Mediterraneo Cafe

The food here is good but unfortunately the service really brings the experience down. The staff were very slow and I even had to take my own drink out of the fridge because no one brought it to the table. On top of that the whole restaurant smelled strongly of fryer oil which made it unpleasant to stay inside. Overall, despite the decent food the poor service and atmosphere mean I would not come back.

Right in the centre of Tauranga. Nice chill atmosphere, music 60s 70s 80s. Parking on a Sat morning quite hard to find and theoretically only 30 mins. Food was excellent. Coffee very good. The menu was the usual fare, their lunch menu starts at 8am and some nice options there. The most impressive feature, very rare in cafes, is they offer a small version of nearly all their meals at nearly half the price. This was great for us as we don't have big breakfasts. I had the small eggs bene which was just right, my partner the full monty (big breakfast) which was more a medium than a small soi got some leftovers. Friendly, fast and knowledgeable service. Highly recommended.

Good place, worth stopping here,had a great coffee and scones yesterday. 1st time here but will definitely will be back.

Local highly recommended cafe right in the town centre. Great hospitality to refreshingly start your day with breakfast. I like them pay attention to the details to even cool the cups to make sure your drinking water is cool enough. Breakfast means a lot to me so if you are my kind please grab a seat in the Med when you visit Tauranga.

We have been to The Med many times & it was always our go to for brunch. We hadn't been for a while & I assume it has a new owner. The menu is the same but the food is very different, and not very nice. It was also very quiet with no atmosphere. Whereas it was always busy & humming. Service was very slow even though there were only 6-8 people & plenty of staff. Unfortunately we won't return. Coffee was still great though.

We mostly came to try the bagels but were disappointed because they tasted more like regular bread than real bagels. On the other hand, the omelet we tried was terrific. Plus we loved the cozy atmosphere inside and the good service. So this gets an easy five stars in spite of the bagels.

If you're looking for Heaven in the taste of coffee and food you've come to the right place. Perfectionists in there own right

What an excellent little cafe... very cool! We stopped off here Sunday morning prior to heading back to auckland after checking out of our hotel. Coffees and breakfast ordered and man were we happy. I had the porridge which was perfect for a winters morning and my partner had the pancakes... all was brill. Service was impeccable and the coffee ranked a good 4.5 out of 5!! Highly recommended stop if you are in town... parking outside and generous seating both inside and outside the cafe.
