Gorgeous 50 year old hotel run by the sweetest family. Toula especially showed us so much hospitality and was enthusiastic to help us practice our Greek! Such generous people, making sure we know the best places to go in the city, offering a lovely garden and rooftop to relax in the shade, and showering us in love! Our time in the old town of Rhodes was so pleasant.
As for the building, it feels like you are truly walking into a medieval inn, complete with stone walls and pebble streets, but the room itself is perfectly comfortable and air conditioned! The bed is extremely clean, and the bathroom is not cramped because it is a wet-room, meaning the shower is not enclosed. It is much better than the usual Greek shower which is a tiny basin that gets the floor wet anyway. We liked this!
The only possible negative of this room is that it is very easy to hear people talking outside the window in the morning. However, this was good for us overall, because it encourages us to not stay awake so late at night😂
The location is excellent for travelers who want to save money—you are still in the old town, and in walking distance from everything you could want, but you are not in a crowded area. The streets are narrow and because it is not in the port area, there are some less expensive mini markets nearby.
The Wi-Fi is excellent. There is cold bottled water available for purchase here. I absolutely recommend staying at Medieval Inn!
