Heading home from the Coast, Corvallis wasn't too far off the path, so we swung by to check out another McMenamins we hadn't been to yet. Each time I find a new one, I'm more and more convinced that they have one of the best business models anywhere! Consistent service! Delicious menu items! Great beer selections! McMenamins on Monroe did not disappoint, for sure.
Parking was easy; there were open spots along Monroe, and more on the side street. We had our pups with us again, so we opted for outdoor seating. They've done a great job making the street front an inviting area to dine. Apparently, university students are big dog fans, as ours got plenty of attention from passersby.
Our server was awesome! They seemed a bit short-staffed, but Celeste was very efficient, made some excellent beer recommendations, and was very friendly - even brought out some water for the pups.
I ordered the Fireside Roasted Turkey sandwich, which was excellent! My partner opted for the El Diablo, which she enjoyed. IMO, the Raspberry Stout was just a bit too raspberry-esque, tasting like one of those hard candies you get at Christmas time; could have been muted just a bit. The "I'm so Glad Nitro Cream Ale" was fantastic, however.
With the constant flow of people stopping to greet the pups, I got distracted, and forgot to get my Passport stamped. Oh, well - great excuse to come back again on my next trip through!
