6 Best Day Trips from Barcelona, and the Itinerary to Know for Each | Condé Nast Traveler

"ME Sitges Terramar, an ultra-modern, tiered edifice, stands out like the sorest of thumbs beside the elegant residential villas and less-populous beaches found at the far end of the Passeig Marítim promenade. ME Sitges Terramar

"What stands out to you as you arrive? From the outside, ME Sitges Terramar, an ultra-modern, tiered edifice, stands out like the sorest of thumbs beside the elegant residential villas and less-populous beaches found at the far end of the Passeig Marítim promenade. But as soon as you approach the entrance and observe the well-heeled guests sipping generously sized cocktails on the Besito beach club terrace, you'll be taken with a feeling of calm. The relaxed vibe continues inside, where attractive staffers, dressed in head-to-toe white, offer a big smile and a choice of welcome drink. The ivory-and-gray lobby has vividly colored art (some available for purchase) and patterned columns, walls, and flooring. How about the rooms themselves—what can we expect? The Mode room, one of several sea-view categories, was spacious and fashionably stark with a natural wood finish and blue upholstery. Bathrooms are designed with couples in mind and feature open-plan rain shower stalls and, in some rooms, a large oval tub with his-and-her washbasins. The water views from the floor-to-ceiling glass doors—leading out to a terrace with a hammock—were mesmerizing. And an on-screen playlist of rhythmic island sounds made us feel like we were in an '80s movie montage of an island getaway. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi—and is the quality good?Wi-Fi is free and works like a dream. Any good food options on site?Breakfast is an ample buffet with breads, cold cuts, cereals, fresh fruit, and made-to-order eggs. Dinner at Beso Restaurant kicks off with starters like steamed mussels and continues with mains like sea bass and cod, or rice dishes with a variety of proteins. Cocktails, served by the pool or at the Radio Me rooftop bar, are classic and pack a potent punch. How's the service?Sometimes cool, design-centric hotels offer hit-or-miss service. Not so here; we found the staff exceptionally warm and welcoming. What's the surrounding neighborhood like, and how does the hotel fit in?Despite its imposing size and facade, the hotel fits into the scene. There aren’t many restaurants, shops, or loud, crowded beaches in the immediate vicinity, so we'd whole-heartedly recommended it for travelers preferring a little break from the buzzier side of Sitges. Bottom line: Worth it? Why?With minimalist design and rooms starting at $158, ample food and drink options, and a location two minutes from a quiet beach, there's little to find fault with here." - Jessica Benavides Canepa

Gorgeous hotel, beautiful views and lovely staff. From check in to check out everything has been perfect. Location is a little out of Sitges centre but you can take the tourist train from outside the hotel for €2.50 one way or €4 return. Rooms are absolutely stunning and done to a high standard. Can’t comment on breakfast as we didn’t book it. Pool area is stunning too, and they give you towels to use so don’t need to bring your own. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had the most amazing time at ME Sitges Terramar. It is honestly among the top hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Rooms are stunning, the pool is calm and relaxed. Have the club sandwich, it is amazing. The staff are also wonderful. The only fair warning, this hotel is about a 25 minute walk from sitges proper… which in the heat of the day can be a bit of a thing. But being slightly away from the excitement was wonderful - plus MANY ways to get in and out of town. Just stay here. Totally top notch.

Perfection! We stayed for 3 nights and I cannot find a fault except for the charge of 15 euros per person to use the beach sunbeds for the day. At a 5* hotel this really should be included in the room rate. However, you do receive bottles of water and a smoothie included in the price.|The hotel facilities and decor are very high quality - light, modern and spacious. We stayed in a lateral sea view superior room and we loved the layout with the open plan bathroom and good sized balcony. The bed was huge and very comfortable! ||Breakfast was exceptional - buffet style but you can order omelettes and freshly cooked eggs of your preference. There was a huge selection to cater for all tastes and it was lovely to sit with a view of the sea just across the road!||We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening, this was excellent with great service and a very reasonable cost. ||The price of drinks in the hotel was also very reasonable and you can order drinks at the pool bar which staff bring to your sunbed.||The beach bar was very good, we enjoyed a tapas lunch and there was a good selection available on the menu.||All staff were wonderful and the service was very high quality from check in to departure. ||The sunbeds around the pool are very comfortable and there is plenty of shade available. The pool was rather cold and quite shallow which was a little disappointing but you can swim in the little bay just across the road!||We don't often return to hotels but we will most definitely be returning when we want to escape for rest and relaxation!||Tips:|The walk along the promenade to Sitges takes around 25 minutes. The tourist train runs every 30 minutes and there is a stop just opposite the hotel into town but this doesn't have a marked stop (bus shelter only). 2 euros per person single or 5 euros return. There are numerous stops and all clearly marked with the tourist train sign. Be aware that although the timetable states summer programme starts 15th June when we visited after this date it wasn't yet operating so there is a gap between 2 - 5pm.||There are many tapas bars in Sitges and the prices are very reasonable. ||Sitges has a vibrant centre with busy bars and nightclubs on the main street but if you head towards the big church there are lots of small, winding streets that are very traditional and much more peaceful!||Just next to the hotel if you walk out and head left and away from the beach for 2 minutes there are beautiful, peaceful gardens!||If you use the train to travel be very vigilant - our passports were stolen on our way back to the airport!

Beautiful 5 star hotel. Welcome drink on arrival. Staff were always very helpful . Pool lovely too. There are some beds you need to reserve for an extra cost, and you get a bottle of bubbly with it. |The hotel is about 15min walk to the town centre. It's a nice walk along the beach watching all the huge houses along rhe way. If you are not wanting to walk there is a little train that goes every 30 min for 3 euros. The breakfast(25€) is continental and hot breakfast. You can get a prosecco too. You can hire bikes/scooters

The hotel and amenities are pretty posh and comfortable, The front desk is very helpful and available. The hotel is somewhat short on waitstaff, particularly at the pool bar where you can wait a very long time to get a drink or lunch. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious and the rooftop bar is lovely. Our room had an ideal view of the sea, but the sling back loungers on our terrace were very uncomfortable - particularly if you wanted to read a book or your laptop and there is no umbrella to provide shade. Value for price was about right to perhaps slightly lower than expected.

The ME Sitges Terramar is a stylish, sophisticated and fabulous hotel. It always feels cool, and the vibe and the beach front location is amazing. It’s definitely the best ‘big brand’ hotel in Sitges, and is a 20 minute walk into the town along the front which is great to stretch your legs after a day lying by the pool. The team at this hotel make all the difference with Guille heading up the front of house Concierge team and making all your requests come true, and Ruben working poolside bringing excellent service and a smile along with your drinks and lunch! Check out the tuna poke salad and the strawberry daiquiris! The whole team and operation works perfectly and it’s our go-to hotel every time we visit Sitges. Genuinely can’t fault it. It’s fantastic and I can’t recommend it enough.

We recently stayed here and couldn’t recommend it more. The hotel itself is beautiful (it always smells lovely!) and the range of services and food options were great. All of the staff were extremely helpful and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. In particular, we benefited from the ME + services and Guille looked after us spectacularly. He let us know of the perks of our stay and arranged a number of amazing things for us including a private paella making class which we loved. He was so helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable than we expected. The chef that taught the paella making class was also fantastic and the paella and all of the food we had at the hotel was delicious. I also had a massage at the spa and it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had! We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels but the overall service and atmosphere here was some of the best we’ve ever experienced. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Amazing staff who really try and accommodate and help you. Comfy bed - super clean and welcoming hotel.|Can be a little noisy at night and really busy at weekends. ||Some of the patio slabs need securing down in the breakfast, pool and on the 7th floor radio bar.
