Meander 1948

We stayed in a private room and it was generally a pleasant experience, though not perfect. The hostel is located in a convenient area not too far from Taipei Main Station. I loved that there was a 7-11 on the ground floor. The surrounding area is fun to explore. They don't have a cafe anymore. The old cafe area is now just the front desk and isn't set up for lounging. The fourth floor has a kitchen and lounging area but was eerily quiet every time I was there. Definitely not a social vibe if that's what you're looking for. In lieu of the cafe, they had vouchers that you could use at select shops in the area for a discount, which was nice. The rooms were basic but comfortable. Perfect size for 1-2 people and includes a sink, TV and mini fridge. On the third floor there are a few public toilets shared with other units but I always struggled to lock the door as the locks seemed to be malfunctioning. While my stay was pleasant enough, I don't know if I would stay here again. There wasn't much of a hostel vibe and the private room price was not competitive with other nearby hotels. But it wasn't bad, and could be a great fit for the right person.

It was a great pleasure staying there! The room I had and the shared facilities were clean and well equipped. The common area was great for hanging out and meeting others. My personal highlight was the very friendly staff that gave me so many travel recommendations and the trip to Keelung that was organized by the hostel! Highly recommend.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! It was clean and comfortable and the staff were absolutely amazing and helped us with changing rooms and even calling a nearby temple to help us book accommodation. Also the common area had a very friendly vibe - stay here if you can!

I stayed one night in a dormitory room at this hotel. The location is very convenient. Everything was clean and functional. The bed linen was soft and comfortable. The common living and dining area was bright, spacious, and stylish — so was the shared shower space. The staff were kind, polite, and always smiling. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but they provide a meal voucher that can be used at selected local restaurants nearby. If I come back to Taipei, I’d like to stay here again.

Loved this hostel, highly recommend! Rooms are really clean and modern, each bed has its own curtain, charging ports and lights. Bathrooms are clean and modern and social space is very nice. Hostel isn’t super social if you are looking to meet other travellers, but a perfect base for exploring Taipei. BIG call out to the staff, in particular PJ and Daniel who were extremely kind and helpful

It was my last minute booking; glad to stay in this place, it is like staying in a minimalist and super clean with modern amenities with daily towel change, slippers to use, coffee/tea’s supply. Can’t ask more on this budget hostel. they also hv private rooms. Great location too

Great place to stay right in the heart of Taipei. Very clean and tidy rooms with good communal space. Audi and the rest of the team were amazing hosts - super knowledgeable and helpful about the surrounding areas. Would highly recommend.

By far the best hostel I have ever been at. Great location very close to the Taipei central station and many important bus lines (especially for day trips in Yangmingshan National Park or Jiufen). I stayed in both a 4bed dorm and private room during my stay, both were very clean, comfortable and well furnished. Common area is cosy and it’s easy to make new friends. A big thank you to PJ and all the staff that made my stay really special by being so kind, welcoming and full of great advice for day trips outside of Taipei.
