This is very historic and interesting ca. 1902. A very special and unique place. Very quiet during night time. Comfortabel bed and beautyful bathroom. WiFi includet. Parking lot for the Car. The room was amazing. Each guest room is named after an island in the bay.|Suzi Frazer Innkeeper is a very nice person. Thank you so much for having us. We enjoyed our stay at the "Meck"

We were a last-minute booking, but Suzy, the long time owner graciously gave us a great room, and recommendation for dinner. she noticed our bicycles and asked if she could store them in the basement for us. The bed was comfortable, the room extra clean, with a great porch overlooking the street. The breakfast was great! One of the best meals of our trip to Nova Scotia. She is a trained chef from the Cordon Bleu.|Highly recommended!

This was a fantastic stop as a friend and I traveled around Nova Scotia. The town is small but charming, with a few shops and restaurants right down the street from the inn -- and there is very easy access to the whole Halifax area, Lunenberg, and some great hiking spots along the coast. Suzi was there to greet us and show us the inn, and she gave recommendations for dinner and for places to visit in the area. The breakfast was as delicious as others have written. Suzi is a fantastic host, and both the rooms and common spaces (that porch!) were really lovely and inviting.

A warm welcome and very appealing atmosphere. The inn is exceptionally clean, beautiful linens and charming victorian decor Suzi’s home cooked breakfast of fresh french toast with sausage and fruit was divine. We felt very much at a home from home and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

The place to stay in Chester.|Suzie, the owner for the past thirty-five years, is a master at creating an atmosphere of comfort and hospitality. I’ve been visiting Chester every summer for the last fifteen years, and I always stay at the Mecklenburgh Inn.||The beds, linens, pillows, quilts, towels, and comforters are all wonderfully luxurious. The Inn is impeccably clean, fresh, and bright, with thoughtful design that makes everything feel effortless and relaxing.||This historic building is centrally located, it’s just steps from shops, restaurants, the theatre, golf, tennis, and yacht clubs. Sailing, hiking, biking, boat tours, and kayaking are right at your doorstep.

Charming place run by the Cordon Bleu-trained Suzi. Her French toast with raspberry compote and whipped cream is worth a cross country flight. Get thee to this inn!

For the past 20 years I have been staying , on numerous occasions both happy and sad, in this establishment right on the shores of a Canadian east coast , fisherman's village named CHESTER . Feeling is like stepping into a Maritimes fairy tale where time has stopped , where great hospitality is given with honour and respect , where jam tastes like REAL jam, where sausages are still home made, where colourful quilts are used for bedding , where clawfoot iron tub awaits for your soaking after a long day walking in the village watching seals and puffins , where even cold wind whispers a happy tunes ...Here , each one of the rooms has beds layered with pillows and throws , PERFECT mattresses , spacious rooms equipped for work, lounging ...reading or simply enjoying seas views from your room . It was peaceful heavenly escape I needed so bad. Huge thank you to my hostess Suzi , the owner, who never stops amazing me with her wit and her culinary skills . And do not try finding anything wrong here as the place , despite all these visual charcuteries is SPOTLESS not a hit of dust anywhere . I do not know how Suzi pulls all this off but she definitely does it with love and it shows

Yelp
This is my favorite place in the world to stay. I visit about once a year, and it feels like home every time I step in. Suzi, the owner, is amazing, and is one of the best chefs I've ever encountered. You will never leave hungry, because her breakfasts are superb. The Inn itself is super cozy and comfortable, and is easy to find with plenty of parking. Everything in Chester is within walking distance, but The Meck is right in the heart of everything. Highly recommend anyone to stay here.
