This hotel absolutely deserves 5 stars. It is not super luxury BUT it is warm, cozy, friendly, clean and with the best staff ever. They had us enter the room before check in because we were with kids. Lady at the reception desk spoke our language but many other languages as well. Breakfast was excellent with variety of choices. Position of the hotel is perfect. From Oktogon point you can take Metro, bus, tram... We had our flight really early so they prepared us 4 breakfast boxes (sandwiches, apple, juices, water, something sweet...) We wish all the best to the staff of Medos Hotel and our next time in Budapest will be again in this hotel!

We had an overall pleasant stay at the Medosz Hotel. We booked a quad-bed family room, which was clean, featured 2x double beds that were really comfortable and included a well-maintained ensuite. Comms with hotel reception was excellent the moment we booked it. The only drawback was an issue with ventilation. It seems the central air conditioning had been switched off for the season (October), making the room too warm. We had to open the windows, which unfortunately led to occasional loud noise from outside due to weekend. On a positive note, the breakfast was decent, and the location is truly the hotel's best feature. It is only minutes away from the Octogon metro station, as well as bus and tram stops, allowing quick access to all major attractions within 10 to 15 minutes. Overall, we recommend this hotel, especially for its central location.

Great hotel. Very well located - close to public transportation and the city center. Cozy room, comfortable bed, and a nice hot tub at the end of each day. Good service at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

It was really a pleasure to stay at Medos Hotel. We booked a twin room. It was very clea, the bathroom too. Beds, sheets, bed covers all white and clean. Breakfast excellent and full. Many options for everything (coffee, cheese, ham, marmalade, cakes, breads, eggs, sausages etc). I would definitely recommend this hotel and definitely I will choose it again.

Staff was super professional and friendly, responded to messages promptly. Cleaning could be improved, as curtains had a big stain, walls could use a retouch here and there. Main bother with the room was extremely squeaky floor and bed frame. Overall, great place for the price.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Budapest that, while well-located, unfortunately did not meet the standards suggested by its pricing or advertised quality. The hotel’s location is quite convenient, with easy access to public transportation and a number of nearby tourist attractions. The front desk staff were a highlight of the stay—friendly, polite, and professional at all times. They did their best to assist us when issues arose, and their customer service was much appreciated. Unfortunately, the biggest issue during our stay was the cleanliness—or lack thereof. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room that was in unacceptable condition. There was visible dust, the carpet was stained, the lampshade was broken, and the bathroom had significant rust stains. The toilet paper had clearly not been replaced, and there were no basic toiletries such as shampoo or conditioner provided. The most concerning detail was the condition of the linens and towels. Instead of being crisp and white, as you’d expect from any hotel, they had a noticeable greyish tint, suggesting they had not been properly cleaned or replaced for some time. It was quite off-putting. Accessing the room was also somewhat unpleasant—we had to use an elevator located directly in front of the service area where the hotel’s trash was removed. After taking the elevator, we still had to climb some stairs to reach the room. After sharing our concerns with reception and emailing photos (as the manager did not to speak with us directly), the staff kindly arranged a room change. The new room, although slightly smaller—even though it was classified as a premium room—was clearly cleaner and better maintained. Both rooms did offer lovely views, either over the city or a nearby park, which was a redeeming feature. While the hotel’s rates are comparable to those of a 4-star property, the services and conditions offered fall significantly short. The quality of housekeeping was far below standard, and the lack of basic amenities, along with poor maintenance, raises serious concerns about value for money. In summary, while the location and front desk staff were commendable, the hotel has major issues with cleanliness and overall service quality. Unless significant improvements are made—particularly in housekeeping and management responsiveness—it’s hard to justify the price point. I would rate this stay 2.5 out of 5 stars.

The hotel rooms are outdated and definitely don't look like they do in the pictures. It's ok value for the money because evrything was clean, and location is the good part of the city, with fast food restoraunts and bakery nearby if you need a quick snack.

Stayed here for 4 nights and loved every minute. The location is perfect, walking distance to all transport links (public transport is fantastic and very easy to use, I'd advise buying a travel pass, much easier and cheaper) and attractions. I paid extra for a room with a balcony and it was a wise choice with a great view of the city looking down over Liszt square, where there are a lot of restaurants and bar's to choose from.|The buffet breakfast was fine for me, plenty of bread, cheese, cold meats and salad. Also pastries and sweet treats which were delicious. Hot food was available as well as cereal and fruit.|The bed was comfortable and the shower was very powerful with constant hot water.|Reception was manned 24 hours a day and everyone was very pleasant and non intrusive.|I will definitely stay here again for my next visit to Budapest.
