It isincredible that this is not one of the more recommended places on blogs or vlogs. It’s a 15 minute drive from St John’s harbour. This is an absolutely beautiful collection of different types of gardens from rock gardens to Japanese style gardens. There is even a green house with a grapevine growing profusely with massive bunches of grapes. An absolute must for all the gardeners and those with botanical conservation and nature interests. There is a wonderful pollinator garden and beehive. In addition to the gardens there are trails most gently sloping and low inclines with lots of signs for teaching information about the wild plants and berries. Definitely senior friendly trails with exception one that is clearly labelled as rugged.

The Botanical Garden was not on our to-do list as it’s not mentioned anywhere on any “Things to do in St John’s” sites. But since we had a gap in our schedule, my daughter wanted to go see it. Boy aren’t we happy we did! We did all 4 trails and the garden. The trails are well kept and clean. The air is fresh. The hike is very kid friendly. I highly recommend if you like a little easy walk in nature.

Wow. This place has a lot of love evident. It's beautifully done with gorgeous samples everywhere you look! So many fun features in it, and the staff were wonderful. You can easily spend a couple hours taking everything in!

This was a great place to take a break and have a hike. We walked along many of the trails and went to the lookout. It was quite nice overall

So beautiful! We went about an hour before closing and basically had the place to ourselves. It is such a nice way to spend an afternoon and our toddler loved looking around, too!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the botanical garden. The site was different than anticipated, with more walking trails - which I didn’t know about and hadn’t allocated time for. If I came again, I would give myself more time to enjoy them all. The main garden and Macleod trail were lovely. I appreciated all the signage and info at each garden - very educational. I was there at 9:30 AM on a Thursday and the gardens were quiet and peaceful. Staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. For a lover of gardens and flowers - this was the perfect way to spend a morning. There is a ramp to enter the main building, an electronic door opener for accessibility. The main path and boardwalk are level, making a lot of the space accessible, though it is not paved, and there are some hills, which may post a challenge for some.

Google
Absolutely fabulous gardens with a lot of specimens and very well defined and marked trails. Although it's a relatively small area at ~100 acres, the space is extremely well managed with 5 different trails to choose from. Had a great time here and would definitely visit again!

Yelp
Beautiful botanical garden and forest area. Lots a trails to walk. A lot geared towards kids but that's ok. We had a nice almost 2 mile walk and came inside to use the WC and call a cab. The business card for the cab neglected to put the area code on the card? The wonderful ladies at the botanical garden helped us out. Gave me the area code and called a taxi for us. Also gave us suggestions on a cemetery to visit. I get lots of different reactions when I ask about cemeteries and they weren't phased they were kinda exited. Great place and wonder friendly staff.

Yelp
Beautiful gardens and large areas of wilderness to explore on trails rated between easy and moderate. Your self guided tour begins and ends at the main building adjacent to the parking lot. This houses their administration offices, gift shop, washrooms, displays introducing the park, as well as the space where they hold have information seminars and host children's groups. Obey all posted signs! Remember, this is a botanical garden and collection of any kind is not allowed (even for identification purposes). Perfect opportunity to polish up on your photography skills! ( http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/9GkkXRO6QvRiq3XD9MpRvg?select=5AjoCxJehgnMuqvSTwbKTg ) You won't believe the wonderful diversity of plant life here; the effort that has gone into identifying, developing and maintaining the various areas is phenomenal. Garden is open during all kinds of weather. It is even beautiful in the rain and the fog. ( http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/9GkkXRO6QvRiq3XD9MpRvg?select=tqO3TxZuNTSfcHOVpkdaBg ) Great place to visit and explore with kids of all ages.

Yelp
Beautiful garden with lots of flowers and trees.... nice trails with total approximately 5km. I came in early May was a little early as the flowers were not blooming yet, but the garden were very nicely maintained, worth the time spending there and definitely will visit again.
