The hotel itself is not bad at all. It’s large, impressive, the rooms are spacious and clean, the pool area is comfortable, and the beach access is excellent. The reception staff were outstanding — efficient, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. Housekeeping was also excellent.
We celebrated my daughter’s birthday during our stay, and the team arranged beautiful decorations on her bed and even brought a cake. It was thoughtful and truly appreciated. Many of the staff members we met were genuinely kind and friendly.
However, considering the many great hotel options in Koh Samui and Thailand in general, I believe there are places with significantly better service and guest experience.
A few examples:
One morning, my brother-in-law arrived at breakfast with his four children. He asked the omelet station staff to prepare omelets. After making four omelets, the staff member refused to prepare a fifth one, saying “four is enough.” There were five people (him and four kids). This felt unnecessary and unwelcoming.
Another example is the pool policy regarding outside food and drinks. While I understand that hotels may have such policies, the way it was enforced felt excessive. My brother-in-law entered with a mango he had bought from a beach vendor for his children. He was not allowed to enter the hotel area with it. When he asked if he could sit on the hotel chairs at the beach and eat it there, he was also refused. It was just a simple mango bought for kids — the reaction felt disproportionate.
Later that afternoon, when the pool area was being cleared, a staff member collected trash from the tables but refused to remove empty plastic water bottles that we had purchased outside (just water). He placed them back near us and said we needed to throw them away ourselves. This felt unnecessarily unfriendly.
Another small but inconvenient issue: the electricity in the room only works if the balcony door is locked from the inside — not just closed, but locked. That means if I’m sitting on the balcony and my wife is inside, she cannot use the air conditioning unless the door is locked. It’s a small detail, but it affects comfort.
To summarize: the hotel is beautiful and has many positives. Most of the staff are kind and professional. It’s not a bad hotel at all. But in Thailand — where hospitality standards are often exceptional — I’ve experienced warmer, more flexible, and more guest-oriented service elsewhere.
