As a local tourist I am so glad that there is this legit Mediterranean/Italian restaurant in town. It is really good for me to have a change of food during the travel. As much as I want to try as many local deli delicacies, having international food in between brings variety to the whole gastronomic experience. Now I know why this restaurant is very popular and has received lots of positive reviews. Not only the food is delicious, the overall service deliverance I think it’s above the standard. The staff works efficiently, they are knowledgeable, as well as helpful in making recommendation. favorite was the hummus, as well as the pasta. I also ordered the duck, which was perfectly executed and tasted beautiful. Make sure to visit the store inside the restaurant where it sells dairy products like cheese, spreads, other importance, snacks, as well as coffee beans. Overall, my family and I are really satisfied and we had a very impressive whole experience. The service is also a big plus. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming, not rushed at all. If you’re in Yogyakarta and want to explore something beyond local food for a change, this is a great spot. Perfect for trying something different while still feeling comfortable. We were so lucky to snag a table here! The place was absolutely packed, which always says a lot about the quality. The food was delicious—fresh and authentic. Also, make sure to check out the small shop inside; they sell the cutest little items. Definitely worth the visit!

We went to Mediterranea after visiting the Royal Garden, and it was honestly the best decision we made in Yogyakarta! We took a Grab to get there because we were craving pasta and some Western food after days of eating local dishes — and this place absolutely exceeded our expectations. The food is incredible — world-class quality, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. We were shocked that it wasn’t overpriced at all! Every time we dined here, our total bill was just around 100,000 IDR, even though we ordered multiple dishes because we wanted to try everything on the menu. Everything was just that good. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the staff are kind and attentive, and the whole experience feels genuinely special without being pretentious. I also noticed that Mediterranea has won a TripAdvisor award, and it totally deserves it. This became our absolute favorite restaurant in Yogyakarta — we went back every single day until we left the city. If I ever come back to Yogyakarta again, I swear I’m coming back to this restaurant. Our Favorite Place in Yogya! Flawless Food and Service Mediterranea is our absolute go-to restaurant every time we visit Yogyakarta. The food is consistently excellent, and the service never fails to impress. The bread and pastries are the freshest and best in town. We highly recommend the Duck Confit, which was outstanding, along with the Beef Lasagna, Piede de Boeuf, Tiramisu, and Rocher Three Ways—everything was perfect. Bonus: The small shop inside selling unique local products is a great touch! A truly reliable and memorable dining experience.

We got lucky because we arrived just before the dinner rush so we didn't have to wait at all to get seated. After we came, some guests who didn't make any reservation had to wait up to 20 minutes to get a table. So if you plan to come here, either make a reservation or come early. The food was FANTASTIC! Everything was delicious. The houmus was great. The garlic naan that came with it was warm and soft. The only complain is 1 garlic naan is definitely not enough. Definitely will visit again when in town.

We came across this spot through TikTok recommendations when we were looking for a dinner spot. We ordered a couple of entrees and two mains to share. We were waitlisted as reservations were full, but we only waited 30 mins once we arrived! The octopus entree was unfortunately overcooked, which left the dish quite tough and rubbery. The tuna was delicious and well balanced. Definitely the standout for the evening. The ribeye was cooked medium rare as requested. While the dish was enjoyable, it didn’t stand out, and the bok choy didn’t really complement the steak. The Christmas duck special main was nice. The meat was well cooked, however the asparagus was overcooked and was overly soft. Service was underwhelming. We had to ask servers to come over several times to; provide a menu, take our order and swap over a beer. It would’ve been better if staff were more attentive, especially since tables are nicely spaced and there are lots of servers. Overall we didn’t feel it was worth the hype this restaurant has, but there is definite room for improvement.

We had a lovely lunch at Mediterranea Jogja. We ordered the carbonara with mushrooms and beef bacon, pasta crosta salmone affumicato, and seafood fra diavolo. Everything was delicious and well prepared, and you can really taste the high-quality ingredients. The service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We left very satisfied and will definitely come back next time!
