6 Best Day Trips from Barcelona, and the Itinerary to Know for Each | Condé Nast Traveler

"ME Sitges Terramar, an ultra-modern, tiered edifice, stands out like the sorest of thumbs beside the elegant residential villas and less-populous beaches found at the far end of the Passeig Marítim promenade. But as soon as you approach the entrance and observe the well-heeled guests sipping generously sized cocktails on the Besito beach club terrace, you'll be taken with a feeling of calm. ME Sitges Terramar

"What stands out to you as you arrive? From the outside, ME Sitges Terramar, an ultra-modern, tiered edifice, stands out like the sorest of thumbs beside the elegant residential villas and less-populous beaches found at the far end of the Passeig Marítim promenade. But as soon as you approach the entrance and observe the well-heeled guests sipping generously sized cocktails on the Besito beach club terrace, you'll be taken with a feeling of calm. The relaxed vibe continues inside, where attractive staffers, dressed in head-to-toe white, offer a big smile and a choice of welcome drink. The ivory-and-gray lobby has vividly colored art (some available for purchase) and patterned columns, walls, and flooring. How about the rooms themselves—what can we expect? The Mode room, one of several sea-view categories, was spacious and fashionably stark with a natural wood finish and blue upholstery. Bathrooms are designed with couples in mind and feature open-plan rain shower stalls and, in some rooms, a large oval tub with his-and-her washbasins. The water views from the floor-to-ceiling glass doors—leading out to a terrace with a hammock—were mesmerizing. And an on-screen playlist of rhythmic island sounds made us feel like we were in an '80s movie montage of an island getaway. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi—and is the quality good?Wi-Fi is free and works like a dream. Any good food options on site?Breakfast is an ample buffet with breads, cold cuts, cereals, fresh fruit, and made-to-order eggs. Dinner at Beso Restaurant kicks off with starters like steamed mussels and continues with mains like sea bass and cod, or rice dishes with a variety of proteins. Cocktails, served by the pool or at the Radio Me rooftop bar, are classic and pack a potent punch. How's the service?Sometimes cool, design-centric hotels offer hit-or-miss service. Not so here; we found the staff exceptionally warm and welcoming. What's the surrounding neighborhood like, and how does the hotel fit in?Despite its imposing size and facade, the hotel fits into the scene. There aren’t many restaurants, shops, or loud, crowded beaches in the immediate vicinity, so we'd whole-heartedly recommended it for travelers preferring a little break from the buzzier side of Sitges. Bottom line: Worth it? Why?With minimalist design and rooms starting at $158, ample food and drink options, and a location two minutes from a quiet beach, there's little to find fault with here." - Jessica Benavides Canepa

ME Sitges Terramar (Sitges, Catalonia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The seaside idyll of Sitges, just down the coast from Barcelona, is the setting for the ME Sitges Terramar, a stylish and contemporary resort-style hotel by the Mallorca-based Meliá group. Its location, right across the road from Terramar Beach, is impossible to beat, and the building’s ziggurat-like terraced construction affords plentiful sun and sea views to as many rooms and suites as possible. Its location, at the end of the Passeig Maritim, makes it a touch more tranquil than you might imagine, contributing to the self-contained resort vibe; there’s a Mediterranean restaurant, an oyster bar, and a poolside option as well." - Tablet Hotels

The whole stay was excellent! It was clean, efficient, and luxurious. We were greeted by our concierge Guille when we arrived, he was friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful. On one of our days he helped us with booking paddle boards to go out on the water. Another concierge called Luis helped us with booking a personal training session, and even found a sports bar in town for us to watch a niche game. And to top off the experience, the breakfast was incredible every day!!

We had the most amazing stay at Me Sitges Terramar for our honeymoon, and I can honestly say it was a dream come true. From the moment we arrived, the team made everything special, and a huge thank you to Claudia who went above and beyond to make sure our honeymoon was unforgettable. The hotel itself is stunning: the pool area is incredible, with great service, delicious food and drinks that we enjoyed every day. The breakfast was outstanding with so much variety, and all the food we had during our stay was excellent. We also loved the fitness facilities, perfect to balance all the treats! Beso Beach with its sun lounges and super friendly staff was another highlight, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sea. Our room had the most beautiful view, it was spotless and so comfortable. Everything about our stay was wonderful: the service, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the food, and above all, the people. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Five stars well deserved!

We've been to the Terramar for 3 years in a row. Each time we go it gets a little less good and we won't stay there again. It's fine, the rooms are clean, beds comfortable and they have good air con but areas to watch out for:||1) Breakfast. It's served in the restaurant area and there is a wide variety to choose from. The staff are all a bit grumpy and try not to make eye contact as they go about their business. The coffee is terrible (in the machine or, if you can catch their eyes, from the wait staff). If you go to the counter for something they seem to take offence and make you wait quite a long time before speaking to you. There's a lady who makes any omelette you like - she's great - has been happy each time we've been for 3 years||2) Check if there's a wedding on. If so the rooftop bar might closed, as will an area at the poolside||3) The poolside bar is no where near the standard you expect. There are always a lot of people working there, but they only help certain people and not others. The waiters never come round to take drink or food orders at your sun lounger, so you go to the bar and then they ignore you and get annoyed that you didn't wait on the sun lounger. One oft he waiters actually put his hand on my back and guided me back to my lounger! A few people left the hotel because the service was so bad;||4) The cafe/ bar at the front of the hotel you can take a seat but you'll be waiting about 40 mins for someone to notice you, and then another 30 minutes to get an order.

My 10th visit to beautiful Sitges. Never stayed at the Terramar but decided to splash out this year. Positives: Beautiful clean hotel. Amazing breakfasts. Beds so so comfy. Beautiful pool. Young small lad conciege with dark hair and little beard was lovely as was the pool bar lady and the egg lady at breakfast who taught me more spanish. Amazing club sandwiches. Mojhitos too were fab. Minor points: Reception staff maybe could do with some empathy training as our suitcases never arrived and they didn't really seem interested. Maybe just to checkin with us to see if they could help with anything would have been nice as we've quite upset by the experience. Also when we checkedin we were presented with an addition 700 euros for services at the hotel. We decided to pay as you go but got chased twice in an hour to come down and pay for a club sandwich. A little attention to detail needed in rooms as battered waste bins and not replenshing teas in room. Overall: All in all it's a wonderful hotel and we will be back hopefully next time with suitcases. Thank you.

The ME Stiges Terramar is a perfect destination and getaway for anyone. The area is quiet with a small town that is only a very nice walk away, although, the hotel does offer scooters and bicycles. The atmosphere is amazing with all the rooms being styled beautifully. I would like to thank the staff Paula and Luis for making the experience as good as it could be with amazing recommendations and general service, couldn’t ask any more from either of them. Thank you for an amazing stay!

My fiancé and I absolutely loved our experience at the Terramar!! We said multiple times that it was the best and most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed. The hotel ambiance is calm and inviting and very aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast is out of this world. The service is incredible . Claudia made us feel very welcome and loved the whole time. We enjoyed every interaction with her. She is a bright and warm person and never took the smile off her face! Cristhian was another staff member we enjoyed interacting with! He is so friendly and helpful. He made us feel excited to be there. Thank you to the Terramar for a wonderful time!!!

I wouldn't stay in this hotel again if you paid me. They don't know what to charge for drinks. One day it's €14 for a gin and tonic, the next day there are asking for €21 for the same drink. The restaurant waiter said there was no Mar Salada Cava even though it was listed on the drinks menu. I had to buy it directly from the bar. Thankfully we found the Playa golf hotel. Nice people and nice prices. Same gin and tonic and a beer for €14 on a superb terrace. I hope the hotel manager running the show in Me Terramar reads this review. Tom Gallagher

After paying more than 600 euros per night you would think you would be greeted by a more friendly staff. Everything was an up-charge including ice. The beach is not part of the hotel. So you don't get an umbrella or sun-bed. If you want to sit close to the pool you need to pay extra for the spot. Nothing was included not even the breakfast. The staff was very rude - nobody had a smiling face. The atmosphere was very cold and money oriented. The electricity was not working in my room. I asked for a glass of water, they brought it filled 1/4 of the way. I have stayed in 2 star hotels with better service and food than this place. I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. If you want to stay in Sitges, go to the center of the boardwalk and you can see how much fun everyone else is having. Total waste of money

Yelp
I found my happy place! VIP concierge service was excellent, room was large , well appointed with a magnificent view. Breakfast was great with beautiful views either overlooking the pool or the sea. Spent the days on the beach at the hotel's private area. 20 to 30 min walk on Passeig Maritim to many restaurants. Planning to return next summer

Yelp
I was enveloped in an ambience of sheer elegance and charm from the moment I set foot in ME Sitges Terramar Hotel. The hotel itself is a testament to top-notch standards, with its exquisite decor and immaculate surroundings. One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable attention to detail by the staff, especially Aleix and Paulina. Their ultra-attentive service made me feel like royalty. They were always on hand to ensure that my stay was nothing short of spectacular. A visit to the spa is a must! The massages were heavenly and left me feeling rejuvenated. The pool area is another gem; its serene atmosphere and comfortable loungers made it the perfect place to unwind. The cocktail classes led by the charismatic Barman Alex were an absolute delight. His expertise and engaging personality made the experience both educational and entertaining. I highly recommend trying this out! The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking. The azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, coupled with the picturesque surroundings, made for an unforgettable backdrop to my stay. The gym is also worth mentioning, with its state-of-the-art equipment and spacious layout. I must also extend my heartfelt appreciation to the housekeeping team. Their friendliness was beyond compare, and they greeted me with warm smiles daily. Not only were they amiable, but the standard of cleanliness they maintained was impeccable. My room was always spotless, with fresh linens and a pleasant aroma that made it a sanctuary to return to after a day of exploration. The housekeeping team's dedication to excellence significantly made my stay at ME Sitges Terramar Hotel truly memorable. However, my experience was not without its hiccups. The room service left much to be desired. The service was slow, and on several occasions, I had to chase them down for my orders. There was even an instance where my order did not arrive at all. The VIP concierge service tried to deal with this, but it was never resolved. I don't think that's any fault of the VIP service, as they did try what they could. It seemingly is due to errors with the app. Additionally, the dinner at the main restaurant was a bit chaotic. The waiters seemed overwhelmed and inattentive. My drinks order was forgotten despite my reminders. ME Sitges Terramar Hotel is a jewel by the sea that offers an almost perfect getaway. The few service issues I encountered can be easily rectified. Once these are addressed, I do not doubt that this hotel will deserve a full 5-star recommendation. The beauty, amenities and most of the staff are already there; just a little polish on the service will be unparalleled.

Yelp
This area is pretty much a small beach town and the hotel is walking distance to the town and shops. The hotel is really nice, big, gorgeous view and great service. We stayed here due to my husband's company, but I looked at the prices and for the view and area it seemed reasonable. The hotel is located around vacation houses, townhouses, and hotels. The hotel is 2 km from the town, which is about 1.24 miles, so not a bad walk, plus you can choose to wall right by the beach or in between the small streets.

Truth R.

Yelp
Stayed here for three nights. The hotel is well kept with great service. The restaurant is pretty good and the beach across the street is very family friendly. The service was great. The place was a good 30 minute walk from downtown which feels much longer in the heat. It was hard to randomly go do stuff given its distance and there is nothing else around the hotel like a coffee shop. Breakfast if not included was pretty expensive at 35 euro a person. I think the hotel should offer free shuttles to the town every 10 mins. There is a little train that takes you there and back but that runs at random hours every 30 mins and does not really follow a schedule. For me, if the hotel was closer to town I would stay there every time however given how far it is, I will try another place next time. We tried their beaks restaurant for lunch and we enjoyed that. We had the grilled fish for two which was very fresh.

Yelp
Great hotel with awesome service from all staffs. Super pretty view and only 20 mins walk along the beach to the city center. Breakfast is included mimosa :) Rooftop bar has a gorgeous view but only open on the weekend. Cabana outside has a great music at night. Just perfect for vacation. Highly recommended if you plan to stay here in Sitges.

Yelp
They have rooftop bar. Yea. Boo. Open only Thursday- Saturday. A giant hotel. Are you kidding me?
