I stayed in this hotel 12 days, was meant to be 7 but I extended it as I loved Dubai so much. There was a lot of benefits but some cons that made the hotel short of 5*.
Hotel: was greeted by Nadia on arrival and given my card key very promptly, I was given a phone number for WhatsApp and access to an app, it was done very quickly and being early in the morning i couldn’t have been happier.
Staff: majority of them are lovely; I found some at the pool were grumpy and when I asked for drinks etc it seemed like I was bothering them.
Room; the room is small but it was comfy and cozy, access to tv, the room is well stocked and the bed was comfy:
Pool: the pool is nice but small aswell, it’s got towels and sunbeds with shade. And able to sit in the sun. There is a bar but it’s quite pricey. Issues I found at the pool was sometimes the towels were a bit dirty and linen on the sunbeds weren’t changed as they were dirty and still there the next day.
Location: easy to get taxis, 10 minute walk from a metro station and tram station. Easy to get places to deliver food.
Cleanliness; the rooms were cleaned and freshened everyday, the guy done a good job. The hotel is clean but a lot of ciggy butts on the grounds outside, lack of bins around the pool area and in general.
I enjoyed majority of the experience which made me stay another 5 days, but one major issue I found was the security men on site. On arrival it seemed that security were wanting me to get up to the room because it was early in the morning, I wanted to go back out for a smoke but they seemed to not want me to go out again? The doors weren’t locked so therefore it was 24/7 and if I wanted to smoke 3,4,5am then I can.
On the first official day I took the stairs seemingly thinking it would lead me to the ground floor; no it led to the back of the kitchen. I walked out then walked out onto the side of the hotel before walking to the front. Security man then came behind me and asked me what I was doing? I said I took a walk and took the stairs seemingly thinking I don’t have any other way to get out of the staircase and had to come around this way, he then accused me of not being a guest, asking me what I was REALLY doing then asked for my room number. I give my room number and said I arrived early morning. He went into the hotel and told me to ‘stay there’ and I waited a good 20 minutes and he did not reappear nor did anyone approach me, leaving me extremely confused and not knowing. This actually scared me I was looking for new hotels to stay in.
I had come back from an activity quite late, and sat down on the sofa to fix my shoe, I took the shoe off and let my foot breathe for 2 minutes before another security guy came over and told me to ‘move along’ and not put my shoes there. This is not airport security so why would I have to move along in a hotel that I’m a guest in? I’m fixing my shoes not sleeping on the sofa. Does the security forget this hotel is also 24 hours? Or do they want people in bed by 9pm?
4th incident, I was smoking outside to which one of the security men came up and told Me to move, there was 2 other men outside smoking and they weren’t told, I was. I asked why should I if other people are smoking here to which he got on like I didn’t understand what I was saying and just said no smoking? Confused I just walked on.
I would recommend this hotel but the only problem is the security coming up and thinking they own the place it was all different security would had approached me.
