"Accessed through a tiny passage in the Príncipe Real, an upscale residential neighborhood filled with centuries-old mansions and tranquil gardens, this 41-room property feels akin to a secret hideaway. Embodying modern Lisbon, rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary decor like sleek metal consoles and soft faux-fur throws in neutral white, gray, and beige tones, and blond slatted-wood partitions separate sleeping areas from bathrooms stocked with Hermès toiletries. Other posh amenities include cocktail stations and, in some rooms, private balconies with outdoor fireplaces. But the hotel’s most magnificent luxury of all may be its terrace, which is dominated by a narrow outdoor pool that’s heated all year long, fabulously lit up at night, and perched on a hillside for sublime city views."

Everything about this hotel was perfect! The view was absolutely stunning 🫢 I couldn’t get enough. Loved the welcome drinks and dessert selection, and the amenities were top-notch. Breakfast was a bit more basic than expected, but the Lisbon scenery from the hotel more than made up for it. It’s in a great location with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, all within walking distance. I especially recommend booking the private suite with the best view it’s absolutely worth it. A hotel that truly lives up to its price!

We only stayed in this hotel for 1 night, I wish we had stayed longer. We had returned from the Algarve to get closer to the airport with our family of four. We stayed in a family room which was perfect with two bedrooms. The hotel is tucked away which makes it special and as you drive up you can see the amazing views of the city. The location and service were wonderful. We ate dinner at the restaurant which was delicious and also had great service. The front desk staff were very helpful to suggest lunch locations. We arrived at the same time as the President of Portugal was arriving with his delegation to have lunch and the hotel still allowed us to check in with no issues. It was an exciting experience to see all the action. Next time we visit Lisbon we are definitely returning to this wonderful hotel. We stayed in three hotels during our Portugal vacation and this was the best for service, quality, and location. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Memmo Príncipe Real for my boyfriend’s birthday, and it was truly unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond to make it special — especially Luisa at the front desk, who catered to our every whim with warmth and grace. Her dinner recommendations were spot-on, and she made us feel so cared for. The rooms are sleek, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The entire hotel is a design lover’s dream — from the stylish interiors to the serene pool with breathtaking views over Lisbon. Breakfast was absolutely phenomenal each morning, and every team member we encountered — at the front desk and in the restaurant — was kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. I’ve been to Lisbon five times, and this is by far my favorite place to stay. Memmo Príncipe Real captures the soul of the city with refined elegance and heartfelt hospitality. Already dreaming of our return!

Wonderful hotel. Everything was 5 star quality. The interiors are very stylish. Our room ah a lovely ‘balcony’ area with the morning light flooding into our room. The swimming pool was accessible whenever we wanted it. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Always helpful. The food was delicious. The views from the hotel are wonderful. Ther location is perfect for exploring Lisbon but also for escaping into a quiet hub to get a good nights sleep. The immediate area has wonderful tapas restaurants and shops too. Gorgeous

The service team was exceptional from beginning to end. They excel in the small touches. Like welcome card and a wonderful room gift for after dinner. Very clean and a cool vibe. Great rooftop and location. Don't go for the pool though. Small and cold. Would stay again and recommend to family and friends!

I had the pleasure of staying at Memmo Príncipe Real, a stunning hotel that is part of Marriott’s Design Hotels collection, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Nestled in the heart of one of Lisbon’s most vibrant neighborhoods, this boutique hotel perfectly blends elegance, comfort, and exceptional service. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with warm hospitality, and the staff truly go above and beyond to make your stay memorable—special thanks to Bruno, whose attentiveness and friendliness added a personal touch to the experience. One of the highlights of the hotel is the outdoor heated pool, offering a serene escape with breathtaking views of the city. Adjacent to it is the main restaurant, where you can indulge in delicious food and expertly crafted drinks while enjoying the stylish yet relaxed ambiance. The location is unbeatable—perfect for exploring on foot, discovering charming streets, and experiencing Lisbon’s renowned dining and nightlife scene. Whether you’re a solo traveler seeking a peaceful retreat or a couple looking for a romantic getaway, Memmo Príncipe Real is an excellent choice. I look forward to returning to this exceptional hotel on my next visit to Lisbon!

**Disappointing Stay – Definitely Not Worth the Price** We booked a "superior 2 bed room" at Memmo Príncipe Real, which was advertised as having two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the rooms had a direct view of the parking area, with cars constantly turning around beneath the window — incredibly noisy and unpleasant. The other room faced... a wall. Not much better. The bathrooms were small, poorly designed, and impractical to use. The only spacious part of the room was the oddly long hallway between the two bedrooms — hardly a redeeming feature. At €750 per night, this setup was absolutely not worth the price and should be avoided altogether. The experience throughout the hotel was consistently disappointing. Staff seemed indifferent at best, no one cracked a smile the entire time. Breakfast supposedly opens at 7:30, but nothing was ready at that time. To make matters worse, the staff vacuumed around our feet while we were eating. Truly unbelievable. The hotel also gives you restaurant vouchers — but they are barely worth using. The options are either a starter, a dessert, or a drink and the staff makes you feel awkward for even using them. We dined there on our first night: the restaurant was empty (understandably so), and the food was forgettable. The bacon on the burger was burned to a crisp, all black. When we used our voucher for a dessert, we were questioned about whether we had already used one for a starter — as if we were trying to scam them. And if that wasn’t enough, after we left, we received an email accusing us of having taken a chocolate bar from the minibar without informing them on the last day — and that they would charge us €12. Of course, we hadn’t touched it. I replied to let them know exactly where the chocolate still was in the room (next to the chips), and only then did they backtrack and admit everything was fine. For a stay that cost over €2300, this kind of petty and accusatory behavior is just absurd. In short, between the disappointing room, rude staff, unremarkable food, and absurd price, Memmo Príncipe Real was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had in this price range. Absolutely not recommended. ---

You made a magical experience for my wife and I, thank you! A great base to enjoy Lisbon, but quiet enough to relax after a day of crowds with a quiet dip, softer bar, excellent drinks, and the best service I’ve had in a long while. Well done!

Yelp
We LOVED Memmo PR Hotel! From before we even checked in to the very end of our stay, everything was fantastic. Manuel greeted us at our Uber and insisted on bringing our bags down the little hill to the hotel. The hotel is right off the main street, but right behind building so it feels quiet and peaceful yet still in a great location. The view from the hotel is stunning. Everyone was so friendly at check-in and they treat you like a VIP. We loved the room. It had lots of space, Great, closet, yoga mat, umbrella, a huge patio with a fireplace! There was a welcome cocktail in there for you and more welcome wine at the restaurant. They soon left a fruit platter in our room for us to enjoy. Bed was comfortable and the curtains were complete blackout curtains, making the room nice and dark at night. We didn't hear a peep while in our room. It was very quiet. Breakfast was great! They had a buffet and they also had a menu from which you could order from. We ate so much at breakfast every day. We really can't say enough good things about this hotel. We absolutely loved it and would love to stay at other. Memmo boutique hotels in the future.

Yelp
This is a lovely and unpretentious boutique hotel with amazing views past the outdoor lap pool and patio area. The staff is kind and helpful and genuinely welcoming. Even with a couple of problems (non-working plumbing and a continuous stream of little black ants) it was a very comfortable stay. Upon check in we were welcomed with a tasty mint/cinnamon tea. Our room was on the small side but typical for European hotels. We had a balcony with a real wood fireplace and a great view around the side. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were large and fluffy. There were electric outlets on each side of the bed as well as on the far wall and in the bathroom. It's a good thing we remembered our converters! There was a mini Nespresso machine with coffees and teas, a mini fridge and complimentary ingredients (including a fresh lime) for a Port Tonic (with the recipe) - it was very good! We were also given a welcome tray with a variety of cut fresh fruits and dates and the turn down service each evening included chocolates. The breakfast buffet was typical for a European breakfast (lots of meats and delicious cheeses and fresh fruit) with a menu for hot items. A bakery tower was placed on each table and juices and several types of coffee were available. This area is also the bar and restaurant area for lunch and dinner. We did have drinks one afternoon and checked out the menu which looked very good but we didn't have any other meals here. I would recommend this hotel for everyone staying in the Lisbon.

Yelp
We stayed for 6 nights in a city view superior room, and loved every part of it! Principe Real was the perfect place to spend our week; it felt like a great central location to all of the neighborhoods we wanted to spend time in. Lots of bars and nightlife in the immediate area, but the hotel is tucked away off the main street, so noise was never an issue. Close to LGBT nightlife as well, which was another plus for us! You're steps away from Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, which has gorgeous panoramic views of the city, as well as a market and music a few days a week. Important to note though that the views from the hotel are nearly identical and more private, which was great for lounging late at night. The room was spacious and exceeded expectations. We received multiple complimentary drinks on arrival, and we had a small balcony with a gorgeous view of the city. What really made this stay so special was the staff. The front desk was friendly and made check in seamless. Each night we returned to a clean room with fresh sheets and towels, and even got nightly weather reports for the following day, as well as suggestions for activities. We especially loved João, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome during our stay. When we told him we were headed to Cascais for the remainder of our trip, he contacted a colleague working at the hotel we were staying at to see if any perks were available, and made sure to write down some food recommendations for the area. Truly not a single complaint! We will definitely be staying here again the next time we're in Lisbon.

Yelp
This hotel has a great location, walkable to all the tourist attractions, great restaurants, and great service. I'm not sure I would say it's 5 stars based on American ratings and amenities but it's was a great way to start the trip and I'd say it's a high 4 stars for sure. Our room was upgraded to the terrace room, we had a great view, private terrace and could keep the door open at night for fresh air, no noise what so ever. The restaurant was excellent and breakfast was top notch. The room while is small, is very well planned out and gives you space for two large suitcases, lots of shelf space, excellent bed and amenities. The only thing lacking here was a gym for my husband. The pool is more decorative than a place to lounge, but we weren't here for that. They offered a great walking tour each day, and after we hired the guide for a day trip. We had a complimentary port bottle to make a fun drink, plenty of water and a very nice rain shower. The street right outside the hotel has lots of restaurants and bars and it was just a lovely way to start the trip, highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Beware of bait and switch with your room selection! The rooms look nothing at all as they are shown online Booked junior suite and was escorted to a room eye level with front entry and driveway of hotel even after I requested quiet room in advance. Our window was literally with a view of the cars pulling up to the hotel on their very steep driveway. Refused and then told I would be getting an upgrade and ushered to the lower level below the lobby, it had an outdoor lounge but no privacy with the rooms next to us. The room was so small and the bathroom was upper level of the room and had 3 steep stairs to get to it Try doing that in the middle of the night Then we left room on our first day and returned around 5 pm and it still had not been serviced s we were told we needed to request an early service because this was still within their regular hours of making up the room. Breakfast was nothing special, plates were not clean and service was not good. Would not recommend this hotel but I do love the neighborhood it is located in .

Yelp
Very small boutique hotel in Portugal. Compared the the air bnb there this hotel is expensive. However, there are complimentary tours. The view is spectacular. The toiletries are one of the best and they welcome you with port wine. You can't go wrong with that. The staff very helpful and accommodating. You are in walking distance of everything. Catch the train, walk, restaurants and bars. There are small cafes for breakfast and pastries right in front.

Yelp
My fiancée and I had an unbelievable stay here from the moment we arrived to a breathtaking view of Lisbon. The staff is incredibly attentive and we were given spot-on recommendations mostly in Principe Real, a picturesque neighborhood which is one of the fancier ones in Lisbon but in a good way, dotted with really cool spots and beautiful streets high above the city, evocative of a bygone era and yet very cutting edge. The rooms were well designed for the utmost comfort. The color scheme and the sleek wood style was modern and cozy all at once. On my birthday, we came home to a delicious chocolate cake with a thoughtful birthday note. The cocktail bar had a breathtaking view at sunset. Loved this hotel through and through. Cannot wait to go back.
