McKenzies Bar & Grill

We had the taco special. Nothing too fancy, but a good overall taco. Also enjoyed the spinach & artichoke dip, is was pretty good. We enjoyed a few busch lights and I had the cider. Played a couple rounds of pull tabs as well. Would stop again!

Phenomenal service the staff is friendly and professional. The food far exceeded my expectations. Not only did it look amazing, but the taste was unbelievable good! I'm very picky, and the staff didn't make me feel bad instead offered plenty of substitutions. Very welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend checking this fantastic place!

Sorry guys I love you but I ordered wings to go yesterday...never looked at them till today but they were clearly not even cooked. And no sauce. At least I was planning on putting them in the air fryer.

Luke was an excellent bartender and Lisa was busting her butt working so hard! Good atmosphere and great vibes!

An inconspicuous entrance with a large sign out front. Craft beer and great sandwiches. Excellent friendly service and quite around lunch time. Stop in for a break. A solid 4 star. Reasonable priced.

Overpriced, subpar pub fare served by half-attentive servers in an only somewhat clean establishment. Don't bother unless you like paying through the nose for bland, boring food.

The chef came out and discussed what I would like to eat and suggested other ways to complete the meal. It was Fantastic! Highly recommend.

Your nachos are out of this world! I prefer cheeee sauce in opposed to melted so I got a side of that too. Service was ok.

French dip - not memorable. Onion Rings were good, fried pickles, eh adequate. But our server she was great!

I did not like the place at all, my grandson did. It seemed dark and grungy. A place where locals that don't have a lot to spend might go. The server was good and the food was ok but again, not my cup of tea.

We are parttime parents my husband & I. Our little one lives on the Range so we/I decided to stop in for lunch before we dropped her back off. Great service, great hot food. As a no call no show happened to the amazing server & she still was a polite, kind, no bad words at all about what happened & very helpful. Great Job! We will be back for more. The spin dip burger is what I wanna try next. Sounds delish!! PS boot the no call no show no respect for you, your business, or your team. Just my opinion (past mgr of 3 restaurants)

Great nachos - I ordered a half order and they made a mistake and brought me a full order. Great drink too. Took a long time to work my way through the nachos but it was just the break I was looking for. I'd order them again!

Just a solid little bar and grill tucked in a strip mall. I tried the Steak Bites for an appetizer, which were just alright. The pieces were a little small, but the horseradish dip was solid. Next up was the Spin Dip Chicken Sandwich. Although it wasn't much more than a hunk of their spinach and artichoke dip topped on a grilled piece of chicken, I kinda liked it. Seems like a more ideal spot for a drink and small bite, but definitely serves its purpose.

WOW, Just pulled into town and of course starving. Our RV park owner guided us to McKenzie's They have a "Cheer's Like" feel, super friendly, good seating away from the bar and wonderful staff. Their award winning burgers are just that, and the Fish n Chips absolutely perfect. Wish we lived closer this would be our weekly hang.

Food was salty, overpriced, and mediocre at best, but things got even worse after my husband felt violently ill after eating their fish special and couldn't even throw up in the bathroom because the toilet was clogged full!!! I called the restaurant as soon as we got home to tell them the fish or tarter sauce might be spoiled/rotten but their response was that they had fish too and didn't get sick so didn't know what to say...seriously? Gross and a total waste of money!!!

McKenzies is a great place for a drink. They have great happy hour specials and the bar tending staff has always been friendly when my wife and I stop in. There are lots of regulars that frequent McKenzies for their drink specials. The food here is kinda on the umph side. I've tired the entrees and I wasn't a fan. My wife had the walleye bites and they came out a little more friend than I liked. I stop by here for drinks and maybe an app but other than that I eat elsewhere.

We stopped for something to eat and a beer. We shared the nachos and it was huge, big enough for a crowd. 2 of us ate and the container was still full when we left.

We had heard good things so stopped here for a late lunch. It was not really busy, but the place was still so understaffed that it took over 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. They had some German items on the menu for Octoberfest. I ordered one of those with fried instead of the German sides. It still came with the wrong sides. The waitress did bring fries too, but again... it was very slow. We also ordered a taco salad which was okay and the Denver sandwich which was really quite outstanding! It was huge! If I came again I would order the Denver, but we won't be returning...

The food has really gone downhill. We used to come here all the time. Taco salad was all shredded lettuce and very little else. Would no longer recommend.

We were all very happy with our food, all 6 of us. The walleye chowder was thick and hearty. My burger was the grape ape. (I substituted blue cheese for the pepper jack) was really good. I will say the buffalo wings were small and a little dry, but besides that no complaints :) ps our waitress was wonderful too

Had a short stop in Duluth, and was told to try the walleye chowder....it was fantastic. The staff was friendly and the service was good

We had a large family gathering for lunch recently and were very satisfied with the service and food. Everyone was complimenting the restaurant. They liked the atmosphere and especially the wide selection of food choices on the menu. We'll be back for sure!

We have experienced good food in the past but tonight this place failed miserably with service and food quality. The steak bites were tasteless and the emulsion sauce separated. Tomato basil soup typically is cream based however this bowl was watery in consistency.

Decided to give this joint another chance. I ordered the veggie quesadilla for take-out. I feel so dumb, because even after discovering it was going to cost me $14+ dollars (before the tip), I still decided to pay for it & bring it home. Ain't no veggie quesadilla worth that kind of $crilla, and this one was no exception. I done been had. Never again. Either they're circling the drain, or they're getting greedy. Whichever the case, skip this place & go to the grocery store. You'll thank yourself later.

I originally had a four star review for this place. however over the course of a year of frequent visits the service went considerably down hill.. the food was always inconsistent but for the worst it be came consistently bad. poorly cooked to poor presentation. service was slow and snobby. there are some people that work there that are great example the bartenders but some are less than friendly. but the food busy or empty bar had been terrible. I got to the point where I said if the food is terrible again I won't come back here... and well the food was terrible again so I havnt gone back. I have ask for corrections on food before and they had been accommodating from the bartenders but the cooks less than amused. which i can understand where cooks are coming from. but come on have a little pride in your work other than blaming others. anyways I wanted to like this place but I just can't accept it for what it has become.

Stopped here on a whim with my g/f. Was more than pleasantly surprised. Their daily drink specials are awesome including 2 for 1's all day long on Mondays. My g/f loved their soup and nacho's and I enjoyed my wings. The service was top notch and friendly too. Great experience. Had a few more meals here with the food only being so/so.

This place is such a disappointment, they are one of the very few places on top of the hill that isn't a chain restaurant and their food is extremely average, nothing imaginative on the menu. On top of that they have a mosquito problem, we were swarmed by mosquitos as we sat INSIDE the restaurant. The staff was friendly but I'd recommend going elsewhere unless you like to pay for below average food. I'd recommend to the owners that they take a look at the Duluth Grill food and drink menu. This place could be so much better.

Bartenders are never friendly. Bruschetta was always great. Have no clue why they keep removing from the menu. Meatballs are good. Usually go for drink n appetizer. Always feel like a stranger each time I visit

I have never been disappointed! Great service and wonderful food! It's a great relaxing night out! I'm always recommending it to family and friends!

Never once has it not been worth the extra ten minute drive to eat here. My grandmother was impressed and she's been in the restaurant business for 50+ years. In all that time I have never heard her compliment a restaurant as much as she does this one. I try and make it once a week. The mckenzies sauce is fabulous and I have pretzel poppers everything as a starter. Have not had an item I didn't love thus far. Only complaint or suggestion would be open one in superior and or downtown duluth. The review I just read about the rest rooms being filthy is shocking to me. That's one of my favorite things about this yummy place is the awesome, bright and CLEAN bathrooms. Try it, you won't be dissapointed.

We waited for over an hour for our order. Waitress said the kitchen was behind and she didn't want to push the cook. The sandwiches were close to inedible. Bread was dry and hard, the chicken in the chicken tender sandwich was as hard as concrete. When we told the server, she said she would let the kitchen know but did not make any adjustments to our bill. Rest rooms were filthy.

This is my go to location for food and drink. They have excellent daily specials along with a fantastic staff. Great menu to choose from.

Good service good food nice waitress, my walleye sandwich was great, Castle danger beer was great, Wife had Turkey bacon wrap, it was excellent, service was real fast, can't say enough about the food, would come back in a heartbeat

This place has a decent atmosphere! Plenty of TV's, Games and a very wide variety of lunch and dinner choices. Definitely going back!

Great drink specials, love the atmosphere, and their Oktoberfest menu is absolutely delicious!
