We had breakfast here and it was absolutely magnificent. The staff was fantastic, and the service was super super quick. We had the BLT with a fried egg and it was out of this world, slightly spicy cooked at the right temperature on a fantastic warm bagel. My family had the avocado toast, and it was also very good. The bacon was super crispy. The place is very calm close to the center of Florence but right by the river without a lot of pedestrian traffic. The flat white with almond milk was excellent and vanilla latte with oat was also very good. They also offer watermelon juice and coconut water, which are served fresh and cold. Very few places offer this in Florence. Prices where good for the quality and freshness of the product This is a great healthy option to have brunch our breakfast in Florence. We would definitely come back to try the pastries as well.

Google
The hype is real! This is some of the most delicious food we’ve had on our trip. The meals feel familiar, but the flavors are distinctly unique. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu but I highly recommend the strawberry pancakes and the hasbrowns! Also the scrambled eggs are seasoned (which doesn’t seem like a huge deal, but for us it is). On top of that, the staff is really kind and inviting. We will be back for sure to try more of the menu.

Google
A MUST EAT in Florence! Fresh squeezed orange juice, the cinnamon rolls are so soft, gooey, and filling, and the poached egg sandwich on sourdough (add the avocado!) were the best way to start the day. This place was a hit for our family of 6 (4 kids ages 5-9) and they also had delicious kid-sized pancakes and large cappuccinos. Staff was very friendly and service was great

Google
Definitely my favourite place for brunch in Florence. Excellent quality ingredients, the savoury dishes are always very special, sophisticated and delicious. Here I had the best chai latte in town, too bad though that if you ask for the version with vegetable milk there is a price increase. The desserts are generally very very sweet, which I personally don't appreciate too much. And especially after ordering their bruch I hardly have room for dessert as the portions are large. I have often recommended this restaurant to friends and relatives.

Google
Perfect place for a breakfast in the heart of Florence - we came here on Saturday morning and got a table without waiting. The food is very tasty, there's a nice choice of breakfasts and I fully recommend to try their watermelon juice! :)

Google
I knew this place was going to be good because of the two very long lines outside of this bakery when I arrived there. One line was to be seated, and the other long line was for take out orders only. I was only visiting Florence for a day, and I decided to grab a takeout treat for the road. Once I got inside of this bakery. My eyes locked in of the beautiful display of cinnamon rolls. These were the best-looking cinnamon rolls I have seen in a while. The smell alone intrigued me to want to raise up like an old school cartoon and be carried away by scent by my nose. They looked delicious, and I could not wait to try this cinnamon roll. So I ordered one for the bus trip and one to heat up when I got home. I don't know what it is about Italy, but Italy has some of the freshest food you will ever eat. This cinnamon roll was so fresh and prepared to perfection. I took one bite and could not refrain myself from indulging in more than I wanted to eat. Needless to say, it was simply delicious and is well worth a trip to Florence Italy. The next day, I heated the second one up in the stove and ate it with a tall glass of cold milk, and it was just as good, if not better, the next day. If you are in Florence, Italy, go try this cinnamon roll. If cinnamon rolls are not your thing, then try one of their other many desserts. Or sit down and have their brunch or breakfast meals. You will not be disappointed.

Google
Our first stop for food during our trip to Florence, and the food could not have been more delicious and fresh. More importantly, they had great customer service and a caring team. We had an issue, and after we noticed it, Chloe comped our whole meal. We did not expect that from her. It was very generous and demonstrates the high standards they hold themselves to at Melaluca. Thank you Chloe!!!

Google
Absolutely divine - the best breakfast by a mile. Portions are huge and the taste is amazing.. if you eat anywhere in Florence this is the place to go.

Yelp
The cutest café that absolutely lives up to the hype! GET THE CINNAMON ROLL!! I thought I'd be the only one at 7:30am but it was completely full! Such a fun departure from traditional Italian fare during our trip to Florence.

Yelp
Another cute and comfortable coffee spot close to both our hotel and a tour meeting spot. The people working that morning were so friendly and welcoming, and seemed to be that way for every person already in there and those who walked in after us. My husband really wanted a pastry, but I wasn't really hungry, so I just got the Golden iced latte (€5). My husband ordered the Magic (€3) and their pistachio cornetto, which was one of the fanciest we'd seen. The drinks and his pastry came out quickly, and all were equally delicious. The service was great and we loved the feel of the space itself: the interior was bright and open and airy, and the outdoor patio, though a bit tight, was comfortable and shaded, with a great view of the river and the part of the city beyond.

Yelp
Wonderful little breakfast place. Best American eggs and bacon I've had in Italy... crispy bacon is perfect! The cinnamon roll was to die for! Good coffee too. Definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
Bright, welcoming spot to have breakfast with a menu of creatively created choices. The service was friendly, quick and the server answered any questions we had. The food was well prepared and tasted wonderful.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Wow! What a lovely breakfast/lunch spot. Staff was warm & welcoming from the moment we waking through the door. Their food was some of the best we had during our trip. The sausage was so fresh and flavorful, this is a must if you don't have dietary/religious restrictions. Let me talk about the pancakes. There are no words for those pancakes!! They are a must; no questions whatsoever. Also, as american breakfasts aren't that common, this was a nice break from all the cornettos LOL. The cinnamon roll was fantastic & all the pastries looked amazing, if only I could've tried them all.
google avatar

Bethany B.

Yelp
Wonderful little café! Absolutely incredible baked goods. I had two wonderful cappuccinos here and a pumpkin loaf that was to die for. And if you're American, this café is more akin to our coffee culture at home: single or espresso and lighter roasts as opposed to the dark Robusto that is more common in Italy. For this reason, I was unsurprised to see a large number of American college students both times I went. Definitely worth a stop when you're in Florence!
google avatar

Tawny M.

Yelp
If you are looking for a more substantial breakfast this is the place. Everything is delicious, the cinnamon roll is the best I have ever had. And the breakkie is great to split. Portions are generous. It is on the pricey side, I would encourage getting a pastry and splitting the larger plates. Lovely atmosphere and servers are great!
google avatar

Alejandro O.

Yelp
Honestly, it was great! The pancakes were delicious! The mimosa had fresh orange juice, i can not complain at all
google avatar

Mannie S.

Yelp
This spot seems to be super popular for Americans, most customers here speaks American English which is quite interesting. The coffee here is on the spot! Absolutely no complain here. The food items we got were pretty good - more like what you would find at a brunch spot in US - but they made them very well. The pastries, interestingly is also American style, which is a minus for me, as personally I prefer Italian pastries a lot better. But if you are in town and craving for some American sweets, here's your spot!
google avatar

Brandi I.

Yelp
It's a good spot by the river with free WiFi if you have some time to kill. Sit indoors or outside, there's room either way. The matcha was the best one that I have had since coming to Italy so that was a pleasant surprise. Their sweet potato fries were also good, but the spicey mayo that comes with them was not. There was just too much going on with it. Their service is okay. Some were helpful and paying attention to patrons and others were not - like oblivious to what was happening around them level of not helpful.

Ed L.

Yelp
When you are in Florence, Italy don't miss out on this exceptional breakfast/lunch eatery. Be prepared for a wait.
google avatar

Monica U.

Yelp
closed until jan 4th at 8am. i missed them and thought it would be worth sharing. I will come by once it is open.

Salam A.

Yelp
I really liked the food I got overall but The coffee was very very bitter and did not have much flavor! My husband loved the pancakes and said they were amazing. The service was really good and quick. If you can make it there early to walk the by the bridge then it's totally worth it! We also got the hasbrown but it wasn't the best & it was kind of burnt.

Jaime R.

Yelp
Excellent quality food. Perhaps better than breakfast places in the US. Fast and friendly service. Prices are reasonable.

Emily S.

Yelp
obviously amazing cinnamon rolls, but the bagels are also good! the closest to american bagels in florence imo. the coffee is meh

Yelp
Came in for a quick breakfast prior to meeting for a wine tour. Got there about 8:45 am and arrived just before the crowds, so we had our choice of places to sit. They have a good selection of different coffee drinks and tea as well as several pastries and breads. They also have several larger breakfast items. We had the eggs Benedict (stubbed tomato for the spinach). Eggs we're cooked perfectly, hollandaise was a bit tangy-it was a delicious dish. Also had the big brekkie-2 poached eggs, 2 HUGE slices of sourdough toast, bacon, sausage, Avocado and a salad. Again eggs cooked great, as well as the sausage and bacon. Service was very quick and attentive. Good for a quick or sit down breakfast.

Declan P.

Yelp
So overrated. Bagel was a hockey puck. Only good thing is the cinnamon roll. Don't bother waiting in line for this, so overrated.

Joshua T.

Yelp
Coffee is okay, service could be better. Ordering process is inconsistent. Prices are high.

Chloe W.

Yelp
Wow. This place is amazing. We waited a long time in line here, probably 30 minutes but it was worth it. Good and cute breakfast spot. It seems like they change up their menu too which is cool. I got the birria tacos, which I know was a weird choice to get at a breakfast cafe in Italy. However, they were amazing and flavorful. I also got an iced vanilla latte that was good. The service was fast as well. You can sit down and get served, or choose to wait in line for a pastry and coffee. It seemed pricier than other breakfast places, but not by a lot.

Lesley C.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere, food was delicious and the staff were all friendly! Good value for what we ordered.
google avatar

Victoria H.

Yelp
This was the best breakfast I've ever had. In my whole life. Wow. We started with the iced coffee with vanilla and it was just like coffee in the US. One of the best iced coffees I've had. The perfect amount of sweet and super good beans. Next the cinnamon roll came out and WOW it was the best cinnamon roll I've ever eaten. Warm and soft which I was not expecting. Has a cream cheese frosting on top that was perfection. Later we got the Smokey bacon Benedict and the chili oil eggs both of which were delicious. The like hollandaise on the Benedict was so delicious. I wish I could eat this again for the first time and I'd like to eat it every day I'm here. THIS PLACE IS A MUST VISIT!!!

Yelp
Like all the past reviews I concur that the food here is awesome as well as the service. My wife and I stopped in on Monday prior to touring Firenze for the day. My wife went with the Big Brekke, I went with the Avocado Breakfast. Both came with eggs cooked to order. The sourdough bread base was tasty and complemented the meal very well. The cappuccinos were great and hit the caffeine need for the day. They are located on the left side of the street about a quarter mile from the Ponte Vecchio bridge. I bought several chocolate chip cookies to go to share with my son and nephew (who decided to sleep in).

Ava H.

Yelp
Adorable spot with incredibly delicious food. Although its not the typical Italian experience, genuinely such amazing and creative food. Highly recommend! I had the cinnamon roll, and I was stunned with how amazing it was, thats a must buy. The tacos and avocado toast were also incredible purchases, cant recommend enough.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
SPECTACULAR and I do not overstate. First, friendly, efficient, unaffected service. Then, breakfasts to dream about. My wife had a simple one: creamy scrambled eggs in the French manner, with spinach, and fine cappucino. And a splendid baked-on-premises French croissant, buttery and authentic.I went for the breathtaking "big brekkie" of scrambled eggs, sourdough toast, sausage, bacon, hallooumi cheese, roasted tomato, and a large cappucino. Everything was memorably fresh and full of flavor: no need to reach for salt, pepper, or hot sauce. Small tables and it's busy, but no one was rushed. I think I will need a Spartan repast tomorrow morning, but after that we will return. Don't miss this place: after a pleasant walk along the Arno, it is Paradise Found.
google avatar

Lexie G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with the location right by the Arno river. Always efficient service and great brunch food! I took my family who were visiting here and they raved about it being one of their favorite restaurants we went to in Florence. Highly recommend the cinnamon rolls and banana bread!
google avatar

Tova B.

Yelp
great study spot during the week. super cute small cafe. kinda ridiculously busy on the weekend so definitely avoid unless you are okay with waiting an hour or so. cinnamon rolls looked and (from what i heard) tasted amazing. never saw any gluten free pastries but no worries. i had the avocado toast and they were able to sub the bread for a gluten free cornbread which was pretty good. i was always full for like 6-7 hours after eating this because it was pretty dense but also super nutritious and filling. their matcha was pretty good as well.
google avatar

Josh W.

Yelp
Smacked. American breakfast in Firenze or however u spell it. I fuck with the vibe if u want a cinnamon bun rip it so worth it even if you look like a melting ice cream cone with ur shirt off hahahaha Fr. Euro review #1

Bri M.

Yelp
Could definitely be nicer... especially to Americans Fine overall I guess... a smile isn't so hard
google avatar

Ulrick M.

Yelp
I couldn't try Melaleuca out the last time I was in Florence. But this time I had the chance to on multiple mornings! It did not disappoint. Their cinnamon rolls are delicious, their other pastries and baked goods were amazing. Breakfast plates were flavorful and unique. The team was attentive and patient. The space is bright and seating is limited so get there early if you have a large group.
google avatar

Yanna I.

Yelp
EVERYTHING we tried here was phenomenal. All the ingredients are so fresh, flavorful, and just delicious! Fantastic cappuccino, best coffee I've tried yet in the Tuscany area, and really good OJ as well. Beautiful environment, very nice and helpful staff. Would go back here for breakfast in a heartbeat.
google avatar

Nancy R.

Yelp
Tiny space with great food. Loved my pancakes - some of the best I've enjoyed! Nice ambiance and staff.
google avatar

Steven V.

Yelp
Great breakfast place in Firenze. Great food, friendly staff and a great place to start your day, right next to the water.
google avatar

Maddie H.

Yelp
It was very crowded when we got here but we were seated right away. The staff was very friendly and we were served fairly quickly, especially for the amount of people that were there. My friend and I shared the sweet potato fries which were absolutely delicious. They were also able to make the pancakes without nuts for me since I have an allergy. My friend and I shared those as well and they were very fluffy and the fruit was fresh. I would highly recommend this to anyone in Florence!

DJ S.

Yelp
Great breakfast place right along the river. It was busy but the wait wasn't too bad. The breakfast and drinks were fantastic, and the staff were all super friendly. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Darin S.

Yelp
Small quaint café close to the main attractions of the city with great attentive service. All of employees were helpful and friendly. All of the food were homemade. The green tea, orange juice, lemonade and nordic pastries were delicious. Will definitely return from the USA to come back

Shawna L.

Yelp
A sweet little spot on the river. We walked to enjoy some breakfast. Easy to find. Busy, but only had to wait 10 minutes. I enjoyed the blackberry pancakes, bacon, & eggs. My daughter tried the cinnamon roll & banana bread....had plenty of leftovers to eat in our Airbnb the next morning! Polite and kind service. Worth the trek to get there!
google avatar

RaeLynn C.

Yelp
We stopped in by chance one afternoon while walking around Florence, I'm so glad we did. It is small and very busy but charming. I had the strawberry ricotta pancakes with bacon and they were out of this world, I could eat them every day and never tire of them. They make their own sodas and I had the lemonade and my friend had the ginger beer both were excellent. While I was searching my purse for a charger one of the staff kindly offered to plug my phone in which was such a nice gesture. We spoke to one of the owners, the wife of the husband and wife team, such a lovely person and we made sure to tell her how much we loved the food. As we were leaving we saw the baked goods, everything looked fabulous especially the cinnamon rolls but we decided to get two cookies and they definitely did not disappoint. If you get a chance don't hesitate to stop in and enjoy the food, it will put a smile on your face!
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
I loved this cute little place so much! I ordered a cappuccino and a cinnamon roll to go and it all tasted so good! The cinnamon roll is absolutely amazing! It was all very affordable as well. The staff were so kind and welcoming and I love that it's right next to the river!

Alisha H.

Yelp
Everything is done really well here. Beautiful cafe with an amazing staff. The cappuccino and pastries were delicious! Loved it and will definitely return.

Anna Lee H.

Yelp
Been here too often on my vacation in Firenze. It is one of the few places I've found that serves real breakfast- in additional to the usual Italians election of pastries, they serve AMAZING breakfasts during the week (brunches on weekend Fri-Sun, a slightly fancier menu) and have fast, kind service.
google avatar

Sydney A.

Yelp
The best breakfast and brunch spot in Florence. It's pretty far away but definitely worth the walk. The Australian vibe is amazing and the employees are so nice and warm. The coffee and matcha drinks are amazing. My go to breakfast is the sourdough toast with scrambled eggs and a side of bacon! Love Melaleuca so much!!

Madeline G.

Yelp
Today, I finally got the opportunity to try Melaleuca Bakery + Bistrot in Florence, Italy, and let's just say it did NOT disappoint! Upon arrival, I was greeted by incredibly friendly staff and a bustling cafe filled with the chatter of many students from the school next door. The cafe was beautiful and filled with lots of natural sunlight. There were so many choices on the menu that it was impossible for me to choose! I was quickly seated and could admire the beautiful views through Melaluca's large windows facing the river. I was so impressed by how fast my food arrived and how delicious it looked when it came out. I was so excited to dig in, and it tasted just as good (if not better) than it looked! I didn't want the meal to end! I was surprised by how reasonable the prices were! They were perfect for a young student studying abroad. Overall, this was the BEST brunch I have had in Florence! The cafe is in the most amazing location, perfect for a quick lunch in between classes. The extremely delicious food, amazing ambiance, fantastic location, and friendly staff make this cafe a MUST visit if you are in Florence! 10/10!!!

Greg D.

Yelp
Good food but the level of disrespect at this establishment is outrageous. I flew from the United States just for Melaleuca cinnamon rolls and I am leaving Firenze without Melaleuca cinnamon rolls. It appears a requirement to work at Melaleuca is to be a pathological liar. I ordered my rolls only to be told they have run out as I see table after table around me indulge themselves into cinnamon rolls despite sitting down after me. Never coming back again you have ruined Italians for me and possibly cinnamon rolls.
google avatar

Gloria T.

Yelp
I never ever write reviews but this is one of the best brunch places I have EVER been to. The prices are so reasonable and everything I ordered was perfect. I would eat here everyday if I could. The staff is friendly and personable. Also the food is so fresh it tastes like it is from a farm next door. If you are debating between restaurants, COME HERE you won't regret it. Such a gem spot and cute ambience too :)

Janet R.

Yelp
Fabulous! We had been looking for a bkfst which offered eggs - something besides pastries & bread. This is it! So good! Tiny but well staffed. Our meals were delicious and full!! Highly recommend!

Andres G.

Yelp
BEST BRUNCH IN FLORENCE! Truly a magical experience. From the food, to the service, to the ambience, to the owners hospitality. If you are looking for a satisfying brunch experience - do not miss this place. We ordered a few items. Had the best chai oat milk latte, scramble egg toast and the best carnitas tacos. Can't wait to return one day.
google avatar

Hailey H.

Yelp
LOVE this restaurant. It's the best brunch in Florence and they have incredible 100% handmade in house baked goods, cakes, cinnamon rolls, basically all the things you miss from being home in the US. They also have great WiFi, and beautiful handmade ceramic cups for their coffees. Highly recommended.

Privamicia M.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Florence! Charming spot on the river. Scrambled eggs, delicious bacon and incredible pastries. Owner and staff were all very friendly. Coffee was also wonderful.

Yelp
Quintessential definition of a 'hidden gem' a stone throw from the Arno River. People - incredibly warm and welcoming. Atmosphere - simple, clean and relaxing. Food and coffee - homemade from scratch and off the charts delicious. Chloe, her husband (Australian transplants to Florence) and their staff are the best. And they are all super smart. They identified a niche market - Foreign students studying abroad - and created a place for them to grab a quick coffee and food on the run or just sit, jump on WiFi and do homework. Lots of locals are daily customers too. Everything is made fresh daily and is truly delicious...though my personal favorite was the frosted coffee roll. Not exactly low calorie - but worth every bite. Most important for me - they didn't look at me like I had three heads when I asked for a 'large iced coffee black'. As a Bostonian, that is the 1st food group to me! Went there every day I was in Florence and can not wait to go back!
