We stayed in a private room and it was generally a pleasant experience, though not perfect.
The hostel is located in a convenient area not too far from Taipei Main Station. I loved that there was a 7-11 on the ground floor. The surrounding area is fun to explore.
They don't have a cafe anymore. The old cafe area is now just the front desk and isn't set up for lounging. The fourth floor has a kitchen and lounging area but was eerily quiet every time I was there. Definitely not a social vibe if that's what you're looking for.
In lieu of the cafe, they had vouchers that you could use at select shops in the area for a discount, which was nice.
The rooms were basic but comfortable. Perfect size for 1-2 people and includes a sink, TV and mini fridge. On the third floor there are a few public toilets shared with other units but I always struggled to lock the door as the locks seemed to be malfunctioning.
While my stay was pleasant enough, I don't know if I would stay here again. There wasn't much of a hostel vibe and the private room price was not competitive with other nearby hotels. But it wasn't bad, and could be a great fit for the right person.
