You want the “local” experience? sitting on the street on tiny chairs with a sail as protection from the street underneath you’re sitting and munching your memelas and empanadas.
There are 3 ladies working non-stop with a hefty noteblock that registers all the orders. It’s always full, people are in line to eat their order or take there order. And it’s worth it.
These ladies know what they’re doing. No thrills, no fuzz. Just quality street food. You better be in Oaxaca on a Sunday, because it’s only open then.
Go, wait, try and enjoy! Won’t miss. Try the Flor de calabaza empanada, and any memelas will do.
