Hyde Melbourne Place

The room has a very Melbourne style, with a unique and modern design that reflects the local character. Overall, it was a comfortable stay. The bed was extremely comfy, and I had very good sleep during my stay. The location is excellent, with very easy access to public transport, and many attractions, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance. It is a very convenient area to stay in Melbourne. However, the room was not very quiet at night, as there are many bars nearby, and there was some noise, especially in the late evening. This may be noticeable for light sleepers. I would also say the room was quite dark. The lighting was too dim, which made it difficult to do my makeup even when the blinds were fully open. In addition, the outside of the window was a bit dirty, which slightly affected the overall impression of the room. The breakfast was quite disappointing compared to the overall hotel experience. There were limited options available, and most add-ons were charged extra, which did not feel like good value. As a result, I only had breakfast at the hotel once and chose to go outside for breakfast the next day, where there were many better options nearby. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay thanks to the very comfortable bed and excellent location. I would consider staying here again and hope to have a quieter and brighter room next time.

The room was clean, comfortable, & beautifully presented, & the staff were friendly, welcoming, & attentive throughout my stay. The shower pressure was amazing (very important) & the complimentary water & snacks in the room were refilled daily, which was a nice touch. The location is at the east end of the CBD & a short walking distance to Collins St, Bourke St Mall & QV. The rooftop area is absolutely stunning!!! Oh & there's a reformer in the gym! Brilliant! A few things that could be improved on - the lighting in the room is incredibly dark. Definitely not suitable for women trying to do their make up. I should have brought my own lighting set up... or a perhaps a dimming switch could be considered? Also, slippers in the room would be a nice touch, because *germs* from people walking with their outside shoes on the carpet. The breakfast was pretty average for a 5-star hotel. Minimal options & when I tried to make changes (i'm gluten & dairy free), they weren't very accommodating. A buffet would have been a much better option.

Hyde Melbourne is an excellent place to stay. The room we stayed in was absolutely amazing—beautifully designed, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable and made for a great night’s sleep. The location is also superb, with easy access to everything in Melbourne. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay at Hyde. All the restaurants / bars are amazing, the overall vibe was incredible. We went for an anniversary and baby moon and they really went out of their way to make it special for us which we SO appreciate. We loved that the mini bar snacks were free, it felt like such a treat. We felt like some details could be a bit more refined - stocking up of the mini bar wasn't consistent, the rooms felt like they were serviced quite late in the day, generally when we wanted to come back for a rest before dinner but honestly such minor details for overall and incredible stay that we would recommend to everyone. The location was so so good, so convenient to every place we went to in the city. Overall, highly recommend

Hyde Melbourne Place looks fantastic in photos. The timber finishes, moody lighting and quirky design touches make it extremely Instagrammable. But in person, that play for the Insta post feels a tough too obvious. There’s a faint second-tier-private-school energy about it, straining for prestige rather than just owning what it is. The free drink vouchers sound generous, but the rooftop bar is perpetually fully booked. Even planning days ahead doesn’t guarantee you’ll actually redeem the thing. Included breakfast was fine, but it is limited and fairly middle of the road, but the way the staff deliver the package deal has a way of making you feel like a cheapskate, despite paying north of $330 a night. Outside traffic noise finds its way into your room all night, as does the opening and closing of every other door on your floor, and the midnight doof-doof from the rooftop bar travels downwards with impressive commitment, reminding you of the party you can’t join. Add to that the wildly unsettling reality that staff walk into your room at almost any time, and the overall experience feels less luxurious than advertised. It’s not bad. It’s just trying very hard to be something it hasn’t quite become.

I'd recommend skipping the breakfast & going to one of the amazing cafes close by for more variety for the same price.

Our room and the entire hotel were beautiful. We enjoyed the urban soak room and the bath with city views was stunning. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Don’t pay extra to include breakfast though. Some badly cooked, soggy eggs and a piece of raw tomato is all you can expect, you then have to pay $8 per additional item to make it constitute a proper meal. Disappointing end to an otherwise lovely stay.

Had 2 nights at the Hyde, always wanted to go! It was so quirky starting with the lifts. Great system! Rooms were very quirky too especially the shower and I loved having a separate toilet. I got a nice welcome card and gift in the room upon arrival which was lovely as a platinum member. It was great having the rooftop bar, a restaurant downstairs and also what seemed to be a speakeasy bar in the basement called Mr Mills. Had a beautiful cocktail there. On overall great trip at the Hyde!
