Staying here is definitely an experience. Check in was quick and easy. The hotel front desk staff were professional and friendly and very knowledgeable. After we checked in and got our stuff into our room (#6) we went to have dinner at The Pub. The music playing over the speakers was a bit loud, which made having conversation during dinner a little difficult. The waiter was nice but not very helpful when it came to my questions about items on the food and drink menu. The food was decent, we had a pizza and Cajun tots. After dinner we went exploring. We walked across the parking lot to the other buildings to find the hidden rooms and bars. That was a lot of fun. I liked that they allow you to take your drink from building to building on the property. After a visit to the Broom Closet (no cleaning supplies in this one) we went back to our room and enjoyed the double bathtubs in our room (yes, you read that correctly, two separate bath tubs). After a nice soak, it was time for bed. The mattress was awful. So old and uncomfortable. You could literally feel every spring in this thing. I even tried laying on the couch in our room half way through the night to get comfortable. My back hurt for two days after we stayed here. In the morning we door dashed some coffee and then my husband walked down the hall to The Pub and ordered us breakfast to take back to the room. The breakfast was pretty good, I had eggs Benedict and hash browns. Overall the property was nice. It’s not a 5 star luxury hotel, it’s more of an experience. The only thing I would change is the bed, they really need to update the mattresses. Price was very reasonable ( we stayed mid week so not sure what weekend prices are).

Stayed here while visiting in Bend and to check out the property! The staff at the front desk created an oddly awkward and forcibly kind first impression. We got checked in and obviously had questions due to the unique concept of the property. It seemed as if we were foolish to be asking such questions. We got settled in the rooms, they were clean and comfy however the lighting is very dark and hard to see inside especially with the dark walls and furniture. The bathroom is well lit especially since it has brighter lights and white tile in it. The secret rooms you find in the art and Ed houses are neat concept however have potential to be so much more. The coolest was finding the speak easy on the one houses third floor. The bartender there was very nice and the spot was very neat! Good idea and knocked it out of the park here! The cigar bar and pub offer food, drinks and multiple ways to spend and enjoy your time while staying here. Overall we enjoyed the stay and experience. Not sure we’d stay again next time.

Clean quiet cozy hotel a block from downtown. Our king room was large and offered table and chairs with big window onto courtyard. No fridge or microwave. Large walk in tiled shower. Knotty pine paneling. Pub is in same building where we stayed. No housekeeping during your stay.

Talk about hotels with character, this property redefines unique! It’s just a block away from downtown Bend, and has all sorts of unique features and surprises, including a speakeasy bar you have to hunt food, hidden rooms in the hallway, a soaking pool and great food at the pub. Not to mention a onsite theatre as well.
I had left a bracelet behind, which I completely forgot about, they mailed it back to me! How nice!

Good beer and food, fantastic atmosphere no matter where you are on the property. Stayed once at the hotel, but most visits are for beer and dinner.
O'Kanes (one of the bars on the property) is one of the best spots in Bend to sit by a fire and enjoy a pint with friends.

Excellent food, great service and fun environment. They accommodate food allergies well and have gluten free options. I enjoyed learning about the history while also admiring art after our meal. We only ate at the restaurant and visited the bars but the Turkish style baths and movie theater are on my list for our next trip.

I've been to so many McMenamins, and this one by far was the worst one. This review won't reflect on the kitchen as they did an amazing job with the food. My issue was with the service. Seems like everyone else around me was being served and taken care of, but me and my wife. When asked for another beer, I replied yes, and the beer never arrived, but the bill was so quickly at my table. My wife and I felt rushed to pay and leave. Is it because I was Mexican? My wife was shocked at what she was witnessing in front of her own eyes.
I will never dine at this restaurant ever again.

For the most part, you know what you’re getting when you go to any McMenamins location! And we like to go at least once a year to one of them, our favorite being Edgefield so far. The service at St. Francis was lovely, front desk folks were really helpful and when other way to make our kids feel comfortable. In the past we have stayed in the hotel, which has been great, we’ve also stayed in another larger house, but this time we had a larger group so we stayed in the Parish House. It was very disappointing! The kitchen was quite shabby as was the living room. There was lots of dust everywhere when the lights shined and it was kind of gross. The rooms were good. I don’t think it would take much to fix it up a little bit so it wasn’t such a downer. Kind of surprised they’ve let it go that much. Everything else was fine so just pick a different house if you go!
