Memphis International Airport

Memphis International Airport has come a long way—and it shows! Loading and unloading is super easy, with well-marked lanes and quick access to the terminal. The newly renovated terminal is beautiful—bright, clean, and modern, with plenty of seating and charging stations throughout. One of my favorite parts is the food selection—you’ve got everything from Chick-fil-A and Starbucks to local spots like Memphis Made Brewing Co. and Grizz Grill. There’s something for everyone, whether you want a full meal or a quick snack. Everything about the airport feels smooth, welcoming, and efficient. Definitely a five-star experience!

We flew into Memphis on vacation in June. Airport is what I consider small, with only one terminal, but full service with many choices of on-site rental cars and several eateries and a bar to choose from. Cell phone charging on arms of chairs. There was a constant buzzing by gate 12 that was annoying. Rental cars are on property, but need to take several moving walks and covered walkways to get to Rental Agencies. You leave out of the baggage area. Baggage area bathrooms are storm shelters. Alamo is part of National so when we arrived at 11:30 pm, we checked in at Alamo, but chose a car under National. (Alamo has better rates than National). We even got to pick our vehicle! Easy return to the airport. We flew Delta that allows 1 free carryone and 1 free personal item. When the plane is full and overhead bins limited, they will offer free complimentary checked baggage at gate that will forward to your destination. Final tip on traveling. The smaller piece of luggage, an Underseater, is considered your personal item, and will fit under your seat, has 2 wheels, a retractable handle, a strap in back, & fits under the seat in front of you. The matching carryon has 4 wheels, retractable handle, and the underseater attaches to the extendable handle to only have to roll one piece through the airport. Your purse will need to go into the underseater for boarding. Underseater is also great for day trips! We only had these 4 pieces of luggage, and vacationed for over a week! Roll your clothes and all will fit. We went to the laundromat the day before so all clothes were repacked clean for sercurity & home.

This is a great airport! Everyone was very kind and made sure I got safely on board. I didn't think I could handle traveling with a wheelchair, but it worked out well.

This place is very good. Went from memphis to laguardia and vice versa and everything went well. Security line was short, check in was very quick and easy, and walking distance was good.

A small airport without many club lounges the Memphis Airport is the closest airport so I am in and out several times every year. I like the long term parking at $10/day...I wish it was less but that is much better than many other airports. On my most recent flight the plane departed on time. Upon return, bags took about fifteen minutes to reach the carousel. One of the moving sidewalks to the parking garage was out of service...seems that one or more are always down.

This is a nice airport. The seating is first class. The toilets are clean and modern. Nice artwork every where. Only 620K population? How do they have such a nice facility?

The airport itself is very nice… clean, spacious, short lines, decent choice of food…TSA, however, is another story… one ‘guard’ was obviously on a power trip. Though my feet were perfectly in the spots, he told me a few times to widen my stance… he had something to say to everyone… he just needed to exert some authority obviously. Napoleon syndrome I suppose.

Nice remodel. If you haven't been through the airport lately, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Memphis airport is slow this Saturday morning and for that I'm glad. The TSA was efficient . I'm grateful that I returned the rental car and walked on a beautiful cool escalator to baggage area and immediately took the escalator to 1 at floor and Southwest Airlines ans the security checkpoints all in same place. Sometimes you don't get lucky and have to go through a maze but in this case everything was in order. Once I got to the gate the airline Stewart told me I could check my bag free which I did! The bag was heavier than when I arrived .. did alittle bit of shopping! Overall a nice clean airport!

Good airport. Smaller but well stocked. A lot of things to see and do. Love the art work by the baggage check

The Memphis Int'l airport is continuing to improve, happy to say. I used online check in and was quickly able to print my bag tag, drop it off and go thru security within 10 min. I was happy to see that there were ample TSA agents to get people through quickly...and being friendly and helpful on top of that!! Very refreshing. The renovations make the airport clean, modern and easily accessible to the gates. I stopped at the Memphis Made bar and grille for a bite to eat before boarding. Shelly, the bartender, was very friendly and helpful bc I didn't want use the QR code to order. The turkey club sandwich was deliciously toasted and well filled.

Very nice airport...Delta side at least. Flew in and out recently..the restrooms are updated , there is great seating and great lighting. Security is quick and friendly...and updated!. Flying was pleasant

It was easy getting off the flight and getting to the exit. It wasn't a long walk either, which is a plus. It's pretty clean, and I must admit it's nice getting to a seat, and the outlet is working. Also, the line for TSA did not take a long time, and it moved pretty fast, with friendly staff even for an early morning flight. It's also easy to get an Uber or Lyft when you e-gag at the airport. Just cross the street, and boom, there's no need to walk forever for the pickup.

Beautiful, clean airport. They walk ways and signage are clear and easy to understand. They offer top restaurants, i.e, ChikfilA, Starbucks, Chilis and popular local establishments. TSA quick and friendly staff. Drop off and pick up at airport areas are a labeled different than most airports, so pay attention. Ticketing is departure drop off and baggage claim is arrival pick up. Great airport to fly through or just come and enjoy the Memphis area.

Beautiful airport. Enjoyed seeing the beautiful artwork made of creative different materials. Collages and mixed media. Some shops have pretty lace metal trim. It's a very clean and new looking airport. I enjoyed stopping thru there. We talk a walk around to admire the beautiful artwork made and grab a coffee brewed in Memphis !

Small, easy to navigate, and very efficient airport! We grabbed some food at Chick Fil A and sat right outside our gate. The TSA line was not long and we waited about 10 minutes. Bathroom was clean.

AirPort is super clean! Small and not what we expected but there is a children's play area by gate 7 and it saved us during our 3 hour delay. There is also some gift shops, Chick fil a and starbucks right near by. It's right in the middle of all the gates so it's quick to get to your gate if you need to. It's definitely keep clean at all time! Every bathroom was clean - amazing family bathrooms! Experience was great overall! TSA was pretty quick, but recommend extra time if you know you carry on is going to be checked (due to many child stuff - extra check takes a little bit of time)

The small airport is easy to navigate, allowing you to reach your gate efficiently. Security checks were quick, with hardly any lines. The bathrooms are very clean, featuring oversized doors that provide complete privacy. Comfortable chairs AND they have charging armrests at every seat! While there aren't many food options, you'll find the usual snack stands and a Starbucks, which are common in most airports. Chik-Fil-A seems to be a popular choice among travelers.

Super nice airport! Lovely wall art, plenty of stations to work from and recharge phone and laptop batteries. Many restaurants options. Very clean and modern bathrooms. Very impressed!

Busy airport with friendly staff. No matter if you are waiting in the TSA line or at Starbucks. The people here are very friendly and you can feel the southern hospitality. Just be aware if you are from the North - you are in the South and life is a bit slower and laid back down here. :)

Such a quiet airport.... The employees at the airport were very helpful... directing us to different locations.... The only issue we had was a taxi driver wanting to over charge us for our drop off.... Thank goodness our hotel sent a shuttle..... and on the hotel app it told us how much a taxi should charge.....

Lots of food, drink, shops, and fun signs in the restroom! Decent airport if you're traveling to this beach of the woods...

Minus the city being what is, this airport is great. It's small enough to not take forever to go through security. Big enough to have a decent variety of food and shops, and comfortable. The bathrooms were clean with updated fixtures. I liked the options of desk like areas for people needing to do work while traveling. Individual chairs to give a bit of privacy. Plenty of options for charging electronic devices. Hands down one of the nicest airports I have been to!!

The service at this airport is the worst. Every restaurant is run by the most rude staff that could care less about customer service. Everything is dirty, they essentially throw the food at you. This place needs a reset.

This is the most disorganized airport. Additionally they are not knowledgeable with TSA rules and threw away a prescription medication (nothing exciting) without any reason at all and it was within the TSA guidelines. Now, on the return flight, I'm sitting "100 feet" from the gate for almost an hour because they haven't backed a plane out and we can't park. There is just no excuse for this.

This is actually a super nice airport! I was very impressed. Everything is very updated, it's clearly been renovated recently, there is plenty to eat and an amazing amount of places to sit in new chairs and charging areas. One of the nicer smaller airports I've been in recently. Check-in of our bags with Delta was easy as pie, TSA was quick and kind (we have TSA-pre) where I was selected for additional screening but had a pat down instead bc I asked for it - the lady was super nice and we had a nice chat. This small airport has about 23 gates and one terminal - easily walkable with some cute shops and shopping to kill the time and get some goodies or Memphis-themed gifts if you need. Rental return was a breeze - it's a quick and easy walk from the rental return garage to the ticketing and bag drop area and they have plenty of short and long-term parking.

Best airport in the south by far for customer service and cleanliness. It also has chargers at every seat, it's amazing.

I wish I could leave zero stars. I just was denied entry onto my flight because the young lady said that the counter was closed, but my flight hadn't even taken off yet to me. It just showed how lazy she was and that she really didn't wanna take the time to accommodate me she claimed my son was not on my reservation when in fact he was and if that was the case, why didn't she extend me the option to buy a ticket, if he wasn't on my reservation, why why didn't she try to accommodate me because I wasn't gonna fly with my baby this young lady literally said that she was she pretty much just told me she won't print on my board and passes and she walked away from me. What I want to know is, how is the counter closed when there was an active spirit flight going out the doors had not closed for yet also THIS IS A INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WTF ? how are the counters closed ????

The Memphis International Airport is a very nice airport. While not a large airport, it is laid out well

Cute little airport in Memphis. Right in the middle of everything so close to Elvis's house! My favorite part of the airport is the logo of the airplane in a music note

This is such a nice airport. It is clean, has new seating, chargers, and beautiful artwork displayed throughout. For a small airport, I was really impressed. I walked around a bit just so I could see all the artwork. They have a child's play area, lactation center, pet area, military and st. Jude lounges. Easy to get in and out. Didn't have any trouble picking up or returning a rental car. On-ramps are super short here on Tennessee so be aware of that and be in the correct lane ahead of time. I don't know what people are complaining about but they have never been to Las Vegas, San Diego airports. Those are at the bottom of my list.

All things considered, I've never had a problem or bad experience here. Of course it is an airport so that comes with challenges of its own, but my service was top tier and TSA was rolling. I beat Pre-check through on my departure and return. One of the smaller airports, but also the cleanest and that is no easy feat. I'll be in and out many times in 2025.

This was an okay little airport. Based on my usual luck...or maybe just because even though I fly with Delta and landed at nearly the last gate on the concourse, it was a fairly quick walk to ground transportation and luckily enough, you can walk out the door on the same level and get right to a taxi or an Uber. When I came back, security was super quick. The first newsstand once you go through security has plenty of drinks, snacks and t-shirts. The lady who worked there was very nice. There are plenty of restrooms on the way to the gates along with some more stores near where the concourse splits into a "Y". I grabbed a bite to eat a Grizz Grill near gate 16. The food (a chicken sandwich) was okay and not terribly expensive for an airport. Overall a decent place.

This former hub airport has been transformed into a spacious, nicely decorated, regional airport. Ramblin' Joe's is a nice alternative to Starbucks, because it has great service, is not crowded, and has a variety of high-quality coffees and food. There are interesting art installations located throughout the concourse, with moving walkways down the center of most of the trek. Passenger drop off is a breeze, especially at 3:45 am!

This is a pretty basic airport. It is over 90 years old and has obviously had many updates and renovations since then. Most recently, a$245 million renovation project was completed in 2022. It is a relatively small airport with 23 gates in a single concourse. The airport's has a lot of amenities for a small airport that include a business center, moving walkways, pet relief areas, public art, a Delta Lounge, and a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Patient Lounge, an a dedicated area for families to relax during travel to and from Memphis to receive St Jude services. The concourse is clean and there is an adequate amount of seating available at the gates. The seats did not have individual power outlets though and outside of the limited pod seating, were not very comfy. They do have places that you can charge your phones though. The airport does not have a lot of dining and food options, but given the amount of traffic that the airport gets, I feel that it is adequate. There is a Memphis Made Brewing Co., a Chick-fil-A, a Chili's Grill & Bar, a Grizz Grill, a Lenny's Grill & Subs, and a Stage Left Pizza, Bar, & Grille. Oh and of course they have a Starbucks. The airports security allowed cars to park in front of the arrivals terminal without having them moving. That caused a lot of back-ups and traffic issues for people trying to meet up with their ride. I have experienced many airports and this one is just a step above OK for me. It does its job and gets people in and out of Memphis. As I mentioned, it is very clean and the staff there is friendly. I would have no issue flying in or out of this airport again. Fun Fact: This airport is home of the FEDEX Express Global Hub, making it the world's 2nd busiest cargo airport.

I swear this airport gets better every time I come to visit. This airport has recently gone through a ton of renovations and it looks much better. I believe they have finished all the renovations and the end product looks amazing. Very small airport with a lot of charm. They have beautiful paintings and art pieces around the airport. It gives you a real sense for the soul of Memphis. They even have live bands playing on the weekends. Plenty of eateries and vendors. Brand new seats and charging stations. Usually only takes me 10 minutes to get through security. There are play areas and more restrooms as well. I actually want to come back and take time to just walk around. Looks like there is only 1 terminal so you don't have to worry about running around the airport. The is bustling with energy but never over crowded.

This is a nice little airport. The security lines are short and the staff is pleasant. I used the restroom by the baggage pickup and it was really clean. You will find the rental car place a bit of a walk, but still easy to find. Overall, this seems to be a well ran airport.

Luckily , there is a direct flight from NYC to here. A small airport but people here has big hearts. I was overwhelmed of the people's hospitality. An easy way out to the passenger pickup spot. No fuss. No hassle. Flying out, had great experience, efficient staff. We flew so early in the morning that the dining options were still closed except for Starbucks and Chic-fil a. If you are using this airport on early morning...Be smart , pre-order via app so that will be ready for pick up after security check.

I love smaller airports and this one got the upgraded that it needed. I fly in and our of Memphis regularly so it was great seeing the updates. AThe upgrade made it so that you go to one terminal and it's just a long hallway with I think 20 something gates. They have the moving walkways which helps. Wide enough for there not to be congestion as you get to your gate. The bathrooms are kept clean. TSA usually moves fairly quickly and you can be to your gate rather quickly. The seats are comfortable and they have wireless charging at each seat. They have a few different eateries coming soon. Right now there's a chik fil a and Starbucks and a couple local. I believe they have a chilis coming soon. I'm hoping they will eventually renovate baggage claim to match the new modern look.

Small airport compared to LAX or Texas. Our first flight here to Texas via American Airlines arrived late. They had to replace the brakes and get more gas when they landed at Mephis so we missed our connecting flight from Texas to CA. I think the team here did a good job at getting our flights rebooked and our hotels figured out. Otherwise, the Memphis International Airport is fast for TSA check and getting in and getting out.

Clean restrooms plenty of choices on what to eat and friendly staff clear signs to direct you

It's literally been 4 years since I've been back to Memphis Airport - it's completely unrecognizable from days passed. They have invested millions of dollars to renovate this place. Tons of options to eat, drink, shop and even plenty of places to work (if you need to) Thoroughly impressed with what Memphis has accomplished here and they aren't done yet. I used to hate coming to this airport, especially if I needed to eat here. This place is fantastic now and look forward to seeing the upcoming changes planned (better rental experience, attached hotel, etc.).

What a breath of fresh air! TSA was a well oiled machine! So fast and efficient! Starbucks was fast and the prices were the same as home. Airport is immaculate. With charging areas all throughout. Beautiful local artwork. Delightful staff and all the little stores. we had a two hour layover so happy it was here.

Small for an international airport, clean and easy to navigate. If you're renting a car, be prepared for a bit of a walk. Enjoyed the artwork and outdoor water features also appreciated the moving walkways they seemed cushioned:-)

So after a long day of travel from Portland, OR, we arrived home...our beloved Memphis. We grabbed our luggage and began our trek to the parking garage. Two of the moving sidewalks were out of order but that is par for the course at MEM airport. When we got to the elevators, NONE were working. None. O for 5!! I had to walk up 6 flights to get to the floor where our car was parked, and my wife had to drag our luggage back to baggage claim where I could pick her up. I am 70 and she is 69. Come on Memphis Airport Authority!

Everything. Hit a curb in the 30 minute parking that apparently had been hit before and never fixed. Amazingly rude staff when we asked questions ( you work there...we don't.). Just another of the ever growing reasons not to come to Memphis.

Military lounge next to Starbucks is a great location, but desperately needs cleanliness attention!

Newish international airport. Rental car pickup and returns located next to the terminal, an easy 7 minute walk. Complimentary luggage carts can be found throughout the airport. Airline kiosks and ticketing kiosks could be expanded to cut down on the lines. One main terminal with 23 gates. A few restaurants, two bars, one coffee shop and many areas of seating.

Let's talk about the Memphis airport. It does what it needs you to do and that's fly in and fly out. Now it's small and gets you in and out quickly. Or to the best of its ability. But don't mistake it's size. It pumps people in and out. It's a hub for this part of TN. I love the art on the outside where you pick up the baggage. Also it's clean, always someone cleaning the bathrooms. I will say this airport does not have a USO. They have a military lounge. Which consists only of a few lounger chairs about 3. Then a huge conference table with chairs around it. So if your military and traveling don't expect much. The lounge is there in the middle of the terminal so are able to reach your gate easily no matter which side it's on. If you get stuck overnight go in and try and sleep the next you can.

Parking is trash. Need a better system. They have a screen to count the available parking spaces but it's never remotely accurate. Elevator is always broken. Small restaurant selection (mostly average chain) and snack options. Expensive all the way around.

This airport has changed so much in the past year! I almost did not recognize it. I love how they have more comfortable seating and more outlets. They have open play area for the children. Many restaurants to go and eat now. The bathrooms are so nice and clean. They have been updated to have a luxury feel. The only downside to the airport are the employees. They people in the stores that I encountered were rude and nonchalant. The ticket attendants have a lot of attitude and talks to everyone in an authority manner versus a customer service manner.

It's a new and clean airport but super tiny. The entire airport is basically the size of the Delta terminal at LAX. There are very few food options, non existent shopping options, and only 2 lounge options. Great if you are just passing through but sorely lacking if you have to at the airport for any extended period of time

Standard airport, they just went through a renovation a few years ago I used to live here and I'm so glad they went through that because it was rough. But pretty cool airport they have the same stuff that every other airport has so I guess if you're flying to Memphis is the only airport you can fly to because there's no other ones.

Maybe because I'm Memphis breed but this is a beautiful yet simple airport. Has small town size but Big town energy n definitely alot of people in and out of these terminals. This is the hub of the south, put some respect on our Airport. This is The distribution hub! Memphis is beautiful period..

New terminal is awesome. Brand new look. It takes a while to walk to baggage now. Maybe 5 minutes if walking fast. Clean and bright look everywhere. Oh and they have wireless charging at each seat in the waiting areas too!

I don't usually rate airports but this might have been the best airport I've ever been in?? Car return was simple, an easy walk to the gates, no lines, brand new infrastructure and bathroom technology I've never seen before. Just wish they had Clear lines!!
