McQueen's Banh Mi Viet

It's a relatively small, takeout restaurant. You may be able to eat standing at a narrow bar against the front window. We are outside in the glorious sun. The banh mi were delicious and filling. The staff friendly and helpful. Recommended

Quick in and out service, next to busy Asian grocery store. Classic assorted viet sub was under $6.50 Great toppings and meat to bread ratio. Dripping spicy sauce a few bites in 👍👍 not too spicy

Best Banh Mi in Hamilton so far. If you’re searching for a great sandwich and a good price this place should be added to your list. The Saigon Deluxe comes on fresh bread with fresh ingredients and will fill your appetite for well under 10 dollars. Authentic flavour with spice or no spice. Order ahead if possible as they often can sell out before 2pm (this is a good thing). They bring fresh buns in daily and when they are gone, they’re gone. Enjoy! I’ve been back many times and they are always consistent. Still one of my favourite banh mi’s I’ve had in Canada.

My friends, what are we doing here? Not eating banh mi at McQueens? This is hands down the best banh mi in Hamilton and it’s no contest. For a mere $5 you’re getting an experience you’ve never had. The service is fast and the little shop also sells other stuff like sticky rice, Vietnamese coffee, instant noodles and other stuff! They also cater so if you ever need If you’re looking for suggestions, in my opinion the classic thap cam (cold cut meats) is the best. I recently tried the lemongrass beef and I don’t think I’m going back to the classic again. They offer the option to make the sandwich become deluxe (adds a lot more meat) for a dollar more! If you’re on a bulk, a deluxe banh mi is such a good lunch 🙏 definitely worth checking this place out.

Best banh mi I've had in Hamilton. The meatballs sub is my favorite! This place is take-out only. The owner was very friendly. Service was quick. $5.50 for a classic and $6.50 for a deluxe (slightly bigger baguette with more fillings).

Ordered lemon grass chicken and lemon grass beef in classic size. Both great but the beef is really good and they are not cheap on the toppings. Great spot !

I have been dreaming about this banh mi ever since I tried it. It’s absolutely delicious - they use really fresh ingredients and are really generous with the meat. If you come here, I’d recommend getting the Saigon. The Oink was good but the bbq pork was a bit too sweet for my liking. The Saigon was perfect in every way. For those wondering: The difference between the classic and deluxe version is the amount of meat. Classic has regular amount of meat (which is still a fair amount) and deluxe has extra meat. Classic was enough for me but if you prefer meatier sandwiches, spring for the deluxe! Highly highly recommend this place! Super affordable and delicious!

Best banh mi I've ever had! Move over Banh mi boys, McQueen is far tastier, fresher and on a perfectly baked baguette that could be sold in France. Unbelievable Hamilton gem. They said people come from Toronto to try it and I'm not surprised. Staff are friendly and take great pride in their sandwiches.

I searched out Yelp when I was in Hamilton Ontario to Find the Best Bahn Mi sandwiches. McQueen's popped up so I thought I would give it a try. I've only had Bahn Mi a few times and I have to say it was mediocre at best so I was expecting more of the same. Wow! Wow! Wow! McQueen's is like night and day with other Bahn Mi places. The taste and the flavors are of the chart. The place is just a sandwich shop with no seating and only about 6 offerings of Bahn Mi. I went with their classic recommendation The Saigon with was pork based with pork belly, pate and roast pork as well as some great veggies. But the standout was the bun ...crispy,crunchy,flaky on the outside and like a soft pillow on the inside. Delicious! I couldn't stop eating it once I started bite after bite... barely swallowing before the next bite.. it was gluttonous! I had found a sandwich which I would drive 45minutes to buy easily! The staff were extremely nice and feel they really care about putting out quality food! Easily a 5 star rating! Thanks McQueen's see you so

I'm fortunate that my girlfriend is Vietnamese, otherwise I would have never found out that there's amazing banh mi in Hamilton. The bread is crispy yet chewy yet tender, and it's filled to the brim with delicious toppings. I've tried their Country Pate, Ultimate Oink, and the standard Saigon -- all are delicious. I'm not an expert on banh mi, but this blows all the places in the city right out of the water. If you're ever in the area and craving a good sandwich... McQueen's is the place to be.

Really good stuff. Lemon grass chicken and the tofu were great. Could use more vegetables in the sandwich. I found the sandwiches to be really good but a little empty. Something to work on.

Best Banh mi place Ive had in the GTHA. Small business with great selection and flavourful options. I went with the #1 and #2 which were both delicious (although more preference to the #2).

Absolutely delicious Banh Mi. Not to mention prices are super low. How can you go wrong when you are looking for a sandwich!?!! I would recommend the Oink Oink, #2.

This is a decent place to get banh mi's. They have two options, the basic or deluxe, deluxe is more meat and costs more but worth it. I am not a fan of the sweet spicy thai sauce so I always tell them not to put it in. A cute couple owns the place and they also have viet coffee, buns, snacks and dessert.

The bahn mi here are delicious and cheap. My favourite is the pate which is as good as the ones I ate in Hanoi. I usually get the deluxe which is all of $4.50
