6 Best Day Trips from Barcelona, and the Itinerary to Know for Each | Condé Nast Traveler

"ME Sitges Terramar, an ultra-modern, tiered edifice, stands out like the sorest of thumbs beside the elegant residential villas and less-populous beaches found at the far end of the Passeig Marítim promenade. But as soon as you approach the entrance and observe the well-heeled guests sipping generously sized cocktails on the Besito beach club terrace, you'll be taken with a feeling of calm. ME Sitges Terramar

"What stands out to you as you arrive? From the outside, ME Sitges Terramar, an ultra-modern, tiered edifice, stands out like the sorest of thumbs beside the elegant residential villas and less-populous beaches found at the far end of the Passeig Marítim promenade. But as soon as you approach the entrance and observe the well-heeled guests sipping generously sized cocktails on the Besito beach club terrace, you'll be taken with a feeling of calm. The relaxed vibe continues inside, where attractive staffers, dressed in head-to-toe white, offer a big smile and a choice of welcome drink. The ivory-and-gray lobby has vividly colored art (some available for purchase) and patterned columns, walls, and flooring. How about the rooms themselves—what can we expect? The Mode room, one of several sea-view categories, was spacious and fashionably stark with a natural wood finish and blue upholstery. Bathrooms are designed with couples in mind and feature open-plan rain shower stalls and, in some rooms, a large oval tub with his-and-her washbasins. The water views from the floor-to-ceiling glass doors—leading out to a terrace with a hammock—were mesmerizing. And an on-screen playlist of rhythmic island sounds made us feel like we were in an '80s movie montage of an island getaway. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi—and is the quality good?Wi-Fi is free and works like a dream. Any good food options on site?Breakfast is an ample buffet with breads, cold cuts, cereals, fresh fruit, and made-to-order eggs. Dinner at Beso Restaurant kicks off with starters like steamed mussels and continues with mains like sea bass and cod, or rice dishes with a variety of proteins. Cocktails, served by the pool or at the Radio Me rooftop bar, are classic and pack a potent punch. How's the service?Sometimes cool, design-centric hotels offer hit-or-miss service. Not so here; we found the staff exceptionally warm and welcoming. What's the surrounding neighborhood like, and how does the hotel fit in?Despite its imposing size and facade, the hotel fits into the scene. There aren’t many restaurants, shops, or loud, crowded beaches in the immediate vicinity, so we'd whole-heartedly recommended it for travelers preferring a little break from the buzzier side of Sitges. Bottom line: Worth it? Why?With minimalist design and rooms starting at $158, ample food and drink options, and a location two minutes from a quiet beach, there's little to find fault with here." - Jessica Benavides Canepa

ME Sitges Terramar (Sitges, Catalonia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The seaside idyll of Sitges, just down the coast from Barcelona, is the setting for the ME Sitges Terramar, a stylish and contemporary resort-style hotel by the Mallorca-based Meliá group. Its location, right across the road from Terramar Beach, is impossible to beat, and the building’s ziggurat-like terraced construction affords plentiful sun and sea views to as many rooms and suites as possible. Its location, at the end of the Passeig Maritim, makes it a touch more tranquil than you might imagine, contributing to the self-contained resort vibe; there’s a Mediterranean restaurant, an oyster bar, and a poolside option as well." - Tablet Hotels

We booked this hotel based on our great experience at ME Ibiza, expecting the same standards or at least something close. Unfortunately, this was far from the case — honestly, it was horrible. The staff are doing their best, but they simply cannot meet 5-star standards, which is very disappointing. The check-in was poor: the receptionist barely explained anything, and the only thing she emphasized was that the sunbeds on the beach must be paid for. This felt like a scam, as we naturally assumed they were included in the stay. We then tried to use the pool beds, but that was impossible. Guests reserve them with towels from early morning, so there were never any available. When we asked the pool attendant, all we got were excuses. And that’s without even mentioning other issues such as the food… For me, this is a 3-star hotel — nothing more. Definitely not worth it, and I will never come back.

I had a great stay at the ME Sitges Terramar. First, the staff was very friendly and helpful. From the people to the front desk, the people who worked in the restaurant for Breakfast, and to the pool staff, everyone was great. My room was a good size, modern and well decorated. It was overlooking the pool with a tiny balcony. I was worried about noise in the room from the pool, but it was very quiet when the balcony door was shut. The pool area was a good size and spent the majority of the day by the pool and enjoyed it. To put one slight downside, it was a little far from Sitges town and had to take a taxi back and forth for dinner at night since it was too hot to walk. But I would happily stay there again and really enjoyed my getaway.

After paying more than 600 euros per night you would think you would be greeted by a more friendly staff. Everything was an up-charge including ice. The beach is not part of the hotel. So you don't get an umbrella or sun-bed. If you want to sit close to the pool you need to pay extra for the spot. Nothing was included not even the breakfast. The staff was very rude - nobody had a smiling face. The atmosphere was very cold and money oriented. The electricity was not working in my room. I asked for a glass of water, they brought it filled 1/4 of the way. I have stayed in 2 star hotels with better service and food than this place. I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. If you want to stay in Sitges, go to the center of the boardwalk and you can see how much fun everyone else is having. Total waste of money

We had been on a 4 week European holiday from Australia and our few days spent here were hands down the best hotel experience we had during the entire trip. The hotel itself is very nice, clean, with a relaxed pool and great rooftop bar. The rooms were spacious and the balcony views facing the beach were wonderful to sit and watch sunrises and sunsets. The real star of the show, though, were the staff. Every single interaction any of us has with any staff member was an absolute joy. From check in to asking about the town to the poolside people (special shout out to Sarah who was an absolute legend!) I've never experienced such customer service. Even something as simple as organising a taxi ended with a wonderful booking at a local restaurant where we were so well looked after and has amazing local cuisine and a few great places of interest to check out. Sitges itself is a wonderful place and this is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Huge thank you to everyone to who took such great care of us!

Hotel Sitges is a wonderful and beautiful hotel. The employees are all very nice but Sofia deserves a review since she helped us so many times with a smile on her face, in a fast and effective way. She is the hardest working team member. Thank you Sofia for making our stay comfortable and pleasant.

I’ve stayed at Me Sitges Terramar many times over the years for both business and leisure, and it’s always a pure joy. It’s one of those rare places that leaves you looking forward to your next stay the moment you leave. The team has truly mastered the art of making guests feel welcome, relaxed, and eager to return.||The rooms are simply yet beautifully decorated — sleek, cozy, fresh, and immaculately kept. The hotel’s atmosphere has an effortless charm; even at 99% occupancy, it never felt crowded.||The service is exceptional: attentive, friendly, and highly personalized. Every guest is made to feel truly special.||One of the hotel’s greatest assets is that it has its own beach — something not always guaranteed in Spain. And a big shoutout to the team at Beso Beach: they are simply fantastic and make the beach experience even more memorable.||The location is perfect: just a 25-minute ride from Barcelona airport, with everything you need within walking distance. It’s about a 20-minute stroll along a beautiful seaside promenade to the town center — really lovely. You get the best of both worlds — away from the city center’s busyness and noise, yet close enough to enjoy it whenever you wish.||A delightful touch is the signature fragrance used in the common areas — so memorable that I even bought a bottle to bring a piece of that experience home.||Although your experience will vary depending on the time of year, Me Sitges Terramar never loses its charm — each season offers something different, but always special.

Beautiful hotel. Its location is stunning with views of the sea while sitting around the pool area. Beautiful beach just across the road so you can simply walk over for a swim in the ocean. The views are lovely , we have a room with a garden view but you can still see the sea, the view over the mountains is equally as stunning. It could be that it’s not holidays yet but considering it’s June there is always availability on the sun beds so you don’t have to worry about that. Yes I have stayed in five star hotels where attention to detail is slightly better but nothing major to complain about. Only thing I would say is that you have to pay extra for one of the hotel sunbeds on the beach , which seems bizarre to me. We just went to the beach for a swim and based ourselves around the pool. The AC was rubbish in the room. I think the hotel limit it as it didn’t change depending on which setting you choose. We have a car too and parking was easy. The hotel has a car park but they charge €23 a night !! there is parking around the streets for free on the areas without blue lines. The areas with blue lines are still much cheaper than the hotel car park. For such an easy area to park it seems odd the hotel feels the need to charge €23 a night for their very large EMPTY car park.

Google
Fantastic hotel and great location right on the beach. We stayed in a sea/city view room which had amazing views from our bedroom and balcony.|Quite a long but beautiful walk along the seafront to Sitges old town, however, there is also a little train that runs up and down from the hotel every 30 minutes (for 2.75 euros each way).|All of the staff were super friendly and helpful and the hotel is impeccably clean.|The rooftop bar has amazing views over the city but the service could be improved.|The pool area is very clean and well kept, however, the pool is more for cooling dips rather than swimming and their are no wide steps in for older people.|We loved ME Sitges and have already booked to return in September.

Yelp
I was enveloped in an ambience of sheer elegance and charm from the moment I set foot in ME Sitges Terramar Hotel. The hotel itself is a testament to top-notch standards, with its exquisite decor and immaculate surroundings. One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable attention to detail by the staff, especially Aleix and Paulina. Their ultra-attentive service made me feel like royalty. They were always on hand to ensure that my stay was nothing short of spectacular. A visit to the spa is a must! The massages were heavenly and left me feeling rejuvenated. The pool area is another gem; its serene atmosphere and comfortable loungers made it the perfect place to unwind. The cocktail classes led by the charismatic Barman Alex were an absolute delight. His expertise and engaging personality made the experience both educational and entertaining. I highly recommend trying this out! The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking. The azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, coupled with the picturesque surroundings, made for an unforgettable backdrop to my stay. The gym is also worth mentioning, with its state-of-the-art equipment and spacious layout. I must also extend my heartfelt appreciation to the housekeeping team. Their friendliness was beyond compare, and they greeted me with warm smiles daily. Not only were they amiable, but the standard of cleanliness they maintained was impeccable. My room was always spotless, with fresh linens and a pleasant aroma that made it a sanctuary to return to after a day of exploration. The housekeeping team's dedication to excellence significantly made my stay at ME Sitges Terramar Hotel truly memorable. However, my experience was not without its hiccups. The room service left much to be desired. The service was slow, and on several occasions, I had to chase them down for my orders. There was even an instance where my order did not arrive at all. The VIP concierge service tried to deal with this, but it was never resolved. I don't think that's any fault of the VIP service, as they did try what they could. It seemingly is due to errors with the app. Additionally, the dinner at the main restaurant was a bit chaotic. The waiters seemed overwhelmed and inattentive. My drinks order was forgotten despite my reminders. ME Sitges Terramar Hotel is a jewel by the sea that offers an almost perfect getaway. The few service issues I encountered can be easily rectified. Once these are addressed, I do not doubt that this hotel will deserve a full 5-star recommendation. The beauty, amenities and most of the staff are already there; just a little polish on the service will be unparalleled.

Yelp
Stayed here for three nights. The hotel is well kept with great service. The restaurant is pretty good and the beach across the street is very family friendly. The service was great. The place was a good 30 minute walk from downtown which feels much longer in the heat. It was hard to randomly go do stuff given its distance and there is nothing else around the hotel like a coffee shop. Breakfast if not included was pretty expensive at 35 euro a person. I think the hotel should offer free shuttles to the town every 10 mins. There is a little train that takes you there and back but that runs at random hours every 30 mins and does not really follow a schedule. For me, if the hotel was closer to town I would stay there every time however given how far it is, I will try another place next time. We tried their beaks restaurant for lunch and we enjoyed that. We had the grilled fish for two which was very fresh.

Yelp
This area is pretty much a small beach town and the hotel is walking distance to the town and shops. The hotel is really nice, big, gorgeous view and great service. We stayed here due to my husband's company, but I looked at the prices and for the view and area it seemed reasonable. The hotel is located around vacation houses, townhouses, and hotels. The hotel is 2 km from the town, which is about 1.24 miles, so not a bad walk, plus you can choose to wall right by the beach or in between the small streets.

Yelp
Great hotel with awesome service from all staffs. Super pretty view and only 20 mins walk along the beach to the city center. Breakfast is included mimosa :) Rooftop bar has a gorgeous view but only open on the weekend. Cabana outside has a great music at night. Just perfect for vacation. Highly recommended if you plan to stay here in Sitges.

They have rooftop bar. Yea. Boo. Open only Thursday- Saturday. A giant hotel. Are you kidding me?
