Google
The pizzeria part is very good, but the entrees are delicious. I had the skirt steak with chimichura sauce and risotto with eggplant and cream sauce... OUTSTANDING. THANK YOU for the superb dining experience! James n Bob

Google
A pizza place without pizza! We chose the place to eat pizza and when we got there we could only order 1 cheese pizza, and we were a group of 10. We had to wait over hour and half for overly priced bland pasta. Other guest came in after us and ate before us. Drinks took also a long time to make. Very short staff. Honestly don’t know how they have such a high rating.

Lydia S.

Google
Absolutely our favorite place in Mirimar! Andy, Enrique and Chrystal are so welcoming and professional. We LOVE you guys!! Food is top notch.

Google
Calzones, pizzas and pasta w/ seafood are great! Sometimes not everything they have in the menu is available, it's better to make a quick call to make sure of it. Service is excellent. Restaurant is just in the corner, peaceful place with bossa nova and Frank Sinatra music sounding. Drinks, from wines to Italian beer. Recommended.

Leslie B.

Google
OMG….what a jewel. Andy is pure perfection and the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend giving this a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Google
The ambience was nice, pesto pasta was all liquid as in oil, unsure if chef ever preped the pasta, veggie pizza was okay, the couldn’t add veggies to pasta, dnt have many pasta options that server promised, we ordered coffee dnt come for long time until we reminded for 3rd time, most servers don’t speak English , disappointed place they charge 8$ for marinara sauce, $5 for additional veggies very expensive and service isn’t received accordingly to what we pay

Google
The food was good, prices were a little bit expensive, the service could have been better. We received 2 menus with the same products, but different prices (~ 50% higher). When we asked the waiter about the difference and what was the correct price, he looked so amazed, didn't say anything and walked away. We paid $6.50 for a bottle of water and wanted to order a steak that was at $33 on one menu and at $54 on the other menu. We've been told that none of the steaks was actually available and they could only offer us the same steak for $49! We ended up ordering a churrasco...

Google
This is the best Italian Puerto Rico has to offer. The food is amazing, the cocktails were fantastic, and the service was perfect. The restaurant itself is beautiful, tastefully decorated and not overstated. There is a valet, so parking is not a problem. For the food and service you receive, the prices are very affordable. This is a must try when in Puerto Rico.

Yelp
Don't waste your time coming to this "business". You'll wait for 3 hours for your dishes to come out at various times so you can't eat together. Surrounding tables complained about the food taking too long and we didn't realize how bad it would be. We then had the incorrect items delivered and the "manager" was extremely rude when we tried to rectify the issue. He continued to drink wine and eat with his friends. We ran into another issue and tried to address it again and the manager gave a false name and dropped the f bomb at our table. No discount, no apologies, and was told to go write a review so here we are. I've never had such a horrible experience at a dining establishment in my entire life.

Laura M.

Yelp
It took 30 minutes to just get water. We weren't given menus when we sat down, so I got them for my table. It took an hour and a half to get 2 of our meals (there were 3 of us). The third plate still had not arrived by the time the other two were finished. The food was good but not worth the wait.

Caryn L.

Yelp
This was the best dinner we've had in Puerto Rico. The hostess & waitress were delightful. Crystal & Estefany made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. We had the Croquette di Patate with chorizo jam for an appetizer and vegetarian pizza for dinner paired with a sauvingnon blanc from Chile. The ambiance was lovely. The wine menu was extensive. Highly recommend.

Lennie C.

Yelp
Melanzana the service is top, Italian food the best i ever had and the ambiance is just romantic and elegant!
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
Croquettes were good. Soup was OK. The pizzas were very very good. Service a little slow. There were a few people in the restaurant but they were very loud. And the music was very loud too.

Radames M.

Yelp
TOURIST TRAP ALERT!!! Poor quality service. We were ignored for the whole stay and we had to wait a good 45 minutes for simple pizza on a practically empty restaurant, and we ended up taking it to go. $60 wasted on a mediocre small pizza and 2 bad sangria cocktails ($17ea!) Bad service and mediocre food...waste of money.

Yelp
En mi vida he tenido un servicio donde explícitamente la gerencia trate tan mal a sus empleados y a sus clientes! I have never had an experience as bad as this one at any restaurant ever! They treat their staff and clients horribly! Incredibly insulting! Do not come here!

Ramon O.

Yelp
Spectacular italian food, service feels like family and the ambiance is just the perfect place to be.

Yelp
As soon as we landed in Puerto Rico me and my bf were on the hunt for food, as many places are actually not open until 3. We were so happy to find this place, very clean and charming place. We wanted to try the pizza as we saw there was a firewood oven and that's the only way to have pizza but we decided on the octopus and another dish (I forgot the name) but it came with clams and scallops in a sauce. So so so delicious! Everything was freshly made, and appetizing. They were able to make me a margarita and it was also delicious, I ordered two lol. The waiter was so helpful, and outgoing. Definitely best first experience of Puerto Rico!

Black G.

Yelp
I wish I read the reviews. Very bad service and food is cooked from frozen ingredients. The meatballs came cold and the risotto was served burned. Save your money.

Yelp
Traté de pre pagar una pizza para ir a recogerla ( o perder lo pagado ) y me dijeron que tenía que presentarme allí y solo entonces me la prepararían mientras esperaba. ¿ quién tuvo esa brillante idea?
google avatar

Yelp
The most delicious pizza!! We went back to get more of the one with eggplant (on the bottom). I don't like to visit many pizza places because I often think "pizza is pizza". One better than the other, but pizza. But this pizza with the BRICK OVEN is the best ever! You will not regret it. Also, the eggplant pizza was refreshing for a later evening where you want to eat something but not too heavy.

Yelp
This time its my wife's opinion for a 5 stars. So, guess what, I am not gonna be the one to have a different opinion. Service was excellent and if you like to taste something different out of the ordinary, give this place a shot.

Yelp
After flying into San Juan, my girlfriend and I wanted something familiar before we hopped into the local cuisine. We stopped by Melanzana Bistro Pizzeria to satisfy this hankering. We ordered a Campana pizza and it definitely satisfied. Although it was a flatter, flame-cooked pizza, 1 pizza filled up 2 hungry travellers. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good meal and a friendly environment. EDIT (1 week later): Had to check in again to make sure we wern't just there on a good day. We were right, came back and tried it again, I went with the Diavola pizza. The chorizo was spicy, but tasty. The chicken dish that my girlfriend got was creamy and tender, and the alfredo noodles had a little zest from a lemon that complemented them well. Melanzana Bistro + Pizzaria held up, and tasted great again.

Yelp
Another lovely surprise. After eating nothing but MREs for work, I was able to have a proper dinner here. Twice! Not sure why I decided to order the churrasco steak at an Italian restaurant but I felt like I needed something more substantial than pasta. The cook on the steak was on point. A little too salty, but a really nice portion at a decent price around $22. The croquettes were also really amazing. I was so hungry that I didn't even bother to study the menu like I normal do, but I want to say that the tasty crunchies came on a bed of arugula with some kind of bacon jam. Sweet, salty, crunchy, and cheesy? Yes, please! Service was a little slow both times I came but it was worth the wait imo. Yeah, I'd come back. Not to mention that we sat at the bar and the bartender was pretty awesome.

Yelp
5 Stars! We wandered into this great establishment after another restaurant messed up our reservation. I'm so glad we did. All our food was amazing. This was day 5 of our vacation and most the food up to this point was bland and dry. Caesar Salad was top notch. Appetizers: Meatballs and carpaccio Both were amazing. The meatballs have a stroganoff sauce that was excellent. The pizza is some of the best we've had. Wood Buning ovens resulting in excellent crusts. Top notch service as well. I highly recommend.

Molly S.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Spicy (I had the shrimp linguine special that was spicy) and flavorful. Family had pizzas and lasagna. All delicious. Service was good - don't expect fast, it is more of a dining experience.

Gilda A.

Yelp
Pizza was hard like a shoe sole and with cheap tomato sauce , waiter was annoyed he had to serve us and was upset when we reminded him that he forgot to bring us Parmesan cheese/pepper flakes never came to see how we were doing.

Yelp
Where do I start,? The restaurant is pretty, good drinks, the end.. Our experience. We ordered two appetizers, two entrees and drinks. What we got. NO appetizers, we asked to speak to the manager, first we where told he was not available, after we insisted, the same short huy with glasses that was walking around the entire time came to tell us he was the not the manager but what was the matter, you could FEEL he was not interested in hearing anything. What happened . The waiter served the entrees after a very long wait, and after having been told the appetizers where on their way (no,they where not) When we asked we where told they didn't have lettuce for the salad or Eggplant for the other appetizer,we where never offered a different option of appetizers, nothing. The waiter told us it was his first night so we didn't hold a grudge and tipped him 20%.,this was not his fault 100% but the rude clueless manager should be fired. After he decided to talk to us, I asked him why no one gave us second appetizers option,no answer,he said they ran out but he would bring a salad on the house,we said ok then he said it would take a long time! At this point I was upset and told him to make a simple salad, after having had this bad experience the salad shouldn't be at the bottom of the orders,he went into the kitchen and came out with a salad, mixed greens wich would have been an acceptable substitute for the original Cesar I ordered. Heres the thing, the bad bad attitude this clueless man had ruined our dining experience completely, things can go wrong, its the customer service that matters he acted like he did us a favor to get a salad, insulting is not the word, this "man" was SO disrespectful,! When the bill came the salad which he offered "on the house" was on the bill! I questioned it,we both heard the same thing,"on the house" Mind you, it's not the money, it's the lack of respect and service to the guest after THEY ruined our dinner. I tried to talk to him,he basically told me,"I got you the salad "Im done with you. We won't go back, mediocre food (really) could have gone to Olive Garden, would have gotten the same mediocre chicken and my salad, would have been treated better for sure. I will warn all my guests,I have eight Air BnBs in the area, they will never get any their business either, too many great restaurants in San Juan and Santurce, should have gone to Serafina or Secarelli (both close)as we had originally planned but tried to find a new ' Gem" instead we got treated like garbage and payed $186 for the "pleasure ", ( mostly drinks) don't bother, unless you want your meal served with a side of disrespect. I expect a nasty retort from them,I should have read the bad reviews before I went, not to mention the disgusting answers to bad reviews by other equally unhappy guests. Keep up the good work, soon you'll have no business!

Yelp
Please save yourself the time and MONEY, this place is an absolute SCAM. It used to be great, but ever since they changed owners, the food is NOTHING like it used to be. Many of the items in the menu were not available, and those that were tasted AWFUL. Do not be fooled by the nice ambiance and exterior of the place, we barely ate anything and it was very overpriced. We ordered a large pizza and were surprised by the small sized pizza they brought us. The table next to ours had a much larger pizza, so I thought they simply made a mistake. When they brought us our bill, they charged us for the large pizza and when we asked what size our pizza was, they said it was the large size. I then asked what size pizza the table next to ours had and he said they had a bigger size that was not "in the menu".... WHAT???!!! It made no sense. He was clearly lying in our faces. We canceled the rest of our food order and left, hungry and unsatisfied with the whole experience. We absolutely have no idea how this place is still open.

Miriam M.

Yelp
Carooo para lo mediocre de la comida. Albondigas de bolso de Costo 4 mini bolitas a 16 dólares en sopa de consome de cebolla horrible. Budin fatal !!! Dinero botado!! No vayan!!

Yelp
We stumbled across this restaurant in San Juan. The service was very slow. It took around 40 mins to get our food. They didn't have half of their menu, so I had to change my order two times since they were missing ingredients. That being said, the Margherita pizza wasn't bad, but not nearly worth $20 for a small pizza with just tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil. The salad was great, and the gnocchi was nice, but again, not worth the absurd price. A side of shrimp, which was about six in total was $7. This place is just too expensive for the quality. Our waiter was nice, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but it's pretty empty.

Luis C.

Yelp
Absolutely the worse service . The place wasn't even busy we had a party of 6 . All the food came out at different times . One of the dishes came out after everyone had finished eating . We had to ask for drinks because the waiter wouldn't come back . Absolutely the worse service !!!! I wouldn't come back here even if they pay me . What a shame !

Cate R.

Yelp
The ambiance and location of this restaurant are great. They took our order right away, but it took over 40 minutes for them to offer us water or bring us appetizers. This happened only after we pointed out other tables had been served before us even though they arrived after. They said the chefs were busy with a private event and this was the reason for the delay. The food was ok, huge portions but unseasoned.
google avatar

Carolina F.

Yelp
Do not go here! The service at this place was so bad, I just had to leave a negative review. We were seated but then no one came to take our order or ask if we wanted anything to drink. We waited for around 30 min and kept being ignored by the wait staff. Another table near us was trying to flag down a waiter but kept getting ignored. We ended up just leaving because it was incredibly infuriating.
google avatar

Brianna W.

Yelp
The food here is okay. They seemed to be working on a limited staff so service was a bit lengthy. We waiting about 30 mins before someone asked if we wanted something to drink. We put our food order in right away, which was smart because it took another 45 mins to come out. My boyfriend & I have plenty to talk about so the time didn't seem terrible except the fact that we were hungry. In my opinion, you can skip this place if you're visiting PR.
google avatar

Vince P.

Yelp
2 stars for 2 reasons. We ordered soft drinks and got 1 refill each, i did not know this place in particular doesn't offer free refills. The place across the street does.. which is why I didnt ask. They should've said something. Next, the pizza is just lousy. I wish I could be nicer about it but I got a Margherita pizza and it came out with this weird soupy stuff on top. It was oddly hard on the crust and a soup in the middle. Just an unpleasant pizza. I went to the place across the street the night before and it was very consistent with how i expect pizza, so i had high hopes for this one. Service was fine. It was too expensive. Food just isnt good.
google avatar

Jose Ben T.

Yelp
I went back 3 more times and wanted to update the rating. For quality Italian food in Puerto Rico, try Melanzana.

Jose M.

Yelp
What can i say. The quality used to be outstanding, on prior visits, but today it was reasonable. Of the 5 or 6 main dishes 1-2 were not available I ordered over 6 wines and none were available When finally found a wine i liked, i placed the order and when I tried to order a second bottle could not since that was the only one. The main dishes were good, but the price increased drastically from my last visit. Great place, but I won't return.
google avatar

Natália V.

Yelp
This place is a mess. It took 40min for us to get our pizza. There were 2 servers running around like dizzy roaches while this short guy in glasses, who appeared to be the manager, stood with his mask hanging from his one ear and looked at his phone. Pretty pathetic. Don't recommend this place. By the way, the food wasn't good. We ordered the Melanzana pizza and the main ingredient, the Eggplant, was raw.
google avatar

Ariella P.

Yelp
My husband really enjoyed our meal and service here. I had the gnocchi (amazzzinnggg) and he had the lasagna. Try the focaccia bread as an appetizer, you won't regret it. yes, you do have to pay for water, but $4 for a large bottle (split between my husband and I) worked out just fine. Nice wine selection as well.
google avatar

Captain R.

Yelp
We used to come to this place all the time. Pizza was good! Always used to stop by for lunch and have personal pizzas. Went there today after price hikes on the menu. Absolutely not paying $23-25 for a personal pizza. Sorry, not worth the price.
google avatar

Hector F.

Yelp
Went in for lunch... great place. Had the arugula salad with roasted pistachios, goat cheese, grilled asparagus and pickled onions. Was excellent... although a bit too heavy on the dressing. Would be nice to hold back a bit in the "wetness" of the salad. Also ordered the personal size pizza, Excellent. Had prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella and arugula (yep I love arugula). Sauce wash fresh, light and a hint of sweet. Fantastic. Cheese was excellent quality. Bread tasted fantastic! Although I asked for well done and it was under cooked. A typical issue in P.R... they are a bit gun shy with the ovens. Great fresh ingredients... and very reasonably priced. Definitely going back but gonna insist on cooking that crust a bit more next time!
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Found this place on my first day. It's across from the hotel I am staying at. I am back here again on my second day so that should tell you right there how good the place is. First day I got a drink and the skirt steak. It's served on top of a generous portion of risotto. Absolutely amazing. On my second visit I got the croquettas. Albert very good. I wanted to try something else but the skirt steak was so good on my first visit that I decided to get it again. Def will be back again and prob on this trip since I'm here for 6 more days.

Rob R.

Yelp
Excellent food, friendly service and reasonable. Would recommend. Got one of their brick oven pizzas and a spicy shrimp pasta that was awesome.
google avatar

Kathleen C.

Yelp
Delicious appetizer and pizza. Eggplant is awesome. White pizza to die for. Impeccable service and fairly priced. My go to when I'm in Miramar Puerto Rico

Dwayne H.

Yelp
This is my second time eating here. Both experiences were excellent. Great customer service and amazing food. I had a pizza this time around(vegetarian)-crust was perfect and sauce on point.
google avatar

Guichen W.

Yelp
It is so good and price is very reasonable. I think Puerto Rico has better Italian food than mainland of American. This place is my favorite in Puerto Rico now.
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
Another Argentine Pizzaria in San Juan. Enjoyed this one: upscale bistro/pizzeria. Interior is well designed and comfortable. Very fancy appetizers... looked and tasted good but not classical italian. The pizza was good, fresh ingrediants but the crust was lacking in a bit of flavour and yeast (sorry, I'm italian and LOVE my pizza) I'll go back... there was lots to try on the menu. They have valet parking!!
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
Very clean and modern Italian restaurant with excellent service. I've been here twice and their salads and pizzas are exceptional. Only thing- I wish they would cook the pizza crust a little longer. We asked for extra crispy and it was still a bit undercooked on the bottom middle. Makes for excellent toaster oven leftovers though so not complaining too much! Wine only $5 a glass before 7!

Helen D.

Yelp
We have eaten here a dozen or more times over the years, this location is a block away from our Condo and we have often recommended it to friends. The food was very good even outstanding in the past. But They are done, they are tired and it shows. We ordered a seafood appetizer that was supposed to have fried fish and calamari and we only received a mediocre soggy fried calamari And no explanation as to what happened to the fish. We ordered some wine by the glass and at 7:30pm they had only one glass of Albariño. Really! But the absolutely worst part is I ordered a timbale of melanzana appetizer and got this huge mountain of undercooked eggplant with an inedible tough and bitter skin. A restaurant named Melanzana should be able to present a decent eggplant dish. Nope and even though I couldn't eat it , sent it back, they were happy to charge me $24, they never even asked if I wanted something else. No wonder this once wonderful restaurant was empty!
google avatar

Tyler Z.

Yelp
They made our stay at the caribe Hilton! We actually went twice. After all the fried PR food, it was awesome to find some good, wholesome Italian food. One night we literally just had their Caesar salads to help our digestive system cope with all the PR food. The other night we had their pizza. We seriously love this place and would love to take it back with us. Their service, prices, pizza, salad, and drinks are 1st class. Must visit here if your on vacation or living in SJ. It's a great place for a date.
google avatar

Roxanne O.

Yelp
Two of my friends and I just went here for lunch. It has a clean, classy vibe and was packed so we had to sit at the bar. We ordered two individual pizzas, one Melanzana and one meat pizza. Both were great, the crusts were perfectly crisp and chewy. Another friend ordered the seafood risotto and it was the best dish of the lot. The calamari was crispy, albeit a little thin and my friends thought it was lacking a little salt but i appreciated that it wasn't salty like other places can be.
google avatar

Dakota H.

Yelp
Was so surprised to find some of the best Neapolitan style pizza that I've ever had in San Juan! The pizza was perfect. The mahi mahi was good but not as good as the pizza. The atmosphere felt Italian but in a trendy and unique way. Service was good and the view from the table was nice. Would return!
google avatar

Alberto R.

Yelp
In the heart of Miramar, at the end of Ponce de Leon avenue, this unpretentious Italian bistro takes their pizzas very seriously. Aside from a broad menu, the pizza section offers many unusual combinations difficult to decide on. The choice of the Campana (see pic) was a smart one and the attentive service made for a very pleasant lunch experience.
google avatar

Mel B.

Yelp
The food here tasted fresh and delicious the atmosphere is nice and it's a clean place. I just wish the service had been a little better, waiters switched on us and took way too long to come take our order.
google avatar

Nathan L.

Yelp
Food was good but they take a lot of time to serve, the waiter was a little bit unprofessional, they charge you for WATER, and the prices are rather expensive. If anything, please please serve free water.
google avatar

Rolando D.

Yelp
I am local, made a reservation online, and after that called to confirm and to order my meal on 10/05/20 for the 12:30 pm reservation, at 12 pm I called and said that I was on my way and that they could start coocking my meal, at the moment of the order they did not have the side that I choose after they told me the different options, so I selected somenthing else, then when I arrived to the place at 12:30 I was told that they did not have the sause that was the main ingredient of the dish that I selected, so they added a different sause. (made an entire different dish), on top of that received my food 45 minutes later at 1:15 after I arrived even after I called at 12 pm and asked to start cooking my food because I was very close to the place and short on time.

Ryne S.

Yelp
Just plain amazing. Went there thanks to a recommendation of a co-worker and we felt in love. Started with a rose wine and truly appreciate a place where server have a good knowledge of their wine. Thats a plus and a good way to take care of us: "winnos". Appetizer we had the combo with fried mozzarella, potato turnover with ricotta cheese. Despite being tempted by the risottos and nice looking paste, we felt like a Pizza day. Brick over fresh the Campana with arugula and prosciutto. Amazing!! Wrap up with the chocolate pudding. Great service, even the valet was extremely friendly, awesome decor. Food has placed this place as a true gem not only in Miramar but at all neighborhoods of San Juan.
