Mec Coffee

I really like this place. It didn't get 5 stars because you look on to Crwys Rd (which I feel bad about). The coffee is delicious (a bit on the pricey side) and the pastries are sourced hyper-locally (literally within walking distance). The owner is very friendly and promotes a very relaxed atmosphere. There is good wifi too.

Superb local coffee shop - ideal for a book and a genuine relaxation. They do have events on occasion - a blues and jazz band plays every second Sunday morning!

Had the best time here, such a brilliant spot for coffee. Miranda was a star, serving up a delicious filter and paired it with a beautiful banana cake. Perfect 10/10!

Really sorry but the 1kg coffee beans I purchased was awful. Now I’m stuck with the pack which I’ll probably throw in the bin. Cost £32 so not cheap either. Purchased 1kg from 200 degree coffee for £26 and got 2 free coffee vouchers and coffee a lot nicer!

Delicious coffee and friendly service! I would highly recommend Mec. The space is also pleasant with a good amount of seating that isn't totally visible if you were to just glance in walking past. It could have been a little warmer inside given it was a chilly day. I'll be back

Mec is a small but perfectly formed cafe and one of the best places in Cardiff to get an artisanal coffee. The owner/barista Will is friendly and very knowledgeable about the coffee they use and the various brewing techniques. Also, it’s not just coffee that they excel at, the hot chocolate is one of the best my wife has ever tasted! I would highly recommend stopping by Mec!

I love coming here. Mec have the best filter coffee menu in the city, with beans hailing from a range of roasters near and far; it’s always spot on. Also a bonus that Will is just one of the kindest (coffee) people around.
