We enjoyed our stay at McKinley Cabins. The cabins themselves are very well maintained, comfortable, and conveniently located. There are some lovely trails right off the property, and having a great pizza restaurant next door was an added bonus. Note that some rooms are better than others - we stayed in room 46 and had highway noise. ||One of the highlights here is the food — truly excellent. It’s clear why so many travelers stop in just to eat. However, that popularity comes with challenges. On one evening we asked about reservations and were told they weren’t necessary, only to arrive and face an hour-long wait. The next morning we encountered another wait as the restaurant was packed.||While the food is worth it, it would be great if there were a reservation system or priority given to lodging guests, so we could enjoy the dining experience without long waits.||Overall, a wonderful place to stay with fantastic food and amenities — just be prepared for busy mealtimes.

Pricey but worth it. Good spacious cabins located just beside a creek. Tastefully decorated space. Clean rooms, comfy beds, great staff. Good assortment of toiletories. Ample marked parking for every cabin. 15 mins from Denali park entrance. No breakfast included which i think should have been included for the price which is high. The restaurant is good too.

We had a wonderful stay at Creekside Cabins. The cozy riverside location made falling asleep to the sound of flowing water so relaxing. Blackout curtains were a huge plus during Alaska’s summer white nights. The staff was incredibly helpful, giving us great road and hiking tips. Dinner at their on-site restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. Everything about our stay was excellent—highly recommend!

We stayed at four different locations as we toured around a portion of Alaska, and this was my absolute favorite. ||Tracey greeted us warmly upon arrival and gave very clear directions about how to get around the property and the facilities that were available for use. Throughout our stay, Tracey or other staff members were always available to answer questions or make suggestions. ||Our cabin was clean and fairly spacious, but the best attribute was the private deck that overlooked the creek. Look in one direction and the bubbling creek is heading toward you; look the other to see it bubble on its way and also see the mountains across the street. Stunning. ||The restaurant on site is very good. The selections were varied and food quality was very good (don't miss the potatoes at breakfast/brunch!). My only suggestion would be to offer some lighter options. Even the bowl of buckeye oatmeal was lumberjack size! I felt bad not finishing my meals. I would have loved to see yogurt and/or fruit as a breakfast option. The kitchen also provides meals to go (ordered in advance) if you have early plans to leave for hiking or touring. ||The location is just 10 min from the entrance to Denali Nat'l Park and its visitor center, so it's a great base camp while you're exploring the park. ||We highly recommend including this stop on your next trip to Alaska.

We stayed at the Carlo Guest Cabin (2-Bedroom) in early July. The cabin was very spacious inside for our party of 2 adults and 2 kids. We appreciated it's close location to Denali NP (15 minute drive north) as well as to the Denali Highway (15 minute drive south). The restaurant was much better than I had anticipated and we had two dinners there, a "boxed lunch to go", and breakfast pastries & coffee. For dinner, the Thai Lettuce Wraps were unexpected and delicious as was the Salmon from a local river. It also had one of the best gift shops from sweatshirts, etc. -- even better than Denali NP. Overall the location and accommodations were great. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the Homestead Lodge at McKinley Creekside Cabins, with two comfortable queen beds and a large balcony tucked among the trees. The property felt fresh and well-kept, with pretty grounds and river views to enjoy. The Creekside Café gave us both our favorite meal of the trip and, unfortunately, our least favorite-the quality seems to vary. It’s about a 20-minute drive to Denali, with mountain views along the way that are absolutely stunning. We were lucky enough to see “The Mountain” two out of three days—an unforgettable experience! Plus we saw 5 bears, a moose, lots of ptarmigan, a fox, a dall sheep and several caribou...but none on the grounds. We would definitely return!

Our family stayed in the Carlo House at McKinley Creekside Cabins in early August for 4 nights. The cabin was clean, spacious, and fully equipped for our family. We made our breakfasts and lunches in the kitchen, played corn hole in the yard, had a fire in the fire pit, and played chess in the family room. We ate at the cafe 3 times and can easily say it is the best food around. The staff of the cabins and the restaurant are friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. We got great hiking recommendations from our waitress. The location is perfect, just a few minutes drive from the entrance to Denali Park as well as conveniently located near ATV rides, Zipline tours etc. and hiking trails. You definitely need your own vehicle (which we believe is the BEST way to see Alaska) but this is a perfect base to explore the area!

Wow! What a beautiful place to stay at from the wonderful Creekside staff, creekside view from our cabin was breathtaking and the restaurant and bakery were top notch! We were greeted by Crisandra and Sarah upon arrival and were made to feel welcome from the start. When they learned both of us were celebrating our birthdays that week they surprised us with one of the freshly baked Texas cinnamon rolls that we were able to indulge in throughout our stay. We would love to come back and visit again! Thank you Creekside!

Yelp
This was my favorite place to stay during a weeklong trip to Alaska, where I had a few different stops and lodging accommodations. It's located about 15 minutes south of the Denali National Park entrance and is much quieter and peaceful than the hotels in the immediate park area. They make the more remoteness easy with an onsite cafe as well as sharing names of other close by restaurants. I stayed in a lodge room located in a two story building, a short walk from reception. It had views of the mountains and woods with a private deck to take it all in. They do a great job of checking in with you before your trip to recommend activities and excursions in the area. I didn't get to eat at the cafe but did order to-go. They offer a a bagged lunch you can pick up early in the day to take in to the park. Since I had an early morning excursion on the East Fork transit bus in Denali, it was super easy to pick up my preordered lunch at 6:15 am before heading to the park. It included a sandwich, granola bar, baked good from their cafe and a bottled water. Be sure to order that at least 24 hours in advance and they can even just add it to your bill. Wonderful place to stay near Denali-so peaceful and comfortable.

Yelp
I booked a Jeep Excursions event for Sunday evening in Denali. Rather than drive back to where I was "basing" out of for my Alaska trip, I booked a room at McKinley Creekside Cabins. I found a really good rate online so this was my ideal choice. I also liked that McKinley Creek Cabins are only twenty minutes away from the event that I booked. This property offers a lot. Besides their cozy rooms and cabins, they have their own cafe, bakery and gift shop. I ate dinner and breakfast in their cafe. Food is good but the service is slow. Servers are friendly and professional. Again, just slow service. Plan accordingly if you have activities to do in the area. The room I stayed in was comfortable. Nothing special. It provided exactly what I needed. Check out is a seamless process. Don't forget to pick up some gifts on your way out. For such a small gift shop, they offer a lot. I enjoyed the views of the mountains that surrounded the property. What I enjoyed the most about my stay is all the amenities the property offers. Also, room was clean. Nothing gross at all. I liked the lady's demeanor who checked me out. I believe she is the property manager or owner. She came across as sincere and warm. I would consider McKinley Creek Cabins when I return to Denali. Thumbs up!

Yelp
We came here two days in a row based on the wonderful reviews this place received. I figured the rating might be locally adjusted, meaning, I kind of feel this restaurant is probably best among this region. Fish and chips: they are ok. 3/5. Fries are regular fries (if you like Five Guys). Fish certainly comes in big portion (much bigger than what a regular fish and chips), but I don't find it particularly juicy or tender or fresh. Chicken & waffle: 4/5. Chicken 5/5. Waffle 3/5. Pecan pie: 3/5. Way too sweet. Blueberry pancake: 4/5. Coffee cake: 3/5. On the sweet side. Service is quick. Good for small group.

Yelp
Great food, great service, amazing view. Highly recommended when visiting Denali. They have amazing back patio view.

Yelp
We stopped here a couple of times on our trip! First time we bought scones, muffins and Alaska sized cinnamon roll for breakfast! So delicious we went back for dinner. I had delicious chowder with halibut! Beautiful spot on the deck overlooking the mountains!

Karen O.

Yelp
We had breakfast and dinner here plus bought americanos to hit the road the next day. Breakfast skillet was good - liked that I could pick my toppings. Potatoes were very greasy though - hash browns or grilled potatoes would be much better. Elk sausage gravy was creamy and yummy. Avocado toast was good but it's only one slice of bread - ordered extra sides. Salmon chowder at dinner was delicious! Baked halibut with as good. Thai stir fry was ok - wouldn't get it again. Had salmon on top and that was perfect - crusted yet flaky.

Yelp
We stayed here two nights at the creekside (more like a roaring river) end unit. Everyone here from the front desk throughout the restaurant works hard and keep smiling. I have not seen this superb service for quite some time in the service industry. It's rare we eat at the same place for more than one dinner while on vacation but we definitely went back the the cafe for a second night and they did not disappoint. We had bfast here twice as well. Of the five places we stayed on our trip to Alaska, this was by far our favorite. The room was comfortable, the setting absolutely beautiful, the service great! The owner went from table to table at the cafe and introduced herself thanking people and her dog made an appearance as well!

Yelp
Jillian was superb and very welcoming and helpful. She also recommended to us where to go during our stay in Denali national park! Highly recommend to stop and visit this place and btw excellent skillet!

Yelp
The food and service was amazing! Great breakfast spot! I came here with my fiancé and Bonnie was our waitress 5 stars to her as well, definitely recommend stopping by here.

Yelp
Overall, delish from the view of Denali, gardens, creek, brunch, avocado toast, macaroons, marshmallows crunchies, sourdough, Rhubarb cake. Visited twice & joked I was having a dessert baby (due to baked goods indulgences) & naming Alaska.

Yelp
The rooms were clean and location was perfect for visiting Denali National Park. We had dinner and breakfast at their cafe. Although the dinner was great, I wasn't a big fan of their to-go breakfast items. There weren't any vegetarian/vegan burgers. Please don't bother to order their avocado toast as it was barely half a toast with a bit of avocado on top. The lemon pound cake was extremely sweet and not something you want to get. If you are heading to Denali Park early in the morning and have nowhere else to go then this is your only option. However I would recommend prepping for some breakfast from supermarket instead.

Yelp
This is one of those places that you aren't sure if you want to write a review because you don't want everyone to know about it. This is a lovely remote lodging right near the entrance to Delali National Park. Online many of these cabin places look the same with photoshop, smoothing etc. But this place is actually very nice and it has a great little restaurant. It definitely stands out in the area. The customer service is excellent and they take very good care of you. This also includes the staff at the restaurant. The lovely Carlo Creek that runs alongside the cabins is very pretty and the soft sound of the trickling water is as soothing as an ocean. I sat on the adirondack chairs drinking a glass of wine just enjoying the sound and the view; it was so peaceful and relaxing. If you are in the Denali area or driving through headed to Fairbanks and need a place to crash I highly recommend McKinnley Creekside Cabins. I come to Alaska frequently for work; I hope I can work this lovely place in to my schedule in the future!

Yelp
I have eaten breakfast, brunch and lunch here on vacation. Every meal was delicious and had large portions. Environment is really nice and the staff was great.

Yelp
Great food, super service and good menu. We stayed on-site at the cabins and ate here three nights. We enjoyed the specials ( halibut) and the stir fry. They also had a very good breakfast selection including scones to go!

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. Seriously- I can't say enough good things. Super cute location on a roaring creek, delicious food, fabulous and friendly service. Basically the quintessential mountain cabin experience. Stay here and book Cabin 25.

Yelp
Food was delicious. We ate dinner and breakfast here and both meals were amazing. Prices are a little high for breakfast, but the food was perfect!

Yelp
Really lucky we decided to drop in here on our way to Denali. Their summer salad with soup and sourdough bread are unbeatable. They make a lot of the salad and baked good ingredients right on the property. We liked it so much we stopped in again on our way back!!

Yelp
~$260 for 6 people. Everything inside was pretty clean. My dad picked this place because the price was competitive. It was a little cramped to have 3 beds in a large room but it fit 6 of us just fine. Most hotels I've stayed at had really bad little bottles of shampoo and conditioner which is not enough for 6 people. This place provided Dove in large bottles which is nice. My only complaint is that it didn't have a TV but that wasn't a big deal. I didn't visit the restaurant. Would I come here again? Sure. If visiting Denali again, this is one of the first places I would look up.
google avatar

Yelp
We stayed here several nights. The staff are helpful and cheerful. The cabin itself was a bit small relative to the number of beds. But since we were spending most of the day in the park, it was serviceable. The location is reasonably convenient to the park entrance, just a few miles up the road.

Yelp
We recently stayed in one of the cabins and it was an awesome experience. The staff are amazing. From check in to check out, everyone had a smile and was extremely friendly. The location was beautiful, I didn't want to leave. Ps the food from the cafe was yum yum yum!! Soooooo good! Maybe that's why I didn't want to leave?

Jordan F.

Yelp
You want to stay here. It's a bit removed from the super busy area where all the tours are, but well worth it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the cabin was great and very clean. Rooms were minimal but that's the reason for going there. Beautiful views at the cafe were great every morning. Can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Very happy with our stay at these cabins! They were clean and very well priced for the area and not far from the park at all. Book early as they can fill up quickly in the summer. Their onsite restaurant also sells sack lunches (for pre-order the day prior) for your trip to Denali. Take advantage of this--those bus rides are long. This was very convenient for our group! We also had some yummy breakfasts at the restaurant. The staff was extremely helpful when I booked the place too. I sent many emails inquiring about tours and info about the park and they quickly responded with lots of info. Once there they were able to book tours for us as well. Very helpful! We sat out two separate nights and played Uno, sipped on wine, and listened to the creek roll on by. Very blissful minus the mosquitoes.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights on our way to Denali National Park. The location is perfect nestled along the Carlos River and about 15 mins from the Denali entrance. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel which was absolutely fantastic (we ate there three times). The family suite cabin was clean and comfy with three beds, fridge/micro, coffee, hair dryer, and shower. Don't expect a TV in the room, but you're in gorgeous Denali, enjoy the view. There was also a sitting area out the front door which was perfect for the morning coffee. This place is exceptional when it comes to the service. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We even had a late night need for AA batteries (my little boy wanted to play with his new train). The front desk donated a screw driver and batteries to the cause. If I had to give one critique, none of the family cabins are located right on the river. They advised us the rooms are going under a renovation which will be different for next year. Family cabins near the river would be wonderful. We would definitely stay here again!

Ashley H.

Yelp
Great staff very helpful and friendly. Cafe was very good also. Loved our room and the location.

Olivia P.

Yelp
spectacular restaurant! searched & searched for somewhere to eat and this was the only place open after 7PM wonderful food and AMAZING service, not to mention the beautiful scenery close by. vegetarian & vegan options available! 10/10!

Kate A.

Yelp
This is a lovely property with a creek running through it. Rooms up to number 25 are creekside cabins, the other rooms are smaller Cabins. There is a common area with a rocky beach to wade in and a campfire and an outside room for common use. You can purchase s'more's from the reception. The restaurant on site has a limited but delicious menu. There is another restaurant nearby. The other rooms are either smaller cabins Or very nice motel rooms with nice amenities. The kitchenette in the hotel type room we stayed in had a microwave and small fridge, but wasn't really suitable for food preparation. We expected a more rustic experience. However this was a beautiful property and a nice stay It's about 15 miles from Denali national Park.

Yelp
All was well until bedtime. Then the fire alarm went off. Turns out no fire but some sort of power issue. Fine. Then it happened again. 10. More. Times. All. Night. Long. Look up torture techniques. You'll find this incident resembles one. For real. Now, you might think the mgmt would offer a refund for the night, or maybe a discount, maybe buy us dinner AT MINIMUM. But nothing. Not even an apology. "Out of our control". "Nothing we can do". Really? It's YOUR business isn't it? Complete and utter failure of customer relations. Clueless and craven proprietors and never again, thank you.

Yelp
We stayed at the Carlo Creek Loft for 2 nights. We used Creekside Cafe to reserve the Denali Park day shuttle and flightseeing tour to Kantishna. Briefly, the shuttle and flightseeing tour were incredible. But since this review is about McKinley, we will stick to that. At check-in, the payments for the room and excursion were already settled so we didn't have to worry about making anymore payments. All of the paperwork were ready for us and the gentleman checking us in was very nice and helpful. This is where there was a couple of "speed bumps." The reservation booking time was 45 minutes later than we had scheduled (we had a receipt to show the error) and the staff were unaware that the lunch was also included. The front desk staff corrected the lunch order and made sure it was ready prior to leaving for our excursion. With respect to the later departure time, we were told that we took the only time slot available for our tour- but the change in time was never communicated to us- and we had to adjust the plans for our day accordingly. Lastly, when we went to our room after the initial check-in, we received the wrong key 2x, which meant driving back and forth between the main building and our unit (it took probably 30 minutes to complete the entire check in). The front desk staff met us at the Loft, assisted us to get in, and apologized for the hassle. At this point, you are probably asking yourself why did they get a 5-star review? Customer service is huge for me and when I look back at these issues, it was mostly miscommunication or things that were out of their control. With the key issue, the gentleman at the front desk came with me to check on the door and fix the issue himself. He could have easily called for housekeeping or maintenance but instead, gave us immediate and good customer service in resolving the issue. When there was a miscommunication with the lunch order, the gentleman at the front desk did not question us or refute, but quickly did his homework, apologized, and took our order which was ready and waiting for us in the morning. When the excursion was made for a different time than we had originally reserved it for, Liz (the manager) and the gentleman at the front desk called the company and "looked into it" to figure out where the mix-up was. When we picked up our food in the morning, an explanation into the time change was given and an apology was made. Altogether, the customer service by Liz, the gentleman at the front desk, and the staff were top-notch. Things happen but they owned up to it (even if it wasn't their fault), and made things better as quickly and easily as possible with a smile on their face. I appreciated their integrity and willingness to make our experience as best as possible. To top things off, we didn't expect anything, but when we came back from our excursion, Liz and the staff left a nice gift for us to again apologize for the rough check-in. The room was nice and elegant. It was on the second floor of a cabin but it was separate from the other cabins so the privacy and security was still high. The studio-like loft had nice amenities such as a full kitchen including a hot water kennel, non-stick pans, coffee and coffee maker, full-size refrigerator and freezer, and cable TV. The room and bathroom was clean and the blinds shielded us from the "midnight sun" when we were sleeping. Altogether, I would come back to this place if I was ever in the area and would recommend the place to any of my friends or family. The room was nice and clean, customer service was 5-star, and the food at the onsite cafe was great.

Yelp
Call it vacationing while Asian. This is 2021 . Dream trip to Alaska. July 28, my friends and I came to McKinley Creekside Cabins & Cafe. Everything was delicious. After dinner, my friends, white Americans, ordered coffee and then paid the bill. I decided to order extra ice cream for myself, but the waitress (her name is Rebecca) did not even look at me, furthermore in passing she stated that the bill was paid and refused to take my order. I sat confused, not understand why she did this to me. Then my friends asked for ice cream for me. She told them, without even glancing in my direction, that there was no ice cream. I am shocked by this blunt discrimination. All because I am Asian. I am really upset and depressed because my human and racial dignity has been offended. I do not recommend this cafe because if they discriminate against Asian people, they are biased and will be prejudiced to others .

Yelp
This was our absolute favorite cabin we've stayed at near a national park. Pete at the front desk is AMAZING! Great customer service from everyone, clean and beautiful. The restaurant on site is great and loved having fresh baked chocolate chip cookies when we got to the room! When the airport delivered our lost bags, the front desk placed them in our room while we were out. I left a necklace in our room when we checked out and they didn't hesitate to email us and put it in the mail for us. The views are beautiful and about 13 mins to all the national park action but away from the crowds. Loved it!

Yelp
A lovely little cabin by the creek -- so literally what the name is. They have a little patio with a fire that overlooks the creek about fifteen feet from the creek. Each room has a view of the creek (mines had a few bushes blocking it) but it's a nice place. The cleanliness is okay , the restroom is just okay. I'm not super impressed with the rooms but it is what it is, and you trade cleanliness for those views.

Yelp
Absolutely would recommend McKinley Creekside Cabins as a place to stay and a place to eat. When you book, spend the little bit extra and get the deluxe cabin right on the creek. The "creek" is actually a decent size, I'd even call it a small river, and has a nice rushing noise which you can hear at hight if you crack the window a bit. The view from these cabins is spectacular. 100% worth the extra money. They offer a AAA discount so ask about that. The room was actually quite comfortable. When you hear "cabin in the middle of Alaska" you don't think you'll be getting a comfy bed with fluffy pillows and a clean full bathroom. Well that is what we got. It also had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker for those early mornings when you need to get an early tour bus into the park. The cabins are only 13 miles from the entrance to the park VERY conveniently located. The restaurant at the cabins had the most delicious food! The Halibut with spinach artichoke sauce was delicious, so good in fact I came close to having it two nights in a row. The baked goods are all made in house. The cinnamon buns are big. Really really big. The restaurant will also pack you a tidy lunch with fruit and a drink for your day in the park. Take them up on it. There is no real food in the park. The employees here were all extremely friendly. They have a giant fire pit for guest use. I loved this place. If we ever get back to Denali this will be the first place I call!

Lynda B.

Yelp
We stayed in the lodge and it was great... definitely would stay again... brand new and quiet. Short walk to the creek and the cafe (the food is amazing) Most impressed with the folks that work in the office...adding to this review after checking into an expensive (upscale) lodge in Talkeetna AK... the McKinley Creekside cabin (lodge) had AC.... a vast difference in the quality of stay given how hot it has been.

Yelp
We arrived here super late from anchorage due to the fires. What started out as a 4.5 hour drive, took us 10 hours. Got in at 2am so we didn't get to enjoy much the first day. We kept checking with the cabin attendant on the road closures and he was great about helping us navigate. The Carlos loft was great; roomy, quiet, clean, and well appointed. The cell service despite the WiFi was terrible though. The bed is really hard; difficult to get comfortable. Let's talk about the cafe-OMG! The food was delicious. They have a true baker on staff who knows how to tear it up in the kitchen. We tried several bakery items and each one made you want more. The breakfast biscuit was flaky on outside and soft and buttery- thinking back I could have taken some for the road lol! The service by Ryan was spot on. They weren't busy in the first morning though it was 5am. He was just as attentive and friendly as he was the second morning when they were crazy busy. Not a lot of seats but they move fast in there. The pancakes on first day were little tough but bacon was knock your Sox off!!! The scramble on the second day was generous in portion and yummy. Don't skip the food here; you will be sorry. The setting of the cabins is stunning. Wish we could have enjoyed it more. Right on the creek and peaceful to enjoy. The whole property is situated well to enjoy the wilderness and the cabin benefits. Close enough to town and the Denali Park entrance. I would highly recommend this place- you will be completely satisfied!!! Enjoy!

Yelp
My partner is really good friends with the owners of McKinley Creekside Cabins so it was nice having a connection. But overall we experienced the same amenities as all the other guests. We were in cabin 25, a regular cabin with a double bed right along side of the creek. I'll be honest, I'm not a HUGE camping sort of guy but the inside of the cabins exceeded my expectations. They were in great condition, clean, and the bedding (which usually freaks me out in places like this) was just fine and clean, not to mention comfortable. There was a full bathroom with a nice stand up shower, again very clean. We made the small trip to Denali and did an air tour with the 5 hour return trip by bus. It was an AMAZING experience and I HIGHLY recommend it! We used the Kantishna Air Tour company and quite liked it. Then the bus ride back (something I wasn't originally thrilled about) turned into a great experience! Lots of wild animals on the way back that you'd never get to see anywhere else. As for food around McKinley, we ate in the cafe several times and the pizza place right next door. The food was so good we couldn't get enough. I'll write a separate review for the cafe but I highly recommend it. The coffee and espresso drinks were great too!! :-) If you plan a trip to this area, PLEASE stay here, you'll be so glad you did!! The staff are SO nice and go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. I think it's the most comfortable you can get in this area and still feel like you're roughing it a bit.

Yelp
Lovely place with an EXCELLENT restaurant. Milepost 224. Has fabulous breakfast too. (But if u need early breakfast go to restaurant at mm 229, opens at 0515.) Great staff, rooms are awesome, just walls are very thin - be warned! Creek is lovely for happy hour. Very convenient to Denali activities.

Yelp
This place is amazing hands down. We have passed this place multiple times heading to Anchorage and never stopped. Which I see now is a huge mistake. I'll start with the rooms. At first glance the outside of the buildings are well maintained and look really nice. Inside the layout is beautiful with everything you need to spend the night, like everything. The bathroom is small but I don't expect a cabin to have a large bathroom. The whole concept inside the rooms is simple and really nice. Now the restaurant, service, and front desk. We had 7 people with us so we filled the restaurant pretty quick. We ordered the smoked salmon dip that came with homemade bread. The dip was creamy and you could taste the smoked fish coming through but not to much. The homemade bread was crunchy on the outside but nice and fluffy in the inside. It was probably one of the top 5 pieces of bread I've ever had. For our main meals we ordered burgers for the adults and kids food for the kids. Growing up in Iowa I have eaten some great burgers and have had sick good quality meat. The burgers here were the best I've ever had and the others I was with agreed. The meat was juicy, bun toasted, fresh ingredients, and the meal was served piping hot (you don't get that a lot in the world these days). The server Annie was super awesome, friendly, and was probably the best waitress we have had in Alaska (we have lived here 3 years). If you have been to Alaska you know the service can be shitty but not here at all. She even gave us an in on where the local trails are. The front desk lady was also super awesome. She helped us out so much and told us her only priority was for us to just relax and not worry. Bottom line this place is so awesome and I hope to stay here again. If you are in the area or looking for a place in the area come here. I don't think you will find a better cabin, restaurant, or service in Alaska.

Yelp
Stand alone cabins with awesome views. Very Friendly staff that answered all our questions. We were in cabin 22, that had 3 beds with the view of the mountain. Cabin was clean, beds super comfy. Capresso coffee maker and coffee powder in room was a bonus. Clean bathroom with running water. Nice patio with a few chairs. Wifi signal was decent. No TV or landline but that was just fine with me, cause a left turn on the highway and 2 miles from the cabins is a scenic spot with room to park, off mile marker 222. Drive on down to 220 for more scenic shots. AC isn't needed, cabin and restroom are heated by a radiator. Use the ceiling fan on low to circulate the heat. For 4th of July weekend, we booked in March, but got lucky to find an opening in the area....so book early. Our 15 and 12 year old boys were very happy, that says a lot.

Yelp
Just stayed for one night during summer. The lodge was close to a river and the scenery around was great. It was located conveniently on the highway so it is easy to find. We have spent sometime to find the reception which was located next to a restaurant. We could see the owner had spent time to make the environment nice and country like. There were colourful flowers and beautiful plants around everywhere. With the price we paid, it was really good.

Yelp
This place is reasonably priced for the Denali area, especially considering the proximity to the park (less than 15 miles). The rooms are simple (no phone, no TV), but clean and cozy. Everything around Denali books up very fast for the short peak season and because we booked "late" (in March for a July stay), we had to stay in two different rooms for our two nights - a cabin with a queen bed (A1Q) and a terrace room with king bed (A1K) that was $10 more per night. It wasn't a big deal to move because the staff moved all our stuff while we were on a shuttle bus tour into the park. Both rooms were more than satisfactory and had nice mountain and creek views. The terrace room was bigger, but if anything I thought the cabin was nicer, because it was closer to the creek, so I'm not sure I'd pay the extra money for the terrace room given the choice. The staff was very kind and helpful. There's an onsite restaurant that's very expensive (as is everything near Denali) but generally has pretty good food. We ate dinner there twice, breakfast once, and had them pack us a lunch to take into the park and everything was pretty good, except the cinnamon roll, which was huge but not good. Their specialty is the halibut & chips and it's to die for - the best fish and chips I've ever had! The staff, both in the restaurant and at the front desk, are very friendly and helpful. A couple things that could be improved: 1) the wifi worked pretty well in our first room but didn't really work in the second room. I know people don't come to Denali to use the internet, but unfortunately it's a reality of modern life that many people have to do some work while on vacation and having flaky wifi is very frustrating. 2) the curtains in the rooms are really lacking for the long Alaskan days and the nights that never get fully dark. Our second room in particular had one set of windows that just had blinds and not curtains and these were really inadequate for the bright night. Bring a sleep mask! Note, they offer a AAA discount, but only on certain rooms and by the time we booked the AAA rates were unavailable. Book early! Bottom line, we had a great stay here and I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Denali. I researched quite a few other options and everything else similarly close to the park seemed to be either considerably more expensive or considerably more rustic.

Yelp
What a find! Fantastic place, great staff. Lovely restaurant. The cabins are clean and well kept - this is not luxury lodging but our cabin at a kitchenette which was handy. The on-site made baked goods are out of this world. The Denali cinnamon roll is a must ( and a must be shared). I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The wifi was spotty but the view from the creek was amazing. My one regret is that we didn't make a campfire in the shared fire-pit.

Yelp
We liked this place! Don't miss the restaurant there. It's expensive, but so is everything around there. We had four people and all of them raved about the food. (Best Irish stew I've ever had!) Only a few complaints, the blackout curtains didn't fit to the window, the clock in the room wasn't set to the right time so it threw me off in the morning, and the huge cinnamon roll we bought at the restaurant was not good.

Yelp
This was a really nice place to stay. It was far enough from town to feel a little secluded. The rooms were nice and very comfortable. The small cafe attached to the front office had some great food and far better than driving back into town. Great price, convenient, and quality food. Everyone there was helpful and great personalities. Thanks for the stay.

Yelp
Great small Cabins . We had a cabin on the creek. Nice view of Mountains all around. Quiet, clean room. The economy room was just fine(all they had left). Spent our 40th anniversary here 2 nights. Only a few miles to the entrance to Denali National Park. Would stay here again.
