Meliá Chiang Mai

Nes at the breakfast restaurant smiley face and very welcoming. All the staff are wonderful and they remove the dirty dishes very promptly. Room is clean. Only thing is the bathroom door is too close to the front door. Every time you open the front door, it hit the bathroom door and make a big dent on the doors. Food is great , ingredients are fresh , bread and waffle are delicious, I like the dill dip with crackers, the expresso is good, can be a little stronger. The bellhops, gate securities are very polite and helpful with our laundry. Great hotel!!! Thank you for serving us and give great service. Want to add the soup noodle is very very good and Fern at that noodle station is very friendly

We had such a lovely stay at Meliá Chiang Mai. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a really warm, authentic feel. We were travelling with our baby daughter, and it turned out to be a perfect hotel for families with young kids. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always greeting us with a smile and going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. You could really feel the genuine hospitality throughout our stay. The location is fantastic and makes it very easy to explore Chiang Mai. We also loved spending time at the pool area, which is a great spot to relax. Breakfast was also truly amazing. There’s a fantastic variety and we really enjoyed the nice Spanish touches that reflect the Meliá heritage. And the highlight for us was definitely the stunning MIA rooftop, such a great vibe and amazing views over the city. A wonderful experience and a hotel we would happily return to. I had dinner at the TGIF Buffet, and there was a great variety of food to choose from. Everything was delicious and well prepared. We also received excellent service from Cataline, Helena, Thalia, Lucas and Noelia. They were incredibly attentive and took great care of us throughout the entire meal. Their warm and thoughtful service truly made our evening special, and I was very happy with the whole experience. Thank you so much for making our dinner so special!!!

This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in! Everything was wonderful. The breakfast was amazing, so many healthy options, catering for all. The staff were so attentive and a credit to the hotel. Special mention to Beam, Guitar, Nes, and Sophia, also the cleaning staff covering floor 8. We would definitely stay here again.

We recently completed another long stay at Meliá Chiang Mai (13 nights, following a 9-night stay in June 2025), and once again, the staff are what make this hotel truly special. A heartfelt thank you to the housekeeping team and room attendants, especially Ms. Jubjang, Ms. Jay, and Ms. Ya, for the beautiful birthday decorations, towel creations, and thoughtful details. It made our room feel incredibly special and created memories we will always remember. Their care and attention throughout our stay were outstanding. Thank you also to Ms. Fay from Guest Services, who was part of the team effort helping coordinate the celebration. North, the concierge, was exceptional — always greeting us warmly, asking about our day, and offering helpful suggestions. Lalita, the Guest Services Manager, was incredibly responsive and played an important role in helping bring the birthday celebration to life on short notice. Lydia in the restaurant was also wonderful — always kind, friendly, and welcoming. Even when we were just passing through, she made a point of saying hello with a warm smile. There were also several other front desk, restaurant, and concierge team members whose names I may be forgetting, but their professionalism and kindness did not go unnoticed. One area of disappointment was the room assignment. We were placed in the lower-rise tower on the sixth floor, which has limited views, compared to the exceptional river and mountain views in the main tower. As returning guests staying for an extended period, this was disappointing. There was also no welcome fruit tray upon arrival, which we had received during our previous stay. We also had difficulty reaching room service by phone on one occasion, and the service at the Sky Lounge was unfortunately not as attentive as what we experienced elsewhere in the hotel. Despite these points, Meliá Chiang Mai remains a beautiful hotel with truly exceptional staff. It is their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care that make the experience so memorable, and we are grateful for our stay and would gladly return again.

This was easily the best hotel of our trip — entirely because of the incredible staff. The rooms are comfortable (though a bit on the smaller side), but what truly makes this place special is the team. We stayed for a week in November with our 10-month-old daughter, and despite some rainy weather, they made sure we had a wonderful time. Within a day they had learned our daughter's name, and at breakfast they always made sure we had everything we needed — even preparing fresh fruit and vegetable purées. They entertained her so we could actually enjoy our meal, which meant so much to us. A special thank you to Marcela, Cataline, Sonia and Thalia — you made our stay unforgettable. If you’re looking for a centrally located, genuinely child-friendly hotel in Chiang Mai, this is it.

My wife and I enjoyed staying at the Melia during our honeymoon, however we liked it less than the other hotels we stayed at in Thailand during our honeymoon at a similar price point. Pros: Many amenities are very nice (good breakfast, the gym is nice, and the sky bar has a nice view). We really liked the level lounge and enjoyed relaxing there. The service was great, the staff working there were excellent. Cons: it did not feel like a romantic getaway location for our honeymoon. it’s a big corporate hotel with a lot of guests. It has a much less relaxing / private vibe than other hotels we stayed at. The dinner we had at the restaurant wasn’t very good. The service was very slow and we had better food for less money at other restaurants in Chiang Mai. The ceilings are also oddly low in the hallways and felt kind of claustrophobic. Overall, it was a nice hotel but for a similar price point I believe there a better options in Chiang Mai for a couple on their honeymoon.

Amora in the dinning room is amazing . She is attentive and kind. The food is over the top delicious. The management team, especially Maria, was lovely We couldn’t have been happier. The melia is a wonderful hotel. My room is phenomenal. Clean and beautiful. The whole staff is amazing. And I work for a large chain hotel. The melia is impressive.
