Yelp
Visiting the pyramid is a great way to spend an hour or two. We were curious and didn't know what to expect, but we had fun walking around! There are lots of fish (BIG fish!), crocodiles and more! There's an aquarium too. It's a typical Bass Pro Shop... but on steroids! You can buy almost anything sports or outdoor related here. Boats, fishing gear, camping gear, apparel... there's a fudge shop too. You can eat at Mark and Donny Walhburg's restaurant or stay in the on-site hotel! We didn't take the elevator up to the top for the outdoor balcony view. As of October 2025 it's $8 a person to ride up. Easy to get to and free parking!

Yelp
The Pyramid is the only time where I will want to go into a Bass Pro Shop while on a trip. It's so worth it. Even though it is a typical Bass Pro Shop, they have so much more to offer. They have a sky deck that has an amazing view of Memphis. It only cost 8 dollars for the ride up. Besides the pyramid being a store, it's also a hotel, restaurant, aquarium and more. We loved our time at the pyramid. It is a must while visiting Memphis.

Yelp
At first I thought, 'meh, I don't care about Bass Pro Shop so I'm not gonna come here.' I was wrong.. do it!! Come to the pyramid! Although it is a gigantic BPS, it is basically its own attraction. There's a giant tank with different fish, alligators, bowling, a hotel, AND a pretty cool observation deck that only costs $8 to go up. There's a restaurant up top, too! Everything is decorated so cool to make you feel like you're walking around a bayou on a starry night. Seeing everything made me curious to come back to check out the hotel and bowling one day. This is a must-do when visiting Memphis!

Yelp
This striking 32 story pyramid completed in 1991 houses a huge Bass Pro Shop. There are aquariums, an artificial swamp & shooting range. There is a clear walled elevator going on 28 floors to a glass observation deck with views of downtown & the river. Besides outdoor clothing & gear there is a Hilton hotel, boats, awe vehicles, burger restaurant, rooftop, ... alligators!

Yelp
The Memphis Pyramid is a giant, glittery Bass Pro fever dream... part swamp, part sporting goods store, part luxury lodge, with gators downstairs and river views upstairs. It's weird, wonderful, and unapologetically over the top.

Yelp
Bass Pro Shop is easily accessible by car with plenty of free parking around the Pyramid. You can skip the wait by booking a reservation to the Lookout Restaurant, and line up directly after paying $8 fare per adult on the right hand lane straight up to the 28th Floor. Great views on both lookout points. Make sure you head there before the last reservation at 6:30PM as the Lookout restaurant and entire store closes at 7:00PM, meaning you'd only be able to catch the beginning of sunset before close. I love the southwest view of the Mississippi River and the Hernando Desoto bridge. Make sure you go on a cooler day, as the window panes of the pyramid reflect sunlight at an angle back onto the lookout points. Very easy to get to with great view payout.

Yelp
I have known about The Pyramid in Memphis for years. First as a basketball arena and now as the second largest Bass Pro Shops. We recently visited Bass Pro Memphis and stayed one night at the indoor hotel called Big Cypress Lodge. Pretty special place. You see just how special this place is from the very moment you drive up. Then you walk in. Boats in water, numerous water features including the traditional fish tank, gators, 28 story to the top to a lookout with an amazing view of the Memphis skyline. Our experience at the lodge was cool. The room we stayed in is resort style. Outdoor theme, with a balcony that looks at the sales floor. Overall The Pyramid is a very special place. Don't just go and shop...go and experience...go and stay.

Yelp
Very nice concept, a lot of good things to buy and nice overlooking of the city. The staff are nice too. Don't forget to grab one of souvenirs hat

Yelp
When in Memphis, you have to visit the Pyramid. We planned it out to be there during sunset and it was beautiful. The views are breathtaking. There's no seating available and its not for those who are afraid of heights. There are a few different view points for different angles of the city. Don't miss out!

Yelp
The one thing that I knew I wanted to see when I visited Memphis was the Pyramid. I know there's Beale Street and Graceland, but to me, peak Memphis is the Pyramid. Even though I'm getting to see it in the current state and not when it was an arena. Once settled in to where I was staying I decided to walk to here so that I could take it in from afar and as I neared. Walking here was probably a stupid thing, but I did it either way. As you walk towards the Pyramid you take in how this used to be used as an arena. With the vast parking lots, winding road that leads you up to the front door, you could only imagine how busy this place was on a game day. To note, this place is the eighth largest pyramid in the world. And for me to say that I got to go to a pyramid is kind of a cool thing to say. There are many things that go into to this place, and some of those are separate reviews as the inside of this place has definitely changed and adapted. It is now home to a Bass Pro Shop, Ducks Unlimited, hotel, observation deck, small museum, restaurants, aquariums, and tallest free standing elevator in the country. Other notable things in here are an archery range, shooting range, laser shooting range, bowling, and the list could go on. A very unique reuse of a building and I am glad I got to see it.

Yelp
Great place to view the sunset and do some Bass Pro Shops browsing! While the deck uptop is $8 and a harrowing elevator ride to the top, the sunset views are not to be missed! If you'd like to get a drink at the fish bowl, a bar (and small restaurant) surrounds a lovely curved fish tank. The Pyramid gets negative points for hotel staff not being knowledgeable about their own public happy hour on a Friday with the fire pits, music, etc. but will leave those comments where hotel mgmt can view. Check out the basketball history of the Memphis Pyramid, as well! Can you believe they played basketball here until 2001? Ra, Ra, Ra, it's the Memphis Pyramid!

Yelp
It's a giant Bass Pro Shop. Fun to wander around. I'd imagine if there's a hunting or camping device you can imagine - they have it.

Yelp
The Memphis Pyramid is an iconic downtown landmark. But actually, it's really a Bass Pro Shops Megastore. If you are an outdoors enthusiast, then I believe this place is for you. Inside the massive lobby, off to the right hand side is the hotel check-in counter for the Big Cypress Lodge. Wow, a hotel inside the pyramid, that's pretty cool. I started thinking of Las Vegas, lol. And straight ahead is entering a sportsman's paradise. There's everything you can think of and the setting is from some far away Disney themed fantasyland. Just walking around and browsing felt like an escape into another world. They sell equipment for archery, camping and hunting. You can buy boats, tractors, fishing, bait and tackle, sunglasses, raingear. There was a sign for range and waterfowl. I don't even know what that is, lol. There's a General Store that makes homemade fudge and old fashioned candies like moon pies, taffies, licorice, cotton candy and jellybeans. - A restaurant called Wahlburgers. - They house alligators in a pond. - Large fish tanks. But the big highlight is The Lookout from the Observation Deck. Yes, for $8 a person ($5 for kids) you can ride the elevators to the top of the pyramid. Then stand outside from high above Memphis looking down on the city. The skyline was pretty nice including panoramic views of the bridge that connects Tennessee and Arkansas crossing the Mississippi River. Besides the Observation Deck, the Lookout at the Pyramid is a bar and restaurant offering 360 degree surroundings. Lastly, they had a lot of discounted merchandise, so it felt like shopping at a retail outlet store. Some hats were $5.99 and t-shirts $6.99. I picked up a few items along with fudge and candy. Overall, the Pyramid, or I guess you can call it Bass Pro Shops Superstore, is a fun way to combine shopping and sightseeing within one destination. I had a memorable time.

Yelp
Located practically on the waterfront. Lights up at night and looks quite lovely. This is one of the popular attractions in Downtown Memphis. A must see!

Yelp
Visited the Pyramid for dinner on 9/29/2025 with 7 friends. Had to pay $8.50 per person just to ride up the elevator to the restaurant. Couldn't get a drink cause their Co2 was out, so no soda. No decaf coffee either. The pasta ($30) was good but we got no salad or bread. Those who ordered ribs said they were inedible. I have been there before and it was great. Won't bother going back.

Yelp
This is a really cool place to visit and on a must list if you're in Memphis. My husband has been here before so he insisted we come to this Pyramid with a Giant Bass Pro Shop and hotel inside. It's so cool! There is a rooftop deck and restaurant you can visit and see a view of the town. It's free if you're dining at the restaurant and have a reservation - otherwise you have to pay about $8 a person to ride the elevator to the observation deck. Inside the shop are like 60-80ft trees, bridges and water filled with bass swimming around, the store is stocked to the gills and has everything you could ever want outdoorsy. There are some additional things inside and restaurants as well as the hotel which each room opens to the main atrium with a view of the middle area which is cool for people-watching but I'm not sure how soundproof it is... hotel seems more kid-friendly type. Parking was free and easy and it's near the waterfront downtown with plenty of other things to see and do in this area like see the Memphis town sign, walk the park, walk the bridge, visit Beale St. and the Peabody to see the ducks. It's all within just a few minutes.

Yelp
I loved this place. Bought a new Uncle Henry, my last knife I've used hunting for over 40 years, blade getting a little thin from sharpening, Needed a replacement. Loved everything about this place, checking out was a little slow, but it was crowded. Thank You.

Yelp
I sent a bad review for Big Cypress Lodge on June 6th. However on June 16th I once again called the lodge and the call was answered and the customer service was very nice. We made a reservation and stayed the night in the lodge. Everything was VERY nice. The rooms are excellent. The deck area to lookout over the Pro Shop is great. The Lookout Restaurant at the top is very impressive. Over all if you are a Bass Pro Shop fan or not, I believe this is a stay worth doing.

Yelp
Great place to go for all your sporting needs but also has sooo much more. Restaurant... rooms to stay in like cabin suites... atmosphere is amazing. Found some great gifts at reasonable prices and service was good in restaurant area as well.

Yelp
This was a crazy random stop on a road trip. Passing thru Memphis & wanting to eat with a view of the Mississippi River... & wow did we score with finding the Memphis Pyramid! It's such a unique space with Bass Pro Shops, multiple restaurants, & a rooftop view. We did a bit of shopping & perused all the wild Eye Candy... as there are live gators & other critters + boats in the ponds & so many other completely unexpected fun things happening there. We ate at the Lookout Restaurant which was really delicious plus our waitress was delightful. Took in the view & got a pic taken which was worth paying $20 for it framed to remind us of the wild adventure! It's a memory that we keep telling tales of as it's like no other!

Yelp
What an amazing conception. Shopping, hotel, bar, food, views, fishing. This place has it all! The service was terrific and the food was delicious. View was jaw-dropping.

Yelp
My group had a lot of fun visiting the pyramid. The line for the observation deck was a little too long but the $8 price to go up there seemed reasonable. I loved the massive selection of anything you could possible need for the outdoors, especially clothes and supplies. There were plenty of staff members around to help you find what you're looking for and there was never a long line at the checkout. They were also very friendly and welcoming when you walked in. We didn't get a chance to stay at the hotel inside of the pyramid but it seemed like a fun and unique experience that I'd like to try sometime.

Yelp
Great experience! Kids and us truly enjoyed it. Price wasn't bad, I believe $8/adult and $5/kid. It was nice to see the views from that high up. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
During a visit to Memphis, I popped in out of curiosity and to see the view from the observation deck. SPOILER: I was surprised to find that the pyramid is a shell, and it's not completely a hotel like the Luxor in Las Vegas. (It makes sense that there wouldn't necessarily be a need for so large a hotel here, but I was operating on a flawed expectation.) The ground floor is the Bass Pro Shops, a faux cypress swamp (with real fish and ducks), assorted entertainment activities, and a restaurant; the second floor is more shopping, more entertainment activities, and hotel rooms; the third floor (I think) is more hotel rooms. The observation deck - glass decks on two faces of the pyramid - are cool, with nice views from 28 stories up of downtown Memphis, the Mississippi River, and Arkansas across the river. The restaurant on the observation level looked fine. To me, visiting the deck(s) was well worth the $8 ticket, although the slow line to buy a ticket and go up the elevator on a weekday afternoon was frustrating.

Yelp
We saw the pyramid driving into Memphis and wondered out loud what it is. Later that night after many drinks, we opted to get out of the festival crowd via a horse and carriage ride, and our coachman asked if we had any questions about the city and that was one of them. The answer is it's a multitude of things I don't care much about: Bass Pro Shop Hotel Restaurant at the top But, on a cold and rainy day when the trolley wasn't running, we Ubered over as our driver grumbled about what a tourist trap it is - cool story bro, but we're already on our way. I was impressed by the massive space and the fact that items for purchase ranged between half a dollar to half a million (boats, obvi). Sections for everything - camo, camping, candy, gadgets, guns, and more. There was a diner churning out fried stuff on the main level, but we opted to go to the top for a drink at The Lookout, and here's where the other 2 stars went bye bye... We didn't have reservations and the desk staff by the express elevator was a bit snotty for an establishment that features fine dining in the same place you can buy jerky and bait. I observed the frosty response to everyone behind us in the same predicament. I took 2 steps back, and while making direct eye contact with the gatekeepers, called upstairs, secured a table immediately, then loudly told the others I'd be happy to include them as well or I'd give them the #. ...talk about a tense elevator ride. The view was ok, but the joke was on us as the overpriced unimaginative food wasn't worth photographing or finishing. Our waitress, however, was an absolute delight. The whole time I was watching for hotel guests wondering who wants to stay there...did y'all know there is a Tinder just for Hunters and Anglers? Well, now you do. https://www.hunting4connections.com/

Yelp
This place is pretty amazing! A very unique structure downtown Memphis. You can't miss it if you come into town on any of the highways that criss cross around this building. There are street signs clearly marked guiding you here and a huge parking lot that is well lit, maintained and has a roving security guard in a truck. Obviously this pyramid is a Bass Pro that contains several restaurants, a bowling Ally and a lodge. It's definitely worth checking out, especially if you like the outdoors and wildlife!

Yelp
Upon visiting this restaurant we were promptly greeted by a well trained staff. They promptly sent us up to the restaurant where a young lady sat us at our table with Tina as our waitress. We found her to be well trained and knew the menu from top to bottom. After ordering our drinks were replaced well before empty. While waiting for the food we were able to tour the outside area with spectacular views of the Mississippi and Memphis skyline. Upon receiving our food, though a tad slow, we were pleasantly surprised with a great tasting well portioned meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Tina, her shortened name.

Yelp
We had been visiting Memphis, and thought we should stop at the pyramid just because it was there. To be honest, we hadn't really researched it, and didn't know what all it offered, but thought it was just a cool building to take a look at. When you first walk in, it's so incredible to see just how mammoth the interior is!! Beyond all the different types of shopping - clothes, shoes, hunting, fishing, archery, rifles, sunglasses, camping, on and on, to see all the ponds, ducks, birds, alligators, fish, it was the most incredible zoo-like experience! We were standing in one of the shopping areas looking at birdfeeders etc. and didn't realize we had gotten in line to go up the elevator. Once we realized this, we decided to stay in the line and see what it was all about. Due to Covid, they were only letting two people in the elevator at a time so it took a while, but we finally got our tickets and got in. I, admittedly am nervous about heights, but I figured being in an elevator it wouldn't be so bad. Well, I'll be honest, even my boyfriend was getting a little shaky as we approached the top of the pyramid - something about a four sided glass elevator was really freaky! Then out to the observation deck, wow! What a fabulous view of the river and the city! Again, for those nervous about heights, please be aware that not only is the flooring made with glass-like panels that has metal strips in it (so you can pretty much see through) but there are periodic panels that are completely glass! So yes, it took me some coaxing to get out to the edge where I clung on like a maniac, but it was such a gorgeous view I couldn't pass it up. There are actually two observation decks - the main one facing the front of the building, and if you go back into the restaurant and to the left there's another observation deck facing the river which I don't think many people realize is there. We then went back down into the store, and stopped at the bowling alley for lunch. The entire interior of the building is dimly lit and the bowling alley was no different, but it was hysterical to see the big sharks heads where the ball return comes out of! Lunch was decent, but slow, then we finished up some shopping and headed out. All the employees were super nice and we could not even believe that we just spent 4-5 hours inside of a store! Truly it was one of the highlights of our trip!

Yelp
I have visited Memphis many times. I've seen this huge Bass Pro Shop. I would say I'm going to stop. This time I did. I was impressed. I have to go there again. It was a wonderful visit in Mempis. I wish I had more time.

Yelp
This place is awesome! So much to see and experience. Very cool place and also very beautiful at night. Great place to take your kids too. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Cool elevator experience that takes you to the top to experience beautiful views of memphis Tennessee and the stunning views of the Mississippi river. This is a must see and most definitely a true family experience. Has some very good restaurants in there also. Ive seen many bass pro shops but i can truly say this is the best i have seen and experienced

Yelp
Our grandson had a great time exploring this venue with us. He loved the bears, the fish, and the popgun!

Yelp
Do you want to see a landmark that only one other American city and one other additional international city has as a defining feature? The pyramid is an instant icon and now that it has a restaurant inside it'll be one of those things that gets portrayed in pop culture about Memphis.

Yelp
Overpriced tourist trap and, as an animal lover, I CAN'T STAND the captive animals in small enclosures. Always crowded but they have an impressive exotic food restaurant. Only really go when family and friends are in town and want to go.
