Location of this hotel is simple perfect. Sunrises and sunsets are great. However, things and interior need some renovation. If visited A Coruña for the exhibition for three days. I remember (I stayed in 2023) my locker was broken and I had to wait a technician to fix it. But verbal stay was good. I’d say 4,5/5. Sunsets and the views! For the dreamers like me! I was really happy at that balcony.

This hotel has seen better days, rooms and common areas look dated. I visit A Coruña every year or so and have stayed at this hotel multiple times through the years. It is my go to place, but I’m not sure if I’ll do it again. Its location is unbeatable, in front of the beach, and if you pick the right room, the view is spectacular. It is also within walking distance from the old town, restaurants and plaza Maria Pita. The service is friendly and plenty of parking is available. My biggest disappointment with the hotel and the reason I may not go back is the air conditioning in the rooms; it simply doesn’t cool the room. The fan hardly blows air. That was also my experience over a year ago when I stayed there in a different room, but same situation. You have to sleep with the windows open and hope for a cool breeze and that the street trash collectors noise does not wake you up in the middle of the night. Truly hope this gets addressed. It really is a good hotel in a great location

First of all its a beautiful hotel from outside including the lobby and in an excellent location. However there is a shortage of staff. Upon arriving in the afternoon, there was no bellman to take our luggage to our room, so my husband had to take our luggage and climb a set of stairs to enter the room. No one had told us there were stairs involved in entering the room. Secondly, they had turned off the air condition so it was stifly hot. Then we had to change rooms (at least they accommodated us with an upgrade) because we found ants on the chair and the bed.

The Meliá is in a perfect position for exploring A Coruña, both the town and the Tower of Hercules. Our room had a fabulous sea view and was very comfortable. Air conditioning wasn’t the best and we had an issue with the room key but it was sorted promptly. Breakfast was very good. Would stay again.

All and all great hotel to stay while in la Coruña. Many amenities, unfortunately they were remodeling so it was a bit harder to navigate the ins and outs of the hotel but at some point they had to do the necessary work obviously

Stayed for 2 nights with my wife and our toddler. Hotel location is top notch. Stayed in suite room on the top floor with stunning view of Riazor beach. Staff were helpful, room was clean. You can hear the waves from bed. Would be happy to return again.

Very poor customer service. We showed up at the hotel for a three night stay and were told that there was no booking for us on the nights that we planned for. Instead of trying to help us problem solve the issue in a mutually respectful way they tried to sell us a room for more than double the rate that we had booked on their website two days prior. We asked to speak with a manager but they refused to come out to speak with us (even though the front desk staff kept going back to talk to them). We left in the pouring rain to find another hotel as we had no where to sleep for the next three nights. We followed up afterwards with the customer experience dept and they showed no compassion or willingness to provide good customer service either. It was a very upsetting situation and we will never, ever support this company again if that is how they choose to treat customers. Shame on you for treating people this way.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here at the moment we were in a duplex suite 614.It’s not the fact that you can here the lifts going up and down all night long it’s not the fact the balcony doors aren’t very good at keeping the sound out it’s not the fact I got food poisoning in there restaurant last night it’s the fact they have construction work going on right outside the window all day long

Yelp
I have to admit that I did not experience any of the shortcomings that some of the other reviewers experienced. Instead, I experienced a very friendly staff in nice eclectic hotel setting. I believe the hotel is located in a retrofitted old building that was turned into a hotel. Why? Well I was on the 6th floor and as soon as I entered my room I had to climb a metal spiral staircase that went into my room? How did I get my heavy suitcase up that winding staircase? Very slowly!?! But, hey, I understand in Europe they are not as quick as we are to demolish beautiful old buildings. Which I believe is great because at the same time you are helping to preserve a piece of history. The staff was very hospitable and informative. I took the staff up on some of their restaurant recommendations and I was just blown away at how great of a food location that Coruna is. Most notably, steak from the blonde Gallego bulls which is even better than wagu beef from Japan. Yes, its true, better than wagu beef! Moreover, the seafood here is simply outstanding and better yet the prices were on the cheap side for what I received!! Fantastic eating out value! Room service was excellent. The food delivered to my room was actually very good. Also, my booking included free breakfast which I also loved. Moreover, Coruna served as a jump off point to visit Santiago De Compostela which was only a 40 minute train ride away. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to walk like all of the other thousands of pilgrims visiting. Back to my hotel stay, I highly recommend this place if you find yourself on your way this corner of Espana.

Yelp
This Melia falls well below its own aspirations. They explained that they turn off the hotel's AC chiller at 1am and the room gets fairly muggy. The WiFi and hot water are chronically unreliable. The walls are thin and heavy wood doors plus faux wood floors means that any loud footstep will wake you up. We eventually resorted to earplugs although I am a very sound sleeper generally. The Laundry and Parking are pricey and they are not helpful in finding you any alternatives to their prices. Luckily I found a nearby dry cleaners that saved me about $60 USD over the hotel. Lastly, the bathroom had very shoddy work, broken tiles, and a broken shower head meant to adjust, but it kept sliding down. There are better alternatives for the money.
