Melbourne House

Excellent, traditional B&B. Spacious room, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, nice and peaceful. Full English cooked breakfast was probably best we've enjoyed in many years. Marie is a friendly and professional host and made us feel very welcome. The house is within minutes walk of the lovely town of Bakewell. We didn't want to leave and will certainly be back!!

Booked in for 1 night, wish it was more, Such a lovely welcome by Marie. This b & b is one of the best we have stayed in, great location 5 minutes into town centre, parking a huge bonus. We stayed in room 2 at the back, it was so quiet, the most comfortable king size bed with pillows to match, toiletries provided, absolutely spotless bathroom with fabulous shower. Breakfast was superb, quality ingredients perfectly cooked, must mention the sausages, Marie said its took her a long time to find the quality she was looking for and boy she now has and gluten free too. We can't recommend this place enough we most certainly will be back next year. A big thank you to Marie and John we loved it.

The location was convenient with off road parking. Our room was spotless and very comfortable and carefully thought out. Everything we needed for an overnight stay was provided. The full breakfast was excellent including my vegetarian breakfast. Our host was friendly and courteous. Really good value and recommended.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Melbourne House. We had cosy room 2 which was clean and tidy with modern facilities. Well cooked full English breakfast and flexibility with your choice.||Great to have a carpark though it was only a 5 minute walk into Bakewell. Such lovely hosts of Marie and John and impressed with his choice of Art Deco mirrors and Marie's paintings in the breakfast room. ||||Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful place to stay. Just a few minutes walk from the town centre. The bedroom and ensuite were beautiful and superbly clean. Breakfast was lovely too. Best of all was the warm welcome we received from the hosts. We’d definitely recommend.

Lovely twin room in the annex, spacious, very comfortable beds, clean. Marie and John are excellent hosts, extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious (especially the sausages Marie😉) would and will recommend this fab b&b 😀

Had a lovely stay . The room was very clean & welcoming as was Marie on your arrival.|Breakfast has to be one of the best we have had in a B&B with John cooking a perfect egg that can’t be faulted.|You are a 5 minute walk to the centre of Bakewell & not from Chatsworth House & plenty of walking routes.|All in all can’t fault this place & next time we visit our friends we will definitely stay again.

Well what a place the host Marie & John we delightfull and warming , the breakfast was always filling and i could not belive when Marie always asked us if we would like more , the room was nice and clean the carpark was tad small but we always managed to park our car after a day out ... just want to say to Marie & John well done you made our stay , would stay there again no question about that ! ||just just cuople of mins walk into the mini town which was beautifull .
