This is a beautifully restored hotel, just the right size, with wonderful views of the beach and the ocean. Our seaview suite in one of the annexes was a delight, with a separate bedroom for the kids, and all the storage in the hallway so that the bedroom itself was a serene, uncluttered haven. The restaurant is great, with a wonderful five-course tasting menu, which changes every day; it was always well planned and exquisitely executed. The chef himself is a really lovely man, and comes up with thoughtful kids options too. Special mention to the fantastic Polish mother-and-daughter housekeeping team, who could not do enough to help us, and were brilliant at laundering our piles of dirty washing from the glamping part of our holiday immediately beforehand. We love this hotel and will definitely be back. Thank you, Melsted Badehotel!

Excellent stay for our family of 6. (2 children, 2 adults & 2 seniors) We couldn't ask for anything nicer. We stayed in the 3 bedroom 'thatched' cottage. Having 1 bedroom on the ground floor was perfect for the seniors. Only down side, was there's only 1 bathroom. However, it is large and well equipped and worked fine for our family. There's a full size refrigerator, dishwasher and oven - so making meals for the family was easy. Also having the beach only a few feet from our cottage was wonderful for the children. This was all pulled together with the help from Maria who was beyond outstanding answering any questions we had ahead of time. She greeted us and made our stay completely enjoyable. Should we have the opportunity to visit again, we can only hope that Maria will be there to greet us.

Our second stay at Melsted was mostly what we had hoped for in a beautiful room in the Pileannex.|Breakfast is sufficient with buffé some days and tableserving some days.|The food at lunch and at dinner is very good. |Unfortunately the nice but mostly unexperienced staff is not always doing the restaurant justice. |Not wanting to move two tables a bit apart at dinnertime and seat us at the one we wanted (”no, it is for four persons”), when three minutes later two other persons were granted the same request by another staffmember, left a very irritating feeling with us – be flexible and consistent.|And, with a set dinnermenu, we and other guests should not have to wait 40 minutes for the main course. |Best regards|Jan Andersson

Wow, we really loved this hotel. First, the location is perfect, right on the beach and so quiet. We stayed in Fyr Annex in a beautiful large room with a terrace facing the sea. Everything in the room was lovely (bathroom is small but with a good shower). The housekeeping service was exceptional, with lots of thoughtful touches every day to ensure we had what we needed. Very good, friendly service throughout the hotel. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection of cheeses, meats, fruit, yoghourt, juices etc and eggs, bacon or sausages as well each day, served in the beautiful dining room overlooking the sea. The bread was particularly gorgeous. We had dinner in the hotel twice during our five night stay. The food is good but it's a set menu and we would have preferred some a la carte choices as well. It's definitely 'fancy' food, which we didn't want to eat every evening, otherwise we would have been happy to dine in each night. High end alternatives are quite a drive away, although there are some good and homely restaurants in nearby Gudhjem. The only other downside is there are no coffee making facilities in the room, which we would have liked to have. But we had a fabulous time in this beautiful and relaxing hotel and would come again in a heartbeat.

Back for another short stay at Melsted badehotel. Another excellent experience a short weekend in September when the crowds diminish but the weather is still nice. Stayed in room 3 overlooking the baltic all the way to Ertholmene and went on a few good hikes. Had dinner in the restaurant two nights. One night the full menu and the other night the hotel menu. Breakfast with great and changing options. This is becoming a September tradition for us :-) and we will likely be back next yr (pending availability)

Pretty and good restaurant by the sea. Try to get a reservation for dinner. Friendly service and great food.

Stayed in the main building, room without balcony. Light and down to earth colours. Big windows, great view over the backyards and see. No TV and that's positive. 20 meters to the beach. Breakfast was good as was dinner at evening. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Insane waiting time (70 min) for the food precludes a higher rating, but great view, vibe, and decor. Food was good, service was inattentive and slow

Yelp
On our tour of Bornholm we checked this little restaurant right on the shoreline. Nouvelle cuisine style, take at least 3 courses. Taste and arrangement is great. The ever smiling, friendly waiter was a bonus. The restaurant is small, and has a great panoramic view over the sea. Call ahead and make reservations, we didn't but were lucky to get the last available table.
