Staff was so friendly and accommodating. I came on a weekend day trip with a friend for her birthday and we both smiled. This place helped enforce the truth that art inspired. Kudos to the staff for such clean presentation, interesting and thoughtful story-telling, navigable exhibits, and educational format.

The thing I really like about the MAG is their choice of rotating exhibits. The variety is great; anything from impressionist classics to contemporary pieces. It's also just a great third place to hang out! Grab a coffee and chill in the atrium. I will also say that Clothesline Festival is, in my opinion, the BEST festival in the city to buy art. The selection is way more curated and admission to the museum is included with the ticket price.

This museum was just enough. I've been to big city art museums, and there is SO MUCH to see that it's easy to get overstimulated. In this museum, I think I was two galleries from the end before I had vision overload. Great blend of modern art, sacred art, sculpture, etc. Bonus tip: Save the special gallery rooms, the floors are largely concrete. If you like to read all the plaques, wear shoes that are comfortable to stand in on unforgiving surfaces.

We've gone to the MAG many a time over the years and its one of our favorite places to go! The installations are are always dynamic and intriguing. Last year we were able to catch the organ played upstairs and it was such an experience - highly recommend, (the water pipes! Iykyk) Accessible, affordable, inclusive and the perfect outing for a snowy or rainy day!

A very fun time! The Gallery has a wide breadth of media covered from ancient Greek and Egyptian works to a large hall of contemporary pieces - many by local artists. There is even an immense pipe organ located on the second floor encompassing an entire wall of the largest gallery in the old portion of the building. It's definitely a fun day trip, especially if you're a fan of art that ties into local history.

I will start with the fact that I would not call myself an art lover. I can appreciate some for beauty and the skill it took, but there are still some I just dont get. With that said, it is ok not to understand some of it, not everyone will. The MAG is clean, spacious, and contained way more than I had expected. I learned that my appreciate for art doesnt come from the beauty of the piece but from the history behind it. If you love history you will love it here just like the art lovers.

A gem of a place. I went knowing very little about the Gallery, other than it was organized thematically. I found works that I've only seen online. To say that my heart felt deep happiness doesn't describe that visceral feeling when art touches you. It's different for everyone. And indeed, there is something for everyone! Many time periods, styles and regions are represented: thematically, by countries, techniques and centuries. The presentation on the Italian Baroque Organ was marvelous. To be surrounded by the genre paintings, made it easier to imagine that this was part of daily life. Be sure to check the time 3pm on the actual date, not the general description that incorrectly says 3:30pm.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Memorial Art Gallery. It has a decent and diverse collection that’s worth exploring. However, a couple of things could be improved. Many paintings on the first floor didn’t have any descriptions, which made it hard to fully appreciate them. Also, the ancient Middle East section is placed in a bad spot in the museum. Besides, it has very beautiful manuscripts and relics, but the lack of lighting didn’t do them justice (shown in one of the photos). Still, overall a nice place to spend a few hours.
