Had another fabulous experience here while stamp hunting! Sage, our waitress, was absolutely phenomenal and left us feeling like family. Great place to stop for a brew or bite to eat. Pool tables and shuffleboard upstairs with ample seating for large parties. Parking outside is metered but totally worth a few quarters to enjoy this wonderfully decorated restaurant. This place is a must see! Can’t wait till our next visit! Thanks for the hospitality.

Google
Really bad Sysco frozen food. The most upsetting one is having handbreaded chicken strips advertised, and in reality, it's nasty Sysco strips. They never have good service, the drinks are bad and overpriced, and they're always dead in there. I live two minutes away, but I will not be eating there ever again.

We always enjoy McMenamins, not least because there are so many deals to be had. Especially if you have a McMenamins passport and go during happy hour. We had delicious salads (Aztec and Brewers), delicious beer (Ruby Royale and Ginger Snap Red) and pretzel nubs with yummy ale sauce cheese--all discounted to some extent. Then we played three games of free pool. Fun times!

I feel like this place has gone downhill. It has so much potential being a pub in a nice location. The portion sizes have gotten smaller. The two little pieces of fish I got were not worth $20. The brewer salad was delicious but the portion was also not worth the price. I could make the same thing at home. I like the drinks here, that's really the only good thing.

Just to preface this review, I love the entire McMenamins’ concept. I have eaten at numerous locations and stayed at several of them (many times) over the past few decades. What I am about to write is specific to this location, as it is the one I visit most often. That said, it could be applied more generally to the rest of their restaurants. The atmosphere is, like most of them, quirky and inviting. Even when understaffed—which is more and more of a problem in recent years—the staff tries their level-best to provide quality service, often times going above and beyond with their hospitality. The problem was, and is, the food. In the past, it was serviceable fare at a generally fair price point. Nothing to write home about. But also nothing to complain about. More recently, however, the portions and options have shifted while the prices have gone up. Two different sizes of tater tots as an appetizer have become one portion of tots that costs more than the previous smaller portion even as the amount is closer to that size than the bigger options they sold. Two different portion options for the fish and chips have become one option, which is again priced towards the higher end. Most burgers now run close to $20, even though they remain small. A side Caesar salad is barely that and a dinner sized Caesar salad is costly for what is offered. When dinner for two, with one app and two non-alcoholic drinks, runs close to $70 (with tip), something is amiss. And I get some of the positive reviews. It can be easy for some to overlook costly food when the staff try so hard and the decor is so interesting. I also get that holding on to staff has become harder and costs have gone up. I can live with the former and accept the latter . . . . when the price to quality remains constant and in line with comparable restaurants. Thing is, that is not the case with McMenamins. As a result, you are turning away long-time customers who are being honest about the basic reason you go to a place like this: to eat (and perhaps grab a drink or two). I hesitated to write this because, again, I like McMenamins. But I am also finding myself hesitating more and more when it comes time to go to this, or other, locations.

Great drinks, food and service! Fun place

Google
Food great, staff nice and fun atmosphere - drink okay. Decor very eye-catching. It's a huge space with two-stories and limited outdoor seating upfront. I would visit again just to try something else. Really good, filling burger. Ordered the sangria and flavors weren't mixed - tasted more flavors/watered down. For a Friday night wasn't busy at all (maybe because of summer).

Google
To be honest, like in every place I put a review on. This is the worst McMenamins there is. I'm surprised that the owners still allow it to have open doors. The food menu here is not like the other McMenamins. Burgers and Sandwiches here is mostly what is on the menu, and it doesn't impress me like the other locations. Service is OK here. However, if it wasn't for the OSU students coming here, this place more and likely not make it elsewhere. There are not good othere choices on the menu, and don't order the TNT chicken basket. You pay over fifteen dollars for chicken that tastes no different than a chicken basket at Dairy Queen. The pizza has way too much raw flour under the crust for a person to consume.

Yelp
food was delicious servers were quick and very nice the place was very clean and kept well will be returning

Yelp
This place is way bigger than the average strip mall locations. Super fun and cute decor. Great story behind the wall of sinks. Grabbed a pizza and some drinks while passing thru town and watched some football. Parking is street parking only so it can be a challenge, today we hit lucky with a spot right in front.

Yelp
It's a late night, and you want some good food, drink and a resemblance of an adult spot... McMenamins is to the rescue! You'll get more food for less money... best part After 10pm it's a late happy hour Things to stay away from. Tater Tots are overcooked BlackBerry cider (not sweet) Fun place, quirky but homey. Solid 4 stars!

Yelp
This was my first time at a McMenamins Property. I really enjoyed the decor and design of the building - it was super unique! However, the food and service left some to be desired. Service was very slow for a restaurant that was at maybe 45% capacity when we came in - don't know if it was due to staffing or something else, but it was noticeably slow to have orders taken, food brought out, and even to receive the check. I did enjoy the food, but none of it blew me away. I was very surprised by the uniqueness of the sauces and thought those were very good - but there was nothing about my meal that was super memorable, I hope to try another location for a different experience soon.

Tim G.

Yelp
Ah McMenamins... I am not a hater, but I'm also not your biggest fan. Your beer is ok. Your food is decent. Service is often slow. Your restaurant is clean enough, but has kind of a perma-greasy feel to it. Your spirits aren't my favorite but they aren't terrible either. I have a soft spot in my heart for McMenamins on Monroe, but it's rarely ever my first choice when eating out. All in all this spot is average.

Deron R.

Yelp
Nice legit pub in the Corvallis area, you go here for hearty pub grub, beer and cocktails and watch the Beavs! No complaints about the food, the server was nice, they got the Beavs game on properly, etc... One thing to avoid is the truffle fries - i though would be freshly fired fires tossed in truffle olive oil and herbs.... It was just fries with a side of truffle aioli to dip in and it wasn't very flavorful. Other than that you will have a good time.

Andy V.

Yelp
Been here a couple times and the food is just okay, the servers have been really nice, and the inside is clean and has a good feel to it. I wouldn't say I like this place but I wouldn't mind coming here to eat every now and then. Overall not too bad.

Yelp
Visited past few weekends after dropping son off for summer internship. Amazing staff, amazing service, Xtra Ranch!Great job Corvallis!

Yelp
DO NOT EXPECT YOUR DIETARY RESTRICTIONS TO BE MET!!!! WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER!! My sister ordered the vegan mystic burger and was served a regular cheeseburger, after being told it was the vegan burger. Our sever didn't apologize or comp our meal. He seemed unbothered by his careless mistake, and thought offering her a free drink would fix it. My sister has been vegan for 15+ years, a free drink doesn't fix that. They deleted our google review. Unacceptable.

Terry S.

Yelp
Was it was the first Beaver football game of the season. So we stopped to have dinner before the game. The restaurant was very busy. Our waiter was great and the service was spot on. And on top of that we won our opener!

Madilyn L.

Yelp
McMenamins on Monroe has a somewhat effervescent feel. You know, kind of like home. Cajun tots with an IPA will send you to the moon. Make sure you steal a coaster and leave a good tip. Yeehaw!

Matt E.

Yelp
Heading home from the Coast, Corvallis wasn't too far off the path, so we swung by to check out another McMenamins we hadn't been to yet. Each time I find a new one, I'm more and more convinced that they have one of the best business models anywhere! Consistent service! Delicious menu items! Great beer selections! McMenamins on Monroe did not disappoint, for sure. Parking was easy; there were open spots along Monroe, and more on the side street. We had our pups with us again, so we opted for outdoor seating. They've done a great job making the street front an inviting area to dine. Apparently, university students are big dog fans, as ours got plenty of attention from passersby. Our server was awesome! They seemed a bit short-staffed, but Celeste was very efficient, made some excellent beer recommendations, and was very friendly - even brought out some water for the pups. I ordered the Fireside Roasted Turkey sandwich, which was excellent! My partner opted for the El Diablo, which she enjoyed. IMO, the Raspberry Stout was just a bit too raspberry-esque, tasting like one of those hard candies you get at Christmas time; could have been muted just a bit. The "I'm so Glad Nitro Cream Ale" was fantastic, however. With the constant flow of people stopping to greet the pups, I got distracted, and forgot to get my Passport stamped. Oh, well - great excuse to come back again on my next trip through!

Yelp
The Mcmenamin pubs can be in any kind of random places. Some are located in more strip mall settings while others are in locations that are more historic or unique. The Mcmenamins on Monroe isn't exactly in a strip mall but it is in a building that could be considered a mix use of business and residential. I was out to get a lot of stamps on this trip for my Mcmenamins passport and so I had it all managed to eat lightly at each place before moving on. I have to say the very light meal that I had at this location while on this trip was my favorite (I was going to six Mcmenamin pubs total in one trip). At this location I had a great tofu and ginger soup which was just fantastic! The waitress was very friendly and fun to chat with as we discussed all of the other company locations to explore. The decor at this location was a lot of fun but the main highlight was that soup and hope it's a frequent menu item here because it was just fantastic!

Yelp
*UPDATE: I was contacted by GM Scott M. today to touch base about our passport prize redemption. I greatly appreciate his response, call, and his efforts. I've upgraded my review to reflect his help. Thank you Scott! I really appreciate your time and I apologize for losing phone service near the end of our conversation. Super disappointed while at this location today. We don't travel through Corvallis very often but we stopped in here to grab our new passport stamps, have lunch and use our free appetizer prizes from our previously completed passports. Since we were also getting our stamps to complete this location for our new passports we asked to use both prizes at once. We've always been told that we can redeem our prizes ANYTIME. Our server told us he wouldn't let us claim both prizes in one visit. I read through all of the rules in the front pages of our passports and no where did I find anything that says we can't claim more than 1 prize in a single visit. I feel like we've completed the tasks to earn these prizes, paid for the passports, and are now being told we can't claim our prizes unless we come back multiple times. Other locations have allowed us, and several friends, to claim previously earned prizes and new prizes at the same time so we were really surprised when the server refused to redeem them. The appetizers we did order were nicely prepared and served hot so I give 2 stars to the kitchen staff alone. We skipped ordering lunch and decided to visit another location in Eugene ins We'll only be back for a quick stamp visit for all our future passports.

Yelp
I came to McMenamins with a friend for lunch and was somewhat disappointed. Upon arriving, there was some confusion with the staff as to who was seating us and where we would be seated. The poor service also showed itself at the end of our meals, when we had to wait quite some time before we could get our checks. As for the food, I ordered the Portland Dip and had mixed feelings about it. The main problem was the turkey, which had a cardboard warmed-over flavor. However, the garlic jus was delicious and saved the sandwich.

Meagan N.

Yelp
Pretty average. 2 stars for food but service was great so 3 stars. I really wanted to try the Trippy cider but they were out so I had to settle for a G&T. Which was okay, pretty standard. For food I ordered the chicken mini tacos. And indeed, they were mini. Happy hour is cheap at least. The tots are good.

Madeline G.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday night. The place was mostly empty, but it still took nearly ten minutes to be seated. Our waitress was nice, but the food was supremely disappointing. I got the fish tacos, which was $22 if I remember correctly. The side of chips were stale, as were the tortillas. The dish came drenched in an unpleasant ranch/mayonnaise sauce. I was able to scrape most of it off, but was left with about 6-8 bites of fish, for $22. My husband got a burger and tater tots. The burger was decent, but the tater tots were so greasy they left us both with a mild stomach ache.

Dustin C.

Yelp
Typical Mcmenamins, but with its own flavor. Went to this location for the first time. Wife and I redeemed our free appetizers with our passports. The wings were awesome, and the hummus plate was just meh. We have had better hummus plates at other locations. But, the experience was nice, and wait staff are attentive and respectful. May stop again someday? But with passports to fill with other locations. So It will be if we are passing through.

Gracie C.

Yelp
This is not a stand alone location yet it found it's way to make itself unique. It's got the McMenamins quirkiness and you still get the yummy food. I like checking out the sinks on the wall and trying to decide which is my favorite. The food is great and the service is good. The servers are attentive and helpful when trying to make a decision on what to order. ..... ... . ....

Lori N.

Yelp
I came here with an OSU staff member, my alumni son and my toddler granddaughter for lunch mid-week. The wait staff were friendly and tolerant of the little one as she and I explored upstairs where there were no guests. It was a cool area (including a pool table) that would make a nice space for a private group. The other adults had burgers and fries that looked sooo good! I settled on the African Chicken Peanut soup and, wow, was I'm glad I did. Fabulous! The child's meal came with carrot sticks and cucumber slices that my granddaughter devoured. She was less interested in the chicken strips but I liked them As with most McMenamin restaurants the artwork depicted some of the local history and was fun to see. The wall of sinks was quirky and colorful. All in all a pleasant outing.

Lisa N.

Yelp
Easy to find, plenty of parking, and super friendly staff. Beer, good food, casual cozy atmosphere. Perfect stop over on our long road trip. Shoutout to Josh who entertained/tolerated our loud group mere minutes of opening. We appreciate you!

Etienne L.

Yelp
I continue my McMenamins adventure. This restaurant features a cabin as a bar and lots of sinks for decoration on the walls. With two level this is perfect for parties and college town nights. I had my usual burger and as always perfect in every way for me. Also this month has burgers as specials make sure you come week to week to taste different varieties. The service is always good and friendly. The cider pomegranate was excellent if you love cider. I would come here again but I have to finish my passport first. Note: make sure to bring you passport to stamp. Parking available in the street and is metered.

Del K.

Yelp
This is what McMenamins is supposed to be like: friendly (but a bit slow) service, unique and eye-catching decor' and decent food. I love the wall full o' sinks and the creative plumbing art in the restroom. They have a decent menu to choose from and the prices are pretty standard for McMenamins. Now back to the service for a minute, it seems that the wait staff are trying to do a good job, but they do seem very short staffed, which makes for relatively slow service, especially when waiting for your bill.

Sean K.

Yelp
This Mcmenamins right across the street from OSU (gross, Go Ducks) centerd in a block of chain stores did not fail to surprise (and delight) us with a wicked fun atmosphere and decor. The "wall of sinks" was wacky and zany and is a must see. Plenty of room for pool in the upstairs section. The atmosphere was eclectic and fun. We loved it. Our server was polite and attentive, if a bit inexperienced, but she made up for that by checking on us often. We each had the weekly burger month special and were both left disappointed. The guacamole burger was meh :/ at best. The sesame seed bun was the strongest flavor. Not bad, but not very good either. Cajun tots, Ruby and Terminator were good as always. We also spent some time playing some board games they had on the bar. Overall a pleasant surprise. Would definitely visit again.

Wendy C.

Yelp
I like the atmosphere of this place. The Reuben was really good. The corned beef on the sandwich was thick and moist. Sweet potato fries were very crispy. They have tots too but I didn't have any. The things I didn't like were the salmon tacos. The salmon was over cooked and they didn't not have salsa for the tortilla chips so I had to eat them dry. The service was also slow.

John K.

Yelp
Urinal plumbing is serious business; and intensely complex. That's why it should only be undertaken by college-trained engineers. As a WSU engineering grad I can only say "Go Beavs" on this artful yet technically efficient design of the water supply to the men's urinals. (With a nod and a wink to the McMenamin Brothers.) Awesome place and a great hangout for the Beaver Nation. Wish we had one in Pullman (hint, hint).

Richard S.

Yelp
Generally good, with attentive service. Unique decor, with pool tables upstairs. Unlike the (few) other McMenamins that we have been to, this location has pizza. It usually is very good, but you will never get the exact same pizza twice. They have what they advertise, but the various items vary in amount. The biggest concern with the pizzas is you have to be careful...we have found that they often come out undercooked, to the point of almost being raw dough at times. When cooked, they are among the best in town! Menu is extensive enough, and typical for McMenamins. Pricing is reasonable. Wait times are usually minimal, however with OSU being across the street, it can get busy.

Nabil A.

Yelp
Nice ambience. Great IPA. Homegrown 33rd State IPA tasted great. Right in the heart of OSU surrounded by bustling students and families.

Joseph R.

Yelp
Took my son there for an early dinner. It was good as always. This has been the sixth time I have been at this location. It never disappoints and hey they have tots so it is all good!

Rick H.

Yelp
The only reason I gave this restaurant two stars is because the service was attentive during a very slow night. The food on the other hand was ever cooked. I select the fish and chips which should have been a signature dish but turned out to burned mess. The coleslaw was tasteless. My wife ordered a turkey sandwich and the bread was super dry and unappetizing. I would not recommend this restaurant.

John S.

Yelp
Service was good but of our party of four, 2 of the meals were quite sub-par one of which was my own meal. Wife also pointed out several times how dirty the floor was as was the raised spot next to our booth where she laid her purse. She said she was going to take a wet wipe to her purse as soon as we got home. Otherwise, ambience was nice.

Tricia M.

Yelp
Great service and food, loved watching the Beavers advance to the Elite 8!!! Tricia M Columbus Ohio

Harry V.

Yelp
I have gone to McMenamins Monroe location multiple times and it has always been just okay. The food, the service, the atmosphere. This most recent time we asked to play pool. Bar tender said someone was playing, but we could wait upstairs. Waited for a bit but one of the tables was empty. Started racking the balls and this waiter came up to us really hostile and came off as a complete d**k head. I was so pissed the way he talked to my friend we all left. Don't give these guys your business. Worst customer service in Corvallis

Mitch S.

Yelp
Place is pretty good. I'd say it's an average mcmenamins, but got great service and great drinks. I like this one better than the other in corvalis. It got all the stuff all most mcmenamins have, plus some pool tables, and cool art on the walls etc. I do really like how the bar is situated, it's really sunken in, so not really visible from the emtrance. Good place

Sharece B.

Yelp
If you get out of class before six, rush over for happy hour. That's what we did. McMenamins is a great place to meet friends, have a meeting, or take your family. The food is delicious and if you're willing to wait for a table during the busy time, it's worth it. Upstairs has pool tables and some larger tables for group seating. I would highly recommend sitting here if it is open. The menu changes every so often, but you can be pretty sure that everything is good. Staples to the McMenamins menu that I appreciate include the Brewer's Salad, the Tavern Salad, the Captain Neon Burger, and the Communication Breakdown Burger. Recently, I've discovered that they've got some pretty incredible soups as well. If sweet potato fries with chipotle sauce is on the menu, try 'em. And if you're there for happy hour, you've got to order the cajun tots. If you're a McMenamins junkie like me, I'd also recommend shelling out the cash for the McMenamins passport. Not only do you have the opportunity to get a bunch of free food and prizes, but you can make a game of eating out at McMenamins restaurants which is always a fun idea.

Shane S.

Yelp
The best time to enjoy this branch of McMenamins is when OSU is not in session. Stopped by two weeks before school began, the place was empty and enjoyable. Food is OK, nothing memorable to write about. Service was friendly and efficient. The decor is unique to say the very the least, espiecially the right hand side wall with all the sinks. Would recommend only when school is not in session...

Aaron T.

Yelp
Friendly wait staff. Ordered the tater tots. They tasted like the cooking oil and everything else cooked in it. Not horrible, but weird. Then my chicken strips showed up. Slightly more tender than really overcooked chicken and they also retained the exciting flavor of tater tots and everything else cooked in the deep fryer. It was not good. Now I remember why I used to drink when I was here... because it was waaaay better than their food. So, save yourself the headache and the queasy stomach I'm now dealing with and just drink alcohol when you're here. Thank me later.

Tom S.

Yelp
Had a nice lunch with family and friends here on a quiet Sunday. We sat outside due to having the dog along. Since it was a nice day and quiet, no problem, busy day, or weather, go inside. Typical limited menu. Delicious as usual.

Jenny Y.

Yelp
I seriously thought I wrote a review for this already... turns out I haven't yet. (This review is based on happy hour food and service.) Last time I came here with two friends during happy hour (around 4pm) and ordered: Two set of wings $ 5 each Two set of tots $1 each Hummus and pita $2 Lemonade + RC They have a pretty good happy hour selection- it's under $5! [+] Great customer service. Refilled our drinks without it being empty. That's bonus points in my book. The wings that they serve are pretty meaty, which I like. [-] The lemonade that they serve is yuck! (I just wish the waitress told us that the lemonade isn't all the great, so I don't have to taste it in the first place. Maybe.. just maybe she didn't know...) [?] Yes, I would definitely go back there for happy hour. As far at going during regular hours, I will think twice about it.

Valerie W.

Yelp
I enjoy that they put a McMenamins on Monroe. It was lacking a 'nicer' establishment that was not 'fast food' eating. It's a bit small, but neat bar right smack in the middle, plenty of huge TV screens for game viewing, booths below and an upstairs seating area as well. Have only been here a couple times as it opened after I had graduated from college (figures) but is a nice change from having to go out to the McMenamins off Harrison St. downtown. Service - OK Food - Typical of any McMenamins

Ana R.

Yelp
The decore is really cute. It also seems like a good place to watch sports. That said, the food is underwhelming. I ordered a cheeseburger and, honestly, the ones at Burgerville are better and for a third of the price. It came with tater tots and they were solid, but that's sort of hard to mess up. For $13.75, it just wasn't really worth it. Very disappointing.

Jason O.

Yelp
Great beer and same good food at all McMenamins. Service is slow and hit or miss on the wait time for food. Great place to grab lunch if you have the time.

Amy J.

Yelp
Ate here yesterday, stopping through from the coast. McMenamins is always a favorite I enjoy so I knew what to expect. Service was fast, friendly and great. Food was just as good as always.

Gus A.

Yelp
The staff there are amazing! Upbeat, friendly, and helpful. The bartender was very awesome and made sure i had what i wanted. Even the manager was amazing! My only complaint is that the brothers who own the place bring in a waaay higher salary than the staff here. i don't know how much the staff make, but i'm sure it isn't enough to compensate for their hard work. However, seeing as how the "groovy" Mcmenamins vibe is blandly and unoriginally corporate, it's no surprise there's a wage gap. Pay your workers fairly, Brian and Mike!!! Sadly, i have moved away and will miss hanging out here!

Danny C.

Yelp
Extremely slow service and forgetful waitstaff. Also the waitstaff clearly having lunch while also serving customers. Which is probably why it's so slow. Sat around waiting for my check for 20 min after clearly finishing my food. The food is great, and the happy hour is amazing but the staff clearly needs some training and work. Update: Over Charged by 10 dollars, I guess happy hour prices actually are BS.

Maty P.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. To start, I don't think our waiter could have been anymore dismissive of us. She clearly did not want to be work and it was apparent. We came for happy hour and ordered 2 Ruby's, tots, a couple of quesadillas and a burger. To start it took 20 minutes to get wonderfully warm beer! Then, it took 30 minutes for our food to come out and oh boy I could not tell you what took so long for the worst food ever. The quesadillas we got we cold and literally child size. Imagine making a mini quesadilla with only cheese although the menu says it includes onions and cilantro, and then cut it in half and that's what we got. One cold and plain cheese quesadilla and one cold chicken quesadilla. If this is the same quesadilla served on the regular menu, this place has issues. When the tots came out, they were also cold and it seemed the only thing that came out right was the burger. However, while the burger was being eaten, a hair was discovered on the bottom of it. To top everything off, we were charged the full price for the burger rather than the happy hour price and needed to get it changed and all we got from the waiter was "oh," no sorry or apology at all. This was not my first time here, but I can sure tell you it will be my LAST. Such a disappointment.

Kelly G.

Yelp
One of our favorite McMenamins! Great staff and wicked good hummus plate. Beer was good too!

Harrison P.

Yelp
The food was decent but the reason I'm reviewing this establishment a 1/5 is due to the service. Staff that i encountered during my visit were very disrespectful, inappropriate, and inattentive to their guests. Made my friends and I have a very poor experience here.

Aaron J.

Yelp
Came on a Friday afternoon. Pretty empty, granted it was spring break. Seated fast and had drinks in minutes. Restaurant was visually clean, nothing dirty. Huge place has a couple pool tables and shuffle board and jukebox. All the food was on point, chicken wings were fall off the bone. Parking is a bit odd. Watch the meters our front. One was only a 24 min spot. Definitely a better Mcmenamins we've been to.
