Worst hamburger I have ever eaten in my life. Total garbage. Small and the burger probably weighs about 2-3 oz. For $2.59! One measly pickle, a few tiny onions and very little ketchup. For $2.59! See photos. And when I saw the price when the extremely unfriendly woman rang it up, I said how can it be $2.59 when the sign says $2.69 for a cheeseburger. The sign doesn’t include a price for the hamburger. She just said a cheeseburger is 10 cents more. Wow. Never heard of that before. I asked if I could change my order and she said no. I asked after I paid with my Apple Pay if I could get rewards points. She abruptly said you have to give me your phone number before you order. Maybe she could have asked for it? How can they serve this pathetic hamburger! No more McDonalds for me! RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I WILL SEND MORE DETAIL TO THE WEBSITE YOU NOTED IF YOU GIVE ME A CASE NUMBER. IT WON'T ALLOW ME TO PROVIDE MORE INFO WITHOUT IT. BUT, I DON'T UNDERSTAND AT ALL WHY YOU NEED MORE INFO!

I prefer this McDonald's location to others in the area. They offer extended hours and ample parking, including bus & RV parking. The friendly associates always get my order right. Food is the right temperature.

When they actually have pies, this is what they look like. These pies are my 1 guilty pleasure. I get them often with my coffee, for the past year, I go to a different McDonald's. I generally spend $75 to $150 per day at a McDonald's, BK or Wendy's buying my guys lunch & coffees. So driving an extra 10 minutes is a pain but it's better than raw cold burgers or burnt cold pies. I just stopped there yesterday giving another chance & my order was completely wrong, like not even the same food on my receipt, type of wrong. Spent $25& got $11 worth of food. I don't go back & complain. I just go elsewhere. I drove 10 mins away & reordered, not only was my food good & right, I didn't have to pull around & wait 30 minutes for cold burnt food. Get it together, folks, it's an easy job! McDonald's makes it easy & fast, follow the instructions. You may be tricking corporate with the pull around & wait, but you're not fooling your customers. I intentionally never order custom food so it can't be screwed up, typical order 5 to 10 #3s, 5 to 10 large black coffees & 2 strawberry cream pies. Not 1 thing custom. I understand when I order 10 double ¼ pounders I'm going to wait but when I wait 35 minutes, it should be right, fully cooked & hot. I'm all polite & smiles, but just know I'm pissed. & you cost your boss $20k to $30k over the last year by me driving to burns harbor or valpo depending on what project I'm on. My office is in chesterton, so no matter where in Porter County my guys are at, it's easy for me to hit your location. I'll try again next quarter. You have a couple of months to get it together. Let's see if someone is reading these. Oh & on a side note to all McDonald's, if someone pulls in at 10:25 & you say 1 moment please & have them wait 5 minutes, don't be shocked when they ask for breakfast, I know the menu changes at 10:30, but I got there at 10:15 waited in line 10mins & you had me wait until the menu changed then tell me it's impossible to order breakfast. Nothing is impossible.

Update: I got nuggets today they were fresh & I'm impressed with how they lined them up so neatly. I don't usually eat here but my significant other & his minion partake in this place. He mentioned his fries were fresh, service was friendly. He used the app to place his order today & was happy with his experience.

I love this location, I pass two other McDonald's on my way to this location because the Employees at this location are simple Awesome. Even during lunch rush employees are hustling to keep the orders moving including the Management Team (Paula, Kandice). They all seem to forget that they really are probably not earning enough to be that AWESOME! A shoutout to Peter who knows I don't do the KIOSK, is always pleasant he's a "keeper". Rusty

Stopped in this store on a Saturday morning and the manager on duty was SO FRIENDLY, she quite literally made my day. I wish I’d caught her name but I wanted to leave this review to show my appreciation! Thank you for the wonderful service!

We ordered a couple of meals of deluxe quarter pounder and they were really well prepared. Staff members were really nice and cared about meeting customers needs. The place was also very clean.

This location is on the struggle bus, whenever I drive past it looks backed up. I had a small order and they asked me to pull around and they'd bring it out to me. After about 15 minutes i went inside to check on the status of my order. They had completely forgotten about me. Was given a free smoothie for the mixup atleast.

Chesterton is one of our favorite road stops. Got a mcflurry. These are smaller than i remember. Thanks inflation.

Had the big breakfast with hot cakes . The hot cakes, hash brown , eggs and biscuit were good the beef patty with grilled onions not so much. In fact the patty was salty and onions with the rest of the food was just not that good. Did not like this change sausage' was better. Had to wait for someone to wait on us. And line was staring to form. Inside was like most McDonalds I have been in. Nothing to set it apart.

It's McDonald's, so you have a certain level of expectation. The food is exactly what you'd expect, except rarely do you get the hour-old stale fries or nuggets. What sets this place apart, though, is the friendly staff. Yeah, it's a McJob, but at least they treat their customers with kindness and respect--not something all McDonald's locations can say.

Don't know why this place only has 1.5 stars, drive thru was speedy even with a line and a large order, food was FRESH, everything in our order was made correctly, and strawb banana smoothies were delish. :) Would 10/10 recommend this McD's after a long day at the dunes.

i think mcdonalds is great but they don't listen to my orders sometimes and their chocolate shakes are good

If I could give less, I would. If I don't care was their slogan it would suit them well. If corporate doesn't care how a local franchise represents the brand, then they don't deserve any of our business anywhere. This was the third and final attempt to get some food. This has been my sandwich care that I've received the last 3 visits. It was a joke I described what I might get before looking. The only thing I missed was I got a half piece of cheese. But the huge dollop of tarter that just runs out is a standard here along with the fish not inside the bun... yet is stuck by the cheese when you try to put it where it should go. Manager needs fired. Of they don't set a standard, it starts there. If you are traveling, go anywhere but here and the horribly managed and owned DQ across the street. These owners take advantage of their location, not only screwing their own community but also the people stopping by our nice little town. If you have to have a McDonald's, drive another 10 minutes to Michigan City. You'll at least have a better chance of getting something decent.

Well as always McDonald's disappoints I wish I was shocked but they messed up my order and we didn't notice til it was too late We specifically asked for no cheese on the burger due to me being lactose intolerant and they still had cheese on it so now because of that I'm gonna have diarrhea because I couldn't see the cheese

THIS SITE LIES AND FALSE ADVERTISE'S. Mcdonald's lies to it's customers. It says the fresh beef is cooked when ordered. That's not true. That is a lie. They cook the beef patties in large amounts and keep them in warming trays them assemble the burgers when you order. THE BEEF PATTIES ARE NOT COOKED WHEN ORDERED. THEIR PACKAGING SPECIFICALLY DAYS: FRESH BEEF COOKED WHEN YOU ORDER. FALSE ADVERTISING. FRAUD TO THE CONSUMER. Employees are kind and respectful. Good not that great. I've had better. Mostly go here only for soda and coffee.

The Big Mac tasted like rat poison. I got my grimace meal and my Big Mac tasted like cheeks. It was so ass and the shake was terrible too. They gave me a sad excuse for a Big Mac and bathed it in ketchup. I would not recommend this place unless you want intense bowel movement. My stomach hurts so bad it I just have to shit.

I ordered a quarter pounder and specified cheese and lettuce in my burger, with no pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise. And they decided to put the patty with no cheese and add pickles with the ketchup mustard and mayonnaise.

I went In and they immediately told me to sit down and be quiet and then when I went to get my food all I got was chicken nuggets when I asked for a big Mac it was disgusting I hated it here please don't go if you don't want to have a bad review and then when I went to the bathroom all I saw was complete shit it was smeared everywhere and they were balls everywhere

Really just depends who is there/working because if you get the wrong people there working you'll wait 10/15 mins just for a drink and large fry, if you get the right people or if the "not cool" mangers are there then you'll get a nice quick service, with the "slow" crew I've had things missing, cold food, basically dry old food sitting to long, shortage on things, etc early morning or right before they close probably best best tho for quickness, either way sitting waiting.

This is quite possiably the worst McDonalds I had the pleasure of visiting. Where to start.... but before I start I will menetion 2 things, 1. The location of this McDonalds is just off the inner sate and is also next to a state route. So this particular stop off the highway is pack with travelers. 2. The actual facility was clean. Now to start.... My wife and I and our three kids were heading out of town and needed to stop get gas and food. We arrived to McDonalds the drive-thru line was enormous, to avoid this I decided at this point to just go inside to avoid the hassle. ( please note no even mad this happens all the time, not trippin) I went inside to order there were 2 resisters with no employees and two employees standing in the "ordering area" asked if I need help ordering using the "do it yourself ordering kiosk" I said. At this point I'm annoyed. This place is literally forcing people to order thru this kiosk while there is lines building up. Makes no sense. I witness serval people just walk out because they just didn't want to deal. SMH. You should have option to order via employee or kiosk. Meanwhile as I and waiting for my order a line people holding young kids at the restroom for what I can only assume for diaper changes... which is rough this place has enough walk-in traffic to have a family restroom.... SMH. I got my order which the weight of the bag seem kinda light so I check my order and sure enough it's wrong. I walk up to the employees less counter and stood there ignored for about 2 mins while countless employee made eye contact with me and never came up to make to ask me if anything was wrong... finally someone did and I received the rest of my order. I came inside to avoid the hassles of the drive-thru and it was swapped for another one. So now I will just avoid this McDonalds all together.

If you wanna order food and not get half of it, I recommend this business. Very irresponsible employees.

Customer service is horrible. They didn't reply to my rat problem. It is very serious for the rats are ginormous and might eat me or something. However, when I contacted them they didn't reply. How could you?

When I'm in town on Business, I work in Michigan City and stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Chesterton. I could get breakfast at the Hotel (at an extra cost), but more likely than not, I stop at this McDonald's for my favorite: A Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit. Sometimes I go for the hash browns, and that leaves a choice between orange juice and coffee. It's an easy on-and-off the highway, and I've always found the drive through to be quick and painless.

Whoever owns this McDonald's should sell it and buy a car wash. Horrible service took 30min for a burger nuggets and fries. Smh

Couldn't have had a better experience. Best McDonald's cheeseburger I've ever had was at this particular location. Staff is friendly, service is efficient, and smiles are plentiful. I live in Chicago, but I definitely will be back soon and I'm bringing my friends and family. Anyone who heads to Michigan and fails to stop here is at a loss.

This location is absolutely horrible! The past 3 times I've been here I've got my order wrong or received unacceptable food. First, my two mcchickens where messed up having nothing on them instead of just mayo. I call and they assure me they are sending out 2 free meals the next day, two weeks later receive nothing so I call and they say to stop in and I got one of my free meals at that time. I order the chicken bacon club (remember this is the free meal for correction of them already making a mistake) and it has beef instead of chicken! I didn't even bother to complain about that I've basically given up on them getting anything I order correct and clearly they don't take the time to send the meal tickets anyways. Today I got breakfast thinking maybe breakfast is easier?! My hash brown was hardly cooked to say the least and not even in a sleeve that holds the hash brown the sleeve was completely untouched just thrown in the bag and you def would tell if they attempted to put it in there because of how absolutely greasy it was it greased through all my napkins and bag. My sausage,egg and cheese mcmuffin the egg on that wasn't cooked thoroughly. What a mess don't waste your time going there, I wouldn't be surprised if I or anyone else get sick from that mess. 5/22 made the mistake of going here again today ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. Requested just mayo nothing else and I got bacon, cheese, and lettuce mind you the ticket even said just mayo and they still messed it up. 8/10/14 Here we go again. My sandwich not even fully wrapped the the bag with half the sandwich hanging out. Here is a pic of how my sandwich was prepared and put in the bag. This place is ridiculous.

They didn't listen to the order. We got fries we didn't want, the wrong kind of sauces, quantities of food were mixed up. No under three year old toys. We gave one back because it was a choking hazard and they kept asked but are you sure you don't want it we don't have anything else.

Next time you tell a PAYING CUSTOMER at 9:30 pm that your smoothie "machine" and frappe "machine" are already down for the night , you should probably not let your employees make a smoothie and drink it in front of the customer you just lied to while I wait for my food.

This place sucks idiots working there can't even make right after a day of shopping in michigan city,in. We live in Illinois. Last Saturday 0ctober 27th,2018 at 4pm decided to stop at McDonald's for coffee and a snack the only open was the drive thru ordered 2 coffees 3 cream one sugar and 3 cheeseburgers and medium fry the kid was a sarcastic ass the coffee isn't marked we don't have time to mark themthe coffee was not hot and fresh there was nothing in them no cream or sugar and the cheeseburgers were hard and the frys cold beware you know the term from lethal weapon they fuck in the drive thru it is alive and well at this mcdonalds

Pretty much isolated McDonalds just off the highway... staff were great. Food was ok (the buns at McDonalds feel like VCR packaging)... there's flat-screen tv's in McDonald's these days... I had to watch Wolf Blitzer while eating a McChicken sandwich. It put me in such a bad mood. Esp. when I couldn't effectively dip my sandwich into the little paper cup of ketchup. I know these things are supposed to expand and all that, and I tried, but I just ripped the cup and got ketchup all over my fingers and winter gloves (the kind without finger tips, ie. the useless kind). Good thing there's endless free napkins here. I used so many, I could have quilted a robe of McDonald's napkins... I really did just help myself.

Worst McDonalds ever. Check your order before you leave. Use to go here 3 times a week. Orders were wrong at least 60% of the time. Quit going here in January of 2011

The worst. Took 20 minutes at drive thru for an order of McNuggets. Avoid unless you have time to waste

I took my 5 year old daughter here to cheer her up after a breakup. We took my per goat too. As I was in the line getting 5 cheeseburgers 2 large cokes 5 cookies 3 large fries and 6 hash browns the girl hanged it to me and told me "Is ur goat eating half of that?" I said "No my daughter had a breakup and she is so sad and she is going through a rough time I mean they had been together 2 years." She said "Okay miss now get ur goat outta her!" I was so offended. Never coming here again. Sorry micky d's u lost 1 regular customer.

These "poor" reviews of a McDonald's are quite possibly the dumbest things I have ever read. Why review a fast food chain? Does anyone believe that YOUR review of a typical McDonalds is going to tip the scale in favor of another dining option? Was someone really "on the fence" about going to this McD's until they read some moron's Yelp review?? It boggles my mind. I especially got a kick out of the idiot who frequented this place 3 times a week, even though the order was wrong 60% of the time. GET YOUR FAT A## to a grocery store and cook your own meals!! I'm surprised anyone dumb enough to eat at a McDs with such frequency has the brain capacity to connect to the internet. I only ended up here because I wanted the address of this location so I could get my biannual Big Mac attack on. If you're eating at McDs more often than that, start saving for your chemo treatments now, while you still have a functional colon.

My wife stopped at this McDonalds to bring home some of the little apple pies for me to have while I was watching football. The first one was ok, the second had been bitten off half way down. ( obvious teeth marks ) This and other things, like wrong orders has made us decide this wouldn't be a place we would frequent anymore. Therefore no stars. Mc Donald's, get this place running properly. Bill, Chesterton, In. Under pressure from grandkids, returned for a midday lunch. The place was fairly busy. The food was typical Mickey D's. my question is, where do they get these young people with such bad manners and horrible attitudes? These must be the same ones demanding a $15.00 minimum wage, right?

Check your order before you leave, I have yet to have an order be correct the first time. The girls who work the drive thru are rude and don't seem to give a shit.

It's a McDonalds so it is very standard. The service here was slow and I just walked in to use the bathroom and grab a drink. Never got to order a drink as they were slam packed but it seemed that each order was taking forever so I gave up. The bathroom was pretty dirty but they were being bombarded. I came on a weekend and the Farmer's market AND art faire were going on.

I went to this McDonald's for breakfast. I ordered an egg biscuit and sweet tea. The person at the window was holding the cup on the inside. I have no clue where her hands have been. The is not very sanitary. I will not be stopping here again.

This McDonald's USED to be the go to friend hang-out...until tonight. First the atmosphere of the place has been taken down a few notches since it was redone and the fireplace was removed. Tonight we got yelled at by a disgruntled employee to be quiet...at a McDonald's...at 9:15 at night. So nope. Not goin here anymore, Wendy's here I come.

I'd give 0 if I could. I don't think I've ever gotten an order from here that was both correct and not made like sh*t! Just 10 minutes ago, ordered a big Mac with extra mac sauce. They put over an actual cup of sauce on it. I picked it up and literally had both hands dripping from so much sauce that the sandwich immediately fell apart. F*cking disgusted by the horrible service. These employees don't even deserve minimum wage, let alone a job period!

Most offensive food experience of my life. I love had a long day, and I simply wanted a lil burg with no onions and extra pickles. First of all, the woman who took my order was very unfriendly and wasn't even in uniform #unprofessional. Second, I opened my hamburger to see one pickle and probably 700 onions. I honestly almost cried. I HATE onions. Anyway, they'll never get my (or my momma's) business again

order was completely wrong. kid at the counter was an idiot. got overcharged for a drink we didn't order, had to get a new burger because it wasn't correct. sweet tea was flavorless & warm no matter how much ice was in it. the only good thing was we got a spare order of fries we didn't order :). would give this place 0 stars but i don't have the option to

If I could give 0 stars I would, but unfortunately that's not an option. Every time I go to this place they act like they have all the time in the world, waiting probably over 30 minutes for my food every time. The last time I made the mistake of going inside, one of the workers made a rude comment about how many ketchup cups I was using. I don't know how that's okay or necessary but whatever. I ordered uber eats from here a week or two ago and it took over 2 hours and never came, and I was on the phone with uber eats multiple times and they had to contact mcdonald's. I ordered uber eats today and it took an hour to get here, and big surprise, my delivery driver said you guys took forever. So after an hour of waiting for my food, I realize basically the entire order was wrong. Completely different burger and no fries. If I was minutes away from death due to starvation, I would rather crawl to another mcdonald's than give this place my money. If you want to wait forever to get the wrong order and deal with rude employees, this is the perfect mcdonald's for you, but if not I would definitely go somewhere else.

My sister and I just went through the drive thru and I got a medium coffee and she got a large fry. We got our food and as we were about to leave my sister looks and the bad and sees that there's a hamburger in it not fries. We turned back around because we didn't want a burger. When she went back in she brought the burger with to prove that we didn't get fries. They gave her fries which weren't even filled, they were half way filled. Then, they didn't just tell her to keep the burger, THEY GAVE THE BURGER TO THE OTHER PERSON. Luckily, we didn't do anything to it or even open the burger, but there could be other people in the world who would put something on it or do something to it. The fact is that they gave it to someone else instead of throwing it away or just telling my sister to keep it, they let someone else have it, which is so disgusting and there is probably a violation of safety.

Absolutely the worst food I have ever had. Zero customer service. The fries were cold and soaked in grease. All of the "food" was cold and the entire order $11. With the exception of kids meal toy was thrown out! If you go to this McDonalds you'll be sick! The corporation should close this trash hole.

This McDonalds is possibly the worst location in the NW Indiana area. They consistently get the order wrong attempt to remedy the problem by offering coupons for free sandwiches. I've tried various McDonald's in the area and have not experienced this problem. It's either bad training or bad management. Sadly this location is closest to my house but I'm done.
