It’s our first and last holiday in this hotel. When we arrived here we were very happy, but when we saw the rooms, our smile quickly disappeared. We asked for a family room with view of the garden, but we did not get that. Only one room of the 2 has air conditioning and a socket/power point where you can charge your phone. We paid extra for the wifi, but it barely works in the room and it doesn’t work at the restaurant. The food at the restaurant is not good. Some things are okay, but most of them are just not yummy or don’t have a lot of taste. The staff is not very friendly, especially at the bar. And you would think all inclusive, but you have to pay extra for almost every cocktail. The pool is saltwater. You have to pay a lot extra for things that you expect not to. It’s a hotel you stay at if you are going to a lot of things and not stay in the hotel all the time The location is good though, i recommend to hire a scooter so that it’s easier to get to the small city. The city is very nice.

Pros: The hotel is a bit older, but the rooms and grounds are kept clean and well maintained. Overall, it feels tidy and looked after. There’s plenty of food available, and dishes are replenished when they run out. The location is lovely – perched on a small hill with sea views from almost everywhere. The beach is about a 5-minute walk (around 400 meters), and we really enjoyed the soft sandy shore. Cons: When we arrived in the evening, we had dinner but found there was no drinking water available in the room, nor anywhere to get it. Only the next day were we told that bottled water could be purchased at the bar (€2 per bottle, while the same bottle in a shop costs €1.50). So, regardless of your arrival time, you’ll need to arrange your own drinking water. There are two swimming pools, but they’re always busy and sunbeds are almost impossible to find free. Food variety could be better — although the buffet theme changes daily, in reality it’s usually just one new dish, while the rest feels like a repeat of earlier meals with a different sauce or mixed into pasta. After a week, it does feel a bit repetitive. Another downside: we wanted to order a takeaway lunch pack for our early trip the next morning, but were told it can only be requested before 5 PM. The receptionist then suggested we could come to the restaurant at 6 AM and there would be something to eat. Unfortunately, when we showed up, nothing was available — so we left hungry. I honestly don’t know what guests are expected to do if they arrive outside meal hours, but it seems you just have to go without food. The air conditioning is very outdated, and since the electricity only works with the room key, it takes around two hours to properly cool down the room, which can be frustrating after a hot day. The fridge in the room was also a letdown — completely empty, not even a bottle of water provided on arrival. Overall: The hotel has a great location with nice views and a pleasant beach nearby, and it is reasonably well maintained. However, the lack of basic conveniences like water on arrival, limited food flexibility, outdated facilities, and crowded pool areas make the experience less comfortable than it could be. With some service improvements, it could be a much better stay.

Rooms are basic, which isn’t too bad as we only sleep in there. Pools are nice but only 1 life guard for all 3 (he is very rude and does nothing but shout at kids and sit on his phone not even looking) entertainment isn’t the best either always room for improvement. Food choice is poor not much for small children personally we would come back to Crete but definitely not to this resort

7 people in our party 1st night we want to dine at a table for us all, I moved a table over to join together and the waitress said no and snatched the chair from my friends hand she started to move the table back so i said no too. The other waitress Maya who was lovely said its ok to do, the bar closes at 11 and I went at 1045pm to get 2 soft drinks and 5 beer only to be told by the rudest bar man you have to many drinks on the tables to which I said 3 empty and he said I can only serve one drink to you despite me saying many times 7 people in our party. One night I asked for glass drinks he said no we don't have them when I could clearly see them and the signs said glass inside and plastic outside, the next day they charged the signs. One morning walking down to breakfast the cleaners were mopping to be fair I didn't notice they were there then they start shouting off off the floor. I Complained to reception that our 12 night stay was not good as the majority of the staff are disrespectful only restaurant manager and Maya pleasant. This hotel is NOT 4 star more like 2 1/2 stars the rooms shocking, dirty no electric points in second room of family suites, the best part of hotel is reception and restaurant the food okish, |DO NOT STAY HERE

The property is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but in reality, it falls far below that standard—more accurately resembling a 2-star establishment at best. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing and concerning. The first thing we were told at check-in by the receptionist was that we should pay to use the room safe deposit box because, and I quote, “you never know what can happen with your valuables.” This immediately made us feel unsafe and uneasy about the security of our belongings in a place that is supposed to offer comfort and peace of mind. The room itself was completely unacceptable. Our balcony overlooked a garbage disposal area, creating an unpleasant and unsanitary environment. The shower head was covered in mould, the water taps were encrusted with limescale, and the room was infested with bugs. Most concerning of all, however, were the serious electrical hazards. There are exposed wires and poorly secured sockets throughout the room. These are located at floor level—exactly where our young son plays and moves around. This poses a clear risk of electric shock or fire, which is deeply distressing for us as parents. The red and black wires protruding from the wall appear to be improperly insulated, and at least one socket is visibly damaged and loose. We spend time in this room daily, and the condition we’ve been left in is not only unacceptable but potentially dangerous. From both a safety and legal standpoint, this situation is a serious breach of the standards advertised.

We deeply regret choosing Hotel Mediterraneo in Hersonissos. Despite clearly requesting a room near the elevator (due to mobility issues), we were given a room far away, only accessible via many stairs – completely unsuitable. The room itself was filthy: old, poorly maintained, and infested with bugs. There were dead insects under the bed, cockroaches running around, and thick cobwebs hanging from the lamps. Completely unacceptable. The food was also a major letdown: the same dishes every day, served lukewarm and lacking any real taste. We could barely eat any of it. On top of that, the staff – especially at the bar – were rude and unhelpful. In our opinion, this hotel doesn’t deserve any stars, let alone four. We strongly advise others to avoid this place. Save your money and choose a better hotel. For us, definitely never again!

Absolute holiday from hell, been to many hotels in Greece from 2 star to 5 star and have never experienced a hotel like this! The staff are absolutely rude and dismissive for any request from any of their guests. Swimming pools absolutely dirty around the sides with slime around the grouting. Pool closes at 19.30 however guests in the pool until gone 22.00, water from which created pools on the paths and slipping hazards to which my 6 year old son slipped and ended up in the local hospital and having 4 stitches in his head. The hotel did not have an adequate first aid box and none of the reception staff was bothered. No empathy or check ups. Had to beg the hotel to complete a accident report on the last day of our holiday to which our Jet2 rep had previously asked for when the accident had happened. The hotel promotes its self as a 4 star hotel, I’ve stayed in better 2 star hotels. Rooms majorly need updating or at least broken/ damaged furniture replacing. Our room was dirty, again reception not interested in this. Bathroom still dirty from previous guests, hole in the side of the bath panel with tissue paper stuffed in, mouldy around the bath and shower head. Mattress stained, bathroom locks broken, air conditioning unit broken and not effective. Plug sockets hanging off the wall, Pool areas very tired, human excrement smeared on the pool toilet walls for days. The kids slides/ sprinklers for younger children broken. Evening entertainment is very basic, kids disco for 25minutes at 9pm followed by Karaoke or a music quiz. Met with the hotel manager who was very defensive of the whole of the hotel and staff, stated that all his guests were happy however a lot of guests was unhappy which is evident around the pool and guests complaining in reception. When things kicked off, the hotel manager would hide in his office. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.

This is not a 4* hotel more like a 3. Majority of the reviews are spot on. The free drinks are disgusting they taste like supermarket value fizzy pop. If you want branded you are better off either walking 15 mins to the left when you leave the hotel to go to the spar and stock up or even the shop on site which is fairly priced for food and drink. The hotel lobby has a cash machine which charges around 2 euro for each transaction (all cash machines charge this was one of the cheaper ones) the room I was in was acceptable however the bathroom could be a danger hazard for independent younger children as there is no door/shower curtain so the flood gets flooded, but saying that the water was always hot unlike some hotels when multiple people are trying to get ready in an evening at th3 same time the water will be luke warm at best. The front of house staff are pretty rude i tried to plug in the tv and got an electric shock when it was reported the younger guy just laughed at me. On arrival my partner was asking questions and the older gentleman dealing with us was not interested just demanded the 140 euro tax. We arrived past 11pm so had to pay 6 euros for 2 small glass bottles of coke. The olive garden and the end of the pool opens at 11am and closes at 5pm and is pretty decent. So if you are fussy and are sick of just chips/spaghetti you will find something in there to eat during them hours. The cocktails do go on offer for 6.50 but when it's not its 8.50. (Again i advice you buying alcohol and mixers from the spar up the road as they really dont care you making/drinking your own drinks) the actual restaurant during meal times there is a theme every night you can find something even if it is just chips/spaghetti or a bowl of soup. The manager of the restaurant was amazing and tried to find us tables close together most of the holiday (party of 18). Effey the lady in charge of the spa is an absolute delight, she did her daily rounds of offering spa treatments but never was pushy even though she has a large amount of money she has to make monthly, she again tried to upsell packages but it was more of an offer then a requirement, between her and the restaurant manager they where amazing, kind and funny. The photo guy again he was so lovely. He offered but never forced his services. I will say he is reasonably priced but the more photos you buy the cheaper he gets. A previous hotel I stayed at in turkey i was charged around 140 euro for 4 photos. Between me and the family i went with we had over 25 photos and payed less than that in total. He also prints the photos out before hand for you to see his work (which is amazing) and doesn't care if you only want a 1 out of the 10 hes printed. Town is a walkable distance (about 30-45 min walk) but if you dont want to walk in the heat there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel which is usually every 20-30 mins. Overall this holiday was pretty good minus a few idiots getting carried away in the pool bombing in directly next to young children (life guard was no where to be seen for atleast the first week of my holiday then on the second week he told children off for splashing one another no where near anyone else.) If they had better free drinks or cheaper branded drinks it would be a really good hotel.
