The reviews might confuse you. I’ll do my best to fix that. If you’re seeking NY-style pizza, you won’t find it here. If you want fast-food chain pizza, you won’t find that either. What you will find is high-quality ingredients that can be used to concoct creative pizzas. Due to high-quality ingredients and innovative concepts, they charge a premium. It really depends what you like. I prefer NY-style pizza but this style of pizza is also enjoyable. I do believe the food here is overpriced despite the aforementioned benefits, but maybe you can try to justify it because of the unique small-town vibe and experience, which includes Innovation Brewing on the river right next door. Getting back to Meatballs, the staff is friendly, the prices are high, the food is good (the more creative you get, the more you are likely to enjoy it), the atmosphere is small-town and chill, and that is all. It depends what you like. I included two photos so Sylva folk know my identity. I pop into random places when in this town when playing poker at Cherokee. One bar thought I was ALE so I pretended to hide the I was a spy. I’m not a spy 😂. The truth is that my review of that bar on a previous visit got them more than 80,000 views but I didn’t say anything and stayed humble about it (unlike here).

My daughter goes to WCU, she’s 8 hours away & homesick for Mommas cooking. I ordered easily on their menu. I also called to ask if they could put everything separate. Everything was EXCEPTIONAL! The customer service over the phone & my daughter’s interaction with staff both above average. I’m sorry I can’t remember the sweet girls name that answered the phone (The name ended in Annie I believe). My daughter said she LOVED the vibe & everyone was super friendly. The food did not disappoint, my daughter said she couldn’t help but eat an extra meatball. The bread was super fresh & DON’T skip the Mississippi Mud Pie.

After reading the other reviews I was excited to try this pizza place. Yes, they have a wood burning oven and it smells great inside, but the pizza is all dough with little toppings. I ordered the meatball pie because the place is named ‘Meatballs” and there was less than one meat ball chopped up and spread across the entire pie. If you like a lot of dough, then this place is for you.

5 Stars – Worth Every Bite! We’re visiting from Saint Augustine, Florida, and almost didn’t come because of some of the recent reviews — but WOW are we glad we did! Honestly, those negative reviews must’ve come from folks having a bad day or relying on DoorDash (which never does a place like this justice). Don’t let them steer you wrong. The moment we took our first bite, we had to ask if they used “00” flour — the crust immediately reminded us of V’s Pizza in Jax, which is saying a LOT. It was light, crisp, and had that perfect chew that only great dough can give you. We ordered Karen’s Meatball Pizza and a classic Pepperoni, and both were absolutely incredible. You can taste the freshness in every single ingredient — nothing processed or bland here. The flavors popped and everything felt homemade in the best way. This is one of those rare gems you’re thrilled to stumble upon while traveling. We’ll be talking about this place long after the trip — and if we’re ever back in Sylva, we’re definitely coming back!

Great locally owned wood fired brick oven restaurant. The building appears to be a re-purposed older business. While never designed to be a restaurant they have made a cozy little area to enjoy a quick bite. The pizza was great and took less than 10 minutes from ordering to eating. The parking is Street only and this area can be quite busy so you'll likely have a bit of a walk. But that won't hurt any of us. 😄 We aren't local to this area but if we are back in this picturesque little mountain town we will be back.

Had a great pint at Innovation Brewing with a pizza from next-door Meatballs Pizza. Loved both! The pizza was fantastic, and the IPA refreshing. Highly recommend the combination!

We haven’t been to Meatballs in quite some time. Decided to go the other day and give them another try. Boy was it delicious!! Ordered the Winter Harvest salad, the calzone of the day and a slice of hearthstone pizza. Everything tasted wonderful and fresh. The combination of ingredients was perfect, both sweet and savory. We will certainly be back.
