I visited a few days ago and was extremely disappointed. The staff were shockingly rude. In this modern day and age, who doesn’t take pictures or videos? One of the staff members told me not to take photos or videos because it might make other customers uncomfortable—seriously? I wasn’t just there for the food (which was honestly a 4/10), I was there for the experience too and there are plenty of places with much better food and way more welcoming service. The attitude of the staff was so judgmental, it made the entire visit uncomfortable. Definitely not going back. Disgusting behavior and not worth a single rupee.

Meghauli Serai, Taj Safari, is a stunning gateway into the wild beauty of Chitwan National Park. Our stay was filled with unforgettable moments—from close encounters with majestic tigers and one-horned rhinos to watching hornbills and kingfishers take flight across the river at dawn. The variety of birdlife alone is reason to visit.||The safari jeeps are the best in the park—open, comfortable, and designed to offer an immersive and safe experience. Our naturalist, Sandip, brought the jungle to life with stories, insights, and deep local knowledge passed down through generations. Our driver, Santosh, was equally fantastic—skilled, sharp-eyed, and always respectful of the animals and their habitat.||The lodge itself is serene and luxurious. We stayed in a Rapti Villa with its own private pool and sweeping views of the river. The spa is a hidden gem—peaceful, professional, and surrounded by a breathtaking lotus and water lily pond.||The culinary experience is exceptional. The chef is incredibly talented and happy to tailor each meal to your preferences. Much of the produce is grown onsite in their organic garden, and every dish we had was both fresh and beautifully prepared. And don’t miss the fresh lemongrass martini—Sanjay crafts it perfectly using lemongrass snipped from the garden right in front of you.||This was more than a trip—it was a transformative experience, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Meghauli Serai offers a luxurious and immersive jungle experience with stunning views of the Rapti River. The property provides well-designed accommodations with excellent hospitality, making it an ideal retreat for nature lovers. The wildlife experience here is remarkable—we were fortunate to spot rhinos from our balcony at dawn. The staff is highly professional, ensuring a comfortable and ethical safari experience. However, mobile reception is limited, which could be a downside for some travelers but also enhances the digital detox experience. Overall, it’s a great place for those seeking a peaceful and nature-filled getaway.

By far the best TAJ property we have stayed at.|This place is an experience in itself, being inside the iconic Chitwan National Park, the biggest and first national park in Nepal, this place has every element which one would want to experience when on a safari. ||What differentiate this place is definitely the staff, people, naturalists (who are professionally trained and certified). They employ the local people from the neighbouring village to create employment and support the system around. ||The food (we went for full board which includes all meals but no drinks) was super delicious. Every meal was a treat and the quality /fresh ingredients could be felt. ||The safari experience which we did with Santosh was amazing. We opted for 2 safaris since we were here for 3 days, in addition to river safari (must do) , we also did jungle walk (as experience in itself) spotting so many rhinos, wild boar, tiger pug marks, crocs, and number of birds species with spotted deers. We also spotted a baby rhino with the mum| |We didn't want to leave this place and wanted to extend. But I am sure we will be back again. ||Thank you to the team and manager Amit for taking care of us and making it a memorable stay from every aspect

Our stay here was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding; our hostess went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of our stay was perfect. In the morning, waking up to the sight of two rhinos right outside was a breathtaking experience, something we will never forget. The chef was remarkable. We had the four-course Chinese meal by the pool, prepared by an incredibly talented chef. Every dish was exquisite, showcasing both skill and creativity. In the morning, an artist played the murali by the pool during breakfast time, filling the air with soothing melodies that created the perfect ambiance. It was the kind of peaceful, immersive experience that makes a stay truly special. Every detail, from the service to the setting, played a large role to ensure a serene and unforgettable experience. It was worth the money. If you’re looking for a place that blends luxury, nature, and exceptional hospitality, this is it. Highly recommended!

The Meghauli Serai is set in amazing grounds and views . The entrance overlooks an infinity pool with the jungle in the background . We were fortunate to have Swatika as our guide for the safari drive, walk and boat safari , she is extremely knowleable and engaging . We were lucky enough to see a Tiger , Rhino with calf , Sloth bear monkeys and Deer. Sujan in the restaurant looked after us for all our meals and was very attentive and friendly . The food is amazing and varied , often we just didn’t have the capacity to eat all offerings .All the staff are very attentive and trying to make your stay memorable . The traditional local dancing on our last night was a lovely end to our stay .

We were lucky enough to stay here as a family on a trip in October 2024. Upon entering the grounds, it is apparent the level of attention to detail and service paid by staff. We were warmly greeted at check-in (the main building is stunning, with views directly across the river into Chitwan National Park. Each excursion into the park was spectacular; our guide was incredibly knowledgable and took us to many different spots, allowing us to see the endangered black rhinos on many occasions in addition to numerous other flora and fauna. ||I want to specifically shout-out Sanjay, who was managing the culinary experience. His positive, friendly, welcoming energy was contagious and he went above and beyond to consistently ensure we were enjoying every meal. He was outstanding in every way, and set the bar absurdly high for excellent hospitality. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone traveling to see Chitwan.

Excellent hotel, high price reflects the service and expertise of the naturalists on staff. Our priority was recovering from a trek and seeing animals. Our naturalist Asbin was phenomenal, able to predict different behaviour and respond appropriately. Asbin tracked a leopard from the monkey alert calls, and was able to position the jeep 20m in front of where the leopard passed. Service around meals from Sanjay was exceptional. Very appreciative of all the local staff knowledge and passion for their culture, animals and parks.
