Good to be back to one of the OG small bars in Perth. Chilled vibe on their rooftop deck drinking those well made cocktails. Drinks are always balanced here and bartenders are experienced enough to go off menu if you want something different. Always a welcoming place on that deck.

Google
Cool place with the seating area built onto stair-like plateus. Industrially designed and a good selection of drinks. Definitely worth a visit, and hopefully you'd get one of the two tables looking out over the street. A little too few beers on selection for me personally, but I would not say no if going with someone who hasn't been here before.

A very nicely made bar accessed by laneway - good friendly staff in a relaxed environment. Lots of beers and wines to select at reasonable prices

Tucked away in a Laneway, this bar has good amount of seating inside and out. The staff are knowledgeable with drinks and cocktails and make a killer negroni. Well worth hunting down if you’re in Perth.

Nestled in the heart of Northbridge, The Mechanics' Institute Bar stands as a testament to the seamless fusion of historical charm and contemporary allure. Having recently had the pleasure of experiencing this establishment, I find myself compelled to share the nuances that make it a standout in Perth's vibrant bar scene. From the moment I stepped through its doors, I was greeted by an atmosphere that effortlessly marries the echoes of the past with the pulsating energy of the present. The allure of The Mechanics' Institute Bar lies not only in its historical roots but in the carefully curated ambiance that envelopes patrons. The building's late 1800s origins, once home to technical education pursuits, provide a distinctive backdrop. The architectural elements, preserved with a nod to its past, seamlessly blend with modern design, creating a space that is both charmingly nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary. It's a visual journey through time, where every corner reveals a story, adding depth to the overall experience. One of the highlights that captivated my evening was the exceptional music selection. The atmosphere was alive with a carefully curated soundtrack that elevated the overall mood. The tunes, ranging from eclectic mixes to well-chosen live performances, added an extra layer of vibrancy to the space. Whether you're seeking a laid-back ambiance to unwind or a more energetic vibe to kick off the night, The Mechanics' Institute Bar seems to have mastered the art of setting the right musical tone. The bar's prowess extends beyond its auditory offerings; it's also a haven for connoisseurs of expertly crafted cocktails. The menu, a testament to creativity and mixology finesse, boasts a selection of unique concoctions that are as visually appealing as they are delightful to the palate. Each sip tells a story, with ingredients carefully chosen to evoke a spectrum of flavors. From classic favorites with a twist to signature creations that push the boundaries of mixology, the cocktail experience at The Mechanics' Institute Bar is an exploration of taste and innovation. Ascending to the upper deck, I discovered a gem that further enhanced my visit – the smoking area. Set against the backdrop of Northbridge's skyline, this elevated space provides a tranquil retreat for those looking to indulge in a smoke while enjoying the fresh air. It's a thoughtful addition that adds versatility to the overall experience, catering to different preferences within the same establishment. In summary, my time at The Mechanics' Institute Bar was nothing short of exceptional. The seamless integration of historical significance, vibrant music, and expertly crafted cocktails creates an atmosphere that invites patrons to savor every moment. The upper deck's smoking area adds an extra layer of versatility, ensuring that whether you're seeking a laid-back evening or an energetic night out, this establishment has something to offer. It's not just a bar; it's an immersive journey through time and taste, making it a perennially great choice for those looking to indulge in the rich tapestry of Perth's nightlife.

4 boys in the bathroom and three bar staff helped me get into my hair product tin. My slick sexy night is a toast to mechanics the culture and the atmosphere. A true rarity. Love you all

Recieved a wine I wasn't quite happy with tonight. The bar staff offered me an alternative/replacment without any commotion or uplift. A generous display of hospitality which speaks to this venues legendary staus. Thanks black shirt, gold earing.

One of my faves to visit when we come to Perth - great wine, great service and always love the soundtrack.

Yelp
Mechanics is usually a starting point on a night out to Northbridge or a drink in the afternoon after some shopping or a movie. And ordering chips or a burger from Flipside is an added bonus. Love this place, from the friendly, funny and knowledgeable bartenders to the rooftop area where you can people watch on the street below, the awesome tunes playing and the delicious cocktails! What more could you want in a bar!?!

Yelp
How could I not have ever written a review on this place when I am the Duchess? Or I ought to be. I visit often enough. I don't think I need to repeat what everyone else said. Every single time I have been to this establishment, whether it's been busy or not so, I've been treated with warmth and, dare I say it - *real* hospitality. I've never seen a punch up, anyone frog-marched outta there, not even the hint of a spat. Everyone seems too busy enjoying the tunes, getting in to the vibe, chugging a beer or a delicious cocktail, scoffing some chips or burgers from downstairs, chatting away merrily, sharing tables, smiling, laughing, living life. This bar is my number one stop each and every time I host a guest on what I call a "Perthfect Adventure". It is my strong recommendation for a heart starting cocktail and some tunes to warm up your ears before you skip back down the stairs and involve yourself in that wonderful pocket of Northbridge, where opportunities for a fabulous night abound.

Yelp
With the return of the sun in the past few days, a visit to rooftop bar Mechanics Institute with a drinking chum seemed in order - nothing like sitting in the open, catching a bit of breeze and soaking up some warming rays. Entry is off Lock Lane behind the State Library and up a flight of stairs. Three levels - the lower of them allowing smoking, the other two smoke free - as well as an indoor area which also houses the bar. Tables and benches with umbrellas for shade; the Alex hotel which has been built alongside far from detracting from the atmosphere adds an element of seclusion from the bustle of Northbridge. The bar is above Flipside in William Street, and serves the array of burgers from that establishment; you just order at the bar and after a short wait, up the stairs the order comes. A couple of beers were in order - both displaying very colourful labels - and the contents not letting the exterior down. First a brew from Moondog in Abbotsford, Mack Daddy Dark Ale - dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee aromas; smooth creamy palate, with flavours of liquorice, bitter hops, finishing with a smoky note. The other, another Victorian, this one from Dandenong, Kaiju Beers Hopped Out Red - aromas of stone fruit, malt and creamed toffee. Palate is well balanced between malt and hops and has a mildly bitter finish. Thus replenished we set off, but will no doubt soon return - Mechanics is one of the best bars in town with friendly, chatty and knowledgeable waiters and bar staff, a great and changing range of beers, tidy wine list and excellent cocktails. Always worth a visit, and especially on a warm, sunny day.

Yelp
Love this place! If dining is happening in Northbridge, we would definitely end the night at Mechanic's Institute for a night cap. The bartenders there are fun to talk to and they certainly know what they are doing. If you can't make up your mind, just tell them what you feel like having , aka: citrusy drink, milky, whatever and they will come up with something that suits your preferences.

Yelp
Been drinking here ever sinc i moved to Perth. Wouldnt miss a friday arvo there.

Yelp
I like this place. I mean I REALLY like this place. It has a cute, small inside bar with knowledgeable bartenders who change their cocktail menu daily. I had the 75 which was a delicious pomegranate and apple concoction. They'll pretty much make any drink for you that's not on the menu too, how lovely. The bar staff must practice yoga daily, as they were super zen and patient dealing with the 3 row deep line and endless burger orders. The crowd is 25+ (hoorah!) and is cool without being super hipster. The music played over the speakers is just my type - early 90s! Stunning views of the city and State Theatre kept drawing my eyes away from the people I was having conversations with. Get there early on weekend nights to secure a table, and by early I mean before 6pm

Yelp
Mechanics' is where you want to be on a sunny Perthy afternoon. Sweet rooftop, chilled out atmosphere plus a well-stocked and well-manned bar. The checkered bartender let me try one of their genuine house made maraschino cherries, reserved for cocktails. I can report it was super delicious. There's an obvious crowd of 20-something and 30-something hipsters and culture vultures i.e.: early adopters. I hope it sticks. No doozies, no wet blankets, just the sun, drinks and as Ben G. importantly notes- cool music. A healthy dose of hip-hop and tunes that keep you guessing and remembering. I had an Ah-haaa moment when Thurston Harris' 'Itty Bitty Pretty One' came on. Mathilda, anyone? Added attractions include art install by this dude- http://kylehughesodgers.com/ -along the lane way en route, and getting your burgers delivered from Flipside downstairs. Lazy, happy days.

Yelp
Five stars. Yes yes yes I just put down five stars. If you've never ready any of my reviews, then you're like "meh five stars, could be good". Mate, when I put five stars, I mean business. The Mechanics Institute is accessed from street level and doesn't seem like much. But it's always a good sign when they don't let everyone in, you know the place won't be too crowded. You access the bar area through a outdoor area on split levels, with tables and people sitting and chatting. And the first signs of a good bar are here: the glasses look nice, they are empty for the larger part and what's left in some of them looks very nice to a thirsty traveller. You enter the bar and the signs of a great bar are here: rows over rows of liquors and spirits overlooking with critical stares the work of busy yet confident bartenders Whisky names that will echo through eternity, rums that have trapped many a soul in the arms of one-night lovers, tequilas that free the body and vodka that open your inner circle of hell: they all wait for you. Whether you drink it as a cocktail, neat, shot, sculled or in some weird personal tradition, there is something for you in there, in an ambiance of indoors dimmed lighting or outdoor festive woodshack. You can say it in low hushed conversations with mysterious strangers or act it out to pretty flashy brunettes. You can drink or you can laugh. You can only love.

Yelp
Mechanics is apparently the best small bar in the country. And I agree with the award it was given. It's always busy, their drinks are outstanding and the team are so fun. Burgers from flipside (downstairs) keep you full and their signature cocktails stop you from getting thirsty. If you're looking for a combination of the two, head down on a Sunday for an epic Bloody Mary. I could talk for hours about why the bar is one of perth's best, but you deserve to experience it first hand. (Order a ruckus juice)

Yelp
I love this place. It has such a great vibe. Their roof is definitely one of the best places in the city to hang out and talk, and the inside area is both comfy and funky. Every time I go there, I'm always struck by how much I enjoy the music they play. Their relationship with Flipside downstairs means they can offer tasty, filling, reasonably priced food without diverting their attention away from the important stuff: drinks! The cocktails here are awesome. Not like the expensive and tasteless glass of ice with watered down fruit juice that passes for a cocktail at many Perth bars nowadays. Two thumbs up!

Yelp
Progressive lunch continues to drink o'clock. Please read my Perth Thailicious & Superstar waffles reviews. We decided a few of us hasn't been to Mechanics' Institute before, we'll go there for drinkies. This place is tugged away. I will probably never find this place unless you know about it. It's a hip place with quite a bit of sitting area. I love the outdoor area where people could chill when the weather is fine. Smoking is permitted outside. As I'm not a huge drinker, I'm the anything goes kinda gal. Had lime, soda water & vodka. It's a nice light drink to have after having a nice lunch & dessert. One day, I might go back again or who knows I might get an invite to hv drinkies there again. Mechanics' Institute, I know you now...

Yelp
My. friend and I decided that we would drop by Mechanics' Institute before the Food Truck Rumble last Sunday and it turned out to be the hands down best decision I have made all year! In days of yore (circa 1800s) Mechanics' Institutes were places for adult learning, and provided a welcome alternative to gambling halls and pubs. In today's world Mechanics Institute with its rooftop views, cool tunes and relaxed vibe in keeping with tradition offers us a break from the mundane! The warm and friendly greeting we got as soon as we walked through the door certainly got our attention and put a smile on our faces. We were handed the menus to peruse and I glanced over it even though I had already decided on my choice beforehand. After seeing the fantastic photos and reading the great reviews, I felt I had to try the legendary - Epic Bloody Mary! Wow, it blew my socks off and I have talked of little else since then. It had all the hallmarks of a great Bloody Mary with just the right amount of Tabasco to add piquancy! In addition to a lovely, fresh stick of celery it was dressed up with assorted food on sticks which made me very happy! There was a delicious, mini cheese burger, a cheeky sausage, a wedge of smoked cheese, a tiny pickled onion, a cherry tomato and a cornichon! It's like a party in a jar and certainly left me satisfied! I also indulged in a chilled glass of white wine, while my friend was well pleased with the red wine recommended by the wonderful bar staff! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and are willing to advise if you are unsure when you place your order. The service is so good that you are hardly out the door and you are looking forward to your next visit! I plan on going back with workmates this coming Friday as I want to share this place with everyone. Can't wait to sample more cocktails and a nice burger with fries! The are options as regards to seating but I would recommend the rooftop in order to enjoy the fresh air and the lovely sunshine. It is an idyllic way to while away an afternoon and you will walk away feeling relaxed and full of joie de vivre! Trending bars may come and go but at Mechanics' Institute they are on point!

Yelp
I'd heard lots about this bar and when I was asked to drinks I thought it was about time I went to see what all the hype was about. Really don't know why I waited so long to check it out. What a great bar. I went around lunch time, had a couple of drinks and a burger. Loved the whole set up of the place. Comfy couches on the inside near the bar and tables and chairs on the outside. The tables are set up for people to eat if they want, they have knives, forks and sauce sitting at the end of the tables. The burger I had was one of the best I've had in a long time and I look forward to trying something different next time. Staff are super friendly and am looking forward to heading back their again soon.

Yelp
I like Mechanics. I have been here twice. Once we got there quite late on a Friday which was a big mistake because of the big line and the tiny space inside. But the other time I learnt my lesson and went early on a Sunday which was nice. It is pretty easy going inside, I like that they have a lot of shade and everyone shares tables. The burgers are great. I really liked the bloody mary. For 20 something bucks you get a bloody mary, a mini burger and a sausage and cheese and it comes out pretty cool aswell all hanging of the huge celery stick. The staff are friendly aswell. I would definitely go back but remember to get there early if you want a table.

Yelp
We popped into this bar after dinner at No Mafia and I'm glad we did. The indoor space is very cozy and perfect on a winter night, while their outdoor patio looks perfect for a warmer night. We tried a few of their suggested cocktails - it seems like whisky based cocktails are their specialty - and they were all very good, and quite interesting. Service was efficient and friendly. A great spot.

Yelp
I love a hip bar that I can feel completely at ease at, be sure to receive great hospitality and can munch down on delectable burgers whilst I sip my cider on tap, lovely cheap wine or masterfully concocted cocktail... So this place has my vote. Try the lunch time mini burger and chips from Flipside, which you can order at the bar, and soak up the sunshine whilst taking in the lovely Perth City skyline. It's a win in my book.

Yelp
Mechanics Institute is one of the many small bars in this area. the Mechanics Institute stands out from the crowd by serving flip side burgers from the shop down stairs! Who doesn't love a delish burger with their Friday night beer or cider?! The Mechanics Institute has a good range of drinks from tasty cocktails (high teens$) to a nice selection of wine by the glass (low teens$) or bottle. The outdoor seating is superb, plenty of group tables and protection from the sun with umbrellas and supplied sunscreen for those of us who get sun burnt in a flash. I am yet to drop by for the famous Bloody Mary Sunday but I have been told by friends that it is an occasion not to be missed! The bar staff seem friendly enough and are capable to sipping up a mean drink. The venue is pretty loud inside with fairly loud background music for the small space, best to sit outside if you are wanting to chat.

Yelp
Love this place! It's small, intimate and quirky! Love the playlist! I was singing along to ever tune !!brought out the Whitney Houston j The drinks are delicious !! Hillbilly somethings was just yummy! Oh and found a new drink! Spiced rum with apple juice ! Simple, healthy (;p) and yummy! Love the fact that they can make a good hot toddy too!! Great bar staff!! Not sure what they're on but they are always smiling and so happy!! It is tucked away in an alley for those who has never been so a little tricky to find - but when there ! Definitely guaranteed a good time !

Yelp
I really enjoy this place. It's a super nice chilled rooftopish bar. It's really unique. Down an alley way and up some stairs, you'll find the entrance to this place. (I have been lost trying to find it once). But conveniently placed. It's a very nice looking bad layout, cocktail bar with plenty on the menu. Bar looked well equipped, which is generally a good sign. I recommend this place highly for a few drinks on a night out. You can even order burgers from the joint downstairs and they bring it to you. Great set up. I will be coming back here for sure. Good for groups but anymore than 10 might get abut crowded.
google avatar

Laura N.

Yelp
My oh my, I lurrvveeee this bar. And apparently so does everyone else in Perth. Maybe it's the urban industrial-chic rooftop, maybe it's the cutie bartenders that serve up both classic and frilly cocktails like the best of 'em, but there's just something great about the place that's undeniable. Get here early and often.
google avatar

Alexa M.

Yelp
My new favourite haunt! Always a new drink to try and the bartenders are really helpful and friendly. If you are a whisky fan, this is your place. They have a huge selection of whiskeys, which are great on their own but they also do make some really interesting cocktails. My favourite is the Rye & Apple, rye whiskey and freshly juiced green apple; delicious. Music is a fantastic mix from classic rock, grunge, blues and girly pop, and really adds to the fun atmosphere. Only downside is that it is usually extremely busy, and after 7 on a Friday you will usually find a 10+ deep line out front. It's still a great mid week hangout and is ideal for after work drinks.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite bar in Perth! Big beer list and a great outside seating area (both smoking and non-smoking sections), and just the right area to catch the sun and not be freezing even during the winter! Not such a good spot in the rain though... Great atmosphere with good views and easily accessible, you can't find much better, especially with the huge beer and liquor selection! You can also have food brought up from the burger joint downstairs which is pretty nice as well, but that's just an added bonus.
google avatar

Casey H.

Yelp
Such a successful new addition to Perth! I love so much about Mechanics! Their rooftop/outdoor seating, keeping the awesome heritage facade, cocktails all under $20 (very boozy), Flipside burgers and incredibly friendly unpretentious staff. You have to be lucky or crazy persistent to get an outside table for a big group. But if your out with a group of 2-3 you should always be able to find somewhere to sit. All I can say is good work!
google avatar

Lynn M.

Yelp
At the risk of sounding like I have taken a time machine back to the 90s, I have to say....This Place Is The Bomb. The little unassuming building in Northbridge offers indoor and outdoor seating and a very attractive stock list behind the bar. The staff are very knowledeable and will answer any question you have to ensure that you are drinking exactly what it is that you are in the mood for. They will also put your credit card behind the bar to make ordering more drinks easier, keeping the lines small and encouraging you to drink that extra foreign beer. Plus, it is great value! Exactly what Northbridge needs and what Perth wants.

Matt S.

Yelp
This is now my favourite bar in Perth. As an out of Towner the staff here have gone above and beyond to make me feel at home. Love the fresh apple and rum and the casual conversation. Rooftop area looks great for a few afternooners and feels like a great starting point. Thanks for making The west coast feel like home.
google avatar

Brad M.

Yelp
Had a burger and cocktail for lunch there today. Nice little outdoor setting between two buildings with an entrance from the back alley. VERY good drinks. You gotta give it up for a bar that stamps it's logo into your ice cube! No table service, but friendly staff and decent food.
google avatar

Alexandra H.

Yelp
How have I not reviewed Mechanics Institute yet? This is my number 1 favourite bar in Perth! It is nicely hidden down an alleyway from all then Northbridge riff raff. The bar staff are always so friendly and definitely know what they are doing when it comes to booze! They are always winning awards for their bartending skills and it really shows with the quality of cocktails on offer. They also have a really great range of beer & wine. The drinks are pretty standard prices for Perth but considering the quality you get, it is great value. You can order burgers at the bar that are bought up from Flipside down stairs which are cheap & delicious. There is plenty of seating for both smokers and non-smokers, with some tables getting a great view over William street, there are also some couches inside for cold nights. There is always funky music playing which adds to the already great vibe of this place. Come on Sunday for their "Epic bloody mary" which comes with a mini cheese burger and all sorts of delicious snacks as garnishes, it is amazing!

Yelp
I have recently returned to Perth after several years living in the UK, and I often get asked 'is it hard assimilating back into life at a slower pace'... Well, it's places like the Mechanics' Institute that are making it easier for me to reply to that question with a resounding 'not at all'. My first visit to this cooler-than-cool rooftop bar was on one of those idyllic Perth afternoons. Not a cloud in the sky, funky tunes on the stereo, a beer in my hand and some of the yummiest burgers (and chips!) going around. I doubt it will be my last visit. In fact, I look forward to making it a regular haunt of mine this summer and becoming a connoisseur of their delectable looking cocktail menu. I say, who needs Brick Lane when you have William Street. And the sun. Bring on that Perth summer.
google avatar

Yelp
Great vibe, great beer, great whiskey snd bourbon selection, delicious burgers served from Flipside below. Great hip and viby spot!

Yelp
The cat is out of the bag; this place is the pajamas and there's already a cult following. The downside is you have to gear up for war, ready and willing to throw em' bows and showcase your eagle eyes to score a seat. Patience is a virtue and so is strategically planning your visit, as I've seen the line well down the stairs just waiting for a taste of the Mechanics' Institute. A Saturday night? Bold move, Sir. I'm more of a Tuesday around 6:00 pm kind of gal. There ain't no line-dancing here folks. Just room for a dozen or so picnic tables kissed by the sun for you and your closest friends. It's a shame that roof top bars don't stretch down the length of William Street; that would be a heck of a pub crawl. As a beer drinking girl (don't you dare confuse that with cider), I was left wishing for more options. In fact, there were only two beers on tap... of which they ran out (therefore, the loss of a star). A bar... with two taps... that run-out? Shut the front door. That's like Chicken Treat running out of chicken (true story). No discounts or comps in both situations. My stingy-self went with a $5 all-malt beer. My taste buds exclaimed, "No dice." It appears this place prides itself on cocktails with fun, fruity words. There you have it. Mechanic's Institute is sexy. If you don't think Mechanics are sexy, you don't know Jax Teller. Pat on the back for the burger/bar relationship. I'm head over heels for drinking and food connections... even it is a bowl or two of french fries (with ample ketchup). Grease it up.

Yelp
Thanks to the Laneway night markets over the Australia Day long weekend, I finally checked out this awesome small bar. I knew of it when it first opened but somehow slipped my mind - I'm pretty certain that won't be happening any more! I really like the fit out, the location, the ambiance, bartenders' knowledge of cocktails, not a bad whisky range (so I've been told) and the music covers all genres from Big Poppa by The Notorious B.I.G. to Tame Impala. You can order burgers from Flipside Burgers if you are feeling peckish. Couldn't see the fireworks from where we sat but it was a very relaxed summer evening. Will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Tracey S.

Yelp
Had my bday here on a Friday night a few weeks ago! It's a great location - I love how they have utilised the small rooftop area, though it's small, it's perfect for a catch up with friends. There are plenty of tables but you do have to get there nice and early to score a big one if you have about 10 people coming. They make Great cocktails and I felt the prices were quite reasonable. I'll definitely go back for my next catch up!
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
Tucked away between two buildings I can't help but keep coming back here. The food is excellent and the service is great. Excellent range of drinks and plenty of outside seating (weather permitting). Very good for after work drinks with friends.
google avatar

Jacinta E.

Yelp
Voted Perth's best small bar and you can see why, they serve giant Bloody Mary's with mini burgers, friggin genius!! (Sundays only) for recovery reasons obviously.. Great big deck to hang out in with separate levels and before the building next door went up there was a killer view of the city but oh well the drinks and atmosphere will keep you coming back for more!
google avatar

Natalie F.

Yelp
Currently my favorite bar in Perth! I only wish that there wasn't always a line to get in, but that's generally everywhere in Perth now. I love the music they play, a good mix of new and old school (old school later in the night when you've had too much to drink and Phil Collins is cool!). They have the friendliest bar staff who are willing to make cocktails off the menu - the Espresso Martini is especially delish. I always have heaps of fun here and look forward to going back.
google avatar

Mariea C.

Yelp
Been here a few times over the last couple of years. It's a lovely set-up with the outdoor area and stylish indoor area - even though it is quite small. It can get quite packed on weekends. They have a great wine, beer, cider list & a huge selections of liquor behind the bar. It's a great place to relax for a chat with friends after work. The staff are lovely & not over the top trendy which is refreshing.
google avatar

Lucinda W.

Yelp
Mechanics is a really cool bar in the heart of Northbridge. It has a great outdoor seating which gives you lovely views of the city. It is very small so if you are wanting to get a table with a larger group of people you will want to get there early- otherwise it is easy to grab a table any time of the night with a group of 2-4 people. The drinks are reasonably priced as well with cocktails being under $20. The staff are also really friendly and easy going.
google avatar

Shane K.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed visiting Mechanics. It's pretty chilled and the crowd is always good. Definitely the type of bar I recommend. My criticism has been mentioned in another review - the staff really aren't a cohesive unit. This is especially noticeable if you go from Mechanics and follow it up with, say, Luxe.
google avatar

Jake H.

Yelp
Cool bar! The venue itself is what makes it, nestled in the rooftops of the ever growing William Street, the outdoor decking is awesome and perfect for a nice sunny afternoon of beer and cocktail drinking. Drinks: Drink menu is good! They have Tiger beer on tap running at $8 a pop which is fairly reasonable and Monteiths Cider! Big tick in my book. The cocktails do looks amazing, but I'm yet to personally try them. Food: Food is sourced from Flipside Burgers located below the bar, so food options are limited to what Flipside offers. Obviously if you're a burger fan, then the options are great! :) Vibe: The place is definitely trendy, but without being completely hipster and obnoxious which is great. It's relaxing, laid back, there's a few little breakout areas for groups to congregate around so vibe all round is really positive. Will be making this a regular watering hole for sure for summer 2012/2013 no doubt!

Yelp
This place does awesome cocktails. I love the jungle jim's rum (or something like that). She gets packed.

Yelp
This bar is a great find and growingly one of my favourites in Perth. It is down an alley way and has a quirky and relaxed vibe when you walk up the stairs. Inside you are greeted with a narrow outdoor seating area and a little cosy bar filled with knowledgeable bar staff. They really know their drinks and how to make you a specific personalised one. We had great fun Friday with a Scottish barman who helped get us the prefect rum drinks. It has a great interior and funky music. It is becoming increasingly popular and Friday's are my favourite night to attend, with the atmosphere being so good. Check it out!

Yelp
I come here for the Epic Bloody Marys! Awesome vibe, great music selection. Love the inside/outside flow and the fact that you have to go down an unobtrusive alleyway to get in.

Yelp
Bowie on the radio. Obscure beers. Memorable cocktails. What more could you want?

Yelp
This is my favourite bar in Perth. Awesome selection of beer, great music and fantastic atmosphere. We were there on a Thursday evening and it was just the right amount of patrons for a great time without being too noisy.

Yelp
Perth needs more small bars like this! This little upstairs place off a lane way near Central Tafe is really funky. It has about 8-10 bench seated tables outside and a cool lounge area inside. Creative cocktails, good drinks list too. You can get burgers brought up from the burger bar below. There can be a line but it's cool once you are in.

Yelp
Funky little bar upstairs around a back alley in Northbridge. Like the place and the atmosphere. The cocktails are pretty weak though.

Yelp
Love the large tables, and that people share them which is very untypical for Perth. With the mixed crowd you are sure to make new friends over a cocktail or three. Lovely to sit outside with an eclectic mix of music - and in a central location that is hard to beat.
