Mediterranean Wholesalers is an fantastic place to purchase the best Mediterranean products and get a delicious coffee and cake. All products are of high quality and amazingly priced. If you haven't been do your self a favour and try it.

I am all about the cake, and was thrilled to discover that this grocer had the cutest little cafe and cake shop plopped right in its very centre. The apple tea cake is gorgeous and a must-try! Also very excited to see the Berry cheesecake, which looked as though it had been baked at a gourmet bakery. And if you want pasta, holy heck this place has EVERY kind. From Orecchiette, to Stelline, which i was delighted to find was in the shape of tiny stars 🤩 The deli, whilst well stocked, doesnt present its goods terribly well and I was saddened that it didn't stock Prima Donna cheese. Still, I came for a browse, and I'll be back for the cake and a grocery shop.

Great place to get your Italian ingredients to cook at home.

A wonderful, large Italian providore with all you could ever want … cold cuts, reggiano, panatone, pasta, and the most delightful coffee bar with delicious jam tarts, tiramisu and Black Forest. Everything Italian you could want 😊 The coffee is excellent and compared to Prahran, St Kilda, Glenferrie Road etc the cakes are about half the price!

A reasonable selection of italian basics at larger bulk sizes including cheeses , pasta , sauces , pulses , olive oil. The deli has some nice smoked goods and salami but the staff are excruciatingly SLOW. It’s worse than being in Sicily itself …. so get your ticket , then a take away coffee. It might be your turn by then 🤣

The best mediterranean shop that has a sensational selection of Italian fresh meats, pasta, rice, wine, aperitifs, sauces, pesto, cheese…..oh the cheeses🩷. Not forgetting the bakery, pastries, sweets, the coffee bar for ‘time out’, kitchen wares and an eclectic range of specialities…….. the great staff who can advise on the best pasta for particular sauces and advice on their range of products. Always helpful and sharing a positive vibe. Not forgetting the fantastic range of gluten free pasta, great quality and pricing. Well worth the visit to stock up.

Feeling smug after returning from you Mediterranean holiday? Want to impress your friends with your new found knowledge of Italian or Spanish cuisine? Mediterranean Wholesalers is your one-stop shop for your fancy pants, post-holiday showing off dinner. A few things to note: 1. It is enormous 2. 90 per cent of the goodies are canned - tomatoes, olives, sauce etc. Which is quite funny on mass. 3. FRESH PASTA (needs to be capitalised) 4. FRESH CHEESE (also needs to be capitalised) 5. Heaps of European wines and beers are also stocked. 6. Please don't annoy everyone too much with your smugness and holiday snaps.

I just love the fact that a giant wholesaler of Italian foodstuffs exists less than a 5 minute bike ride away from my house. Sometimes I feel the full brunt of my lucky life more than other times, and right now, I'm feeling full of love and gratitude for the Mediterranean Wholesalers. Having said that, this place also makes me feel guilty that my wonderful big brother bought me a pasta maker for Christmas (because he overheard me saying how much I wanted one - damn those Masterchef dudes) and that I haven't used it yet, not even once. I can't blame the Med Wholesalers for my slackness, but if you pop in and see for yourself the incredible variety of pasta lining their many shelves, it might go to explaining why I haven't felt the need to whip out the pasta maker. I mean, these guys are my pasta maker! There are also tonnes of great Italian cheeses, breads and other Italian condiments that when combined just so, will lead to full and happy bellies.

Its hard to know which angle to take when reviewing this place: Do I review it as a supermarket or as an experience or as a cafe. Ive decided to go for a mixture of the lot... As a supermarket its very good. It has all sorts of pasta and beans and canned things that you cant really buy anywhere else - and if you are into Mediterranean cooking then this is the place for you! I was also very impressed that it sells little ceramic donkeys and I really tried to justify buying a few, but I couldnt really think where on earth they could be used suitably in my house.... It sells all sorts of cooking pots and things too and boxes of chocolates and biscuits and stuff like that in case you are getting something for a birthday present for someone you dont want to spend that much money on... As an experience the shop is great in that sense. You could spend hours in there. As for the cafe part of the shop (which is only a small part) you go there for the atmosphere - because you certainly dont go there for the hot chocolate - which was quite frankly plain awful.... so much so that it cost the place a star in my review... The biscuits though were pretty good and include wagon wheels, strawberry tarts, and other Italian style biscuits. For $12 we had 4 biscuits and 2 hot drinks so at least it was cheap! All in all this would be a great place if they could start caring a bit more about the quality of their hot chocolate (which came out in 2 minutes flat!) Of course I will go back again though - and hopefully one day I will find a reason to buy one of those little ceramic donkeys!

Sydney Road holds many places to eat and drink. One fabulous thing in particular that it offer is bean. And not just a single serving of beans, beans in a can. And not just beans in a can, but a palette of beans in a can. And not just a palette of beans in a can, but slabs of palettes of beans in a can. That's right, the Mediterranean wholesalers is your place for slabs of palette of tins of stuff. All manner of tinned Italian vegetables can be found here - from chilies to chick peas to tomatoes to asparagus. To the back you find a deli dedicated to cheese and preserved meats. I have never seen so many cuts of meat and sausages in my life. And if you hang around long enough you can sample some cheese. The second half of the store is dedicated to the stove top coffee makers that we find some magical and other cookware, along with chocolates and treats!!! All of it so magical, and better, all of it so cheap!

Whoa, this place is huge! And very, very awesome. It is in fact the largest supplier of Mediterranean food. They have an impressive range of cheeses, everything from Parmigiano Reggiano (the king of Parmesan cheese) to Halloumi. And if you're looking for the perfect cheese to make saganaki, yep you'll find it here too. The coffee section is enough to give you head spins, or keep you up all night if, like me, you try to test as many as you can in one day. By the way, if you're gonna stock up on coffee then you have to pair it up with some of those cakes and pastries from Italy, like Siena cakes, biscotti, and even some bread sticks. The deli section features many special Italian meats, sausages and other bits and pieces that would make an impressive antipasto. Basically the general rule is if they don't have it here, then you don't want it. Expect to spend a lot of time at the Mediterranean wholesaler, not only because there are rows upon rows of merchandise to oo-and-ah over, but also because there's a café and bakery onsite. Yes, these guys have thought of everything.

Great place to stock up the larder with all the staples you need to smash out some great Italian tucker. More pasta than you can poke a stick at, arborio rice, OO flour, dried chestnuts, porcini mushies, Parmigiano, Grano and Pecorino by the wheel. Try their snags, get a few slices of San Daniella Prosciutto. Buy in bulk and save a heap of cash. Don't forget to ask the ladies at the Deli to grate your Parmigiano for you and save your arm muscles!
