Rooms are OK with their own toilets and shower. More expensive than DNT cabins so you’d expect for something special, but not really. Living room is cosy but hot water for drinking costs money, the food is blend and WiFi did not work when we were there.

Nice place to end up after a hard day's hike. The rooms had their own shower which was great. Food was also good and filling. We walked in and took the boat ride back out to the parking place

Great trip to southern Sutingshøe, across the ridge to the main summit.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend to stay at Memurubu! Overall way overpriced for the value you get there. I understand that it is a remote place and you have to ship there everything by ship, but 300 USD per night it is still very expensive for what you get, even given the price level in Norway. The dinner was okay, but made with the simplest and cheapest of ingredients. The rooms were clean, but quite old, are not soundisolated, so that you hear everything from the hallway and most of the noise from the neighboring rooms. Besides, I had a construction site directly in front of my window . The staff was friendly and helpful though. The breakfast choice was also rather cheap, even the home made bread is still similar to toast. I would not stay there again and spent the money rather somewhere else where you get probably two nights and a bit better food.

Very poor service and a strange and unpleasant vibe from owner. When we arrived we payed for a room but when returning to buy some food and beverages after a long hike we’re stopped by the owner due to Wi-Fi was down. He was absolutely not willing to let us put what we were getting on the room until Wi-Fi’s back and was acting very hostile again people wanting to make purchases. Dining room is in this dark room without proper windows to enjoy the views and the food was horrible. Such a shame for a place so beautifully located. Skip this and enjoy the warmth and joy of the DNT stays instead!!

We stayed with a tent - the place for tents is down closer to the lake, so it takes about 150 meters to go up if you want to take a shower (included in price) or get a drinking water (a tap on wall of the main building). There is also a dry toilet at the camping place and about 6-7 tables with benches. Price was 190 NOK for one person.

If you come in via Gjendesheim, I recommend instead staying at DNT Gjendesheim and taking the morning ferry, or at least eating dinner at Gjendeosen before taking the evening ferry. Memurubu breakfast and facilities are decent. If you need to cancel anything, make sure to both call and email ASAP and **get it in writing** because otherwise they'll try to slither out of it. Had to argue with multiple people until they'd agree to honor their own cancellation policy.
