I recently stayed at a delightful guest lodge that I can’t recommend enough. Nestled within a garden of enormous, old, shady trees, the lodge feels like a peaceful haven. The property features a sparkling blue pool that’s perfectly framed by the dining hall—a beautifully decorated space with fine furnishings that exude elegance and charm.
The rooms are equally stunning. Each one is tucked away in the lush gardens, offering a sense of privacy and quaintness. Inside, they are adorned with luxurious interiors and the finest linens, making your stay feel truly indulgent.
The host and owner, Sue, is the heart of this place. Her warm hospitality is unmatched. Upon arrival, she poured me a glass of wine, and we had a lovely chat—it was like catching up with an old friend. Sue’s care and attention to detail extend to the food, which is absolutely divine. For lunch, we enjoyed roast beef and chicken with perfectly cooked butternut, spinach, and potatoes, followed by homemade apple pie for dessert. The meals are a testament to her passion for creating a memorable experience for her guests.
To top it all off, the prices are incredibly reasonable for the level of luxury, comfort, and personal touch you receive. It’s truly a hidden gem.
