Meliá Puerto Vallarta

I’ll start and finish this review with Service at Melia and the staff’s amazing attention to all our needs and comments. We have two young kids 4 and 7 and they loved loved loved the pool and the kids club. Special mention goes out to the staff at the kids club, Sara-Janet and Casandra. They allowed us to just relax by the pool or whatever we were doing and to just know that they were busy doing activities not 30 meters away and having lots of fun. From face painting to little adventures to be “Turtle Guardians” they took perfect care of the kids which ensured that we could relax as any parent would want to in this beautiful location. This location is fantastic and the beach is fun as well. Sand is great for the kids and there’s a protected area where they can play in the ocean(although you still have to be vigilant of the waves etc) The vendors on the beach were few and respectful. The management staff at Amelia and the restaurant staff are beyond accommodating and go above and beyond including seeming to give Al their attention to find my kids stuffy. Anyways. Our family will return happily next year. This is a lovely place and the I think I need to write another review for the food as it deserves a huge positive mention as well it was almost entirely amazing even at the regular buffet. Their options were keeping us so happy everyday and the icecream cones were a favourite with the kids along with the fresh pasta station.

The staff were all amazing, so caring. Even in the difficult security situation that arose during our stay, they handled in fantastic and worked hard to keep everyone safe and happy. The fish house was amazing, and all the activities available throughout the day were awesome. Hotel was so clean, it was so nice having the room cleaned daily. Great margaritas as well!! Location was perfect, many restaurants within walking distance at the marina. Highly recommend!

The experience here was absolutely fantastic. While the rooms felt like they could use a refresh, the were having some work done on another floor while we were there. The food at the buffet had excellent variety and was good. If you go at a bad time for meals it may no longer be warm though. The a la carte restaurants were phenomenal. The activities and entertainment was very fun. Alejandra and Anna are very engaging and want to make sure that everyone has fun. The staff in general did a very good job at making our stay fun and safe especially during the unexpected conflict between cartel and Mexican forces. Travel abroad at your own risk but the Melia staff made it a good experience overall

I will start with most of the staff were amazing, the issues with this resort are clearly a lack of money and management.||Extremely disappointed with our recent stay. Check-in was delayed because our room was undergoing repairs, we finally got into a new room which was nicer than the original , there was no hot water or coffee for 2 days, we finally got the cofee but it took three days to get a water reservoir to make it. I asked for a bottle of water and was told only in my room.||The dining experience was very frustrating, the specialty restaurants had a maximum of 10 tables occupied a night yet we were told no reservations were available. Once we got to The fish house it was a great experience. “Mole and tacos”on the other hand was inedible. Resigned to the buffet, a couple of staff was rude and the food was extremely sub-par, we were told we “forbidden” take a simple snack of 4 ribs from the buffet to our room and told to pay for room service instead. Meanwhile others were taking plates full of desserts to their room. The great location of the property made it convenient to eat elsewhere. |For the price, the hotel was run down and very lacking. We have been to Mexico many times and this resort was hands down the worst.

Positive: The grounds are beautiful. Negative: Room #1 was filthy - caked makeup on the counter and food spots on the mirrors; room #2 was freezing cold- air conditioner didn't work and no hot water for showers - lukewarm water was cold. Checked out on second day.

The grounds we clean and beautiful. Room was clean and we'll appointed. The food was good especially at the fish house. Service was amazing ( we stayed over the time of the unrest in Puerto Vallarta) we felt safe and well cared for. Montserrat at guest services was amazing helpful and very kind. Over all a great trip and we would come here again.

Guitron, Franco, David and Franco were so so kind and overall great people at the bar. Sara and Janet At the Kids’s club, we’re fantastic – they had the kids making cupcakes and they made sure our son was safe and careful especially because he had a nut allergy. The kids club was absolutely the highlight for the children and honestly for us as well lol With everything that happened here this week and even with having to worry about their own families, they were so thoughtful and courteous to all of the people staying here. I feel so grateful ❤️

We haven't even left this resort yet and are already talking about returning. It's been a wonderful experience! The food at both the buffet and Mole & Tacos was fantastic. We unfortunately didn't visit the Fish House due to an allergy, however we heard it's also great. The Kidsdom is absolutely also worth mentioning. Our daughter was hesitant to go at first, but the staff there were wonderful with her and made her feel so welcome. She would be in and out through the day depending on the activities, but always said she had a great time. I really appreciated the sign in/out and how they asked where we would be in case of an emergency, I felt very safe leaving her there for the activities. All in all the resort was exactly what I expected it to be, and we very much enjoyed ourselves.
