Cecile is an amazing host and has created a little piece of heaven in this part of the world. We love Bijagua and had some wonderful trips to Canó negro,Rio Celeste and a local cocoa farm which made incredible chocolate. We had fabulous breakfasts and had all our meals in the evening in the farms restaurant run splendidly by Cecile’s daughter. The accommodation is lovely and spacious with fabulous views over the lake. If you decide to come to this fantastic area Meo Tai is definitely a must stay.

We stayed here, for two nights, as a family of four - in Pelicano. We had a lovely time - and Cecile and family looked after us really well. They were incredibly attentive hosts.||On both mornings we had our morning tea on the patio as hummingbirds visited the bush next to us. ||We especially enjoyed the breakfasts, with homemade bread and locally produced jams. Not to mention the fantastic bean-to-bar chocolate from their homegrown cacao.||The location was great, a short distance to Tenorio Volcano Park, Rio Celeste and more.||We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We just arrived but i can already rate it with 5 stars. Owners are extremely friendly and helpfull, we arrived way too early for check in...owner advised us to go on the chocolate tour nearby, but before we could get back in our car... the rooms were already ready. So nice!! We took the chocolate tour a bit later and has a great time. The lodge doesnot have its own restaurant, but food can be ordered through a website. This will be delivered at the preferred time.

We spent three nights in Pelicano which was perfect for our family of four. Very clean and comfortable in such a breathtaking setting. Breakfast was very nice and included help every morning in planning our day (local suggestions, activities, restaurants to try). Being so close to town was also great, a quick 8 minute drive to supermarket and a few restaurants. We really enjoyed our time here, a real gem.

Absolutely fabulous! Loved watching all the toucans and macaws from our open front porch. The breakfast was also amazing with freshly cut fruit and homemade bread. Celine gave amazing recommendations on places around the area to visit and explore. We never had a dull moment here.

Stay at Finca Mei Tai if you want an authentic stay in Costa Rica close to the Tenorio national park and Rio Celeste. You will feel like part of the family when you leave. This is not a place for you if you want ultra luxurious air-conditioned accommodations. Our family loved our three night stay in the Manta bungalow, a wooden structure on a small pond at the edge of a mountainous rainforest. Finca Mei tai is an operating cacao farm and bed-and-breakfast. The manta bungalow has a spacious outdoor living area and kitchen as well as two separate enclosed bedrooms with a large bathroom that connects the two bedrooms. There was plenty of room for our family of four. The bird watching from the patio area was outstanding and a huge hit with my bird-loving daughter as we saw countless parrots and toucans. Our son enjoyed exploring the trails on the property as well as fishing in the ponds. The best part of the Finca, however, is the delicious made-to-order breakfast that Cecile will serve each morning. We enjoyed fresh-squeezed juices, French press local arabica coffee, made-to-order eggs, homemade bread, locally sourced jams, and even world-class chocolates made with their cacao beans. Cecile has many great suggestions of local places to visit and eat. Take the time to explore the grounds. A stay here is a unique and personal experience, and we hope to return soon!

We had an incredible two night stay at Finca Mei Tai. Wish we could’ve stayed longer! We stayed in Tortuga - Room was clean, cute, and comfortable. The outdoor kitchen and “nest” area are truly magical. We loved breakfast each morning and hiked the grounds which are stunning. The location is amazing and our hosts gave awesome recommendations. It’s clear a lot of love and attention went into building this wonderful place. Definitely worth a stay!! We look forward to returning!!
