MEININGER Budapest Great Market Hall

We had a wonderful stay this weekend on a city break with friends to Budapest. Gabor, Benedict and the team made us feel so welcome. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Brilliant location for site seeing and exploring. Fabulous view of the river and Great Market Hall. Other highlights were great cocktails in the bar, cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and whole hotel. Thank you! We look forward to joining you again when next in Budapest

This was our first time in this hostel-hotel format, and we were really impressed. The private bedroom and ensuite bathroom were comfortable, quiet and modern, and the aircon was a delight! The public spaces were amazing, including a number of different lounge/dining seating options both inside and out, a shared kitchen and laundry, etc. The clientele was pleasant and varied - both families and travellers, young and old - and the staff was friendly and helpful. Best of all was the super-central location across from the market, near public transport. Would absolutely stay here again!

This was my second time staying here and just like last time, everything was perfect. It is very clean, the staff are helpful, the kitchen is very well equipped. The location is great too. I wished the laundry was cheaper as almost 7 Euro is very steep in my opinion, but I am still glad I got to use it

I booked a 2-night stay in a female only dorm. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and very accommodating for my requests. The room was spacious with lots of lighting options so even someone was asleep you could turn on a light and see without disturbing the others. The temperature controls worked and the en suite had separate water closet, shower room, and vanity so people can get ready without getting in each other's way. Such a bonus! Close the market hall and public transportation. I'd stay there again next time in the city.

Meininger Amsterdam and Meininger Budapest are indubiously the best Meininger hotels. When making a ranking, it was really hard, because Amsterdam is a place where we spent more days and it stayed in our hearts. However, rationally speaking, Budapest's Meininger has all the qualities required, more space, an amazing atmosphere. You can get anywhere easily as the location is perfect. One can achieve discounts for various services just for being a guest. The lobby is big and modern, free-time space is something many hotels can dream of! The kitchen is very functional, cared of and beautiful. Most of the staff are friendly - I really have no bad things to say. *Suggestion is to have a free tap water at the reception for a reusable bottle, just like they have it in Amsterdam, it's a very convenient thing. *For anyone reading and planning on going to Budapest, make sure to pay a public transportation ticket before the ride!

We stayed at this place for one night only but it was the worst night of my life. I dont know if the lady at the desk didn’t like us and that’s why she put us in the first floor where you can hear all the noise (i guess it’s from the kitchen?). From 9 pm to after MIDNIGHT, 1 am, i could hear slamming doors, people YELLING and LAUGHING so so hard, like they were right there with me. Seems like they don’t have any “silence/quiet” policy. I couldn’t get any sleep. AT ALL. It was really bad. Would never come back. I’m deeply unsatisfied. I know there are things about a hotel you can’t change, but noise/control of your guests is something that can and should be done. People need to rest.

Customer service was really good, very hospitable, warmly welcomed us and always ready to answer any questions we asked . The check in time is 3pm but room was ready when we arrived and offered us for early check in, which was very convenient. Room was clean, spacious but not really sound proofed. We heard the footsteps from upstairs and around us, but in night time was quiet, so not really bothering to us . Breakfast was ok , a bit crowded because of the holidays season. Variety of choices and standard buffet breakfast. Private pay parking is next to the hotel. Great location for good price .

The team here have been super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and functional, in fact the hotels cleanliness was excellent. The location was great to see Budapest with the market just next door.
