"Perched on the 88th floor with floor-to-ceiling windows and 360-degree views over Port Phillip Bay, Albert Park Lake and the Dandenong Ranges, the skydeck also offers The Edge, a glass cube experience suspended almost 980 feet above the ground for thrill-seekers." - Keira Alexander Keira Alexander Keira Alexander is an Australian journalist based between Melbourne and New York City. It was an amazing experience. You’re able to see the entire city and see a lot of Melbourne from the Sky Deck. Amazing and beautiful view and you can take lots of pictures, the glass is cleaned regularly it was very clear to see, restrooms are available at the top and a bar with food and drinks. Dont forget to take a souvenir from the machine before you go down. I do recommend paying $25 for the Edge View, i didn’t take it and i do regret it, the view and pictures from there are so beautiful. Book tickets in advance as the line can get pretty long, especially in holiday seasons and weekends. The best time to go up there are directly at opening time at 12pm or close to sunset 7-9pm, they close at 10 so you have very flexible hours and seeing the sunset from up there is not something you want to miss out on.

Google
The tour starts in the Voyager theater where they put you through a virtual trip around Melbourne. This was great because we asked for the list of places they showed us and we had time to visit some. Then you go up and enjoy the view which is pretty great. They also have a small terrace where you can go out and feel the wind - but of course is caged. Another experience was the cube (don’t remember if has a specific name) where they take you out in a glass room and the floor of course is glass too and you admire the view (or cover your eyes😂). There the only way photos are taken by the staff. The sky deck is a must see in the city - the view really worth the visit.

Google
Great view of the City and surrounding areas of Melbourne. Sometimes they have special on weekdays. Which you can get an ultimate experience, 2 people for only $60. Booking online is better because of discount and specials offered.

Google
Our visit to Melbourne Skydeck was a truly memorable experience. It’s one of the best spots in the city to enjoy a panoramic view of Melbourne from high above. The observation deck gives a 360-degree view, allowing you to take in the skyline, river, and iconic landmarks all at once. Watching the sunset from the top was magical — the colors in the sky changed beautifully, making it perfect for photos. Many people also recommend the sunrise view for a peaceful start to the day. The place is very family-friendly, and our kids were excited to spot famous buildings and watch the trams below. The interactive displays made the experience more fun for them. We tried some food and drinks from the café; although the prices were a bit expensive, we really enjoyed the mocktails, which were refreshing and tasty. If you’re visiting Melbourne, this is a must-see attraction — especially for first-time visitors who want to see the city from above. A short visit can give you a great glimpse of the entire city. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience for both kids and adults.

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Eureka Skydeck – Incredible Views of Melbourne! A fantastic experience and definitely one of the best viewpoints in Melbourne. The 360° views are stunning — you can see the entire city, the coastline, and all the way out to the mountains on a clear day. The space is well-organised, staff are friendly, and everything feels safe and smooth. The Edge Experience adds a fun little thrill if you like something extra! Great for families, couples, or anyone visiting Melbourne. Highly recommend going around sunset for those magic colours over the skyline. 🌇✨

Google
A truly unique experience with absolutely stunning views from above. The 88th floor offers breathtaking panoramas of Melbourne, showcasing the city in all its beauty. Enjoying a drink or two at the bar makes the moment even more memorable.

Murali S.

Google
Melbourne Skydeck is an excellent attraction worth a visit. You get to see the entire city and some of the famous landmarks such as MCG, Rod Laver Stadium and Albert Park. The sun set on a clear day is spectacular. The Edge Box is a wonderful experience where you stand on glass bottom.

Google
Eureka 89 - At sunset the view is amazing. It offers a 360 experience of the city. The most advantageous is the family package, I chose the family package 2 adults, 1 child. The elevator goes up to the 88th floor. Visited December 2025

Yelp
The sky cleared enough for us to walk here and get outstanding views of the city. Adult tickets are about $43 and allow you to ride the elevator to the 88th floor and walk around to 360 degree views of the city. We found sitting spots in every direction so that we could relax and enjoy the view. I thought it was cool to see an aerial view of where they play the Australian Tennis Open. Don't forget to step outside. There is a free gated area so you can experience the wind and chill of the air so far up. We grabbed a drink and sat and chatted and probably spent about an hour up there. Good stop.

Yelp
(Visited 12/16/24 MO @ 1:00pm): This was a last-second decision to go to the top deck to see Melbourne's skyline! A friend and I were on Day 3 of our 12-Day Southern Australia Explorer cruise with Princess Cruises, we took the local train into town, and after a drink at nearby Pure South Dining, we opted to visit the very touristy Melbourne Skydeck. Coincidently, we noticed a long queue of passengers from our cruise ship, Crown Princess, so we decided to buy tickets and waited for the next tour group. Basically, this tall building (89 floors!) offered you breathtaking 360-degree skyline city views https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=s5Gu1sIBUYBGzi_RdCs1IA in addition to a penthouse restaurant (Eureka 89). We were only interested in the unique bird's eye views https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=n8aVoLW964TxAZmEsiGgjQ to pass the time, so upwards and onwards we went! We were taken aback by the top-deck sky-high views of Melbourne below!? PURCHASE General Admission Adult ($29.00AUD x2): This ticket granted you the fastest lifts in the southern hemisphere that took you up to level 88 which included access to Bar 88 as well as a concession stand. Of course, the main draw for us were the views from a different perspective... which didn't disappoint https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=MLmoykTMjwPtDM2slqo0TQ as we walked around the "top" and took a ton of pictures. We even saw Crown Princess https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=_ix0HNm4UPDS7iB9gMtjXQ far in the distance! Frankly, it was pretty cool! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=yaNt0uIcDc6y7b00B99ycA Credit Card Fee ($0.84AUD): I was fine with this which amounted to 3.00%. SERVICE We simply walked up to the ticket counter where we were greeted by a friendly young woman behind the ticket counter, we purchased our tickets, and then walked around to the queue for the next tour group. Once we arrived at our destination, we were left on our own to explore at our own pace. Although we didn't purchase anything at the concession stand at the top nor the merchandise shop https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=oBgRs9NpxAJzAA7m7t2QYQ at the bottom, the staff appeared very attentive and helpful - thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) There was paid basement parking within the nearby Southgate Centre. There also appeared to be a decent amount of parking on all surrounding streets (please note any posted signs), onsite parking at the nearby Federation Square, and of course the wonderful public transportation such as the tram system which we conveniently took and then walked the rest of the way - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located within a tall business building a few minutes' walk from the Southgate Business Centre, you entered into a spacious lobby where you purchased your tickets. Then, you were led into a waiting area for the elevator where numerous displays such as a relief city map https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=d8xBeYu3mYdjvNW6NgVYyg and comparable height maps https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=oOq7KRdwJHMgRCAHmC-IkA of various tall structures around the world for your pleasure. Once inside the elevator, it felt like you were shot up in a rocket! A ton of natural lighting entered through the wall glass windows while I didn't notice any electric ceiling lights. There were no TVs nor any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=UxKGn1-iPOGHCfLpx6Raaw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL As touristy as Melbourne Skydeck was, I felt there still was a cool factor. However, this was probably a one-and-done for me unless I traveled with someone who hadn't done this before. The views were awesome, you could've easily just hung out without a time limit, there were other experiences (e.g. Voyage Theatre, Edge, Eureka 89) for an additional cost, the price seemed very reasonable, and the service was straightforward. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $59.00AUD / $38.00USD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Yelp
Fun experience! You go up in an elevator (or lift as they call it here) 88 floors to see gorgeous views of Melbourne. You can spend as much time as you'd like walking around and taking pictures from different views and angles. There's also a small outside deck area that you can also take pictures. It's covered and there is a fence. Don't be scared! I paid for the "Edge" experience. It's a "ride" in a glass box where it goes out about 10 feet in the air making you above the city. It was $14 AUD which is about $10 USD. It wasn't worth it at all. You are in the ride for about 5 minutes..maybe less. You can't take your own pictures and the window in front is frosted. The worker said we couldn't see out of it because it was "foggy" outside but if that was the case we wouldn't have been able to see outside of any window within the entire observation deck. When the ride is over, they take pictures of you with their own camera and then if you want it it's an additional fee. Overall, the deck is a great experience for gorgeous views!

Yelp
Nice views. There was a Long waiting line of 1 hour. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
We appreciated the awe inspiring views of Melbourne from the observation deck of the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere. Located at Level 88, Eureka Skydeck is Melbourne's attraction. Skydeck 88 is the only observation deck in the world that has the Edge - a glass cube which projects 3 meters out from the building, with us in it. They were extra fees to go into the cube, to watch the movie and also to participate in their virtual reality experience. They were clean restrooms at a snack bar.

Robin M.

Yelp
This is a great skydeck for the perfect view of Melbourne, Australia. The building itself is worth the visit, even from the outside.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
It is exactly like every other skydeck in every other major city. But I have to say, looking at Melbourne from this view is unforgettable and I don't regret paying the money to do it. There is a small outdoor area where you can take photos without glare. They also have a green screen section to take your souvenir photo as if you're hanging off the edge. The price is reasonable and I've seen the photographer very patient with the clients, taking as many photos as they wanted. Going during sunset hour is the best time.
google avatar

Rita C.

Yelp
Good view, landmarks have a small magnifying lens to point them out, gives a good perspective of the city and has a few other cities/landmarks marked on the glass "The edge" experience requires an additional ticket and they also have the Australian favourite "we'll take your picture and put it in a book on the building for you to buy" Better wear black, if you want to take photos, reflection from the window is a killer!
google avatar

Deana M.

Yelp
My cousin and I got the "Sun & Stars" package which allowed us to come back twice in a day (one in the daytime and one in the night time). You get a 360 degree view of Melbourne from the Yarra River to the Rod Laver Arena. You can stay as long as you like and they offer free wifi. They also have various viewfinders positioned all over the floor to pinpoint key landmarks. The entrance fee is pricey (we paid $22 each) but you can't beat the view. It's certainly best view you'll get of the city.

Yelp
If this had been the first big skyscraper I had gone up, I think it would have been much more epic. Even so, I went on a fabulously sunny day in Melbourne and the view was spectacular! Having just gone to the Willis Tower in Chicago 6 months earlier, the height wasn't as impressive, but it was still a totally awesome way to see Melbourne from above. They have an additional "ride" at the top called the Edge, which is essentially a frosted glass box you get in with a few other people that protrudes out from the side of the building. Once it has gone all the way out, there is dramatic music and the glass clears, revealing the ground a spectacular distance below. It costs extra to do it, although I got my ticket with a different package so I did it for free. I don't think I woud have paid separately for it, but it was cool nonetheless. If you like skyscrapers and want a great view of Melbourne, a visit to the Eureka Skydeck is definitely worth it!
google avatar

Eric T.

Yelp
A must do while in Melbourne. Level 88 gives a great 360 degree perspective of Melbourne. The 'Edge' at an extra charge is great fun and a bit scary. If you're going - make sure you get a discount coupon from one of the many City of Melbourne's tourism brochures.

Yelp
Having already visited the Rialto Towers 10 years ago, I decided to get a new glimpse of Melbourne from the Eureka Skydeck during my most recent trip. Although it's an interesting experience and something every tourist in any major city usually ends up doing, Eureka Skydeck has a fair amount of downsides that make it less favorable to the Rialto Towers. Pros: - It's one of the highest, if not the highest, publicly accessible points in Melbourne, which allows you to get a spectacular view of the city towering above all the buildings. - The telescopes may be limited, but they're all free to enjoy. - There's a coin elongation machine, which is a rarity in this part of the world. For collectors like me, that's definitely something that made me giddy. - Instead of showing where all the points of interest are on a map or diagram, they have "peepholes" that you can look through to see exactly where each attraction is. Pretty cool for those of us who are navigationally challenged. See my picture for reference. Cons: - $18.50 for entrance. To go to a simple observation deck. I understand paying that much for the world famous Empire State Building, Taipei 101, or the Burj Khalifa. But this is just the Eureka Skydeck. It's not THAT impressive to be worth that much. - $12 more just to stand on "The Edge." Sure you're suspended 300 meters above the ground, but it really doesn't look like anything too special. This can easily be skipped, but to each his own. - The windows reflect like crazy. It's almost impossible to get a decent photo of the skyline without getting a bunch of reflections in it. Forget about doing a panorama because it'll just look messy. Your average tourist these days takes a lot of photos, but I guess they never took that into consideration. Like a previous review said, Melbourne a much better view from the ground than from a viewing platform.

Yelp
If there's a list of "must-dos" for Melbourne, then the Eureka Tower "Skydeck" is definitely on the list. It is a unique experience, one that offers an amazing perspective of Melbourne (and beyond - as far as the eye can see), day or night. High above 88 floors, one can spend hours here just gazing, taking pictures, relaxing and wonder at the world below you. Its $20 for a day ticket, but it is worthwhile paying the extra $2 ($22), to also have access in the evening. You won't be disappointed. The Eureka Tower opens from 10am - 10pm, and if you are coming back in the evening, by about 8pm (in the summer), it's usually already packed with tourists. I liked the fact that as I wandered around, I could hear different languages, like I was some time traveller teleporting to different parts of the world in an instant. The Skydeck, offers 360 degree floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of Melbourne and beyond, and as you move around the room, there are landmark "viewfinders" that tell you exactly what you are seeing. Although the fun is also working it out for yourself. "Oh, look, that's Fed Square!". Taking the elevator to the top of Eureka Tower and coming down is a bit of a novelty. It only takes 30 seconds to get to the 88th floor! If you are brave enough, there's also the Terrace area (no glass), just mesh, and strong winds, to hold you back, from taking some amazing pictures without the reflective glare. The challenge is trying to get your DSLR lens through the mesh, just enough, so you can capture that awe-inspiring image. You don't need to worry about feeling sick either, as there are bathroom facilities in case you get nauseous. The skydeck kiosk will keep you fuelled, with food and drinks on offer, and when you are totally ready to head back down to earth, you can stop by the Skydeck shop to purchase any merchandise and be a legit tourist. The staff at Eureka Tower were very friendly and helpful. Great experience all round.

Yelp
What a great way to see Melbourne from a whole new level! Going up the elevator (which climbs 9 meters per second up the 88 story tower) a voice over comes on calmly advising you that the swaying you may be experiencing is perfectly normal and that the whole tower sways as a part of its design. Don't worry by the time you reach the top you can't feel it sway anymore Once you reach the summit you are met with a 360° view of melbourne and can wander as quick (or as slow) around the tower to get a birds eye view of the aquarium, the yarra river, etihad stadium...you get to see pretty much all of melbourne from an amazing view point. Oh and if you want time to sit back and enjoy a bevvy, no problems! In the tower they serve food and drinks and have a few small tables overlooking the view. On the windows they have arrows pointing toward unseen destinations with the distance in kilometres which made it even more interesting for me. If you're brave you might want to walk out on to the deck, which is a viewing platform that extends from Eureka with a glass floor (an additional $12 that you pay when you reach the top of you decide that's what you want to do). It's a great way to see Melbourne of you're stopping by.
google avatar

Mel T.

Yelp
I know the views are different, but if you've ever been to the Sydney Tower Eye, the Eureka Skydeck view is so much better than that. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the weather and the time of day you go too, but the Melbourne skyline just seemed a lot more vibrant. It was bluer. There's also a small balcony type thing where you get to go outside (no extra fee either!). Tickets for just the Skydeck are $19.50. But see if your hotel has coupons - we were able to nab one and ended up paying about $17.50. Sure, it was only a $2 discount but that's better than nothing right? I would definitely recommend going here if you're ever in Melbourne!

Yelp
A great establishment for tourists and locals alike. Especially if landmarks such as Sydney's Centrepoint Tower and Melbourne 360 resonate with you. If you are someone who isn't too afraid of heights; or you appreciate this great city called Melbourne; you will love catching a glimpse of all of Melbourne, a full 360 degree view. Not too sure if Melbourne 360 at the Rialto is still open as it wasn't advertised anywhere. This could explain the abundance of crowds lining up to explore and see Melbourne at the highest vantage point possible. Also the end of the school holidays a couple of days ago as of writing this could also explain the long wait times. Patience is a virtue; and it is worth it; especially looking up at the terrace and just being an observer and looking at Melbourne so high up. The 30 views finders to look at key Melbourne landmarks was a smart experience which added greatly to my time here. The view of Port Phillip bay was striking, and not to mention just breathtaking overall. A great children friendly experience. Might be worthwhile taking my nieces up here when they come down to Melbourne at Christmas time; although I have seen better elsewhere outside of Melbourne.

Yelp
I have been to the burj, tower of Americas, Empire State, and the space needle. I have to say the moving glass view is a cool addition I must say. You get a great view of the CBD, The water, and a great way to know parts of town from the sky. I like it - better than the view I have now!!
google avatar

Yelp
It was my last night in melbourne and i decided to brave my fear of heights and watch the sunset from Melbournes tallest building and i was not dissapointed. I was lucky to have a discount voucher that i found in one of the tourist magazines. Once up at the top i was free to wander around and see all of the city from inside and outside the viewing platform. I wasnt brave enough to try the glass floor skydeck tho! I found a comfy couch and spent a wee hr or so watching the beautiful sunset and contemplating my amazing 2 weeks in Oz. Definetly a must see when in melbourne!
google avatar

Jenny B.

Yelp
If you are in Melbourne, you must stop by the Eureka Skydeck! It actually took me quite sometime to find this place because I kept walking around the building. If you are a student, there's a student discount and I also found a 10% coupon in the Melbourne guide from the airport, so the ticket came out to be only $15. The elevator ride to the top was very cool - you go up 88 stories in a mere 30 seconds! The view is AMAZING. You can walk around the entire floor and get a complete 360 view of Melbourne from a single spot. There's also a little cafe at the top so you can get some coffee, ice cream, or snacks as you sit and enjoy the view!
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
Totally worth it. The view is mesmerizing! My girlfriend and I spent almost an hour up there, gazing out over the city from different angles, watching the cars and people, and getting our fill of wind at that height on the outside platform. Would absolutely check this place out again!

Clarissa Y.

Yelp
My friend and I @ 9 PM: *At Federation Square looking up at the city skyline* Me: *Points at Eureka Tower* I'm trying to imagine the building's construction right now. It's just so amazing how so many people come together for one common goal of creating something like that. My Friend: Yeah it'd be great to see the city from up there. Me: ...You wanna go? My Friend: Let's go. And so there we went, no Google Maps just walking towards the building and hope we don't come across any obstacles that block our way. The standard price is 17.50 for a visit (adult) and you get led to a lift that takes you up 88 stories... oh boy. But the view was absolutely breathtaking. I don't recommend going up just for the sake of "Ooo pretty lights", but actually sit there and think about people as a whole and how the (approximately) million+ people down below are going about their daily lives completely unaware of the entirety of everything. But enough with my philosophical Buddhist rant. The point is, it was inspiring. There's another section that leads you to a caged deck without the windows (it can get a bit cold though obviously) and you pay an extra 12.50 if you want to go to "The Edge" which is a separate glass bottom box you can spend some time in. I didn't do that because I thought 12.50 to go one meter more for a limited amount of time was a bit ridiculous, but I'm sure it would've been quite an experience (funnily enough I saw 2 guys plank on The Edge). NOTES: ~ It's okay if you're scared of heights! I am too, but you sort of get used to it after a while. But now is the time to break out of your comfort zone and experience new things! ~ There's not much to eat there that is inexpensive so eat beforehand! They do have a snack bar, but it's insanely expensive in comparison to what it's worth (a candy bar). Ways they can improve: ~ Maybe having some cheaper eateries in the bottom levels? ~ Turn off some of the lights! When you're viewing the cityscape from the window, the lights cause a reflection and you just end up seeing yourself rather than focusing on the city. Okay for a vain person but I want to see the view! Overall, I absolutely loved it. But the management itself could use a bit of work with the pricey-ness.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
One of the more "touristy" things I did while I was in Melbourne, but I have to say I'm so glad I did it! It is the only place you will get amazing views of the skyline and the cityscape of Melbourne. Well worth the ticket prices. If you're a photographer I would highly suggest going up the Eureka!
google avatar

Kenson K.

Yelp
I finally got to come up here. The last time I was in Melbourne it was overcast and the front desk said that it wasn't a good viewing day. This time it was clear skies. Sweeping panoramic views of Melbourne will greet you at the top. It's a bit of a tourist trap but very nice views of the entire city. The Edge experience looked a bit lame for what you pay for. Essentially you get into a glass box. You can actually go outside on a deck of the tower for free. We opted for that instead.
google avatar

Lou H.

Yelp
One of the many touristy things to do in this city, the Eureka Skydeck is a cool place to check out while you are in town. I felt that I had to do it so that I could add it to my list with the Sears Tower/Space Needle/Empire State Building list, and 17.50 isn't that much to spend on something that you probably won't ever do again. You get excellent views of the city and its surrounding areas, especially on a clear day. I love this kind of thing because you can see where you have been walking around all day and it puts everything into perspective. It's kind of like how I like to look at Google Earth after I have visited new places. There is also a very good Australian gift shop at the end of the tour. I bought a few postcards (they'll sell you the necessary stamps, too) and a cool stuffed boxing kangaroo to bring back home. The plush kangaroo was really cheap, too, like $12. I was stunned, thought it would be $20+. You can also access the store from the outside, you don't have to go on the tour to the top to get into the store if you don't want to/have the time......

Yelp
Okay, sometimes I'm a tourist! And I'm good at it. Even tho I have been to Melbourne before I wanted to do some touristy stuff. This was super cool. The tallest building in Melbourne, you can take an elevator to the top and see clear, amazing, and beautiful views of the city. My native Aussie and very - afraid - of - heights friend came with. She didn't tell me she was afraid of heights until we were moving toward the elevator. Not my fault... It's worth going up to be able to see what the city looks like and it's layout. Melbourne is still one of my fave cities. It is so beautiful. Got some great pictures. You can see where different things are in the city and orient yourself for while you are driving around. Service fast, the place was clean, lots of photo opportunities, and worth the trip! P.S. my friend survived. But she wasn't happy about it.

Yelp
If you are staying in Melbourne and wondering what to do, I would head to Skydeck first. It will give you an incredible perspective on the city, as well as some great ideas on where to go and what to do. That said, the experience in and of itself was more than worth it. For $22, there isn't much you can do in Australia. I found this to be an incredible value. I went in the daytime and returned at night. The night-time experience was almost surreal. It was a stunning way to enjoy this magnificent jewel of a city. I didn't do the 'Edge' experience, I thought it unnecessary and a bit silly. I don't know that I'd do it more than once, but if you're in Melbourne, it's a must in my mind.

Yelp
We went to the Eureka Skydeck on a Saturday night after dinner. It was my first time and I'd heard from friends who'd been before that it's alright. There nothing great or wow about it and, per their own words, it's something that you'd do once and that'll be it. Well, they were right. It's alright, don't get me wrong - quite beautiful actually especially at night when you're high up there and admiring CBD, Olympic Park, South Melbourne, Southbank etc. It's a great experience for those visiting Melbourne for the first time and they'll love it. Kids also love it so you get a lot of families hanging out there as well. An adult ticket cost about $19 and you have to try the Edge as well where you pretty much stand in a transparent glass cube that projects about 3 metres from the building - those scared of heights can be sure to have a ride for their money.

Yelp
You know what it's like when you first get to a new city and you have absolutely no idea where things are in relation to each other? Like in London when you travel everywhere on the tube only to realise you could walk there faster some of the time. Well that's what the Skydeck is good for. The view is fantastic and unlike the London Eye you don't have to contend with foggy glass and hazy skies from all the pollution. There are a number of good landmarks to know in Melbourne and seeing the distance between them is handy for getting a grip on this great city. Things like walking to the MCG from town, or how far St. KIlda really is from the city (not that far if you get a good run of traffic). It's a little pricey to get up here if you're paying for a family or anybody else. I went during the day though but quite often there are some beautiful sunsets across the city skyline so I'd recommend coming around dusk when the city lights are on to get the full benefit of the view.

Yelp
Views are, as you'd imagine, to die for. The edge ride.... Well to be honest a bit of a fizzer. Glass very frosted so the glass floor is not the crystal clear butt clenching view you are expecting.

Yelp
very friendly staff! the view was extraordinary the little shop at the top and "Australia's highest postbox " was genius! this is a must wen you visit Melbourne!

Yelp
Save your money! What a letdown... Sure, the view is nice but come on. We paid in advance for a picture on the edge and it was just stupid. You can see the other people in the pic. Waste of money. We did have fun with the green screen. Would not recommend.

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical at the $19.95 (adult) ticket price -- an additional $12 if you want to do the "Edge" (a glass "box" that you stand in to give you that feeling of "floating" 88 levels up; no cameras allowed), where they'll take a picture of you that may be purchased for $12+ at the photo kiosk! -- but we decided to do it anyway since we had a friend visiting. As it turned out, the Eureka Skydeck gives a fantastic new perspective on the sprawl that is Melbourne. It was quite fascinating to observe the city from up so high. Fortunately, you're allowed to take photographs in all the other parts of the Skydeck. The reflections off the glass can be a bit difficult, but we figured out how best to avoid those flares. The floors have creative digital message scrolls that point one way or another (and even criss-cross) to indicate compass-point directions, as well as natural and/or architectural landmarks in the distance. There's even a small, security-wired outdoor deck (which you enter through a secured "foyer" to avoid wind suction) that provides some fresh-air space with more picture ops. Overall, it was well-worth the 20-bucks, and my initial skepticism was laid to rest when I stepped out of the elevator into the Eureka Skydeck.... RIP skepticism.... :)

Yelp
The Eureka Skydeck is the tallest apartment building in the world (although Brisbane's is the official one because their spire is counted - but really shouldn't be!) It's 300 storeys high and 92 storeys tall, and floor 88 is where you can visit to get 360 degree views of Melbourne, the penninsula and the Dandenongs. It also has a glass cube called The Edge that protracts 3 metres out of the building, of course you can get a photo of this scary experience (for those with a fear of heights like myself, they suggest it isn't a good idea - no duh!) You can walk outside to the terrace or listen to the sounds and sights of Melbourne below. It does cost to go up the tower, with an extra charge for The Edge, so it really is a one-off experience.

Yelp
Definitely worth the ride up - the views are spectacular at sunset - the sky deck is located in walking proximity from the Crown casino. The deck also has a glass floor lookout, which is worth checking out. You can buy postcards and mail it from right there - to get the eureka sky deck postmark.

Yelp
Very happy to stay on the deck and see the beautiful view. Can see whole Melbourne. Amazing!

Yelp
AWESOME! One of the best views of the city I've ever seen! I love how depending on what section you're looking out at you hear the sounds of the city being played around you (dings from the trams, hustle and bustle of the shoppers, etc).

Yelp
Enjoyed a bird's eye view of the city and its icons. Paying extra to go into the glass cube was not worth the additional charge.

Yelp
I spent about 3 hours here, partly because I had that much time to kill, and I wanted to stay for the sunset. Even though I had an electronic voucher on my phone from purchasing through TripAdvisor, they only accept printed vouchers, so I had to email them the voucher and have them look up my order. After that 10 minute delay, it was up in the elevator to see the incredible views. There are snacks and beverages for purchase, and areas to sit and take it all in. Downside to taking photos - the reflection of the glass grabs people standing near/behind you, but if you're patient and creative, you can get around it to get great pictures. Skipped the "edge" experience as it didn't seem worthwhile. If you like a good view, this is the place to be!

Yelp
I have been to the top of the Empire State building, the CN tower and the Eiffel Tower and all are gorgeous views. WHat makes the Eureka tower interesting is the Edge Experience. You are basically in a "see through" room and they project you out over the city. Then they defrost the windows once the room is pushed "out" 88 stories above Melbourne. It is fun to watch the group as they gasp and get excited. Get a "silly" photo taken and purchase it. Lots of fun to experience with a friend. My friend and I saw all the sports complexes and the city, the Yarra river and all of Melbourne. It is absolutely a unique experience and the only place in the world to date to take you "over the edge!"

Yelp
Beautiful scene from the skydeck, not worth paying the extra money for the Edge ride though. I would try to go at night to get a more unique view and if you do decide to go on the Edge, give your camera to a friend and have them stand in the outside observation deck so they can take your photo. They don't allow you to bring cameras in and they charge like $15 for a photo of you.

Yelp
Got the day and night pass to get the view at both times. Pretty expensive, but is a good view. Due to the reflection in the glass (both day and night) pictures are pretty difficult to get unless you have the lens up to the glass. Even then it can be difficult. The additional cash they charge to go on the moving platform is a waste of money.

Yelp
The views are incredible. My only issue is that there is no real security. No one checks bags nor require you to go through a metal detector, with the state of security in the world I would think this would be a target. I felt so uncomfortable I actually only stayed up there for just a few minutes...

Yelp
Love it so much! It was fun as and really shows the grand scale of the city of Melbourne! :)

Yelp
Amazing views of Melbourne from the Skydeck. It really helps visitors to put the city in perspective and distance between landmarks.

Yelp
Great view of the city and a quick 38second ride to the 88th floor. There is also a very windy viewing deck. Friendly staff!

Yelp
Great views of the city. Go early if you want to walk out on the glass floor option. You'll pay another $12 for this option which is popular.

Yelp
This was a great place to come to in your free time and if you are new to the city. It dies cost a little for adults but you will have a great time. The area introduces you with a basically 360 view of Melbourne city
