I love old style cafe's from a long gone era and this one fits the criteria. The floor tiles were the talk of the town, the booths cosy and open, the mirrors would have reflected the warm lights adding to the homely atmosphere. It's open and yet private and one can spend the short wait time for the order admiring the decor, then let the imagination go wild about the events, good times and love triangles and secrets told and kept in this cafe. It has a great feel to it so look through the decor and enjoy the ambiance. Oh yes the food. Again, I am not a lover of runny eggs so I was very pleased they made them to my liking. It must have been good because there's nothing left. 🤪

Amazing Cafe with an absolutely delicious menu, cakes, burgers, milk shakes, juices and coffee.. hmmmm coffee. Go see Todd and Kelly and have a cuppa, feed and a chat. You won't be disappointed. 👍😁

Groovy cafe established 1932 still with most original fixtures. Transported me to the 1950s.

I visited this place at around 1pm in the afternoon on a sunday. It wasn't that busy yet it took about 30 to 40 minutes to get our food and on top of that they almost forgot about the sides we ordered. The food was only warm, no sauce on the soggy chips and my partners burger was burnt. The only real positive was the milkshake and the decor. Only go here for a milkshake or if you have a fetish for being mildly disappointed.

Not a lover gave this place a few chances and the staff are always rude, or its to hard. The burgers we had were crap.. why to much fat on the bacon and I had to remove it my self. (It was a takeaway) another time I asked for a salad wrap it was like it had been put in a blender. I had to throw it out. It was so terrible. Super sad.. I know other people that love it. I'm not sure if that's because you can smoke there or not. But not on my top cafes in Lismore.

Mecca Cafe is where I have my morning coffee. It is the oldest coffee shop in Lismore. The retro vintage decor is a must see. The coffee is good and the meals are very well priced for someone on a budget. And I love the daily newspapers that are there for customers to read. So many coffee shops have one major newspaper expecting it to be shared amongst 30 odd customers. This is never an issue at The Mecca. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I once lost my phone elsewhere in town and they allowed me to use their phone til mine was located. Another time I had left my wallet behind - not a problem and I was able to fix them up next time. They dont have to do this but in doing so it makes my experience so much better.

Not bad coffee. Looks like some damage may have occurred during the flood. Kitchen was a bit of a mess. Sign says Established 1928 and others say 1932. Which is right? Very popular spot for lunch and coffee. Service was slow and staff seem confused. Several times waitress offered food to wrong table. Could be a training thing, but just need some streamlining.

Great food and the service is mostly above average. This place is known locally for its art deco feel and Lismore's nostalgic eatery. However I find it looks old, dusty and tired. I just don't get the vibe that many of the locals seem to enjoy. Attracts an interesting crowd. Noisy women that make sure everyone can hear thir conversations and the local junkies coming in for a coffee hit on payday seem to be the majority of patrons.
