Meda Gedara Villa

Meda Gedera Villa was an absolutely amazing place to stay, and the experience was made truly special by the incredible staff. Every single person was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind, creating a warm and positive atmosphere throughout our stay. A special mention has to go to Charith and Ruwan, who really stood out. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home — not just like guests, but like family. They are both extremely kind, fun, and full of positive energy. Whether it was helping us with anything we needed, sharing laughs, or just making sure everyone was happy, they went above and beyond every single day. All of the other staff members were just as amazing. They were always attentive, friendly, and ready to help, whether it was with meals, the rooms, or anything else around the villa. You can truly tell that the team cares about the guests and works together to make the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The villa itself is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained, but it’s the people that make Meda Gedera Villa unforgettable. Thanks to Charith, Ruwan, and the entire team, our stay was filled with comfort, laughter, and great memories. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming and joyful experience. I will definitely be coming back in the future -guests from 13 of December to the 27th 2025.

Meda Gedara is a truly, magical, memorable and unique stay. The sumptuous interiors, attention to detail and imposing furnishings make this villa a must-stay. Through the large wooden front door, there is a stunning spiral staircase, opening up to an incredible garden, beautiful pools and ocean view. For the bold, there’s a pool slide but for everyone else, there are picturesque patios, verandas, sun beds and a manicured lawn to enjoy a pot of Ceylon tea by the pool, with a slice of homemade cake. The real stars of the show, of course, are the incredible team making the MG experience the best it can possibly be. Incredible menus, delicious food and unsurpassable service, always with a smile. Thank you to the entire MG family and all it offers for the most wonderful stay.

The process began with the help of our wonderful host Fiona, who helped us plan this getaway for our family of 14 across three generations. The gang was blown away by the property. The huge living spaces, the deck, the pool, the expansive bedrooms. It was all beautiful. The food was spectacular; I’m scared to get on scales to weigh myself after a week of spectacular dining. We loved the cooking class as well as the bike ride through paddy fields. BUT, the highlight was undoubtedly the staff. So considerate and thoughtful- and always smiling. A week in paradise

No words can do justice to the paradise that is MG. You just have to be there to absorb the magic of the Villa, the beautiful staff, the exquisite location and all of the delights that surprise you. MG is a destination in itself, and once you step through the magnificent entrance doors, you will never want to leave. However, there is so much to explore in the surrounding area, you can base yourself here for your entire holiday and have a fully immersive experience in the local culture, with the luxury of returning to Heaven on Earth after your explorations! Just the most beautiful place I have ever visited in my entire life! I will be back!

Our second visit to Meda Gadera and it was just as magical as the first. The house is stunning, the views dreamy and the food is the best we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka. But it’s Charith and his brilliant team who make this place so special. (They are constantly on hand to make your stay as memorable as possible. Thoroughly recommended.

The villa is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. The staff are amazing. They cater to your every need. The area is great with places such as hiriketiya and dickwella providing great bars, beach clubs and restaurants. There is also temples, turtle beaches and sanctuaries and surf bays. This is great for the explorers. During my travels I took part in safaris and hikes in Yala and sinharaja. These are accessible from the villa and provide a great idea of the natural beauty found in Sri Lanka. Overall one of the best trips I’ve done and couldn’t recommend MG more. 6 glorious days at the Meda Gedara. What a fantastic villa, location and staff group! Having been lucky enough to have stayed in a number of high-end villas around the world in recent years with my family, I have to say that, for me, Meda Gedara is a cut above. The location is just great, on its own remote and gorgeous beach front setting, away from the masses. The villa itself is so thoughtfully conceived, both inside and out, with a clear understanding of what a villa of this stature should provide in terms of facilities, luxuries and decor generally. And the staff, the service and the food they provide is quite simply of the highest quality quality. We don't often return to holiday destinations but this villa is likely to be the exception!

Fabulous luxury villa, perfectly situated on the south coast but hidden away from the madness with its own private beach. The villa is gorgeous and homely - a simple open-design layout but with spaces for everyone inside and out, beautiful pools and even a water slide for entertainment. The staff are so lovely and the food simply amazing, either western dishes or incredible Sri Lankan curries. Perfect for a group of travelling friends or extended family to stay for many days of R&R.
