21 Best Bars in Tokyo, from Hotel Lounges to a Tequila Speakeasy | Condé Nast Traveler

"The look at this cacao-themed boite, in the Toranomon Hills Yokocho food hall, is medicine-man-meets-mad-scientist, with walls adorned with bunches of dried flowers, shelves lined with botanical infusions and baskets filled with palm-sized cacao pods on the counter. Shuzo Nagumo’s inventive recipes incorporate every part of the Amazonian fruit, in drinks like the cacao pulp fizz or the chocolately cacao Negroni. He collaborates with companies such as Cacao Hunters and Maison Cacao, who work with indigenous growers in Colombia. Seasonal fruit and locally grown flowers make it into tipples such as the pepper leaf tonic and lemon, rose and geranium cocktail. Food-wise, there’s a lovely selection of fair-trade chocolate and spiced sweets to pair with the drinks, but not much in the way of mains." - Melinda Joe

Exceptional service, really classy atmosphere, and a wonderful variety of flavours and options. As a non-alcohol drinker I had the mocktail set with three drinks, and a chocolate terrine dessert. Everything was delicious and the serving staff were friendly and attentive.

Very nice cacao focused concept cocktail bar. Though I like the idea of the flight and it's a better value per drink, I think ordering a la carte is better for me. Good mix of sweet and boozy cocktails. Good quality food but, though you can order a meal here, options are limited and it's really better for snacks. Note to management: don't close on arbitrary Tuesdays. Close on all Tuesdays or don't close on any Tuesdays. It's very frustrating when Google says you're open, your website says you're open, you don't answer the phone, and then you have a paper sign on the door saying you're closed on random Tuesdays.

It's definitely a must go bar if you're in the area. Some of the best cocktails I've ever had! Combined, my husband and I had 8 drinks and not a single one disappointed. My recommendation would be the flight.

We stumbled across this place due to having a reservation for dinner in the area, and decided to stop in. We did not expect such an incredible experience. The atmosphere and decor is gorgeous. The bartenders were very friendly and approachable and kindly spoke English to us since it was clear we were tourists. The menu itself is all based around cacao, but the recipes are all perfectly balanced without being overwhelming. These were some of the best cocktails we had on our entire Japan trip. The espresso martini was the best we’d ever had. The Negroni was also surprisingly great. We will definitely be interested in checkout out the cocktail group’s other bars and lounges throughout Japan.

Friendly service in both Japanese and English and an interesting concept. Cocktails I tried were balanced but a bit pricey. I get cacao is an expensive product but you’re definitely paying for the high rent location. Nothing but tourists here. Plus they tack on that cover charge, which just adds to the taxation. With so many high quality bars in Tokyo, this is more like a one and done kind of place.

Memento Mori, ranked 41st best bar in Asia, is a cacao and mixology haven. My wife, friends, and I enjoyed old fashioneds, espresso martinis, and a limited edition Roquefort Au Chocolat. The service, ambiance, and cocktails were exceptional. The bar features cocktails crafted from Japan's finest botanicals and the world's best cacao, the "food of the gods." Each drink, a blend of nature’s finest and meticulous effort, tells a story. Memento Mori is a must-visit for a unique, cacao-infused cocktail experience.

The dedication of this bar to focus their ingredients around Cacao is amazing. All the drinks did not disappoint and the bartenders can handle English really well. From a twist of classic to their own concoction, this is truly a nice bar to venture. The drinks are pretty decent, so lightweight beware. They have limited seatings so do make a reservation if you are heading down.

This is a great place if you're into cacao cocktails. Everything, from the service, atmosphere to the drinks we had was on point.
