I didn't have any problems during my visit, The views from the top was lovely, the breakfast buffet on the 24th had Dual sided views of both the Sea and City. The bed was super duper Comfy. I really enjoyed jumping into bed and nice night of peaceful sleep. We had access to the Level lounge on the 25th for Snacks and drinks which was very nice too.

We were lucky with sunny warm weather in early October. We chose a sea view room on The Level. Room 2311. Great view and excellent comfy bed. Bathroom was slightly tight, but had twin wash hand basins (bonus), bad shower temperature control (all over the place). Soft drinks in the fridge appeared to be chargeable which is a bit silly. The Level had a breakfast area on floor 24 - a wonderful spot with a view. Breakfast choice was reasonable and there was a nice option of sparklingly wine to make a mimosa. The LEvel on floor 25 had a great selection of tapas, and self pour drinks (including hard stuff). I had a few hours by the pool which is shallow and “refreshing’ but usable. We paid €534 for two night inclusive of breakfast and use of the Level. Good value. Staff all wonderful so generally would recommend it. In addition, the local beach is only a short 10 minute walk.

This may have been my favorite hotel stay ever! The hotel is beautiful and the staff is great. Antoniono, who checked us in, is born for this job, he was amazing. Victor and Elizabeth who worked the breakfast on the 24th floor were always friendly and helpful and this breakfast was amazing with seating with an ocean view. Tran and metro close to the hotel and lots of bakeries and coffee shops. My the metro card for Barcelona and book your room here. We absolutely loved our stay, the staff and the neighborhood. The room was clean and the view was awesome too. Thank you for a great stay!!

It was a milestone birthday for me this September and we wanted a special hotel to stay in for our tip to Barcelona that wasn’t going to break the bank. As I had the Melia app, I requested a birthday upgrade when I booked, but unfortunately hadn’t been actioned when we arrived for check in. Luckily, Laressa on the Level Lounge reception came to the rescue, she is an absolute star and the hotel needs to keep hold of her! She noted the request and immediately upgraded us and even arranged for a birthday cake and hand written note to be placed in the room by the time we’d checked in! She has a good sense of humour and a really friendly demeanour (as did all of the staff), which really made us feel welcome during our stay. She was a pleasure to chat too also. ||We didn’t get time to use the pool but we did squeeze in a 30 minute spa circuit which was included in the Level booking, which was well worth it. The hotel has good transport links for trams, buses and metro and Poblé Nou nearby has plenty of choice for cafes and restaurants for lunch. It’s a 15 minute walk to the beach and also pretty close to a large shopping centre that includes stores like C&A and Carrefour. ||The sky bar is where all of the hotel has access to for breakfast and the views are amazing…as was the breakfast food (although the serving area is perhaps a bit small, which is especially noticeable when it’s busy). ||I would recommend the hotel and if you want to make it extra special, the Level Lounge is well worth it.

The hotel is more or less a giant block of metal. the hallways are dark and claustrophobic - it could be a prison. . The bathroom had a shower so small you could just about turn around without hitting yourself on the wall. Water managed to leak out of the shower onto the floor every time - no matter how hard you tried to prevent splashing or overflows. There was one giant window in the room, with the rest of the walls hidden behind a single, never-ending blind. One good thing about the room was the view, we had a sea-facing room, which almost made up for everything else. Surprisingly, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and great for sleeping. The food was mediocre. The breakfast buffet had a lot of meat, but that was expected. Due to language barriers, the waiters couldn't get orders correct most of the time. However, the separately paid lunch and dinner menus were surprisingly good, and the portion sizes were very generous. The staff were genuinely lovely—warm, helpful, and full of advice on local transport, even providing tour bus leaflets. Their friendliness was a refreshing contrast to the cold metal aesthetic.

My partner & I stayed at this beautiful hotel this summer, this was our 3rd time back at Meliá. We had a fabulous welcome from Federico at the front desk who was more than helpful & managed to give us a great discount on an upgrade on the Level ( highly recommend booking this ). The breakfast was incredible, being greeted by Viktor and then the most incredible team of staff , Eli making us coffees every morning ( often we didn’t even have to ask, she was already on it!) and Hatchi working in the kitchen making the most incredible omelettes or whatever you fancied. |A great selection of food served daily in the Level, well worth paying extra. Antonio was fabulous in helping us sort our out transfer details, he couldn’t do enough! |Meliá is an incredible hotel because of the staff. They make it! The location is superb, so close to the beach and a short metro ride into the city. Highly recommend Poblenou for food and drinks. Overall, another great stay at Meliá. Will we be back a 4th time? You bet! Thanks everyone at Meliá , David & Linda xx

My girlfriend and I used the spa services on the 5th floor and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We booked in for couples deep tissue massages and we were both so impressed that we just had to book again. On both occasions our massages were delivered to a very high standard. After our massages we just enjoyed sitting in the comfy sofa chairs drinking water from the chilled dispenser. I honestly wish this spa and their treatments were in the UK because we would definitely be booking regularly. Thank you spa team for a beneficial and unforgettable experience 💯

Nice hotel! Everything was very clean and well taken care of. Breakfast was incredible! Only complaint was the upgrade pricing seemed a little on the high side for what you got, but not a dealbreaker. Would stay here again!

Yelp
All glitz and no glam. This is portrayed as a really nice hotel with the sky tower; and I guess the tower is cool and the view is generally neat from a higher room. The room was OK and on the first night I was at-least moderately satisfied for what I had paid. On my second day I come back to the room later in the afternoon after sight seeing to find the room extremely hot; turns out the A/C had broken and fridge was leaking. The hotel is completely packed with staff, almost uncomfortably so, you can barely get a buffet item or get into the elevator without dodging and weaving thru their staff all dressed in suits. There is even a guy with a suit on that hovers by the hotel entrance. The front-desk had many of them as well. Turns out their all for show and nothing else. I call twice about my issues to the front-desk from my hotel room. Both quickly someones says they'll "send someone up". Waiting twice; the first time almost 40-mins and no one ever showed up. When I called again, I had a different person who I had to describe the issue with again. Imagine wasting all this time and stress on your limited PTO. Finally, now it's night; tired of waiting I go down to the front-desk. No one recollects my calls, I describe the issues again and they offer to move me. What happened to the technician coming to my room to fix it? No one knows, I have to go pack everything and move at almost midnight now. The new room is the absolute worst in the Hotel, the room absolutely REEKS of cigarette smoke; there is no way they didn't know there is issues with this room. Could barely breathe the smell was so bad. They found the absolute worst, defective, no-sale room and offered to move me to this one, of course. On top of this; there was a loud party going on in the neighboring room, the walls were shaking. Desperate to just get some sleep at this point I move back to the hot stuffy room; hoping by now since it's night it will have cooled a bit. There is no windows in these rooms and no ventilation. At check-out; the young girl in a suit with poor english only offers to comp me 1 beer from the min-bar because of my issues. Claiming they did their duty "trying to move me to a new room". Just absolutely ridiculous. Moral of the story: Melia Sky Barcelona is all marketing. And all of the staff are there to upsell massages and food and services; nothing more. Not to help you. If something goes wrong they do not care nor will provide services to help. This is NOT a 4-star hotel. The pool is small, and the ground-floor breakfast is weak; with cheese trays and machine coffee.

Yelp
Very welcoming folks in the lobby, they are so great! The bearded receptionist who assisted me went above and beyond making sure I knew where to go, how to navigate around that area (I had not been in that particular area of Barcelona for years), how to go walking to the beach, where to eat, on top of informing of all amenities in the hotel itself. The hotel is very modern like most of the Melia I have had the opportunity to be at. I loved the color palette of lavenders, magentas and lilacs, it gives a very upbeat touch and I honestly would have loved to have more than just one night to enjoy all the good things in there. The room was very modern, ultra comfy bed, high end everything. The views of Barcelona skyline are amazing and the best of the best was the amazing breakfast. Only for that I almost killed the memory of my phone after taking so many photos...not only beautiful but abundant, with products from the land (like those delicious fuets and jamon) but also catering to other culture's tastes. Amazing experience. I loved so much, including the restaurant inside the premises, that deserves another review by itself. Very recommended, especially if you a female traveling alone, you will feel very welcome and safe.

Yelp
Booked through a Costco package. At first, I was a little disappointed that this hotel was a bit far from all the touristy spots. But, we quickly adjusted to the public transit and it was actually quite nice that we were a bit away from the crowded areas. The wait to check in was unfortunately really long even though we were the next in line.. once checked in though, everything moved quickly. Our floor hallway design was very interesting. Definitely very modern. I felt like our entrance was too close to our neighbors. Our room had issues with the heater- we were really cold the first night. We called the concierge and they were able to fix it the next morning. The breakfast buffet is absolutely wonderful. Hot food, cold food, drinks.. everything you needed to get a good start to the day.

Yelp
This is a tough one for me. Here for work, for 6 nights, and honestly really enjoyed the hotel with a few items that brought the rating down. It's modern. Rooms were large by European standards. Great shower. Great bed. We were on the 7th floor, room 707. Breakfast each morning was plentiful, although the eggs left something to be desired. Wide open space which doubled as the bar at night. Front desk was very nice and helped along as we were there during all the protests which forced us to change plans on the fly. Level 24 and 25 for drinks and light bites had amazing views. It's not close to all the areas you probably want to go, but it's not far either. We found the subway very easy to use, even if you don't speak the language. It did go south for a few reasons 1) Theft. My wife bought some items on day 1. They were in a brown bag on the room desk. Next day we looked all over for the bag and noticed it was gone. Went to the front desk, and they were all shocked thinking it was a mistake. We went to the bar for a drink, and 30 minutes later they came back with the items that were missing and admitted there could be no misunderstanding (originally thinking it was a bag of garbage left on the desk). One of the items was dirty, and they tried to clean and was not successful. They did reimburse us, but then we had to waste time going back to the merchant who then did not have the exact item. I've never had anything stolen from a hotel room, so obviously this didn't resonate well. 2) We got kicked out of the 24th floor 'Level' floor. We were told we could use it, but then when there said no. Very uncomfortable. No less than 5 minutes after we were in the room after we left, we got a call saying it was a mistake.

Yelp
Worst service I've ever received as a paying customer from a hotel in my life. I usually enjoy staying at the Melia (like Marbella and Madrid), but Barcelona was a special brand of unhelpful staff. I would not recommend. We had used a discount that we had used many times before, but due to an obscure policy change- we were not able to use it. We were not told we could not use it until we arrived at the front desk. We spent more than an hour or two in the front lobby- obviously stressed and worried about what would happen during our stay- and received absolutely no help in doing so. Comparatively- any other hotel manager would have realized that this was somewhat of a predicament and helped us through it, but that was simply not the treatment we received. I sincerely hope the staff at this hotel read this carefully: it is standard practice in your industry to do your best to help customers use the same price they have paid to get a room as similar as possible to the one that they could not have. Instead of just saying no, and leaving us on our own in YOUR lobby to "figure it out". We ended up paying almost 400 euros more to stay in a room that was significantly worse than the one that we would have gotten, because the staff refused to recognize that we needed the money back to book a room at THEIR hotel. I understand the no refund policy, and I understand it well. But if a paying customer is asking to transfer money they have *already spent* at your hotel, to use on a different room- you need a policy that helps clients reorganize their stay. I cannot stress how unhelpful the staff at the front desk were when we were having troubles. This was all on top of the fact that we know for a fact that hotel staff *can* make exceptions when it comes to this kind of discount after the policy change, and we know this for a fact. It was also exceptionally difficult to change the phone number on their rewards member site to be able to transfer some of the points we had paid with. If it weren't for the absolutely friendly service on the phone that we received from (Laura?), I would likely completely write off the Melia in general. While it still took a while, and it was largely inconvenient and totally ruined our entire first day in Barcelona, it was not for a lack of her trying her absolute hardest to help us. Now as for the breakfast. I think the breakfast we had downstairs (not at the Level) was one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel that claims to be a 4 (or 5?) star hotel. The colder food was.. fine. It was scarce and a little stale at times (and the fruit tended to be a little soggy), but it was not the worst. The hot food was a shining example of what NOT to serve to living beings. The eggs were okay- if anything they could have used some seasoning. The sausages were terrible, the potato disks were hit and miss- sometimes soft and fluffy, sometimes hard as frisbees. The vegetables were a sham, and I would feel unfortunate if I were a vegetarian. My parents, once they arrived at the hotel, were staying in a Level room (which we worked extremely hard to get for them), and they had breakfast on the Level. They were treated extremely well from the beginning and breakfast was no exception. When they invited us up to eat with them, we could clearly see the difference in the quality of breakfasts between the upstairs and the downstairs. It was quite obvious that the leftover breakfast from the Level was being sent down to the floor level breakfast (and if it wasn't, I would strongly recommend you investigate why there is such a discrepancy in quality between the two). We were also treated a thousand times better by the staff on the Level (presumably because they thought we were "better" than the room we were actually staying in). The cleaning service was also an issue when it came to timeliness. I'm sure there were more "important" rooms to clean before ours. Please do better. Never coming back to this branch for sure.

Yelp
Perhaps its just me, and I am not bothered about a hotel trying to be posh and swanky,,,but for £192 for two nights I guess I did not know what to expect. Meeting up with friends in Bacelona I came to drop my case off. The first floor contains a large dining area modernly decorated with purple drapes and large chandelier like lights. The doorman called our lift, and we took it to the 28th floor..( I was quite impressed how high this hotel was!) Entering the room I found it odd. While stood at the bathroom sink, or taking a shower, you could look into the bedroom through the large glass window...This is fine if you are a couple, dodgy if you are not. At the foot of the king sized bed lay a 40'' television ( which we never used) and facilities on the side like a nespresso machine, mini bar and a ipod dock. The best part of the room of course was the city view, which i was in awe at first, but the novelty soon wore off when I saw the adjacent building being constructed. My friend guided me to the VIP room , exclusive to members and offered unlimited wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks such as crustless sandwiches, cakes ,nuts and mini salads.. Having not eaten I consumed some salmon tartar, sandwiches and wine..These were okay,..Leaving the VIP room to attend the sky pool I was a little disappointed. It was small and full of posers greased up in sun cream.. In the morning, having being woken up at 8.30am by a cleaning lady who walked in while I was in the buff...we went down to breakfast. This was quite satisfying , Two tanks of freshly squeezed juice, cereal, lots of fresh fruit & yogurt, meats, cheeses, springrolls?? pastries, various types of scramble egg, bacon , sausage , beans and a odd looking soup...So yes spoiled for choice and it was good quality. On check out it was like a meeting with a bank manager, You sit down and discuss the pros and cons. In my friends case that was a cold burger which cost €27 and the construction noise we were woken up to 8.30am within the hotel. The room service burger was refunded and an apology about the noise was provided, and the option to leave our luggage while we mooched about town..this I liked/ Overall if you are the type to not venture out much and stay in your hotel then this is for you..but I guess I rather find somewhere cheaper to essentially sleep in, and use the additional money to spend on travelling about .

Yelp
I stayed here for 3 nights on business. While the hotel is very nice, it is far from the tourist areas such as the Gothic Quarter and Los Ramblas. The rooms are clean and spacious, with updated bathrooms and roomy showers. I slept very well, and the bed was comfortable. However, I requested a Queen/King bed and instead got two single beds pushed together (with individual sheets on each bed, not a single sheet). The rooms have decent views, although one of my two windows was covered by that annoying black mesh described in other reviews. The wifi was very strong and fast enough for Netflix. There were some other negatives about the room: no coffee maker in the room, no iron or board in the room (requested one from housekeeping without trouble), and dim lighting. In addition, I found the fitness centre was terrible - comprising only 2 treadmills, two ellipticals, a bike and a few free weights, it was located in the Spa area. This meant is was extremely hot and humid, without cold water (only room temp bottled water), and with poor wifi in the fitness centre. Service was friendly and decent. They mistakenly charged me for a mini-bar item, but immediately took it off without question. The breakfast buffet was decent, although not outstanding. Overall, this is a nice, clean hotel. It's a good place for business meetings, but not fantastic for tourists. It has its pluses and minuses.

Yelp
This hotel was ridiculous (in a good way)! It would be 5 stars if it were a touch less expensive. Anyway, Let me start with the bad - 1. as a traveler who uses the metro, this hotel wasn't the most convenient- about 3 blocks from the 4 train, but tons of cobblestones (not good with our luggage, ha!) and about 2 blocks from the tram. This may be more of a critique of the Barcelona metro system, but we had to transfer quite a few times to get to many locations in the city. 2. Our room was freeeeezing... and the heat turns off when you take your room key out of the power slot... this is a problem since you want your room key with you while your out all day or night for obvious reasons, but that leaves you coming back to a freezing room, made even colder by all of the hard surfaces. 3. A lot of the amenities were closed for remodel, like the gym. However, they did offer me passes to a local gym if I wanted to go. 4. The hotel was a little out of the way, you had to walk a bit to get to the closest Rambla (Rambla Poblenou)... there weren't many bars or restaurants (that we saw) that were very close by. Ok, now for the good- 1. This hotel is swaaaanky.... really nice lobby, very modern decor, very sleek looking from the outside 2. The bed was soooo comfy - I wanted to buy one. I slept better here than at home! 3. The view.... come on, the views are beautiful. We had a view of the city and it was gorgeous. 4. The breakfast - the breakfast here was legit. They had amazing bread and the tomato topping (like you get at the tapas bar)... mmmmmm so good. They have tortilla espanola, meats, delicious cheeses, bacon, eggs, rich desserts (a delicious chocolate tart mmmm), croissants, fresh fruit, salads (including a tasty chickpea and bell pepper salad), coffee, juice.... anything and everything. I was more than happy to eat here each morning. 5. The customer service- their concierge was helpful and happy to answer all of our questions. So would I stay here again? Yes, but it might not be my first choice.

Yelp
Really contemporary hotel with large rooms in our case. Living, office, bath, w/c & bedroom with fantastic views of the sea. The bar up top is amazing as well. The location is a bit east 1.5 miles from center of town. However we found the finest restaurant just a few blocks away.

Yelp
The service was great ...at first. Their reception was wonderful Miquel was very helpful as we checked in. He was insightful and energetic about the places we should visit. This was my wife and I's honeymoon and when I made the reservations through EXPEDIA.COM I annotated this and asked for specific accommodations that were not met. We arrived at the Jr. Suite and it had lovely views. However, the floors had stains, the glass showers door was duct taped, and when we returned from dinner their was a maintenance man working on our fridge in the dark (the fridge was broken but it startled my wife). We still have two more nights to stay, but we will see how it goes.

Susan R.

Yelp
Avoid this hotel. The hotel is covered in metal (for style?) which leaves it broiling hot with a/c that can't keep up even on a relatively cool day. Staff are kind but the restaurant closes at random times even when the posted hours and front desk staff claim it should be open. The room we first received had not been cleaned. It's like there is no manager. Sheesh.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel situated in a neighborhood of Poblenou. There are several "convenience stores" in the area and some tapas restaurants and a Pharmacy. It's a short walk to the metro which can get you anywhere as well as about 1 mile to the large mall. My comments on the room: Immaculately clean. Housekeeping stops by twice per day and every time we had emptied trash, bed linens straightened etc. Tolietries are Included and are the Loewe brand from Madrid. A bit perfumey and I found the soap to be a bit drying. They also have razor kits for men (and women). Hairdryer is legit and works very well. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. They speak English, Catalan and Spanish. Maybe others but those are the ones we used to interact. My only slight criticism was breakfast. We went at various times and found it to be "meh". The selection is typical and you can gets eggs made anyway you want. The service is only ok and my biggest complaint would be the coffee service. I requested coffee every morning and only twice was served the Nescafé which was hot and delicious with the right amount of foam. However the other times I received room temp coffee with more than half the cup being milk which was also chilled making the coffee even colder. Pastries are standard and jam selection is strawberry or orange marmalade. Overall a great experience and again the staff is more than accommodating and helpful.

Yelp
I love this place! They have service DIALED IN. It's not the most upscale place I have stayed at, but they are hands down one of the best places I have stayed. The people working here aren't just faking customer service. Maybe this place really vets their employees before hiring for personality and people-oriented attitudes, but they are definitely doing something right, whatever that is! It's the only really positive experience I have had in Barcelona (except the beach!)! If you come to Barcelona, beware of over-priced bs and exceptionalism, but stay at the Level.

Yelp
Melia Sky is a trendy design hotel, rooms are neat and views are magnificent (get a room on one of the upper floors!). As I was there for business and the conference I was attending was around the corner location was good for me.. As a tourist though I do not really have an opinion on that front. There is a bar in the lobby which is nice (breakfast is served there as well) and there is also a Michelin star restaurant 'Dos Cielos?' On the 24th floor. (Didn't go there unfortunately..) 1 negative' point: the hallways on the different floors are all metal.. Supposed to be trendy I guess but not really succeeded on that front ;-). Also thought that pricing is fine vs overall experience.

Yelp
Great hotel if you get a good price. The pool area is really nice. Not a big pool but enough, you can buy drinks at the pool bar, but the staff was also chill about bringing your own stuff to the pool area. The view from the rooms is very good if you live high up. The staff was also super polite and helpful. Some people make some comment on the location but I had no problem with this. The area around the hotel is not very exciting, but a 10euro cab ride and your wherever you wanna be in Barcelona.

Yelp
I LOVE this hotel! What a great hotel with amazing people and terrific views. The rooms were great but the best part - the delightful people who work here. I lost my phone in a taxi. Not speaking the language, I asked Tiffany at the concierge desk for help. She went ABOVE and beyond the call of duty, and I had my phone back in a day. And all her colleagues, from those at the front desk to those who hosted the breakfast buffet to those on the 25th floor, were just terrific. I was away from home for a week, and they made me feel right at home.
