How the Dairy Industry Used the Butter Board to Take Over Your Feed | Eater

"A massive fast-food chain that has partnered closely with dairy promotion groups since about 2009, even hosting industry-funded dairy scientists to help incorporate more dairy into its menu. Industry partners credit the collaboration with boosting the presence of dairy on menus, point to research funded to improve the chain’s milkshake machines, and highlight the viral success of limited-run items such as the Grimace shake; a Dairy Management board member has claimed that, over time, roughly four in five menu items contained dairy. The company says it makes its own menu decisions but describes the partnership as helping ensure the quality of dairy-based offerings and strengthening relationships with dairy suppliers." - H. Lovely staff, fresh food. But the manager didn't want to put through an employee discount even after showing proof of being an employee telling me there was no way to do it, but after asking another manager he put it on the till which showed me that the 1st manager just didn't want to do it.

Issue with kiosks and spoke with teams onsite who provided a phone number and refused to provide a name for contact to resolve the issue. And then asked by security to go outside because in staff could not resolve issue. Security then manhandled me offsite

I have been to other McDonald's in central with great service and presentation, here is just not up to par. Cold food and have to fight to get basics like milk for the tea. Due to the location, they will always have business but it would be kind if they could think of giving customers a better experience please.

They prepared my menü on 40 minutes. Sauces were missing. ICE in Cola was missing. Sauce of Nuggets was missing. Lots of staff but doing nothing. Change the manager ASAP

Eating in the jungle... Overcrowded inside. The Numbers on screen of orders if are ready to picked up are not existing. Only if you hear the microphone. So you are waiting and waiting, ever your number is showed for pick up. The people that are working must being payed very very very well, because working here must be a hero. They don't stop working on full speed all time. Needs more people to work here to help the others!!! McDonald's must take care of people working for you!!!!!!!

Very very busy today, the App was down so I had to order via the big screen which is complicated for me! Staff very helpful and food came out pretty quickly and was very hot... overall an excellent visit.

Yelp
I must express my profound dismay at the unsavory conditions I encountered within the lavatories of the establishment, which regrettably bore the unmistakable evidence of gastrointestinal distress. The presence of fecal matter adorning the facilities is a grievous affront to hygiene standards and demands immediate attention. Furthermore, the distressing incident involving my daughter's attire being tarnished by such unseemly circumstances, compounded by the callous remarks directed towards her, has left me deeply perturbed. I implore the management to promptly address these matters and uphold the dignity and respect that all patrons deserve. The food and ambiance was alright.

Yelp
All the seats were roped off which sucked. I have a bad knee. Ok, McD order shouldn't be long right? I stood for over 10 min while my son tried to get on the McDonalds customer WiFi. Our phones showed "no internet." The manager and security guard watched us. I showed them we had no internet, they said "we do" and showed their phones. Fine if they couldn't fix the WiFi but maybe give a sh*t? They're advertising all over about using their app but then no WiFi to get on it? Nice. Then he tried to pay with my credit card, it wanted a pin. It's not a debit card, there's no pin. We did this for awhile and then he went and stood in line to pay. It worked fine up there- so much for self service. We eat McD maybe 4x a year- it's clearly too much.

Yelp
Bless this poor McDonald's such a busy location, I have never been in or walked by when it wasn't slammed busy. When I came, ordering was easy on their touchscreen kiosks and food always came out correct and hot. Seems they have enough demand to turn over a lot of food, so nothing was stale.

Yelp
Went here after a show because it was one of the few establishments open. Ordered McNuggets and they were cold and dry. The cheeseburger was so so. The place was insanely busy with everyone waiting for their order number to come up. There's hardly any seating on the main floor, and at 10:15 they already closed the other level.

Yelp
Located towards the end of Strand, close to multiple shops and Charring Cross Station, I ordered some milk as a late night beverage with the branch around two miles from the Hilton London Bankside in which I was staying. This game to £0.79. As a 24-7 store in central London which is located next to the Sainsbury's Local on Strand, the location and opening times are pretty handy, so must earn points for that, it is one of the few 24-7 Mcdonald's in London with many stores closing sometime in the early morning between 1 am and 3 am, London is a busy city that is always moving and busy so this store is pretty handy. The packaging was pretty wasteful for one carton of milk which equalled 250ml with a huge paper bag and multiple Mcdelivery stickers making it slightly hard to get into, which in my opinion is rather small compared to their other drinks, and at £0.79 for half a pint (250ml) of Arla Organic Milk this means 2L worth would cost £6.32 compared to the average price of £1.92 for Sainsbury's (£1.09 for regular supermarket own brand milk), it is pretty expensive in that sense but if you're just ordering because you've forgotten to buy it from the supermarket etc or to go with a meal it really isn't that bad. Convenient location and opening hours but the insanely wasteful packaging let it down. A slightly generous three-star rating is the result.

Yelp
Date of experience: 13.47 pm order placed and paid through the McDonalds App on 25 Sept 2023. Order Number 023, Neasden F branch. Click and collect. Collected at Neasden branch click and collect- in the car. Noticed items missing- no ketchup, no extra Big Mac Sauce, no extra cheese ( contrary to the written label on the box with the extras/and no patty) Got out of my car & Took the big mac to the counter. Met with ?manageress (I think she was, because no one wants to come forward and be assertive and say who they are). Showed her the missing items (and showed her the special order printed label on the box which stated the way the order was supposed to be made with extras) & she agreed. She took the big mac in the box to show staff at the back/kitchen, had a discussion with them- I could see her from the counter. A new big mac was prepared & given to me at the counter. I opened the box and had another look. This time i could see the ketchup in the big mac and there was extra Big Mac sauce as ordered! Pointed out there was no extra cheese in the new order (contrary to what it said on the printed label on the box of that special order) At the counter, i asked for extra tomatoes- they said they have to charge me but the till has no option to charge so cannot give me/add to the new order. That was that. I asked about the extra cheese which was again missing. Two staff members said they made the order with extra cheese. I tried to point them to the new Big Mac (now in my hands) had one slice- i took it apart to show them there was only one slice. This time they did not want to come close and take a look. The actual staff member that prepared my order insisted (WITHOUT looking closely at big mac at the counter) that there were two slices as she had prepared it! This was ridiculous and I was frustrated and told them to keep the big Mac and I started to walk out. Did not ask for refund as I felt embarrassed and intimidated and left the restaurant. Immediately, Contacted McDonalds HQ and spoke with a friendly Callum and told him the above - all of which he took note and apologised. I know a few of the multi-franchise owners in NW London and they all said this was very badly handled by Neasden branch. Emailed the McDonalds digital assistant. I have left the matter in the hands of customer services to resolve. All I will say is that at age 60, this is the first time in 30 years I have had to make a complaint about mcdonalds. And my point is that as i have always requested a big mac special order and I have always paid and prepared to pay for a Big Mac (minus the patty) for the full menu big mac price AND extra payment for additional items offered and yet they make a hash! Twice in a row & still did not get it right & wouldnt listen! Previously when they get the order wrong, it's usually sorted when I walk into the restaurant and kindly ask to correct the order. This time was different. It occurred on: 2023-09-25 -This meant that I felt I was not being listened to -I felt that their attitude and posture was defensive -I felt I was being ignored -Felt that they did not want to hear the customer who took the time and trouble ( to walk into the restaurant) to explain exactly what was missing and twice failed to make the order exactly the way it was ordered -In the end, when I could see the staff did not want to re check that one cheese slice is missing, they did not want to see for themselves AND at that point, without presenting any further solution for me, I had no choice but to simply leave the restaurant and hand back the Big Mac. -Felt Embarrassed and insulted. -Felt angry but I am a mature adult & was not going to resolve this by dealing with the staff any further as they simply stood their ground. So I had no choice but to leave. THEY DID NOT EVEN STOP ME FROM LEAVING AND DID NOT EVEN OFFER A REFUND! I look forward to the response of McDonalds UK HQ on this matter. There were many points here that they need to take up. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply to this complaint. Order Number 023 Restaurant name Mcdonalds Neasden F My name- Harry

Yelp
I try to stop off an American chain every time I am traveling just to experience the differences from back home. I got the Italian stack with pepperoni which you don't get in the States and it was decent.

Yelp
Ordered a quick filet-of-fish at around 7pm. It takes a huge amount for me to complain about McDonalds but the fish was clearly old and very dry. I took it back and they exchanged it with one that was just as bad. I considered taking it back again but thought 'what is the point?', do I want another dry, old filet? There are far better places around. Avoid.

Yelp
Don't judge! I know that you are going to think I'm crazy... but this review is 5 stars based on comparison to other McDonald's, plus when you are traveling internationally on a budget, nothing's beats free wifi and a free CLEAN bathroom. Plus, this is the most beautiful McDonalds I have EVER seen. Check out my photos!

Yelp
Wow. Mustard in bbq sauce? Who would've thunk? gross. I'm sick to my stomach. This McDonald's sucks.

Yelp
I usually don't review McDonalds restaurants. Actually, I never review McDonalds restaurants. But WOW, have you seen this McDonalds? Maybe it's just that America's McDonalds are usually dirty, crowded, smelly and overall just terrible. But here in London, I was somehow ridiculously impressed with this McDonalds! Clean (extremely, extremely important when you're eating fast food), spacious (no need to squeeze into the corner booth), comfortable (I spotted leather armchairs and 4-5 different seating areas), modern, brightly-lit and, best of all, friendly. Even the bathoom was nicer than the Hilton's (yep, it really was). McDonalds, you have redeemed yourself!

Yelp
Pretty terrible service. I mean, it's McDonald's. I don't expect much at all. But, the very little I expected, they somehow managed to screw up. Do yourself a favor and don't go here. Better yet, don't go to any of the American fast food chains in the area. They are all pretty terrible. Do you and your health a favor and eat the nearly infinite number of other restaurants in the area.

Yelp
Came to London for my first time. Ordered a bacon burger. Got no bacon... good job mcdonalds !

Yelp
Clean! From the eating area to the bathroom. Free wifi and the lines move quick. I can't complain. The food was meh but shoot if you're offering a clean environment and wifi I'm happy.

Yelp
Due to its location this branch of McDonalds is always busy. Its 24hour status and close proximity to a huge amount of night bus stops, makes late night burger munching very eventful. From 12am onwards this place has a colourful array of sleepy drunks, loud drunks even the occasional semi-naked drunks. How the staff don't lose it I have no idea. I use to use this McDonalds for a warm place to wait for the first train. With Charing Cross next door it is the best place to wait if you need to journey south.
google avatar

MQ F.

Yelp
Literally next to the Charing Cross station. The area doesn't look very safe, though. Lots of homeless people seem to gather nearby. The cleaning girl is pretty and very responsible, but some customers make it very messy. Love he huge sofa, but it is rarely clean.

Yelp
24 hours is nice, but also means there can be drunk people in and around the "restaurant." They have an express lane on the far left. I'm not sure how it's any faster than ordering normally, but if you already know what you want, you can just go through there. At least it saves you the trouble of standing behind someone going "umm" or "ermm" for 10 seconds. The seating downstairs is closed at night, so there isn't actually too much space to sit inside when it's late. Overall, it's an ok McDonald's.

Yelp
It was a little before midnight on Friday. I was starving, having just checked into my hotel after a trans-Atlantic flight. I went to look for something to eat and McDonald's looked like it was the only restaurant still open. It was crowded and noisy. Packed. The clerk at the counter spoke in a soft voice to me. I could not hear her. I asked her twice to speak louder. She appeared tired and overworked. There were no tables available on the main floor. I saw the sign, "200 seats downstairs." I went there. When I was almost done with my meal, an employee threw me out of the lower level, saying the section was closed. I asked for two minutes to finish eating. He said no. Afterwards I telephoned the manager to let him know about my experience. He apologized and was quite professional.

Yelp
This McDonald's is literally the most impressive McDonald's I've encountered in my entire life. My friends and I are currently studying abroad in London and had thought about trying out an international McDonald's as a bit of a joke, but when New Year's Eve rolled around, we genuinely craved it as only drunk study abroad students can. Not only is this place the nicest + cleanest McDonald's I've been in AND open 24hrs (we had walked to a few others that were closed and were *devastated*) but the staff can handle hordes of drunk patrons - including foreigners like me who don't know the menu well - with ease. My food was ready, without exaggeration, 30 seconds after I ordered. I will always think of this McDonald's fondly during future late night escapades, and hope other people do too, because it deserves all the praise I'm capable of giving a fast food restaurant.

And Then T.

Yelp
Really really sorry to do this, but McDonalds saved my life multiple times!! Lived in London on and off for over 6 years, and I promise you, sooner or later McDonalds will save the day for you too. No Roberto's or California burritos to help ease the pain of a night of binge drinking...McDonald's there to save the day! No gross boiled tomatoes, or black (blood) pudding, or nasty "sausage". GROSS GROSS GROSS. Sorry England, but your "typical" food Typically SUCKS! Thank you America for unhealthy, but predictable food chains. There is a place for them in the world, trust me.

Kie M.

Yelp
I can't give any restaurant that makes you eat out of a paper bag more than 1 star, I asked for a tray, they said they dont do trays. Too slow to clear rubbish.
