My mate and I were in Nottingham for a night out, and we stumbled upon this place for food. We were lucky enough to get a table right away, and the staff were super quick to take our orders for drinks and food. Now, here’s a heads up: the tables can be a bit wobbly, especially if you lean on them too much. I accidentally tipped over one of the tables while trying to move forward, and guess what? Two full beers went flying over the table, seating, and the floor! The staff cleaned everything up in a flash. They even moved us to a different table. As for the food, it was delicious! It was a bit spicy, even though we ordered a mild dish, but that’s just my taste. Overall, it was a great experience.

Google
Nice atmosphere and friendly service. However the quality of the sides were underwhelming. Very average tasting rice and naan options, left a lot more to be desired. My “very spicy” curry was slightly hotter than mild, starters were better than the curries. I understand that this place is a staple in Nottingham, but perhaps it is past its prime. The awards in the front would suggest that at least..

Wasn't sure what to expect due to the AA rosettes and inclusion in Michelin guide. I wasn't disappointed - great tastes, fresh herbs and spices and good texture. The Jalfrezi and Ostrich starter were the standout dishes. The chutneys were a little disappointing. So, was it better than my normal 'go to' restaurants? Probably not, but definitely worth a visit.

Went here for Mother’s Day and as we sat down I noticed it was a set menu and panicked. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. You got a lot for your money, portions huge and menu options were plentiful (I’m a veggie). Service was great. So attentive. Whilst we spent more on what we normally would (because of the set menu) we had no objections. We will be back to try the full menu. It was a lovely touch for the owner to come round and check everything was ok

I visited Memsaab on Friday after hearing rave reviews about this place for years. Everyone from my family, friends, and colleagues who’s been there has raved about their experience. Despite being hesitant to try highly recommended places, the combination of their pricing and the overwhelming positive feedback made me want to give it a try. Upon entering, we were greeted with dates, a traditional Muslim treat, and offered ample prayer space in the back. They also provided us with plenty of water to break our fast, which was incredibly thoughtful of the staff. After our prayers, we settled down and were promptly and efficiently served by attentive waiters, making our dining experience feel personalised. The staff was incredibly compassionate and accommodating of our dietary requirements. They explained each dish in detail and were genuinely interested in engaging with our group. The food was absolutely delicious. I started with the Amritsari Machli, a delectable dish served with a variety of tasty sauces. My husband and I then opted for a tandoori combination, and the staff kindly swapped out the prawns for another chicken tikka. We paired these dishes with peshwari naan, which perfectly complemented the flavours. As a food reviewer, I usually try places only once before moving on to the next, but Memsaab has certainly piqued my interest. I’m eager to return and explore more of their extensive menu.

First visit yesterday and Wow!!! Absolutely the very best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted and as a vegetarian, I applaud you for a creative menu with SO much to choose from, which is always a rarity anywhere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout and apologies for you guys having a late close down !! You deserve every accolade and award on your wall. Sunday Times stated " they are amongst the top three Indian restaurants in the country". Observer states " amongst the top five curries in the country"

28.05.2024 We were eyeing this restaurant from a long time and finally we made it. The best service I have ever experienced to add to the tasty food and lovely ambience. The place is huge and can accommodate more that 200 people. The interiors are beautiful. The lighting is very nice and the table setting is awesome. no wornder the restaurant has wom many awards. We ordered for Lahori Lamb Chops, Tandoori Ostrich, JChilli Prawn Salad, French Fries and not to forget cocktails and Beers. Every order was quick and tasty. I am amazed by their super quick service as if they are reading our minds. To our surprise they also served a cake to celebrate our birthday. With super quick and excellent service a great place to dine, has left us with a very memorable experience.

Yelp
MEMSAAB IN NOTTINGHAM This is really a five star plus restaurant. Elegant settings, nice service, they took care of every little details, checked on how we were enjoying but were never intrusive or abrupt. The restaurant is run by "memsaab" lovely lady with lots of energy interacting with guests, very pleasant!! The food was great. We ordered Salmon dish as appetizers, very tasty, with perfect sauce with it.,very tender. The palak paneer was out of this world. Desserts were great Overall we give full marks for wonderful experience there ,

Yelp
The ambience of the place is so authentic, true to its culture. There is a wide range to choose from whilst ordering. The staff is super helpful and know-how to provide exceptional service to their customers. Amazing Indian food. The restaurant is run by a lady and she too checks up on her customers individually.

Yelp
Wow, what a fantastic Indian meal. Had the lamb chops appetizer with the Chicken Balti as my main course. This was a wonderful meal, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Nottingham.

Yelp
The ambience is ethnic and feels nice with Indian music. Food was average.. very poor choice of draught beers. It's very pricy for the overall experience.

Yelp
If you are looking for good Indian food in Nottingham, this is the place to come. I travel to Nottingham a few time a year for work, and always make at least on stop at MemSaab. The service it top notch, and all the dishes I have tried are fantastic. My top 3 recommendations: Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Tikka Masala.

Yelp
MemSaab is a superb fine dining venue. Located in Nottingham town centre, the restaurant is a real gem, superbly appointed and is huge! I have dined here several times during business trips and generally visit on quieter nights but I am certain that when near capacity, the atmosphere would be great. The menu is varied and with each visit I have tasted different dishes. ALL have been excellent quality and with eye catching presentations. The Pistachio Kulfi is a great way to end a meal. There is an Extensive beverage menu with some interesting and rarely seen options. The staff are attentive and very friendly and genuinely interested in knowing about the quality of food and service. Pricing is in accordance with a fine dining venue but, in my opinion, represents value. MemSaab is one obligatory stop for any visit to Nottingham and I will be back. Treat yourself - you will not be disappointed (at least I hope not)!

Yelp
An Indian resturant a step above the norm, and famous for Chris Tarrant being arrested for throwing a fork or spoon at an irritating nearby diner..... and also winning Best Indian food in Nottingham for 3 years running. The food is very good with complex spicy tastes that overlap and follow each other, the portions are pretty big ,especially the 'platters', so don't overorder, keep it coming as you need it. My tandoori platter was superb, and a fellow diner's tandoori King read GINORMOUSprawns was immense, and incredibly tasty. Service was very good, even attentive with the jugs of water. It's a pretty big place and caters for quite a few large parties, so if you are after peace and quiet you will need to tell them when you book.

Yelp
As an American visiting the UK, I was excited to have some of the best Indian food outside India. This place didn't disappoint. The food was spicy, just like I like it, the naan was warm, moist and crunchy all at the same time. A couple of reasons why I am giving it only 3 stars. 1) Just the night before, I had dinner at another Indian restaurant, right next door - Calcutta Club, and it was better than MemSaab, in my opinion. 2) It was quite pricy - and not sure why. I thought Calcutta Club was better and less expensive.

Yelp
We ate here earlier this year and, for us, the food eclipsed that at 4550 though it was close! A lovely relaxed atmosphere accompanied by friendly staff made a memorable evening. I really loved the Chef special - they bring in guest chefs! A fabulous idea but unfortunately I cannot remember who it was! xx

Yelp
Mem Saab is a fabulous Indian restaurant located on Maid Marian Way in Nottingham's city centre. The winner of Best Indian in the Nottingham Restaurant awards for the past three years, the restaurant has a lot to live up to and it never fails to rise to the challenge. The food is authentic and there is a wide range of dishes to choose from, many of which you would not have heard of from your local curry house. The place caters for all tastes and there is a special section for vegetarians containing appealing items, which is always nice to see. The atmosphere is enjoyable and the staff welcoming. A great night out.

Yelp
What I believe to be Nottingham's premier curry house. Close enough to the city centre for pre- and post- drinks, but not on the square, and so avoids the asbo's and hood wearers. The menu always throws out something new. They have an extensive list of curries from different regions of India, and each is served elegantly. This isn't a three o'clock in the morning curry house. This should be the focus of the evening. Fine dining - excellent service - I'd recommend this one to anyone. The only downside would be that towards Christmas there tend to be a number of corporate do's and parties that can dominate the atmosphere - this is only a very minor criticism however. We always have a great meal!

Yelp
Mem Saab is one of the best Indian Resaurants that I have ever been to. A group of us visited Nottingham earlier this year on a stag weekend and I arranged for us to go for a meal here before we went out one night because of it's proximity to the centre and the fact that it had many good reviews on the net. I rang up and booked in advance which is a good idea if you are a large party as they sent us details of the set menus that they offer so we could choose what we wanted before hand. The decor is excellent - very modern and classy. The food and service are fantastic. The portions aren't huge but are very well presented. The price isn't cheap but is good value considering quality of the food.

Yelp
The food was splendid. I tried the chicken biryani, it was top notch. My brother got the set menu. The portions were large and tasty. The lamb chops were great. The gajar ka halwa was the best dessert. The ambience and decor were really good. The soft Hindi tunes in the background were quite pleasant. The service was outstanding. One should really give this place a try.

Yelp
Very lovely meal with extremely attentive service. I expected good food and service from this higher end curry establishment. I had the lamb jalfrazi and garlic naan which were both delish.

Yelp
Read the other reviews and thought I would try it. Amazing. Great food with a nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices and an attentive staff. I will come back.

Yelp
Members Sean does not disappoint. Everything was well prepared and presented. The monk fish in banana leaves was wonderful. Go and enjoy.

Yelp
The staff at MemSaab were so accommodating. We were a party of 21 that only booked 1 hour prior to showing up. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere great and the staff friendly and courteous. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Indian food if one of my favourites so this place is a nice break for me, It is perhaps one of the most experiences Indian restaurants I have ever eaten in. To be best of my knowledge it has won several award for food ever recent years, they have them displaced in the restaurant. The décor and ambience here is very relaxing and you almost feel like you are in India, the soft mood music really adds that extra edge to your meal. The restaurant is very stylish, perhaps one of the most stylish restaurants I have ever eaten in. The food and wine is amazing and they seem to have something for everyone, they had a lot of dishes that I had never tried before but the staffs is always happy to tell you what is in them. In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Nottingham

Yelp
The best posh Indian food in town, if you like your curry served with added swank, dine here for outstanding service and truly delicious Indian food. They have a particularly good selection if you prefer your food not to be 'blow the roof of your mouth off' hot.

Yelp
Mem Saab is just out of the main city centre in Nottingham. It's kind of trendy, modern Indian, so the kind of place that you'll either love or hate! It's not got an authentic atmosphere at all with high open ceilings. The food is posh Indian so you don't get a lot on your plate, but what you do get is very tasty. My husband still goes on about the Corriander dip he had with one of his courses as it was out of this world! It is really expensive for what you get though, and for that reason, I would prefer to go to a more authentic restaurant where I actually felt full after my meal!

Yelp
While visiting Nottingham recently on business, I decided to give this place a try. I recalled this restaurant from a previous visit several years ago, but it now appears to be under new ownership. For a fine dining venue, found the place to be a bit overdecorated and under serviced. First, it took a long time for the waiter to take my order, even after I tried to draw his attention several times. When I did try to order appetizers as starters, I was politely informed that I had to order my entire meal before the starters could be served. Found this to be a bit odd as the place didn't seem busy or overcrowded. Also, when the server brought me a bottle of the Cobra beer I had ordered, he made a hasty retreat without even bothering it to serve it in the glass he had placed in front of me. Surely, a fine dining restaurant, as the venue claims to be, would train the staff to do otherwise. On the food side, the vegetarian entrees, Okra and Saag, I had ordered were half delicious and oily at best. Overall, had an unsatisfactory experience.

Yelp
Ate here last week. Very good food. Attentive staff. Good wine list variety - the Bordeaux especially good and a good price. Food was reasonably priced and compares favourably with '4550 Miles To Delhi' a few doors up. If asked, I'd return to Mem Saab.

Yelp
I have lived very close to Mem saab for the lasy half a year, and only just got round to going, and boy was i glad that i did. My partner and i were greeted by two very friendly waiting staff, who couldn't have been any more helpful. We selected two curry dishes, which for the money were excellent value and the portion sizes were very impressive. I was very impressed by the food and service at this restaurant.
