Nagoya: Home to hearty Japanese cuisine and a tower made famous by the movie Godzilla - SilverKris

"A well-known discount chain with dozens of locations that stocks a huge range of gifts, quirky items and souvenirs — the stores are famously packed and it's easy to leave having bought more than you planned." - James Wong

MEGA Don Quijote

Google
It's a giant store and a real attraction. There are several floors, each selling an impressive variety of things: from cosmetics and food to electronics and souvenirs. It's cool to walk around and see the variety, but I found the prices a bit steep, kind of "overpriced" compared to other places. Anyway, it's a chaotic and fun shopping experience. Entry is free and they accept credit card payments.

Mega Don Quijote in Shibuya is pure chaos in the best way possible! I came here looking for extra luggage after realizing I over-shopped (as usual), and wow… ended up leaving with a bunch of random stuff too! The place is massive, with multiple floors packed with everything imaginable. You’ve got snacks, skincare, souvenirs, clothes, electronics, and even random things you didn’t know you needed until you see them. It’s basically a 24-hour treasure hunt, and the energy inside is wild. Definitely give yourself time to wander because every corner has something new to check out. The staff were really friendly and I love that they offer tax-free shopping too, just remember to bring your passport if you want to use it! Prices are pretty reasonable, and the variety makes it totally worth the visit. If you love shopping, quirky finds, and that over-the-top Tokyo energy, Mega Don Quijote is a must. I always walk out with a full bag (or two) and zero regrets!

Google
This place isn’t a store. It’s an ecosystem. A multiverse. A 24/7 shrine to capitalism where every aisle whispers, “You didn’t know you needed this, but you absolutely do.” Walking in is like being dropped into the brain of a hyperactive child who just discovered sugar, anime, and discount pricing. The mascot penguin waves you in with the confidence of a CEO who knows the margins are fine because people like me will buy a bag of KitKats the size of a throw pillow. Inside? Absolute sensory warfare. Neon lights, hanging vines, trinkets, cosmetics, snacks, appliances, cosplay gear, questionable gadgets...and that’s just one aisle. You don’t shop here. You surf the chaos. You ride escalators that look like they belong in a nightclub and turn corners into sections of the store you didn’t even know existed. And the best part? No matter why you came in, you leave with something you never planned to buy. A hand fan, a plush keychain, a random face mask, a USB-powered potato peeler...it doesn’t matter. Donki wins every time. It’s crowded, it’s chaotic, it’s over-the-top…and I absolutely love it. If Tokyo had a spirit animal, it would be this store: loud, creative, weird, electric, irresistible. One of my favourite stops in Shibuya. Enter bravely. Exit poorer...but happier.

Google
It's called one of the MEGA don quijotes for a reason! Prepare to spend at least an hour browsing all that this store has to offer with it's many floors of merchandise. It really is a one stop shop. They also have the largest selection of luggages out of all the nearby branches. If you see a suitcase you like, grab it or have someone stay with it otherwise it'll be easily snatched up. Not many soft suitcases, most were hard shell ones.

Google
I had an absolute TIME at Don Quijote, this store will get you, lol! It’s gigantic and truly has everything you can imagine, so be prepared to spend hours exploring all the floors and aisles. I picked up a variety of things, from Sanrio goodies and snacks to skincare, haircare, souvenirs, and more. Sure, after visiting other stores, I can see why some call it “overpriced” or a “tourist trap,” but it’s still worth checking out at least once. The chaotic, crowded atmosphere is part of the fun, and even if you don’t buy anything, just wandering around and seeing the endless variety is an experience in itself. Highly recommend for first timers!

Google
You can pretty get anything from this place. My vote: - Makeup that you use - souvenirs that you want to bring back for your friends and families. Dry, scallop, dry fish, etc.. - some name branded bags and purses, especially the ones made in Asia. Casio watches

Google
A 9-storey mega store. 24 hours open. I can't think of anything that isn't available here! They have everything from skincare, food, alcohol, souvenirs, toys, bags, clothes, daily necessities, and stuffed animals. In short, if you short on time and need to buy souvenirs or various items before returning home, this is perfect for you. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. They give good advice to the customers for their purchase. The best part for tourists is that you can pay tax-free on the 7th floor. But in that case, you will definitely need your passport. However, the downside of this store is that there is a lot of crowd of customers even after midnight. And the price of the items are a bit high. Wheelchair ♿ accessibility is available ✅

Google
This place is bananas. We bought so much stuff. I had to buy a suitcase there and then proceed to fill it up with everything we bought plus, other items we purchased throughout the duration of our whole trip🤣 each floor has something different. The orange juice machine on the 7th floor is 💥💥💥

Yelp
*cracks knuckles* Let's get started on the biggest time suck of your entire time in Japan (especially if you're hunting for make up or hair stuff). Prepare to lose 8 years of your life here. Family who likes to sit? Leave them outside. Before you do anything inside, go take a photo of the QR CODE on your shopping basket - this will tell you what's on each floor. YW. 1. Do not wait for the elevator an average wait is around 16 minutes. I'm sorry if you're traveling with someone who has ADA needs I would not bring them in. 2. Start on floor one and then go upwards. 3. Try to grab a basket and ignore the carts because you'll be waiting on an elevator for 5 years, also carts not allowed on escalator. 4. Tax free payment is only on floor 7. The line gets long so make sure it's your final step. You can also buy luggage on this floor for cheap look for the 7,000 yen ones. 15,000 yen ones are built better. 5. Don't forget about B1F which is the escalator going down from floor 1. This is where all the amazing snacks and cookies are. They also have roasted sweet potato if you get hungry, milk, rice balls, etc. This area has a register to pay but I can't remember if it was tax free. 6. If you're looking for the best products look for No. 1 or cosme award on the products. Usually there's a Donki sign on the product indicating so. 7. Look up donquiote tax free coupon on Google (it's on the Japan tax free website) and download the silver or gold one. This gives you an additional 6 or 10% your total tax free purchase. So you save even more!!!! 8. Overall this is a great place to shop for good deals and all the touristy stuff and gifts for back home. I snagged some good deals here and with the tax free + tax free coupon I was always shook when I am at the register. Hair products I recommend: Orbis hair milk or hair treatment. Amazing for frizzy!! Avoid the tsubaki hair stuff as it actually isn't that great. Argon/Argeon hair products - this shampoo is so conditioning omg. The momotura peach hair line- so good and smells great. Hair deodorant wipes. Beauty products: Buy the biore spray sunblock that can go over your make up. Stock up on this stuff omg!!! Cezanne has great eyebrow pencils and eyeshadow kits. Canmake cream cheek blush is holy grail status and so natural. Buy the powder cheek blush if you like a more highlighter blush. But they make good stuff. Tirtir pink cushion for a more natural look. Rom& lip sticks!!! Keanna rice pack (not the mask it's a squeeze bag) will make your skin sooooo soft Clear turn face mask - the ones with the anime girls on them are so high quality. I've stocked up on these, my fav is the skin conditioning. Buy the frizz away mascara wand for bangs!!! It will keep your bangs in place esp if you have blunt ones. Buy contact lenses here. And if you were a good kid and read this far- the best time to go shopping here is 12am-1am or 7am-9am. As they are 24 hour.

Yelp
So...the rumors are true. Don Quixote (ie Donkey) is a 7ish floor megastore filled with everything from beauty care to edible scorpions. While its lovably mascot is set to be discontinued in 2026, I'm sure among the slew of tourists, various languages, random product noises, and iconic theme song, you'll have no problem embracing the spirit of Don Quixote. Here are a few things you may have heard: -Don Qui is cheap- From my experience Don Quixote is somewhat cheap. Some products are more affordable compared to other retailers, but others lean in the opposite direction. For example, my friend was recommended a $100 USD skin care product. Additionally, my duffle bag was about $50 USD, and the luxury goods...go elsewhere. - they have unique Kit Kat flavors- yes, if you're from the states, they do have a large selection of flavors. We found everything from crisp apple, to strawberry red bean to moist Fuji. -it's a great spot to dissociate after 12 midnight (especially if you've missed your train)- I'd say this is true. A first trip to Don Quixote is a full sensory experience and it's incredibly easy to find yourself stuck in the void. To their credit, for the amount of product, the store is incredibly well maintained. The tax free checkout is located on a separate floor for easy discernment and the staff is used to global clientele. Will I go back- likely not, but this is one of those finds you have to visit atleast once...or twice .

Yelp
Not much to say. This place is huge and crowded. Hard to move around in and hard to try and shop here. But it does have a TON of stuff and a lot of floors. Great value and selection, but you are diving into IKEA's hyper active cousin. It's hard to get in and hard to navigate and you will get lost. It's worth going to, but also be aware of the crowds. There isn't much the staff can do to help, they are doing their best. The lines here eb and flow as well. There will either be no line, or a line that goes on for a good hour. If you are someone that doesn't like a lot of people. Do not come. If you are someone feels at home in high traffic spaces, this will be heaven for you. Bring hand sanitizer.

Yelp
Literally a store that never sleeps. This is probably the Vegas of all stores. It's 24/7 and has 7 stories. Each story has a variation of some items but each floor has its own main items such as cheesy souvenirs, clothes, and food items. I spent way more than I should in here. It's also very crowded so brace yourself as it can get overwhelming. The only thing about this place are the cashiers. Theyre not very nice. Other than that, this is a one stop shop for all your tax free items as you WILL make the cut off. My wallet is still recovering.

Yelp
I'd heard so much about MEGA Don Quijote in Shibuya. Some people said it was chaotic, others said it was a must-visit, and a few claimed it was overwhelming in the best way possible. There was no way I was not going to visit when I was staying in Shibuya. Honestly, you have to experience it at least once for yourself. I recommend taking advantage of your jet lag and going very early. It is not crowded at all and you can easily walk through the aisles without worrying about being back-to-back with a stranger, haha. SELECTION: 10/10 PRICES: 9/10 SERVICE: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 SELECTION: 10/10 When people say this place has everything, they really mean EVERYTHING. Seven floors of pure temptation...snacks, cosmetics, kitchenware, electronics, anime merch, souvenirs, daily necessities, you name it. I felt like I needed a game plan just to make it out alive, but in the best way. PRICES: 9/10 Honestly? Surprisingly good. This is the spot if you want a one-stop shop in Tokyo. A lot of items were cheaper than in airport shops, department stores, and even some smaller markets. I especially appreciated the tax-free option, which is super convenient if you're a tourist. I did see that other stores are slightly cheaper when it comes to cosmetics and skin care, like Matsumoto Kiyoshi Pharmacy, but if you are the type that just wants to knock everything out of the way in one store, do it! Not everything is "bargain-bin cheap," but for Shibuya, the value is solid. SERVICE: 10/10 Staff were kind and efficient. Checking out was straightforward, and the tax-free counter was organized and quick. I appreciated how carefully and organized they packed everything into the tax-free bags. AMBIANCE: 10/10 Each floor feels like its own world, and honestly, the way everything is organized makes sense once you get the hang of it. It can feel a bit overwhelming with how much stuff there is to check out, but that's the charm about Mega Don Quixote. The bright signs, upbeat music, and rows of colorful products give it that classic Donki energy. It feels like stepping into a supercharged Tokyo convenience wonderland. It's open 24/7, which is perfect if you get the urge to shop at 1 a.m. I can't wait to go back when I visit Japan again someday!

Yelp
Yes there are about 9 floors of products. Yes it's a tourist trip. Yes some prices are higher than other tourist traps. Yes they have a vintage designer bags and jewelry for sale But yes some prices are reasonable. Yes it's a must visit and check it out for yourself. Yes they have a bathroom No there is no where for you to put your trash. Lol

Yelp
Love the selection they have at this Don Quijote. 7 levels of paradise and you have plenty of options to choose from for your shopping.. one stop shop for everything

Yelp
This is the mother of all Japan shopping, you can find anything here! And with so many floors you will be exhausted by the time you reach the top! Great place to get that extra suitcase you will be needing!

Yelp
My friend and I visited this location on a Thursday evening at 8:30 PM. We did not leave the store until 1:30 AM . The Mega Don is...overwhelming. It is 9 floors of stuff and it was so so crowded. The first floor is chaotic but it seems to have all of the popular products from all of the floors condensed into one place. My friend and I took the time to visit each floor and look around. Since we had carts, we had to take the elevator to each floor (as opposed to the escalators) which took a long time. To be fair, this place is a one stop shop. They have things like candy, skincare, health and beauty products, gifts, housewares, smoking accessories, travel accessories, and so much more. My friend and I both agreed that after visiting once, we would be ok if we never visited again lol. I feel like they sell the same products at other stores around the city for comparable prices. If you enjoy chaos, then you will love this place! Haha ps- I also had the don quijote song stuck in my head for weeks after I visited lol.

Yelp
If you've ever been to a Don Quijote you know about the penguins, the colorful text and font, the narrow aisles, and the equally annoying-and-addicting theme music playing at all times. Now imagine that cranked up to 10 because that's what this Mega Don Quijote is. This location is in Shibuya very close to the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. Like other DQs this location is open 24/7. Despite that there are still large crowds and a lot of craziness at all hours. The aisles and walkways are narrow and you're guaranteed to bump into other people. You'll find all kinds of things including but not limited to food, luxury items, beauty products, clothes, and toys. If you are from a foreign country and are looking to save some money on your purchases you can head to the top level for the tax free counters. To do this, just show your passport.

Yelp
Mega Don Quijote really what's all that about . Had to find out for myself because literally my friends always want to stopped in a Don Quijote. I think I've been to 3 while in Japan you only can see and shop so much lol . This Mega Don Quijote is really Huge 8stories high and very crowded. It's pretty easy to find once exiting Shibuya station it's pretty much across the street . Check out lines are very long especially the tax free line if you spend over 5000 yen it's tax free . So it's around $33.00 USD and the tax vary depends on food or other merchandise 8%~10%. For me it's not worth the long wait I'm all about convenience if it's only like $3-8 bucks forget it I'm not that Chang! Meaning I'm not frugal and it's not worth waiting around 30mins in line ‍ My friends wife always want that tax free lol !
google avatar

Liz M.

Yelp
Absolute beast of a store! Soooo many great finds here. One of the best places to find tons of souvenirs and snacks to take back home. So many floors, so much going on, don't get overwhelmed! Take your time... sit is also important to note thar they had é currency exchange machines here as well for your convenience. Also, theres a tax free line to make purchases for all the tourists, just show your passport. The places is chaotic like others Yelpers mentioned but a MUST if you're in Tokyo, Shibuya area.
google avatar

Naly S.

Yelp
This was the biggest donqi I've ever experienced in my LIFE.. three times this trip hahah. They had 6 floors that were organized into beauty, snacks, luggage's, etc. the very top floor is for tax free cashiers. This being said, it was a long wait to take the escalators up to the top just to check out. But the cashiers make it quick and efficient, even for non Japanese speakers! They package the things very well for you. The prices varied from super cheap to normal priced. I found a bunch of gifts to bring back home here! It's so much stuff to see in here, I think I spent like 4 hours each visit in a trance and walk out with bags of things lol!
google avatar

Diane C.

Yelp
Great store with many different types of things. There were travel items with suitcases big enough to fit a person to one for your coins. I got some makeup and love them. Will most likely go back again today as one of the lip glosses i got is great and I want few other flavors/scents. There's a nice selection of cosmetics and other beauty products, sweets, snacks, electronics, toiletries and drinks.

Yelp
HOLY MEGA ZOO BATMAN! This place has got nearly everything you'll ever need and everything you'll ever want. And if I'm ever trapped in a earthquake, this is the place I think I'd wanna be. But then again, this place was just madness! So we heard this was the largest Don Quijote store in Japan, so we said, yeah why not! And man, my eyes were amazed with how much "stuff" you can cram into one store. Snacks, clothing, electronics, alcohol, big name fashion brands, luggage, toys, cosmetics, you name it and it's here. I'd say that some items are cheap, but some items were not. If anything, I bought a bunch of souvenirs. If anything, I didn't wanna wait in a long line just to buy "stuff." Recommendations: ~ Just take the stairs or escalators. The elevators just get to jammed with the amount of floors it has to stop to. Get your steps in while you're shopping. ~ I would avoid the long line paying at the bottom floor. So shop from the bottom up, and pay at the registers near the top. It's less hectic. ~ They do have a Tax-Free line, so just look out for signs. We came, we saw, we did a MEGA Don Quijote!
google avatar

Viclaire S.

Yelp
For all your souvenirs, snacks, goodies and beauty products...this is the place to be. We probably came here at least 3 times during our trip. Tax free shopping and 7 floors!! Why wouldn't you come here? Check out is made easy on the 7th floor (tax free). Make sure to have your passport ready. Tip: they bag up and seal your tax free items. If you want to consume any snacks or candies, make sure to let them know. You'll have to pay for these separately (with tax).
google avatar

Kris V.

Yelp
In Shibuya For A 21hr layover and this is a must go spot If you are looking for souvenirs this is definitely place to go. Tax-Free with a minimum of 5000 yen spent. Its 7 floors of ohhhs and ahhhs hahaha. Did i mention its 24/7!!!
google avatar

Susan P.

Yelp
What is not to like! This is Japan in a store. You need some socks? They have it, you need some chili crisp? They have it. Do you need a Band-Aid? It's right over there. You need a new duffel bag to stuff all the extra junk that you bought in Japan into because it won't fit in your suitcase? Sure thing it's seven dollars. Do you want some fresh Hokkaido bread? Right there. How about some frozen dumplings? Or some delicious fresh fried chicken? Yep. I love this place. It was worth 20 hours in a plane to get here. Can't wait to come back!!
google avatar

Cassandra A.

Yelp
This place is huge! So many things you need are in this store. Everything is placed nicely on the shelves and it's very clean inside. There are escalators and elevators for ease of getting to the top levels and staff that will help you. Things are reasonably priced, making you want to shop endlessly. The selection of items range from food, sweets, hair care, body care, souvenirs, you name it!
google avatar

Anna F.

Yelp
I made a stop here because it was a MEGA Don Quijote but what I did not realize is that this location is super crowded! I went on a weekday in the afternoon and its mostly tourists. I had a list of the things I wanted and I started on the basement level for the food and worked my way up to the top floor with the suitcases and duty-free checkout. The best thing to do is put your stuff in a basket, if 1 basket is not enough, get a 2nd basket and walk up/down the stairs. Do not use the cart because the elevator wait time is long and the workers are using it to move stuff to different floors. If you're looking for Kit Kat, stock up over here. They have lots of flavors in the paper bags but also some specialty flavors that come in a box. I didn't look at the prices of anything when I shopped here because the exchange rate with USD is really good at the moment so I felt like it was a win win. At checkout, they didn't pack the items nicely like in other stores but it's also because the duty-free checkout line was so long and the workers are just trying to get customers in and out quickly. Overall, it was a good and fun experience but I'd rather go to a Don Quijote that has less people.
google avatar

Giselle M.

Yelp
Love everything about don quijote so that fact that this is a MEGA version is insane!!! Love the selection of goods and there is literally something for everyone. The service is great and the lines go pretty fast at the non-tax cashiers. It can get pretty packed in there especially during peak hours so be prepared to walk around people while browsing. The value you get per item is so good, it feels like you're getting more than what you paid for! Would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for souvenirs from Japan.

Yelp
MEGA Don Quijote / Shibuya (Tokyo) -- Wow, I've been to the Don Quijote store near Waikiki Beach in Honolulu (review: https://yelp.to/-dLD8ADz8o), but this claustrophobic eight-floor space bears little resemblance except for the overstock inventory. The Honolulu store is more of a huge supermarket whereas this one is like a tourist-centric Walmart. Personally I found it overwhelming, though Jamie W. appreciated the extensive selection of travel backpacks. Me? I just couldn't get into six aisles of Kit Kats despite the bargain prices and flavor versatility. RELATED - Exploring Japan? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3ebRKbk

Yelp
Yelp Review 2024 #191: The biggest Don Quijote store in Japan is MEGA Don Quijote Shibuya Main Store. It has 7-9 floors (2 underground floors...and I totally lost count) and it's open 24/7! It's a place to shop for snacks or souvenirs to bring home. If you spend over 5000 Yen as a tourist, you get tax-free pricing! I wouldn't recommend getting over 5000 Yen-worth of snacks to eat while in Japan as you have to keep your tax-free purchases in the sealed bags. Instead, buy a little at a time for snacking. Do your big shopping on your last day. As soon as you walk in, to your left is a 10 Yen Pancake stall. In front are escalators going up and going down. The 2 underground floors are for ready-to-eat food/ bento, fruits, vegetables, groceries. First floor (where you started) has all the snacks, contact lenses, shirts, bags, caps, hoodies, costumes, etc. Second floor has the biggest assortment of different flavors of Kit Kats, matcha things, tea, Ichiran ramen, dog toys, etc. Third floor has makeup and skincare products, and supplements. Fourth floor has second-hand luxury bags, shoes, clothes. Fifth floor has cleaning supplies, children's toys and a closed off section for adult toys (why they're on the same floor don't ask me!). Sixth floor is for electronics. Seventh floor has suitcases, bags, more souvenir items and the tax-free counters - it's crazy busy and the lines are long! Which is why I returned all the items I had in my hand and told myself to try another day. So, it seems like they have 9 floors total now that I broke it down. My advice is avoid this place from 6pm-11pm because it's super busy. If you have jet lag, come here at odd hours like 1am-8am if you want a more peaceful shopping experience.

Yelp
If you can only go to one Donki on your trip, THIS is the one to visit. Each location reflects some of the specialties / characteristics of the neighborhood, but the Shibuya location is an absolute destination with the most selection. I was able to find here a chapstick that was hard to find / sold out elsewhere, and there were also more skincare / beauty items than at other Donki locations. Some insights / tips: - The 24/7 hours make Donki stores very easy to fit into your itinerary unlike most other stops! - Shiba statue and items at the front of the store. Cute! - Clean, organized location but as the other locations, can be overwhelming given all the winding, packed aisles and constant Donki song playing on loop. Sensory overload indeed, but come in with that expectation and focus on any items of interest so you can narrow in, and chances are they'll have it or something similar. - Prices are very reasonable. You also get the ease of a wide selection all in one place. It really cannot get more convenient than this to check off some big items on your list. - Check-out can be slow as they train young workers on the job. You do get tax free (makes a big difference) if you show your passport and meet 5500 yen. They put the items in a sealed bag that you're not supposed to open until after airport customs, but the "open secret" is that nobody checks (at least not in the USA) and many people do use the products on their trip. - Despite the possibility of feeling overwhelmed, hard not to feel generally happy and upbeat at a place like this where there's so much eye candy and that you can't typically experience if you're not from Japan. Happy shopping!

Yelp
This place is wild. I literally felt like I was fighting for my live through most of the experience! THAT being said....it is pretty iconic for Japan, if you've got money to burn, this place will sure help you. The amount of STUFF they have is insane. Truly never ending, and crowds to match. It's a bit much for me and quite overstimulating. It is a great option to hit up right before the end of your trip and stock up on some Japan brands from selfcare, to food, liquor, luggage, really all of it. A few in my group definitely did some major damage. My husband and I kept it a bit more tame just getting a few things, but did snag a suitcase. Rumor on the streat was Donki's luggage is more expensive then other places, we did not find this to be true and actually about the same if not a smidge cheaper (for the particular brand we got Legend Walker). Upon check out they will ask for you passport for tax free and wrap everything in bags that seal for you to open once you get home. That's why I recommend saving them towards the end of the trip for anything you didn't see along the way or they will also separate your items if you want anything immediately. We did visit a two Donki's this one being my least favorite. It was much older, run down and the check out was MUCH more chaotic, but you definitely will get the experience and I am sure find some things.

Yelp
One stop shop for souvenirs, things for yourself and anything you can think of. In the heart of Shibuya you'll find this mega donki that has anything and everything! Once you walk in, you'll see that they have the popular ten yen cheese pancake on the first floor. It smells heavenly in there. On the first floor you'll also see a large display of multiple aisles selling coloured contacts. Throughout the entire store, you'll find things such as great souvenirs, snacks and Japan exclusives. Things here are very affordable and you can get tax free shopping over 5,000 yen. It's very busy here to the point where it's quite uncomfortable and chaotic to shop here. So come during off peak hours like early in the morning.

Yelp
Staff: They were all nice and welcoming. Quality/Quantity: This store is huge at 8 floors if I am not mistaken. Floor after floor of great products to suit your needs. Everything from medicine, snacks, clothes, toys, costumes, electronics, etc. Value: Pricing seems fair. If you are a non local be sure to take advantage of the tax Free benefits. Be sure you have your passport. They will pack up and seal the items as you're not allowed to open them while in Japan given this tax free benefit. Overall: Really good option of places to visit to pick up souvenirs. Pro tip: You cannot open or eat an item before paying as it is considered stealing in Japan.

Yelp
This CRAZY, MEGA Don Quijote is open 24-HOURS! I think it's an ok store and a good browse while in Japan's Shibuya district. This MEGA DON is MASSIVE, with 7 floors of disorganized chaos of merchandise, from legit cosmetics to absolute dollar-store junks. Warning: This place gets VERY CROWDED!, with long lines on the 7th floor for Tax Refund Cashiers (think 20-30 mins wait for check out) Hint: I suggest upon arrival, go to the 7th floor and work yourself down each floor. Expect to spend HOURS here ! ;)

Yelp
24 hours convenience... Though now it doesn't seem to cater to foreign visitors through the standard omiyage of snacks and sweets. Back in the day they'd fill the first floor section of the wall to wall of Kit Kats still is enormous in size compared to Shinjuku, Meguro, and dozens more locations scattered around Tokyo. Making the journey isn't easy as Shibuya is insanely crowded and the train station is still under some construction/renovations which making exiting when your'e unfamiliar a mistake you really don't want to make as it can take you to far away locations as I wasn't prepared to know about it all. They do the tax free service here as well obviously though I'm more of a muchies kinda gal over the gaming and electronics which I do love but don't really come here for that. The prices and value isn't much of a deal for the location and effort needed to be made is not worth it for me unless they return to what it used to be instead of the massive cosplay/costume items they currently have here now. どうもありがとうございます!

Yelp
So much stuff! So many bodies! So many floors! That's the best way to sum up the experience. Luckily I came early morning when most were sleeping otherwise I don't think I could have handled shopping. They offer tax free if you spend over $5500 yen. Mega Donki obviously offers more more more than other locations so definitely get your goodies here. They have a wide array of everything you could possibly need plus more junk. I'm glad I got to experience it while in Japan but also glad that my Target and Walmart at home isn't this overwhelming or triggering to my anxiety lol

Yelp
MEGA DONKI!! This is probably one of the best Don Quixote to visit in Tokyo. I know it's full of tourists and sometimes the merchandise is strewn everywhere. However, you can know for certain that you will be able to find something here. The Kit Kat here is relatively cheaper, but I couldn't find flavors like melon at the time of visit in July 2023. They had strawberry, matcha, milk tea, dark chocolate, and some others I wasn't interested in. My favorite is the snacks here obviously, but you can buy other home goods at Donki. Each floor has tons of stuff. It can take a good hour or two to go through everything. There is a line for foreigners who want to not have to pay taxes. This is very helpful because you don't have to take any papers or get anything stamped at the airport! It might be a good idea to get all your things in one shopping trip to take advantage of this tax-free shopping. I think they have a minimum spend, maybe ¥5000 or so. I'm going to say this is a must visit while in Tokyo!

Yelp
**June 2023: Wednesday Afternoon Visit** I actually came here twice, once to just see what the store offered and once to make purchases. This store is massive - and you will be overly stimulated by all the kawaii items and packaging. The prices here are moderate. I'd say this is like a Target equivalent, but geared toward tourists as the 7th floor is where shoppers can make duty-free purchases. They have everything from electronics, luggage, souvenirs, snacks, costumes, makeup, groceries, and everything in between. I think I spent around $200 USD here and would have spent more if my luggage allowed (which it didn't) lol. Be sure to bring your passport for duty-free purchases!

Yelp
So easy to find what you need (and don't need) here. We had to get extra luggage to check-in our shopping haul. Very cramped and busy spaces on each level.

Yelp
A huge market, but surprisingly missing some of the products that the other Don locations have. You'll get all kind of goodies here and a perfect spot for souvenirs for your family and friends back home. It's a large store, and can get chaotic, but I guess for the price point here, it makes sense.

Yelp
Huge store with everything you could possibly imagine!! Snacks, souvenirs, make up/skincare products, even designer thrift finds are all available at MEGA Donki! You could spend a whole day here, great finds at great prices. It's almost always pretty crowded, pretty dense store layout (but efficient too). Good to bring your passport for tax-free discount if you're a foreigner. Cashiers spoke English and were efficient.

Yelp
It felt like every last young tourist in Tokyo was squeezed into this building the night I went, though if you're unsure where to get Kit Kats or a water bottle that fits your backpack, this is a good catch all.

Yelp
Wow definitely a store to checkout. It's like a circus in there.Walmart of Japan. Open 24/7 and can keep you entertained for some time. Did grab some essentials and souvenirs. Well priced and less than many other stores

Yelp
Do you have the time and patience? Then this place is for you. It is MEGA alright, mega sensory overload. So many ppl and disorganized items crammed into this store. It's actually overwhelming. In the US, our stores are usually one large level. But in japan, the stores are usually smaller with many levels. There were so many tourists buying omiyage, ppl pushing and stepping on our feet. We needed a curling iron and got 3 different responses from 3 employees. Finally the 3rd employee was correct. I guess it's hard even for the workers to keep track of their store. When I had to pay I headed back to the 1st floor and struggled to find the check out. Aye carumba, I couldn't get outta here fast enough. BTW, I had the exact opposite experience at Donki Ikebukuro

Yelp
Inside this gigantic discount store on the first floor is the ten yen treat! It's basically a big slab of mozzarella cheese placed inside waffle batter and cooked into a ten yen coin iron press. This was a wonderful combination and tasty treat after a long day of walking around the shops. Tip: you do have to get a ticket first from a vending machine just before entering the line since they will ask for a ticket instead of you paying upfront.

Yelp
This place is wild! How can a store be so overwhelming? Well, many stories high with advertising all over and fun music in the background with tons of stuff everywhere will do it. You can find almost anything here. I will say that it seemed a bit overpriced on souvenir type items but if you're a in pickle and looking for last minute gifts, you will find what you need and looking for here. Be prepared if this is your first time. You will some time. Also, waiting to be checked out could take some time too.

Yelp
Different strokes, I guess.... So I was told by some locals that this is a great place to get 'deals' on all kinds of stuff you may need for the home. I already had a sense of the place from the name (Don Quijote) and the fact that most folks just call it 'Donki'. So I arrive, and I see the entrance...and just beyond that. OK, so it's kitschy...feels like Vegas or something. Fun, right?? So I start to walk around...I see lots of 'cheap crap'. But I give it a try. I look around. I go up to the next floor. And, in no time at all, the sensory overload was getting on my nerves.... All the junk there. The noise. And....in the health and beauty aids sections...and the housecleaning area.... the smell of overly-perfumed products was making my physically ill. I practically RAN out of the place. Definitely not for me.

Yelp
June 2023. Shopping for gifts "Mega" is right. Compared to the location in Shinjuku, it felt like it was bigger, cleaner and had more merch. I could be wrong but that's how I felt. Eight floors of stuff. From groceries to cosmetics. Alcohol to electronics. You name it - pretty sure they had it. Within reason of course. I say eight because there's one thru seven but also a basement. Basement is where you'll find the alcohol. Seventh is where you'll find the duty free registers. Bring your passport. Know that for duty free, they'll package and seal those purchases. If you plan to use or eat them in Japan, they won't be eligible for duty free. I asked. I had both snacks and alcohol I wanted to try. I asked staff - a lot of items you'll find across the chain of locations, but there will be items that you might only find at one store. Just know that in case you're at one location and you're thinking you'll find it at another. Give yourself time to wander all the floors. You never know what you'll come across.

Yelp
This place is the Walmart of Tokyo. It has just about anything you need including bedding toppers. I had a particularly hard bed on our hotel and ended finding a cushioned seat cover that sufficed, but today found out that this location had cushioned bed covers which would have been much better. There is a top floor where you can buy items tax free, however you must have your passport or Visit Japan QR code. Their mascot is a cute little bird. There is a bathroom on the 2nd floor which I was very happy to find. In total this location has 7 floors. The items in this store were overly crowded on each floor and it may be hard to find something in particular.

Yelp
Tax-free employees are extremely rude. They thought we didn't understand Japanese but ha, little did they know we put on a poker face and this is on them. I doubt their boss is going to do anything about it since it seems like almost everyone there at this specific location. But wanted it write a review so you know what to expect. There is a pro that this store is huge if not the largest Donki. There are 7 levels worth of merch. However, the tax-free cashiers had to voice their opinions about us in Japanese thinking we don't know. They snickered at the things we were buying... from their store lol. Why not snicker at their own store instead of us, their customers? Lol. Didn't understand that but ok. They called us weird for buying so much stuff however we weren't the only ones that bought souvenirs for friends... so my best guess? They probably say this about everyone else. Their store also display phallus items out in the open where children walk by. Yet the girls were judging us for buying lingerie and underwear. Terrible customer service, -999/ 10 if I could.

Yelp
I love stopping here in Tokyo! I pretty much would pop into the shop everyday on my way back to my hotel. They have anything and everything you can think of. Reasonably priced. Be prepared for stairs if you want to get around quicker!

Yelp
Your one stop shop for souvenirs to take back home! From cosmetics, to toys, food and snacks, you can find the perfect Tokyo-centric gifts for anyone. This location is a few blocks from Shibuya station and MASSIVE with different category of items on each floor. As a huge tourist spot, it is chaotic and crowded but still recommend viewing each floor - you never know what you'll find! Don't forget your passport! Tax free counters on the top floor.

Yelp
This place is massive. 8 stories(including basement) of just stuff. So many different kinds of stuff. From groceries, to hair products, to sex toys(yes, there is an adult area with sex toys and stuff I think on the 5th floor), and much much more. It's like Walmart or target, but on crack. Mega busy all the time, for good reason. And I think it's open 24/7? Come here if you wanna find a good reason to waste money on random stuff.

Yelp
Be sure to make it out to a Don Quijote if you're looking to bring a nice haul of snacks and goodies back home from Japan! All the locations had so many cool things to look at and buy as souveneirs to take back to the states, and this specific location was no exception. This specific Don Quijote had about six floors right in the heart of Shibuya (a little after the Shibuya crossing). I purchased all my ramen (including some Ichiran) here as well as some candy. If you're not consuming these items while in Japan, be sure to head to the third floor to avoid any taxes. You have to bring your passport though to be tax-free, so be sure to bring it!
