MEININGER Hotel Berlin Tiergarten

The Good: This hotel is a solid, no-fuss choice for budget-conscious travelers, especially families and groups. The location is a major plus to discover west Berlin and Charlottenburg – it's quiet, situated in a diplomatic/residential area near the Tiergarten park, yet within reasonable walking distance to the Zoo Station (Bahnhof Zoo) and the buzzing Kurfürstendamm. Public transport links are excellent. The rooms are basic but functional, and modern. The 24-hour reception and luggage storage are very convenient for flexible schedules. Overall, it feels more like a modern hostel-hotel hybrid, which works well for its price point. The Not-So-Good: It lacks the polish and amenities of a full-service hotel. Don’t expect daily room service, a restaurant, or a luxury atmosphere. The common areas and hallways can feel a bit utilitarian and busy, especially with larger groups. The "quiet area" claim can be hit or miss depending on your fellow guests, and the walls are not the thickest. The bed sheets were unclean and dirty. Looks like they werent changed after the guest before.

Hello, the rooms are comfy and cozy, fits perfectly for business trips or families. Also, would like to thank for professional staff. Especially for security guard who has black beard and cool hairstyle. Made all problems go away. Last but not least for example worth of service to reseptionist Artesa, who always greets guests with wide smile and offers help anytime even she is busy. This is our second time here, hope to come back again!

Had the best time here :) this is my second time with Meininger Berlin at a diff location and I very much like this Tiergarten one! There are many shops around for grocery shopping and a couple of gyms nearby. There were a couple of issues with my room but eventually we got it resolved. I was allowed an early check in which was nice after getting off a long haul flight :) also the dining area is nice and peaceful. Will definitely book again when I return to one of my favourite cities!

As far as I can tell, your hotels never fail to fulfill the most important part of an stay, impeccable cleanliness throughout. Hotel, common area, rooms and bedding. So any review I give is in context: At this location, common area was a delight. The room was relatively small for a six bed dorm. I had never been to one your hotels with bed frames made of metal. No matter what, metal frame end up to be shaky.

Good value for money and conveniently located close to transport and the centre. We stayed 2 days in a triple room. Everything is clean and well laid out, the staff are friendly. They forgot to give us sheets for one of the beds, but it was easy to get them from reception. The breakfast was good, buffet style. Booking is easy on their website. The place is cashless which can be irritating. A good choice.

Best pinball machine ever!! That thor multibal (or iron man multiball) was so satisfying to get. Also very friendly staff and cheap bike rental. Only the rooms are a bit small for four people, but the beds are super comfortable! Location is also great and there is a big parking garage underneath the hotel.

We stayed for a few days and found the Tiergarten hotel to be very comfortable. The room was huge, with enough beds for us and our 4 children. We especially liked that the toilet, sink, and shower were all in separate rooms so that we did not have a situation where the bathroom was blocked by one person. The breakfast was delicious and eat-all-you-want, which really set us up well for our long days of sightseeing! At the end of the day we enjoyed spending time in the bar/lounge. Drinks were reasonable prices and there were also well-stocked vending machines for drinks and snacks, which again were reasonably priced. There was also a shopping centre next door with a supermarket.

3 nts stay to see fri 12-12 Radiohead show. Fairly basic accommodation, but with a comfortable sleep and very good yet small shower/wc. Excellent public transport (tram, bus, U) to connect with districts east and HBf. Recommended. Would stay here again.

I wasn't terribly impressed with this location. There were some definite positives: Laundry for 7 dollars, convenient outlet locations, very good security. Some areas fell flat for me however. I asked for a spoon in the dining area so I can eat my takeout, they gave me spoons with actual crust on them. They were gross. It made me not ever want to try dinner at the hotel because I no longer trusted their cleanliness. Also, my sink was clogged. I didn't request a new room because my trip was long and it would have required too much energy to get a new one. The room I had was also very far from the nearest elevator. I had to walk down several halls to get there which is bothersome with luggage. Another highlight was the bathroom. The water got very hot very fast. It was a stand up shower that looked very clean. The room felt a bit cramped, but they did manage to fit four beds in one room, which is impressive in itself, especially knowing each bed had their own outlet. There was plenty of table space and the tv seemed to be motion activated. There's a kitchen area in the second floor. The fridge smelled but that's where you find the convenient laundry. There's a vending machine as well which I liked. The only negative about that is that the put different snacks in the same row. Something you want could be behind something you do want which is kind of a tease. The beds were comfortable to me. And the room was very clean upon arrival. The place wasn't expensive so I think you get around what you pay for. If I were management, I would work on the details. The little things that could make you lose faith in the owners. Whether it's double checking to make sure everything works properly and is up to standards. The concepts and idea behind the systems are very efficient and convenient. Execution and attention to detail needs to be improved.
