Really cool bar with a warm and social atmosphere — it feels like everyone there knows each other! The drinks were well-priced and the DJ played great music. Loved the energy of the place!

Love the atmosphere! Very cozy, and interesting! Drinks were kinda expensive 16€ for a Moscow mule and 2 water, but it was still worth it, in my opinion. Nice music and fun to watch videos being projected onto the walls. Very creative.

Cash (Euro) Only! Great space. There is a great vibe here. The staff is very happy to accommodate your drink requests with friendliness even when they are really slammed. Coffee is available anytime. Good music. Fun crowd. Consider yourself lucky to spend time here.

Very hip and differentiating place: a mix of old, new and art in a friendly and sociable atmosphere. The design of the place has an interesting concept: partial refurbished walls, mix of mirrors, art hanging on the wall or directly painted there...with an old fashion and obsolete furniture 😉😅 The mirror on the front wall give a very nice effect. The personnel is nice, although the waiting time is too long. The prices are ok.

Great vibes, good DJ, and a friendly crowd. Mein Haus am See was highly recommended by local friends and online sources also said it was one of the "top bars to go to" It’s not a fancy or over the top venue by any means, but that’s exactly the charm. If you’re looking to soak in some authentic Berlin atmosphere in a laid back setting, whether to start your night or finishing here, this spot is definitely worth a visit. There is a lower floor that we couldn't check out due to it being closed for a private event. But I'm sure it's great.

Loved it the moment I walked in and saw books. I've learned that when the bar staff if good, the clientèle follows. It did not disappoint, met some fun people and had a great time! I would highly recommend and would definitely be returning when in Berlin.

It seems like an acceptable experience, but the nice thing is their food and fast food. I wish them continued happiness.

An awesome place to be honest. The open aesthetic of the bar is so cool. There is also a dance floor in the bottom. Where the floor actually rotates. It’s soo good. But one down side is that just like most bars in Berlin, they don’t take cards. Only cash. Well atleast that’s how it was when I was there. And they are pretty much open all night and the crowd is almost always international, it’s a great place to have a nice time. But if you are in Berlin, looking for an old time Berlin place, stay away from this.

Yeah, it's touristy, and it IS right off Rosenthaler, and it IS open 24 hours, so what do you expect? To quote another reviewer, this place serves its purpose. And sometimes when you're not quite ready to go home? Why not? There's also some midnight snacky places on either side, and that corner feels very alive almost always. Tip: on your way to the bathroom, sometimes the owner leaves the office door open, and he's got a really awesome dog :)

Favorite bar in Berlin so far, LOOOVE the music each time I've gone. But....I don't like the drinks aside from the gin basil smash and one other one that I can't recall the name.

Super cool cafe that's definitely worth your time. This spot is classic Berlin. Cool art, cool people & a very groovy set up. This place oozes weirdness & Berlin. Had a cappuccino here on a Saturday morning & they're pretty cheap for a capital European city at €3,50 & man was it good! They have alcohol here as well & a ton is places to sit and chat. Come by if you're in town!

The place is cute.... and that's about all it has going for it. No dance floor, awkward seating for conversational purposes, and (for Berlin) the drink prices were a lil high. But the absolute worst thing about this bar, by far, is their bartender. She's extremely rude. I know for a fact that I don't even have to describe what she looks like because her coworkers will know exactly who I'm referring to - that's how inherently rude she is. This place sucks. Don't waste yo time, Berlin has SO much more to offer.

*Nothing gets lost at Haus am See* Great location, fun bar! After a good night at Haus am See with some friends, I unintentionally left my backpack there. I panicked and figured everything was lost but when I went back the next day the staff pulled my backpack out of the backroom. Apparently they had found it and kept it there. All my valvuables and other belongings were still there. Very trustworthy, helpful and friendly staff!!!

I like Mein Haus am See for memories. I like it for what it is. Another Berlin scene, another Berlin experience... I enjoyed it for what it offers. Nothing fancy, nothing exciting. No fancy drink you can get there. It is what it is. Simple and straight forward! But it portrays much of what Berlin offers and for that reason I can definitely recommend the place.

Great lounge feel upstairs and a fun basement cool lighting vibe downstairs. Seating upstairs is fun with a tiered colleague approach. Good music. Nice staff.

Am just loving this place .. First up its really cosy .. The staff is always very friendly without hassling into ordering something every 2 minutes .. The music playing is never too loud so you can have a decent conversation as well as the fact that the music variety is huge and mostly very cool. Since its in Mitte you get a lot of ya typical Hipster punters here and yes most of them use an Apple product :) heheh cute ! They serve some yummy cakes and savoury waffles with chicken which i can highly recommend. I love this place so much i quickly became a regular .. :)

Yes yes yes. Fun bar with locals and tourists. It really FEELS like what Berlin is all about (Berlin natives, please stop rolling your eyes lol): young people confidently dressed in ill-fitting unflatteringly over/undersized clothing (lol I said "young people" like I'm not 26 lol), loud funky music, smokes, good drinks (I ordered the prosecco cranberry....delish!), randos irreverently making out lol, and one dope layout, indoor stairs used exclusively for seating. I sat down and my body was like, "oh, is it nap time? :::induce sleep::" The seats are THAT cozy.

The sister to An Einem Sonntag im August and I would recommend to check out the interior but Jesus Christ the staff is rude. They are not even rude in a cool way, they are just mean and selective. And they can't make good cocktails. This place is constantly crowded and when they can, they are really milking the cow with an entrance fee which is NOT WORTH IT. One star for the good music and good interior, And one star for the monthly party "Applebum" in their very cool basement with a spinning dance floor. It's a hip hop/R&B party which is not typical for berlin, but it's damn good.

Really cool place, a bar with louder music at night and a cosy cafe at daytime. The only downside is that it`s not that spacious so there might be problems with finding a place to sit. Other than that, very good atmosphere with cool people. It`s in a central part of Berlin, close to a hostel, so the people there are young and from all around. However, the cocktail prices are bit high, but the atmosphere is totally worth it.

Very hipster cool and everyone has their Macs in their lap :) However, it was very chill, the staff were super nice, the prices were reasonable and I enjoyed hanging out here one rainy afternoon. Really enjoyed the atmosphere! I must have looked like I hipster too with my layered clothes, some guy says to me, wow... your outfit is amazing, and my jaw dropped, like... really? *one eyebrow raised*... and he says yeah! you look really great! effortless! (I think he was gay, hehe)... I'm like, are you sure you're not making fun of me? You see I had no cold weather clothes, so I bought a long sleeve undershirt and put on one of my summer dresses on the top and lobbed on a scarf and thought I looked like a bit of a hobo... no... just a hipster, hehe. This is that type of place, totally.

The people: Scenester and trendy. - Jesus, when you want to run into the Berlin start-up scenester mafia, freaking come here. It's like seeing all of your co-workers, ex-colleagues, future colleagues, and people that you normally meet at networking events out-n-about, trying to dress cool and probably getting sloppy and/or doing tipsy pitches. That was a run-on for a reason. - One time I came here, my friend was getting hit on by a 17 y.o. hipster high-school student. On service: LOL. - I don't like the fact that the bartender looked at me strangely, then laughed when I ordered my really tasty whiskey-sprite. I know it's weird, but no judging please. It gets me drunk and I am paying you so back off and get me my special juice. - Also, I came here once with my colleagues for a beer and we had to have the dumbest waitress/barmaid on the face of the planet. First, she messed up our tab for some reason. Second, she messed up our tab and also managed to mix it up with someone else's. Third, she was complaining about having to reprint a receipt. Are you kidding me? Four, she demanded we pay her when we already weren't ready to leave because her shift was closing. Five, she was yelling at us? Atmosphere: High five, side-five, and stair-five. - Despite all of this, I like to come here because its GREAT for people watching. You sit on stairs and watch the minions mingle. - It's a cafe with books to pick through and wi-fi. It's a great alternative to St. Oberholz, but also packed to the brim. If you forgot to bring your Mac with, sorry but you are also banned from this place. Plus side, if you are a Mac user, never worry about bringing a power charger, I'm sure you'll find one. - Transitions from cafe to a bar at I dunno when, but I like this. It's cool and probably why its so trendy. - You can stare at creepy projections whilst ignoring boring stories of the day coming from people you just happened to run into. Another trendy point, plus effective point. Check it out and see if it's your flavor of the week. I actually DO recommend it, but with fair and sarcastic warning. Personally, I prefer the cafe side to it than the night one.

Just had a lemonade here, but I decided to still write a review because I just loooove the hipsterness of this place. Could sit here for hours and do absolutely nothing.

Truth be told, I am almost never in Mitte (although I have friends who are), which means I knew about this place long before going. I finally got around to checking it out when meeting a friend for drinks. We arrived at 8pm on a Monday in the middle of the summer and it was surprisingly empty. Of course, the outside seating was pretty packed, but inside there was only a small stream of people. The interior is pretty welcoming, with an odd assortment of mismatched furniture, all of it very comfortable and inviting. It also ended up being a lot larger than I expected. The hybrid cafe/bar vibe is nice, and I am particularly fond of a relatively wide selection of drinks, both with or without alcohol (although the beer choices are somewhat lacking, and Pilsner with flavored syrup is just not the business). Service is pretty spot-on. While sitting inside and waiting for my friend to arrive, three people came up to me asking what they could get me, and I had to tell them all I was waiting for someone. It was friendly but not too pushy. When we finally sat down and ordered drinks, they came quickly. Our server came out with pretty good timing later on, asking if we wanted another round. The only real lapse here was when I said I wanted a second, but maybe in another 5 minutes... and she kind of forgot about me. But I easily got her attention next time I saw her and she brought out another drink. All in all, a solid three stars here. I didn't dislike any particular aspect, but I wasn't overly impressed either. Mein Haus am See is a chill, all-purpose kind of place, just not anything I would regularly go out of my way for.

Cool and very hip place! The thing I really like is that even inside the week there are some interesting programmes. Young bands, cool music, smart arrangement, non-smoking and the view of yellow tramways running by... All what is needed for a nice evening with friends! It's a bit too loud due to a big popularity and the prices are middle for Berlin. Why not 5 stars? One of the waiters. He literally forces you to leave him tip! Wow, that was surprising. Example of a dialog with him: He: 4,2euro please Me: Please take 5 He: I'll take 6 sweety. While my chin dropped in amusement he snatched my 10 euro and gave me my 4 euro back. But nevertheless, I recommend it! Just prepare the change with you when you go :)

I was here for a meeting and really enjoyed the atmosphere. During the day the cafe is not that crowded, but starting in the afternoon it gets really packed and swamped with MAC computers. I really like the design (especially the back of the cafe) and the prices i thought were ok. The music that is played is nice, but does get louder in th evening and afternoon. The wall projections I thought are fantastic but also my concentration constantly drifted to whatever was being projected on there. Oh and they also offer free wifi. I do think that this cafe has become a hipster mecca like Sankt Oberholz, which can be a bit annoying, so best to avoid that is to go a bit earlier during the day.

Really great look, have never been to a place that was like this back in the States. Good prices on smaller beer selection, very relaxing atmosphere, and good music. Mainly younger Germans here, though luckily they speak English. Cash only! We went for my first time here on a Wednesday night just to relax, but my Berlin-based boyfriend loves coming here. I would have liked a larger beer menu, but that's about it.

Drinks are delicious (strawberry margarita is great) and the whole place is super cool looking. Couches spread out, a staircase with large cushions and some tables at the top. The fact that they have a separate smoking room is fantastic, this way the non-smokers don't have to sit in a smokey area hating it. The room is also only separated by a large window and a glass door so it doesn't feel like it's a separate place. Can get pricey if ordering mixed drinks the whole night but they also have beer (of course). I would give this place 4 or stars... if only it was not packed full of people reserving seats with their jackets for hours! Have to wait so long to find a place to sit and people have tons of couches reserved by just their jackets for guests that don't show up for hours. Will go back during the week, when it is less busy.

You come to Mein Haus Am See for the atmosphere. This includes peoplewatching, meeting up with friends, relaxing, and using the internet, often times for hours on end. I've been there quite often. The space is amazing. It's one of those vast places in a gutted old building that is made hip with the cool retro flea market furniture and cool art drawn directly on the walls. There are a dozen couches in this place surrounding coffee tables. Each grouping of couches, chairs, and tables feeling like its own living room. It allows for being social and meeting friends and keeps you there for hours. Which is good, since it's open 24 hours. Sadly the coffee, food, and service do little in terms of providing any reason to return. Often times I'll sit there for a half hour without anyone serving on me. And the quality of the coffee preparation can often be inconsistent and sub-par. Coffee will be spilling over the side when it gets to you. Sometimes it's served lukewarm. The place can get pretty loud which means you have to shout over the noise to the server. As a result sometimes they'll get the order wrong. Usually there are two servers working, but the place is so vast that to get their attention and a focus on quality seem to get lost in their scrambling to serve the people that are constantly coming in and out of the place. Sometimes the service is good, but it's just too inconsistent to ever leave me feeling satisfied. The food menu is simple and uninspiring. Simple sandwiches, paninis, and refrigerated pre-made desserts force me to go to any one of the joints near there to eat before I arrive. It's that place that has the potential to be the best café in all of Berlin - but with just the right focus on atmosphere, and not nearly enough on food and service, Mein Haus Am See leaves much to be desired.

This place is so laid back and comfortable for having a drink with friends and doing some urban crowd watching. It just feels good to be there.

The interior is very nice but the service is HORRIBLE!!! People are very rude , dont care about customers. I asked the guy from the bar to turn off one of the light above the DJ as it was making blind me and my friends (we were sitting next to the DJ) and instead of just suggesting us to move or just apologizing and explaining that it is impossible to do , the guy just started to scream in my face ! i also had to ask to give my change back.every time i was ordering something. They just assume that you will leave all your cash for tips (what kind of service is it ?). You have to wait for your drinks around 20 mins as the place is so crowded.

Original bar with cool stairs to sit on and get a nice view of the entire bar, which is also pretty large. Also a plus is that people do not smoke in the main room, only a little smoke room on the side. It's a nice place to hang out to, with plenty of couches and comfortable sitting space. Only down side is the small and dark smoking room that's not really enticing, and the drinks are somewhat expensive to Berlin standards, with a pretty limited choice of beers.

The cocktails here are far from perfect... Coming from LA I've realized. Beer is usually the best option....and while the lounge seating and stairway overlook is appealing the crowd is a bit intense.

Fun bar with both locals and tourists. It has a nice vibe if you're looking to go out without the intensity of Berlin clubs. The drinks are relatively cheap and the patrons are mostly young people open to meeting a friendly American stranger.

I cannot comment on the normal floor, this is only a review of a booked event. We booked the room cosmic kaspar (downstairs) in the place for a private party. The location is very nice, nothing to complain about that. The event included drinks (1 craft beer, wine, prosecco and 3 cocktails) and a barkeeper to mix them. First of all, the quality of the drinks were really bad, I've literally never had a Mojito that bad in my life. The barkeeper was slow and by that I mean it seemed as if he was told to mix slow so we couldn't order so many drinks. They printed out a list of drinks that were included in the package and put it on the counter, but the list included a drink that the barkeeper said is not included at all, it's just an extra for one single person. This had been very confusing as everyone wanted that drink too and it was not communicated clearly as to why only one person would get an extra drink for free. At times, the barkeeper just disappeared without a warning and without a replacement.

this is the place where I happly go to drink a kafee or a beer, smoking and talking a lot I feel fine here. there are ever art exibitions and once it happened to me to find a special book! it was of a interesting project called EDIZIONI FANTASMA http://edizionifantasma.altervista.org/ anyway I feel ever fine here. maybe..some of the guys could be a little bit more smiling ;)

This place is so Berlin. I've been here three times in two trips to Berlin (twice during the day, and once at night). During the day, it's equally great for coffee or a beer. At night, it's very loungey and smokey with lots of people drinking and listening to loud music. The couches are weird (stadium style in the back and pretty tattered; part of the charm I suppose) but it's a cool scene. During the day, there is an inside smoking room to the left. At night, I believe you can smoke anywhere in the place. As such, when I left (even during the day) I kind of smelled like smoke. One caveat if that sort of thing bothers you.

If you can beat the crowd and snatch some bar seats or couch spots on a Thursday night MHAS is really the spot to drink undisturbed. Its a very hip and young crowd of under 35 creatives. I came here with my partner and we probably had 4 or 5 rounds of drinks and soon it was 2am. There's a dj set at the front and all kinds of random furniture inside. It can be kind of hard to get the bartenders' attention so we tried to tip 10%. There's several special cocktails listed and I had one with mint and gin. Overall a place that seems social and easy to talk to people at. Recommend this over Berghain or some crazy rave where it's too loud and big to enjoy yourself. The cocktails are like 8 or 9€ which is comparable to American prices. The shots are about 3€. Not bad for that area. Would come again to see a dj set.

Overrated at best. It's got some pretty good music, but the bar guys and girls are not that good, the people that surround the place have just jumped off the plane and overall everyone is simply people watching. Walk 2 mins in any direction and you hit much nicer bars, like Breck and Bruk or more of Torstrasse.

Cosy coffee place during the day, things spice up at night with dj, a young hip crowd. The even have a smoking area. Cappuccino tasted good, service was friendly. Will definitely swing by another time to try their breakfast, for the cook didn't show up on time.

Without doubt the most hipster bar I have been in ever! Took us a while to find it but after much searching we were glad we kept looking as it was very different from all the other bars we came across. It's got a weird warehouse feel to it and when you walk through the front door you are faced with seats like a lecture room with loads of people sitting looking out at you. (It is as weird as it sounds) After getting over the initial WTF feeling we grabbed some beers and joined a row to watch more people coming in. This place is brilliant for people watching, their seemed to be folk from all over the world in having a beer. Plus if your hungry you can order a pizza that's get delivered from (as far as I could tell) a local nearby Pizza place. Delicately a cool place and worth a look if your in Berlin. We ended up meeting loads of locals on a works night out who invited us out clubbing with them until 6am.. But that's a story for a different review!

This place is buzzing. Literally. I've passed here a couple of times but didn't sit in. Once I had a friend coming from out of town - I thought it was my chance to finally explore what's inside! So I did. The entrance is already cool, followed by great music and beautiful people - if you come early you might even find a seat. The problem is though - if this seat is reserved the waiters will tell you to get up at some point which is quite annoying... I was sitting here first! The drinks are not too cheap but my mojito was well maid. And I did enjoy every sip of it. At first we were sitting on the stairs at the end of the bar, and then were moved to a couch, it is an open space blocked with quite a lot of seats, yet feels spacious enough, there is also a club downstairs that opens up later on and people are being charged for at the entrance after 22:00 or so on weekends, but as it started to get more and more crowded, we moved away to another bar.

Atmosphere is great. You must pass by for drinks if you're not staying long in Berlin, and if you are, then i'm assuming you can do some creative work there. Their staircase seating area is, by itself, worthy of a visit. Hipsters are welcome too, they say.

It's 1am, you are sleepy, but not yet ready for bed. It's 8pm, and you want to meet all of your new found friends at casually hip (hipp-ly casual?) bar that consists of second-hand couches and love seats, and cool things on the wall. You want to spend hours, sipping a German beer while contemplating life or flirting with your new friend. This is your place of refuge.

good god what rude arrogant managers here, like every caricature of the smug superior German come true. I told him I saw a bedbug on one of the pillows, and he told me i was "full of shit". I swear he sneered at me!

fantastic vibe, good coffee. loads and loads of couches, with an interesting set up as some go high along the wall. there is a glass box smoking room. feels like the chillest grandmother ever opened up a coffee shop/bar. don't come here if you're one of those people who trips out when the server isn't beaming to see you. they are great and do their job, they don't have to whistle while they work, calm down. Amazing spot to write or focus, plus you can get a drink here later.

A coffee shop that also serves as a bar? Sign me up! I finished a paper here on a random weekday. I got there early enough that everything had a coffee-shop feel to it, but as the night went on, music got louder, lights got dimmer and more people showed up. The paper I began to work on in a coffee shop became the paper I finished in a club. All kinds of beverages and interesting people. I wish I had found the time to go back. I thank the German college student who showed me the place for sharing!

Cool place to hang for a while over a beer, coffee or tea. We had great seats on. Acoustic in the highest level overlooking the entire place. Very reasonable cost and a convenient location to Prenzlauerberg and other spots. I would definitely return. Yes.

This place should be great if you're that much of a hipster that you wanna stare at a huge image of a woman getting raped with a bottle and pretend it totally doesn't offend you/ arouse you as it's so arty.

I used to really like this place but lately its gone down the tubes. The staff keep getting younger and more stuck up and the toilets keep getting more similar to festival toilets on the third day. Yuck. Today I walked in and the electricity was not even functioning. Seriously management sort yourselves out. I really want to like Mein Haus again!!
