14 Things to Do (and 1 Not to Do) in Medellin (Updated 2025)

"Housed in a refurbished industrial building with lots of open, exposed space, the Museum of Modern Art offers a small but worthwhile collection (I especially liked the photography section on the bottom floor) and is a charming place to spend a couple of hours even if modern art isn't your favorite; it's open Tue–Fri 9am–7pm and weekends 11am–6pm, with admission 24,000 COP." - Matthew Kepnes

Great! Great Museum all around. To begin with, the building is a masterpiece of contemporary Colombian architecture. Second, both gift shop and the cafe are world-class. Finally the exhibits very impressive. Very well curated. Makes you think about art.

This was an amazing museum. In the heart of El Centro it featured a exhibit the greatest artist out of Columbia. It was nice three stories a lot of history and different styles of art. If you’re not lover, this is a must.

Was expecting much more from this museum and was frankly disappointed at the paucity of exhibits. Some interesting exhibits but overall not really worth the 24k COP entry fee for foreigners. The most interesting part was the Khaka exhibit and video of the cultural significance of coca in the continent. Video runs on a loop for around 15 minutes.

The building is beautiful, but the overall experience is underwhelming. There are five floors, but the exhibition only occupies two of them. There's not much to see, and the items on display are not particularly impressive. Additionally, there seem to be too many staff members who look at their phones until you enter a room. When you do enter, they stand up and watch you, but they don't say hello or offer to explain the art; they simply stand behind you, which feels a little strange. I wouldn't come here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

I visited early on a Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, 2/4 of the exhibit floors were closed the day I visited. They were expected to open the next day. The terrace had nice views and was full of greenery. There’s a lot of construction in the surrounding area.

Great museum! Really good exhibitions and artists. The space and facilities really surprised me. Def recommend if you’re an artists visiting Medellin.

Relatively small museum but for the value and time spent, definitely a place to stop in at. If you only had time for 1 museum I'd go with the Antioqua over this one though.

Cool museum, the art collection is not that big. The temporal exhibition they were holding while I was there was pretty interesting.
